The food is not that fantastic than the hawker. U can just look at the price that it cost more than 150% more. Not worth the buy. The whole zoo slowly walkabout will takes u probably 4 to 5 hrs. Hence fill up your stomach and come after lunch time. By time u finish, u can go back dinner. Fill up your water bottles, the drink here is extremely expensive. Unless no choice u desire for cold drink or ice cream due to heat which cost you to fill your thirst.

Considering it is inside the zoo, the prices are a bit higher. Food is not that bad also. Can be crowded during meal times. Huge food option. Near a very spacious restrooms.

Food is so bad. Everything is super low quality ingredients . Eggs not cooked properly . Had the breakfast buffet for $45 is way overpriced. Would be worth it if they had decent food but it’s like a 2 star hotel breakfast buffet. Shame as it could be something really special

enjoyed the chicken rice and was pleasantly surprised since it’s tourist attraction food. chicken was tender and the lotus soup is really good! rice and chilli could be better, and when we were there we didn’t realise this was the most popular stall and had to queue for really long so take note of the queue lengths

We came here for breakfast in the wild and then again for lunch since it’s the only place to eat in the zoo. Buffet was ok but not great. The items weren’t refreshed often and so we missed out on a lot of them. Some were just substandard, like the hashbrowns were all soggy and the fruit on the fruit platter was underripe. At lunch the queue was massive and we waited 20 mins to place our order.

Not bad for a tourist attraction food court. Prices are obviously way more than what we’d normally pay outside of the zoo as locals, but it is only fair to pay a premium considering where we were. Discounts available with Friends of the Zoo membership. Halal-certified stalls means there’s something for everyone, which is great. Food options are pretty good, you can get classic SG fare like chicken rice, banmian, biryani, and other popular ‘newer’ dishes like Mala Xiangguo. There are also Western dishes like fish and chips. Overall nice for a quick lunch. Would suggest to go earlier at 11am to avoid the crazy crowd.

Very bad management. It was raining and the restaurant was full but they keep taking orders and selling the food leaving customers coming in all standing around with no seats. Not to mention any form of safe distancing present at all

Breakfast in the Wild at the Ah Meng Restaurant is one special dining experience that let's you dine in a restaurant with animals roaming nearby. The buffet selection is fabulous, offering both local and western dishes. The main highlights are the animals that they bring out during the breakfast time - all with photo sessions. There is usually a long queue to take photos with the Orangutans. My overall experience was satisfactory.

Came here for MND Family Day 2023, the restaurant's standards have never changed, consistently practicing the art of scamming tourists and locals alike. Chicken Rice too much bones Ice Lemon Tea you're only getting 1/4 of a cup since 3/4 is filled with ice.

Worst queuing system ever. Whole families including young kids are expected to wait in a long queue to make initial payment. No allowed to find seats until initial payment is made. (20mins) Next, you take the receipt and queue again in various stalls. We happened to buy 3 different set meals from 3 different stalls and didn't realise that we had to queue separately. So we had to queue 5 times to eat one meal. (Including queuing for a table) Around 11am started, only got to eating around 1145am.

Normal prices, taste pretty decent although very small portion given the price, and always busy. Tables are reduced and very limited. Everyone would end up being a vulture waiting for a table.

Very nice food. Clean area. And they keep to a minimum number of tables which is pretty ok. We've tasted the Nasi lemak here. Portion is just right, with acar (vege pickles), peanuts and the chicken is big portion. Parata is given with a very tasty chicke curry. Thumbs up. Halal too.

Good to find a place for lunch inside the Zoo. The food however is quite standard. Ingredients are mostly the same across every dish, even between adult and kids meal, only the main and the plate varies. Price are expensive since it’s a tourist spot. Only wish that they can be more creative and have more variety in their dishes. The outdoor space is spacious though.

EH WAH The food standard srsly improved!!!! Mala not bad quite spicy (But not too spicy for me of course 😉🐺) Then the tandoori chicken also bomb! Nyonya curry also 👍 then salmon bento also 👍. OK LA FOOD JUST YUMMY LA. 🔥🔥🔥 Went around 12pm and there were seats inside (aircon) and outside (no aircon). You have to order from the counter outside so I majorly embarrassed myself by trying to order from inside. AWKWARD! The restaurant was a little dirty but whatever! Thanks guys

Ok the only air conditioning non fast food eating place inside the zoo. Expect to pay more as you are held ransom by the park. For majority of the world's population that eats pork , you will find none here as it made compromises to others that doesn't. I am just wondering would they turn this place as veggan to made further compromises to the veggan ? Ok in its defense, the food is decent enough. The portion is ok too. Expect to be flooded by park visitors during lunch peak. Finding a table maybe a challenge. Beverages is on really high price point. Calling it a restaurant is far fetch , it's a expensive food court suits its name better. In the hindsight, I'm wondering when will the stop milking on the name of the poor orang utan that has passed on for decades .

  • 4/5 Alicia Virlynn N. 2 years ago on Google
We ordered 4 chicken rice sets and we found the food rather tasty on the whole. The staff allowed us to choose all drumsticks for our sets. Price of the food a little on the ex side $10+ but since it is a tourist attraction, it is expected. I find the small cup of teh at $2.50 very ex tho. Another thing to take note if seated at bistro side (non-airconditioned): sometimes when the wind blows, there may be dried leaves flying down into your food or drinks. Remember to take cover otherwise you will have extra ingredients. 🤣

the laksa is actually really good with strong coconut and shrimp taste, many prawn and chicken and juicy taopok. Though this restaurant charges 2X, I did not expect to find such decent food at the zoo.

  • 1/5 Sekaran N. 2 years ago on Google
I understand the rental might be high in the zoo, hence the pricing but what i cannot accept is the quality of the food. The person serving at the cpunter were very polite and friendly. But the food is very bad. I am fine with paying 10 dollars for a chicken rice but at least serve quality food. Pathetic tbh.

  • 1/5 mufizal m. 3 years ago on Google
Please improve on your food quality. Just because you are in the zoo does not mean you can negate the quality of the food. Horrible.

  • 3/5 Clare M. 1 year ago on Google
Pretty much the only option once you get into the zoo. The food and smoothies were fine but it took ages to order and collect even though the zoo wasn't particularly busy. Prices are high for what you get - particularly the drinks (about $10 for a smoothie)

  • 4/5 Kyaw A. 1 year ago on Google
Great food options, good quality dishes. However crazy queue and waiting time, so be prepared for that. The outdoor seating area is amazing, if you choose right table( most right side), feels like having a meal in the forest. Overall good experience.

Utensils are all dirty, they must be investigated for proper hygiene. Really disgusting food too, not worth the price. I could only eat the steamed vegetables and salad from the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box even though it was in a pool of water. The chicken looks revolting, unseasoned gooey skin, not thoroughly cooked and not proper Chicken Teriyaki (not marinated and not in pieces, just one big chicken piece). Just because the skin is charred doesn't mean it is cooked well. Customers must also put the marinate sauce on the chicken but it is too salty and watery. The sauce is so inconsistent it made me sick to even try it. It is 90% water and it even separates from the dense part of the sauce which sinks. They also expect you to pay for serviettes and water. Please use the vending machines or purchase the snacks instead of the "cooked" meals. The miso soup was okay, not a generous serving and too thick. Not worth $16.90. Not even worth $1. I couldn't eat this again.

Laksa was good, chicken rice was terrible! Laksa was full of flavor but the chicken rice was dry, lacking flavor, and the chicken was too cold. The saving grace for the chix rice was the braised tofu Kopi was good too

The fish and chips was so bad. The fish was so dry and the exterior was soft and doughy. My 2 year old son nearly choked while eating. It's so disappointing for 18 bucks worth of food. Pls do better.

Singapore zoo is huge so eventually we got hungry. We had 2 soups, not so bad but we were not impressed either. It was a reasonable solution for us and our 2 kids.

  • 4/5 MD B. 9 months ago on Google
The breakfast in the wild is quite nice, I liked the food and drinks. As it is quite expensive (45$ adults, $35 kids 6-12) I guess I would only recommend to visit with kids under 6, otherwise together with the necessary zoo entrance it would be a really heavily overpriced experience.

Overall the experience is good and walkable. But the food is on the high side. And their chicken rice is prob the worst I ever tasted in my 40yrs livelihood in SG. And it's 13.90 some more.....

The breakfast at the Singapore Zoo surpassed expectations. Amidst the wildlife, it offered a diverse buffet with local delights. The value for money made it an exceptional experience—highly recommended for a memorable start to your day! And there is a animal show performance and get your photos taken with the animals.

We ordered dry noodles, laksa and kampong chicken rice. The price is more on the expensive end but for a tourist place, it is ok. The food it self itself is pretty good, for example, the laksa is pretty good and the chicken rice is rather bland but ok. The dry noodles on the other hand, is not good. When we are eating, it started raining and the lights switched off, living us to eat in the dark. Disappointing.

  • 1/5 Ivan S. 3 months ago on Google New
The worst service in Singapore, I guess. There are no seats. Never. Not inside or outside. To get your food, you have to wait in three or four lines for each course. Then, you have to stand with these trays and wait for one of the tables to be vacated. If you're lucky, you get seated. If you're not. Eat on the floor, I guess. The staff won't help you. The food tastes like nothing. And it gets completely cold while you're trying to find a seat. I ended up just taking my dish to the trash. Don't come here. Ever.

The horrible chicken rice ever, even my kid did not like it.Even saw a full cup of rice being left by the nearby table.Testament to the horridness. Ordered spicy wok for myself, the rice taste like those rejected inventory Dont get me started with the nasi lemak. Super bland. The only acceptable item? Coffee! Damn it! I give them 1 star but really its not even worth 0~~

Ah Meng restaurant is one of few places you can go for a meal in the Zoo apart from going to KFC. There are a total of seven stalls that sell a wide range of local fare such as chicken rice and noodles as well as those that sells Japanese and Western cuisines. The prices might be a little steep than outside but this is a tourist attraction so this is somewhat expected.

  • 3/5 Ben L. 3 years ago on Google
Did not expect much from an attraction cafe, but this laksa is very superficial - looks good, but has no spice. It is a sweet laksa, not sure if it's to cater to tourists tastes. Nasi lemak rice looks strangely green

  • 4/5 SZ L. 3 years ago on Google

Ah Meng restaurant is situated inside the Singapore Zoo and has about 7 stalls serving local, japanese and western food court style food. The price is higher than most food court which is expected for food outlet in tourist attraction. The nasi lemak set and laksa was surprisingly tasty and very generous in portion. Japanese teriyaki chicken rice was just ok and feels Abit more like canteen food. Overall still worth the money and fills the tummy if you are not keen on fast food.

Laksa chee cheong fun (rolled rice noodles) with fried chicken cutlet and a side of veggies. Made for a nice midday meal. Chicken was crispy and surprisingly not soggy after being drenched in a copious amount of curry. But the only sad thing was that the chee cheong fun didn’t really absorb the taste of the curry. After polishing off the curry in your mouth, the chee cheong fun was rather plain. Other than that it would have been a 5 stars for such a creative dish!

  • 3/5 Rachel L. 2 years ago on Google
Prices are costly but acceptable due it being a tourist area. The food is alright, not recommended for fussy eaters. But I would say the laksa was not too bad.

Unexpectedly nice authentic nasi lemak found in Singapore Zoo! Really didn’t expect the rice is so smell & taste nice with the hint of coconut. The sambal is just decently matching the rice. The chicken chop and achah are truely added bonus to the set.

Highlight of my lunch is the kopi! One shot of local coffee from coffee machine, pretty good coffee. Beans grinded on demand. I drank two cups (lunch and tea break)! Chicken rice set is good too (didn't take picture), flavourful rice (much better than my expectations!)

  • 3/5 Angela L. 3 years ago on Google
Crowded restaurant, slightly pricey if compare with hawker price, but still reasonable when it’s located in attraction point as zoo ( price between $8-$20). Ramen is nice but the spicy chicken rice was not good.

Didn't expect much from an attraction cafe, but the Economy Beehoon is surprising quite good. Though I would not say it's the best I have had before and it's quite expensive, but taking into consideration of the location and the limited choices around, I would say this is the best food to order here.

Nothing to expect much but just a friendly advise. This is just sharing and not complaining because you don't have any other choice besides bringing your own food from home. 1) a plate of nasi ayam/nasi lemak can cost u $9.90. 2) a cup of hot tea will cost u $2.50. 3) a cup of iced milo will cost u $4.00. Once again, it's just sharing but it's still depend on individual cause yes, it's time that we boost up our tourism industry.

Cleanliness is an issue. With Covid19, I don't understand how cleaning and sanitising the tables can be overlooked. The staff wiped the table once with a dirty rag and moved off. There's obvious bits of food still on the table. No spraydown, nothing. It wasn't even a busy morning.
