If you're a tourist or local, be it young or old, you will never regret visiting Palau Ubin. If you're looking for a place close to nature in order to destress from your work or school, this is the perfect place for you to do so. Highly recommend for you to come with friends and in at least group of 2 so that both of you can take care of each other in this island. Macaques and wild boar roam this place often and are visible in the public footpaths and cycling tracks. Please ensure that you do not carry or be seen with any snacks in your hand with the wild Macaques roaming around because the next moment you will be petrified and stunned as they whack havoc on you by stealing anything that you're holding on your hand. I have first hand experience as my bag of snacks got snatched away by this group of Macaques gang and I didn't even have anytime to react. Please just give it to them and don't try to snatch it back from them as they might scratch your hand if you try to. My advice is to try and find a secluded place without them around before opening your bag of snacks. The bicycles here are not the same price so do make sure you walk around the bicycle shops along the jetty area, check your prices before deciding on which bike. My advice is to try and get a new bike as their old ones which may be cheaper are really poorly maintained. I regretted choosing a cheapr but older mountain bike as compared to a new and more expensive one. The toliet amenities are poorly maintained and cared for as well, especially the females toilets. When we went on a weekend, my friend told me that it was all choked up and damn disgusting. Lastly, do prep yourself by downloading a pdf version of the island map on your phone for was referencing. Boat rides are 4 dollars sgd per person and boat uncle will only depart if there are 12 person onboard, do take note if you're coming on a weekday. Weekends no issues as the queue for boats is super long throughout the day. Bring your insect repellents and sunscreen as well, you will be thankful when you end your adventure here in ubin!

It's been years since I was back at Pulau Ubin. Imagine the shock of super long queue for the ferry ride over on 1st May 2022. Queued from 10am and reaching at Pulau Ubin around 11.30am. I remembered telling my friend I wanted to test out my new shoes on its water-resistance and stain-resistance claim while queuing... Should have kept my mouth shut... Do prepare cash for the boat ride, and spending on the island - $4 per person - additional $2 if you bring your own bike along My friend and I decided to have a meal on Pulau Ubin first before heading off to rent a bike. I am glad I brought insect repellent, and sunblock. Should have brought along some muscle pain reliever spray as well. The bikes we rented were $30 each for full day usage, and we travelled from main village to the left side of the island, past the Jelutong Campsite, Chinese Village, and basically around the Blue Square grade trail and back main village in 2hrs time (there's a few paths that are blocked). The view is very tranquil and despite us cycling just past noon, it does not feel that hot nor humid. Till this point, my shoes are still fairly white and stain free... Once we got back to the main village my friend decided to change his bike as the seat did not have much cushion. We bought some drinks as well before heading to the right side of the island, to Mamam Campsite. My friend decided the normal path is not challenging enough n we ended up in dirt tracks, mud, and slopes for the latter half of the trip, by the time we reached Chek Jawa Wetlands, I welcomed having to park the bicycles one side and just have a walk as a break (my knees hurts from riding upslope). The view is definitely worth the hike.. except too many people, with some trying to do tiktok videos here and there... Please avoid coming here on long weekends. By the time we reached back to the main village again, another 2 hrs had passed. I was ready to push my friend off the bumboat for turning my shoes into grayish white, but i lost about 1.5kg during this trip so the trip is still good 😁

Nice place for one day outing to explore nature. Located at north east of Singapore, its a 15 mins boat ride from Changi. Boat ride costs 4 sgd. Rented bicycle are available when you get down at the Island. It would cost somewhere between 10-20 sgd based on the condition of the cycle. Eat and drink options limited, only near the entrance. Better to get your own food and drinks. Beware of wild boars, will not harm you but will snatch any food items from you.

Excellent place for a weekend break. There are numerous view points such Puaka Hill, Butterfly Hill and etc. Either you can rent bicycle or you can walk around if you are energetic. I prefer the latter since you enjoy the natural beauty while you are walking. There are number of walking trails. Sensory trail is good. Go with shoes since there are some places which have ants and some other insects. Nothing seems dangerous though. There are number food stalls as well. They accept PayNow in most stores. Hence, no need for taking physical cash. But the ferry drivers only accept cash $4 per person. If you are taking your bicycle with you , then there would be an additional $2. This is just one way. Up and down it would be either $8 or $12.

Nice place to spend a day exploring something natural in Singapore. Hire a bike and and ride around, a few vending machines for drinks and there are a few places to eat - but do be aware if it is busy then best to bring some snacks.

One of my favorite places in Singapore to ride a bike! Not very hot to ride a bike even in the afternoon compared to other open places like East coast park or bedok reservoir park. One of the places in Singapore that's closest to nature, wetland, monkey and short hiking place "Puaka Hill" is the highlight of Pula Ubin. Although it's amazing to see animals like monkeys, beware of them as they could snatch your belongings. If you bring alone some food or snacks with some plastic bags, better to keep it in your backpack, rather than exposing it by leaving it in a bicycle carrier. Monkeys are cute but they can be naughty

A place for nature lovers. Has multiple walking and bicycle trails, canoeing, campsites, and can do a small hike too. Short ferry ride from Singapore which costs 4 SGD for 1 person for 1 way. Extra 2 dollars if you are transporting your bike. Ferryman only accept cash. Can rent a bicycle or canopy from the island, but the island has only a few restaurants and drinks stalls. Prices are average. Has multiple campsites. Bring a lot of water, a sun cream, cap and wear comfortable clothes and shoes that can do activities like trekking and bicycle riding. Bring an insect repellent if you are not comfortable with insects. Better to take enough cash as some stalls only accept cash.

Came back to this place after 10 years. Spent a couple of hours cycling, exploring this island. My fav place here is Puaka Hill. A short hike up and you get to see gorgeous views. I would say it’s quite convenient to move around with bike, but if you are walking, be prepared to spend even much longer. Definitely a place I will be back again if I want to get away from city life for a while.

Lovely half-day “getaway” from Singapore. Thankful that the ferries make it easy to get there and back. Although prices have gone up (now $4 per trip instead of $2 because of covid), it is well worth the trip to this little natural island. You can almost pretend you’re somewhere else (Vietnam... Thailand... Ecuador...) Go on a day with blue skies and good weather, the temperature might be hot but the views will be so worth it! Bring lots of water!

Great place to be off the grid, and be adventurous into the nature, this island is one of the last kampung area from the mainland, it used to have granite queries within the most parts of the island, good place to go with friends or family for hikes or cycling along the island. Love it's old school vibe though. Last visited: Went there on 16 Dec with my aunt and wife for a hike at west side of the island, I must say most of the kampungs has been removed to make way for preserving back to its natural state, love it’s wild life and natural environment, but I’m missing it’s old school vibe from the last time I visited, pretty much alot has changed. Since covid came along, these islanders had no choice but to move to the mainland. Overall love the hiking.

Some of the pictures we took while cycling around Pulau Ubin's Butterfly Hill, Ketam Mountain Bike Trail, Ketam Quarry, Sensory Trail, Jelutong Campsite where we saw hornbills, monkies and wildboar running across in front of our track. We saw people fishing in rivers, hiking in and out of hiking trails and even canoeing in mangrove and open sea.

Mostly untouched natural lands in Singapore territory.  If tired of watching man made marvels in Singapore can take a day break here . In full natural forestry area can ride bicycle in calm mind.... You can reach here  through small ferry. Now they are Charging 4 $ per person . In the island you can hire bicycles from 10 $ to 40 $ depend on its type & quality.  I will suggest  to hire a bicycle....Definetly  decide to walk won't be a good decision to roam all over the island . Watching the entire island view from watching tower ....walking through the sea in a bidge....view of  deep blue lake in the mid of an island from a top of hill  are unforgettable experiences you will get. Don't miss this all....it's always advisable to visit here in good health condition . You need to  travel around 5 km in bicycle or by walk....also always expect a sudden rain here....enjoy your time with nature for a day here ....😇🤗👍

Going here, you must take a 15-minute ferry ride from Changi point ferry terminal. Can bring your own bike for an additional minimal fee. The island’s ambience was relaxing and calm, we just roam around and took a nap in one quiet spot. Just very nice to stay in such a peaceful state even for a short time. Can also use bike to explore the island if you prefer so. Just fun to share as well my funny and memorable experience here where I was chased by a monkey😂, so unluckily did not reach the observation tower. Definitely give me a reason to come back again✌️

A sunny Saturday on an island. The life on the island is peaceful and laid back. Everything seems slower and calm. A good respite from the city skyscrapers and malls. 15 mins from the Changi Ferry Terminal using bumboat. Hello Ubin Island! Back to the nature.

Nice, different thing to do in Singapore. Love the vibe, cheap $4 boat ride each way. Only complaint is that a lot of the little drunk stands were closed. It can get hot as you get into the jungle and it would be nice to have more places to sit and have a drink.

An island off mainland singapore, a place where you can rent bicycles for the whole day and enjoy the peace and nature there! Occasionally during seasons they will have grand religious ceremony where many will gather to pay their respect to the deity. You'll have to take a boat from changi village here so do plan your route well in advance!

Great place to spend the day. Only big investment will be the cost of Taxi to Changi point ferry terminal if you are not living in the East coast. We spent half a day as a family. Two kids aged 10.5 and 7. We biked for the most part. Really nice tracks and most parts are covered by the canopy. We got there by 8am and spent a nice 3.5 hours. Will do it again for sure

Pulau Ubin is a nice nature place for family outing. However is the bad choice for taking meal there. The "fresh" seafood restaurant price is not cheap with that kind of taste and serving. Bring own food and drink, there are more worthy food at Changi Point hawker center after returning to main land.

Went on 1 Aug long weekend, post of Hari Raya Haji. Due to safety distancing of pandemic the boat ride should only fetch 9 passengers with $4 each, while they are not really comply to this rule, there are still 12 passengers on the bot but the price is $4 each. The bike rental seem like double up of normal weekend, we rent a bike(1 rider) which looks more new and better, it cost us $30 per day. It is unexpected costy short trip.

Pulau Ubin offers natural habitat to the flora and fauna of Singapore. It still has the kampung feeling when you step onto this island. It has a vast of history to uncover if you like to dig into it. Sight seeing is the best here with a bicycle. You may want to paddle around the island on a canoe. It is the best experience.

Great place to spend a day and see nature while biking. Food options are limited so being a snack or picnic. Didn't come during low tide but probably would be even more pretty on the water then. Contrary to what you may read, there are vans on the island but they are for helping folks who may not be able to hike or bike and are reasonably priced.

It is a good weekend gateway to escape the city. The ferry capacity is 12 passengers and one way costs sgd 3. I went to the Pulak hill and the wetland only. I went there on foot and the time was about 45 mins one way to the wetland and 45 mins coming back. To hike the hill, it was Super easy too, just about 15 mins to go up to enjoy the view. Even you wanna ride a bike it is only 5 sgd for the whole day. Be careful of monkeys if you are carrying any fruits or plastic bag.

Loved visiting this chilled out little island, such a contrast to the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Recommendations: - Hire bikes to cycle around the island. The bikes aren’t the newest or highest of quality (but very cheap to rent) so make sure you test it out for functionality (gears and seat) before taking off. - Ditch the bike at points to take some of the marked walks and enjoy the beautiful lush foliage and wildlife. We didn’t come across any monkeys but saw large lizards, wild pigs and loads of butterflies. - Take mosquito repellent. We found the Tiger Balm patches to be very effective and can buy from most convenience stores. - Enjoy some fresh coconuts from the village or roadside stalls, can’t beat them! The only downside was that when we were wanting to leave the island we had to wait for around an hour. The bum boats don’t have a fixed schedule and only depart when they have a set number of people (around 12). Working by island time for a day is quite nice though, so make sure you don’t need to hurry back for something.

Pulau Ubin is another island off Singapore and is a great place for cycling and outdoor activities. We travelled there by bumboat from Changi Point Ferry Terminal. This is the best place for one day getaway from Singapore. Lovely place for nature lovers. Hire a good condition bike and ride around. Be careful while riding uphill and downhill as there are high chances of falling down. We covered 1/3 island in half day. There are coastal boardwalks and this pathway offers beautiful views of the sea on one side and other side can see forests, rocks and beaches. Must visit Jejawi Tower. Climb the tower and go to the top, it offers beautiful view of the island.

(Translated by Google) An outlying island in Singapore takes about 10 minutes by boat ($4 per person). The scenery is really good and it is worth a visit. To the island, you can rent bicycles around the island, between $8-20 new classes. I recommend the second shop that rents a bicycle. The service is good, and the chain will be replaced immediately. ⚠️ When renting a car, be sure to check the front and rear brakes and whether the tires are inflated enough. It is best to try a lap. The island is full of mountain roads and ramps. ✅ Chek Jawa has a special parking place. Walk along the way, pass the beach, walk through the boardwalk, mangroves, and go back to the original parking place (hint: the bicycle does not need to be locked) There are signs on the road, follow along Won't get lost ✅ Puaka Hill also parked the car on the side of the road and climbed the hill to the top along the road, and you will see the scenery of the entire mine lake Wear lightly and pay attention to sun protection and mosquitoes (Original)

This is a wonderful experience to have if you are in Singapore. Remember to wear comfortable shoes. You can bring your own bicycle or can be rented from here..bicycle rental price for whole day between $13 - 40. You can rent a good condition one for $13. Before you rent the bicycle just go a trial ride and choose which is comfortable for you. There is a long way to ride around the island. So it's better having hand glouse. Bring some mosquito repellent, water bottles & snacks. There are some vending machines inside the island. Have some cash in your pocket. You can buy fresh coconut drink for $5 on the way.

Small island off Singapore. Nice sea. Nice trees. Can see different kinds of flora and fauna. A good escape away from the city life. Didn't manage to tour the whole island. Probably only half the island in a day? Very exhausting to cycle as there are a lot of slopes. Be careful when cycling on the slopes. Quite dangerous as the slopes are very steep.

Good place for exercise and mountain biking ! Better to bring water in or get it at the jetty. Both e drink store are close during my last 2 visits. You can't get any water till you are back at the jetty.

Loved being there. The ferry price is $4 per pax now. We went on Monday so the bike was for $20, a bike with baby carrier, and normal bike $15. We managed to spot wild boars, macaques and a few crabs too.

Crowded, dirty and a bit chaotic, doesn't feel like Singapore at all. All the bikes are in very poor condition. Old folks running the place are nice but this place is in dire need of an upgrade.

Great place to get back to "some " nature in tiny Singapore. Very very very important to stress the following points: 1. Please DO NOT feed the wild animals. In fact please avoid bringing food with you when hiking or cycling. 2. Respect the fact that YOU are the intruder here. The animals here are wild, and WILL attack if provoked, approached or see you eating or drinking. During our family's trip there, we've seen a lady got attacked and badly injured by a wild boar. Plus a monkey almost attacked my son, when he lifting his water bottle for a drink. Other than that it's a great place to go hiking. Finally please remember that you still need to wear mask, and maintain social distancing (virus don't care about geography!

It's a good place for anyone who want to go for cycling and walking or even jogging in the nature with friends or family where you can't get it in the city so once in a while ,it's well recommend. The fare was 4sgd per boat trip. Renting bicycle I mean a decent bike will cost 15sgd. Took about 3-4 hours to complete the island by bicycle. If you're lucky you'll be able to find some animals like wild boar, monkeys, birds or even snakes .

I treat this place like a massive nature trail. It is known for its cycling mode of transportation, there are also many wild dogs around.

Wonderful place and the island glanced me my kampong memories... The island is full of greenery with playful monkeys. Perfect place for beginners cyclist. Ubinians (people there are very friendly and they share their personal feelings with tourist.) The ferry from Changi ferry point terminal to pulau ubin island cost $4/person, extra charges for cyclists. we also went for Tree planting event under NParks.

A nice place that you can get away to, from the mad rush of our everyday life in Singapore. Good place to be closer to nature, birds, monkeys, boars, squirrels, etc. Good place to learn about the local fruits trees. It's like going back to Singapore in the 60s. To reach Ubin, you need to take the ferry at the Changi Village ferry terminal. Boat Fee is $4 one way per head.

Great island to explore with family. Recommend pulau Ubin bike tour with Jeff - cycling and walking great way to see the island to visit the nature and mangroves.

This review is for the boat service that does not start until you have a party of 12. This is exasperating especially if you are trying to get back to Sg main island. Have been waiting on a Sat morning at 10:15 for 30 mins now.

A very good place for full day outing while spending time close to nature. Very green place and full of flower, trees and different wild life - birds, butterflies, boars, squirrel etc. You can hire cycles to roam around on the island, it has pretty good cycle tracks throughout. Also good sea food options, including fresh coconut water. Loved it.

  • 5/5 Abhinav J. 1 year ago on Google
Rustic charming piece of Singapore! You can spend a few hours here exploring the island. Easily accessible via boat from the Changi village jetty point. They charge $4 one way and take off as soon as there are a few passengers. The island itself is full of mangroves and various trails to explore. Can be hot and humid. So be prepared. Children would like the ecosystem. No vegetarian eating options on the island, so be prepared.

Scenic island with a lot of activities such as hike on a hill, multiple quarries and camping sites, butterfly hill, etc. There is also a shrine of a German girl and a Chinese temple along with Chinese and Muslim cemetaries. One can reach there via a ferry ride (approx. 15-20 minutes, $4 per adult, extra $2 for carrying your own bicycle) from Changi Village bus terminal. Bicycles (starting from $10 onwards) are available for rental on the island or van rides are also there; one can also walk although it would take more time. Board with information or stories related to the shrine, would have been better.

  • 4/5 Jasz T. 9 months ago on Google
Plenty of bike rental places but food and drinks (cendol, coconuts etc.) were slightly expensive. Not much scenery along the trail towards the shrines but there are many options of trails to choose from based on difficulty.

Fun spot to go to if you’ve got a long weekend in Singapore and are looking for a fun day trip without leaving the country. Easy enough to get to and céreo my easy to wander and explore the island. After about 5 hours we were ready to sit and relax and couldn’t think of cycling more, so it probably depends upon your own threshold but you can do a fair bit in 4-5 hours.

  • 3/5 Michael L. 5 months ago on Google
Beautiful place, experienced another side of Singapore. The jungle is not so child friendly. The wild monkeys can be quite aggressive.

Great scenic piece to bring the family away from urban hustle and bustle Take a quick bum boat ride from the Changi ferry point near Changi village for center. Current rates $4 per person. Rent a bike or hike, or rent an island van, your choice... remember to bring mosquito spray! We went to the puaka hill overlooking the old quarry. Quiet and scenic pictures! also tried the mountain bike trail, easier blue square one with the kids is doable not too tough. When back at the jetty area, have an ice cold drink or a bite to rest and relax... Will definitely come again! 😎
