Ahoy there, fellow explorers! Sharing my recent adventure to Coney Island in Singapore. This beautiful island park is a hidden gem, offering visitors a chance to escape the city and immerse themselves in nature. The island is easily accessible by bike or public transportation, and the park is well-maintained with clean facilities and ample signage to guide visitors. The scenery is breathtaking, with towering trees, lush vegetation, and stunning views of the sea. One of the highlights of my visit was exploring the diverse range of flora and fauna on the island. I spotted several species of birds, including the majestic Brahminy Kite, and encountered a friendly family of wild boars along the way. Cycling is the best way to cover the island – head over to the GoCycling @ Punggol Jetty and rent one for as low as $10 an hour and if you take 2 hours then the third is free While the overall experience was fantastic, there were a few areas where improvement could be made. Some of the trails were a bit overgrown, making them difficult to navigate, and the park can get quite crowded on weekends. Look for our Sandflies- certain sections of the island are left rustic so they have a lot of biting sandflies – bring along your bug spray Coney Island is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty of Singapore. I highly recommend visiting in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat and crowds. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and don't forget your camera to capture the stunning views.

Nice walk on the island. Started from the East entrance and exited through the West entrance. Plenty of walkers and bikers and occasional joggers. Mainly took the southern trail as a large chunk of area just inside of the East entrance is currently not accessible and some constructions going on. Did not try to access the beach areas, maybe in the next visit. The southern trail are surrounded by trees but mostly sunny during mid day. The breezes help. Trail is in a good condition and not wet. Plenty of birds and flowers. Saw a pack of dogs running around on their own - maybe wild dogs?

Just a short post to inform the public that the East Side of the island is "closed" for the construction of the Outward Bound Campus. There is an alternative route on the right side of the construction site that leads you to the Lorong Halus Wet Land. But the trial there is also closed for some upgrading work. So you will have to make a big round to get to the Lor Halus Wet Land Park, then back to the Waterway Park connector. If you are not prepared for such a long walk, then it is best to take u-turn and get back out through the west gate.

We really enjoy Coney Island, and it’s the best place to not feel like you’re in Singapore. Pine tree smell everywhere, it’s amazing. However at the south entrance there is now a huge construction site, which covers about 1/3 the island. It’s loud, dusty and there’s only a single track around it, with a big wall. Date of completion for the construction is 2024. We’ve previously used the north entrance and thought to try the south; big mistake. I’d recommend to anyone going to Coney Island over the next 3 years: 1) Use the north entrance only 2) Stay to the top half of the island to avoid the construction sounds, particularly if you have younger children with you.

Greta walking or biking area. People usually walk into or bike into coney island. You can see malaysia across the water as well. Lots of paths and lots of animals so keep on the path. Takes about 1-2 hrs walking and 30min running to loop the whole thing

Beautiful small island near Punggol area. Nice for walks and even has good cycling trails. Can get good views from various parts of the island and a nice forest in the centre where you can spot a lot of reptile life. Nice nature to explore. Worth a visit.

Best explore island on a bicycle. Spray insect repellent that can repel sandflies too. Slap on some sun screen too. Bring along a pair of binoculars for birds watching. Enjoy!

Conducted a couple's shoot at Coney Island at the request of the client and it was an absolute joy to shoot at such a unique location. The unconventional setting filled with nature, paved the way for a more secluded, intimate vibe. The lighting was also unique in the sense that the sun filtered sparsely through the dense canopy and the sunset there was absolutely magical. It truly takes you out of the conventional Singapore landscape and immerses you in a unique , rural environment. For the photographers, I recommend hitting golden hour at the wooden obstacle course near the entrance. Having your subject backlit by the sun peeking through the trees looks amazing and the obstacle course enables interesting composition ideas and spontaneous posing opportunities.

We parked in carpark next to Punggol Settlement which is free. The Punggol Settlement charged $1.60 per entry. It’s about a 1-km walk to Coney Island. There were lots of bikers, didn’t see any hikers. The path in the middle of Coney Island is not muddy but not paved either. The trees are tall, so it’s quite shady and cool. The walk around the whole island took us just under 2-hours.

Very quiet place No tourist. It's not easy to meet people. There are no amenities at all. There are only two very dirty portable toilets. There is no place to wash our hands. Just you can walk along a forest path or a path next to the sea. Because the sun is hot on the beach path, the forest path is recommended during the day.

Pleasant experience at Coney Island 🏝️. It’s a very peaceful place and definitely worth the trip. You can rent your bike from the stall or “Anywheel”. How to go: 1. Take MRT to Punggol MRT station 🚉 2. Look for bus 84 at Punggol bus interchange 🚌 3. Drop off at Punggol Rd End 4. Cycle around 500m to reach Coney Island

For stars from me, not a "mast see attraction" just a place for a walk and be with nature, maybe can watch some birds or watch coastal line, swim or get sun bath at some beaches. I cycled island slowly about 30 minutes (yes it is big) The east part under maintenance till 2022 (month?)

Nice tranquil, quiet and calming place! this place is perfect for everyone! especially nature lover’s, hiker’s and biker’s. The only thing that you should take note of is that, ‘Coney island’ closes at 7pm and open’s at 7am. Stay safe and have fun! (P.S. Thank You For Reading This!)

If you want to spend your weekend on a leisure note strolling or cycling with family this is a nice place to be . Not really big in terms of size and probably would take 20 mins of Cycling from one end to the other but what matter is you are close to nature. There are some sheltered areas here and there and you wouldn’t find any shops as well. But when it rains it can get patchy as well. I would say it’s well preserved as I haven’t seen much changes to it from my first visit back in 2016.

Overall average experience ( no drinking water). We entered from the west gate of the island. Entry is free. Inside no drinking water is available, so bring lots of water with you. If you think you go out from the other side of the island, it’s ok you can go out but no public transportation is available. And water one vending machine is there. So go in from the west gate and plan to get out from the west gate. You will get white sand beach, cold and soothing breeze. Will enjoy the moments even in the scorching sun ☀️. The water is so clear that you can see the fish.. to see the fish take left from the west gate entrance.

A good short getaway island with beach from the main island. No bus over, the nearest bus stop is at Punggol sertlement. One of the few places left without much urban development. A simple running/cycling track. No shop so be prepared when going. Close during the night time so make sure to plan the journey there well. If in need food or drink, need to return back to Punggol settlement.

Can get quite hot during noon time. Around the June to August period, you might find huge ants with enormous wings so better watch out. I think there should be some mosquitos around here but overall a good place to stroll around and admire the natural beauty of nature.

Would go again just to see some sunset. Just a note if you're going near nightfall, there's no lighting there. So make sure you have sufficient battery or a powerbank to keep your phone charged for lights.

Its quite inaccessible, but a lovely escape from the modern city that is Sinagpore. On the island, it is as if you have been transported to a different world with a much more relaxed pace of life. It can get busy on the weekends, but if you are able to come here on a weekday, do yourself a favour and visit. Do note that this is a popular location for wedding photography so be prepared to see bridal gowns and other photography props around.

  • 4/5 M S. 4 years ago on Google
Went there after renovation (still ongoing for broadwalk area). The new additional track is nice, along the water/sea (at the southern part of the island). Morning time is nice since this track is shaded from the sun. Took the northern track when going back, it's paved so the track is clearer and easier to walk to. Free taking space is limited, but the paid parking space is quite big. But if you going there in the weekend afternoon, finding parking space would be quite difficult.

A place that makes you feel like you're not in Singapore (except for the heat). They are still building out more paths and shelters to make it more family friendly. But beware of the beach areas as there are sandflies there. If you're planning to head there, remember to bring the following! 1. Insect repellent 2. Umbrella 3. Water (preferably 1L or 2x 500ml) 4. Sun block lotion (if you dont want to get sun burnt!) I usually rent a bike from Punggol Safra to get here btw! There are signs everywhere so you will definitely be able to find your way there!

Beautiful place. Calm and relaxed. Can rent bikes from pungol settlement bike shop closeby (recommend the two hour package. Can get basket one to put dog in like we did). Paths are paved and easy to find your way. Access to multiple beach fronts. Maybe not best place to go swimming, but nice stops all along the path. Can find monkeys, reptiles, boars, and chameleons as well! Great for a weekend outing with family. (Photos from Instagram: the.LAkids.sg)

  • 4/5 ATL T. 4 years ago on Google
Coney island is accessible from 2 entrances east and west. Both connected to the pcn and best enjoyed with a bicycle. Great for nature lovers or a place for a hike. Bad points beware of sandflies near the beach, and there is no shelter in case of heavy rain. We did not spot any wild animals such as boars or monkeys but in case of encounter, do not provoke them by yelling. Keep your valuables close and do not feed them. No fishing is allowed in the area too. The rocky terrain is relatively flat with a few small potholes. Last of all do not leave any litter in the area.

  • 4/5 Sateesh 4 years ago on Google
Nice place for cycling, still not known to many people.

  • 5/5 ZA H. 2 years ago on Google
The rustic style of the place makes anyone with the love of the outdoors fall in love with this place. Even on a Sat, the place is relatively quiet with minimal human traffic and this adds to the charm of this island. Whether you're looking to change the scenery of your early morning runs or you just wanna stroll by the sea to catch the sunset, this place gives you that calm you may need amidst your hectic and noisy day-to-day life. If you're quiet enough and stick around a little longer, you might be lucky enough to spot the small animals living in between the lush greenery: migratory birds, lizards and butterflies. Overall, the place has been very well maintained by NParks and exudes a cooling atmosphere despite Singapore's heat. Remember to check the weather forecast before making a trip to the little island! Shelters are available but are few. You wouldn't want to be caught in the rain. Also, I'd advise to visit the toilet at the carpark area (located at the West Entrance) before you start your walk into the island as the place only has one toilet and it's all the way at the other end at the East Entrance. There is another carpark a few metres from the East Entrance which boasts some restaurants for you to have breakfast or dinner at. This area is right across from Punggol NPC. Have fun at Coney Island! Be kind to the flora and fauna!

Although popular on a sunday mid morning, there are some quiet spots to be found. Most people congregate around the small beaches along the west side of the island. East side is quieter. Heard that there are a lot of sand flies but we were lucky, also we didn't linger on the beaches...

Given the sandy nature of the soil, and the salt water abounding, whilst the outer areas are given over to mangroves, the interior of Coney Island is surprisingly less jungle, and more akin to a British young forest on a balmy summer's day. For those missing home and only being able to travel at most a 30km radius from your condo, it offers a short, but effective jolt to faraway lands during less Pandemical (TM) times. It's also quiet as it's a bit of a schlep (by SG standards) to get to (i.e. involves a bit of walking). Combined with a coffee and a stroll from the Punggol Waterway, a very enjoyable day out.

My Coney Island was always in Brooklyn, NY. Was surprised to find this! Looks like a beautiful place to visit.

East promenade under construction. Have to detour to get to beach. Lots of rubbish on the beach 🗑

If you want to experience the woods in the Hussle buzzle Singapore, then this is for you... Glad this is not commercialized with food centers...

👍👍 Great for nature lovers and cyclists. Peaceful and filled with pine trees, with awesome fresh air and cold-beachy breeze. You can rent out a bike nearby. The nature island-park also just a few kilometres away from Punggol MRT. Nice place to spend time and unwind after a long busy work load.

👍👍 Another of my kids' favourite places. 1) Pond full of terrapins. The wall at the side is quite low so when the terrapins climb up, children get to see terrapins up close and personal. There's alot of birds too flying around the pond so it's a pretty sight to see. 2) Toilet : It's just behind the p...
