TL;DR - Good place to bring your girlfriends and wives for a date. The prawns here are almost peeled so you don’t have to help them peel. I was told there's almost a queue everyday at peak hours and it's worth your calories. I had an enjoyable huge bowl of noodles with huge prawns. Very yummy and shiok. The prawns were very fresh and nice though I expect them to be already tasteless after being cooked for a long while in the broth. The broth was the bomb - very rich prawn taste. And they give you a generous serving of fiber - the beansprouts. I had iced barley and it was good too. Return again? Yes!

14June2023 1.30pm I always love to come here for prawn noodles. Small $6.50 big one $9.50 over here I don’t worry about seats. As when the place is crowded, there will be a staff providing assistance for a table. The prawns are big enough and the soup is tasty and yet light. I love it that they are willing to refill soup. Must try and highly recommended.

East coast really be bringing the heat. This bowl of prawn broth is too rich for me to enjoy it as often as some people do but I’m glad I made my way here to try it out. Love the fried shallots on top, the cloudy rich prawn broth and the condiments on the table so you can fine tune your own bowl of pleasure. The man behind the counter recommended me to go with the mix noods so of course I’m gonna listen. Looking at everyone else table, the real move here is to order the barley drink. I did not do that, but bet I’ll do that next time. Lot of auntie love here as well, it looks like plenty of returning customers as the people were friendly with all the staff. Big family energy here for sure.

Our go to place for quality prawn mee. Normal size prawns work for me though the ones in the pic are the jumbo prawns. Not the biggest I have had but definitely fresh. Can't be sure but the soup also seems to be different for the jumbo prawns. Order prawn fritters on the side to complete your meal.

Located along a rather busy roadside, first thing you would notice is the queue that doesn't seems to end during peak hours especially Breakfast timings till Lunch time. So avoid those timings if you would prefer a shorter queue! But having said that, the queue are actually quite fast moving, and pretty much depending on the available seats (or the speed of people eating inside. 🤔 ) Ordered a Large sized and a cup of Sourplum juice for this visit. Prawn noodle standard is still the same as a couple of years back when i last visited. Fresh prawns, thick and savoury broth! Paired with sourplum juice which is a good mix of sweetness and sourness.. Awesome. 💯

Bad service. Cocky attitude Ordered dry noodles, gave soup ones. Did not want to trouble them so we just brush it off and carried on with our meal. the boss' son took the order. Not the first time they gave the wrong order. We ordered extra noodles. Because of the wrong order, we scoop out most of the noodles and transferred them to a smaller bowl. Still, The noodles then became "fat" and we wanted a small bowl of extra soup (small bowl, those kind that dry noodles gives). However, to our surprised, he said a bowl of soup cost $3. We also told him that we just wanted a small bowl, not a refill. He then mentioned that they don't give free soup, it has to be charged. Plus, we have to take our bowl there to do so. 1. wrong order 2. Bad service, cocky attitude A regular customer since years ago with my parents. Priced increase, food became not as good over the years. Service and attitude not good since beginning but worsen because of pride and ego. Boycotting.

Back after a long while. Parking is still difficult but there is a orderly queue system. Need to queue again inside the shop to place order. The Ngoh Hiang is good. The prawn noodles soup is without doubt one of the best in Singapore. However, seems to me its less flavorful compared to my past visits.

It's worth the time and trip to try their menu. I was surprised on how tasty the soup was, and you can really relish the fresh taste of prawn and it goes well together with the meat taste from the pig tail. On the side, I had some fritters as well, which compliments the main dish. I ordered the small portion which is $6.50, just nice with an order of fritters for me. But if you're a big eater, they have one or two more options for you :-) It's definitely a great value for your money and indulgement.

Avoid weekend dine in, takeaway recommended. Order the Jumbo prawn @$12.50 to try. Comes with 5 half’s of jumbo prawns and the rest of the ingredients are the same. Order the small prawn version and it came 4 half’s of smaller prawns @$6.50. 五香is a must have with prawn noodle 😋 Crispy white prawn cracker is good 👍

Walked in at 0830hrs on a Sat morning. The crowd is near capacity, with steady inflow of customers. Fuss free ordering. The prawn is big and fresh, soup is nice, not too salty. Pig tail was nicely done Will surely come again

This famous prawn mee restaurant on East Coast Rd serves really good, delicious and authentic prawn mee that have grabbed many of our taste palates. There was a small queue before we were able to enter. There is not much waiting time after we ordered the food. The prawn mee broth is sweet, umami and savoury, goes well with the giant butterflied river prawns that are juicy and fresh, peels easily from the shell. There are the occasional pork fat cracklings which hits the spot in the soup. The noodles are a perfect match with the soup and prawns. You can top up the soup if you need at the counter. Do try the pork ribs which were super tender and flavourful. The fish cakes are decent and compliments the prawn mee. Recommended to try the sour plum or lemon drink. Priced fairly reasonable. This definitely is the most sought for prawn mee in Singapore these days.

The prawn noodles are not large in portion though the price is high from $6.50 for the most basic option. The noodles have a springy texture and taste good with the sauces. But I can find cheaper and yet tastier prawn noodles elsewhere. The Wu Xiang has its hits and misses. They served with a pink sweet sauce while the mild spicy sesame sauce is the one that brings out the flavour of all the fried pieces. Still the beancurd taste flat while the ngoh hiang and prawn fritter were the highlights. Overall, the whole plate can be good enough for me to come back the second time, which is why I have two pics to share.

This is one of my must go list in Singapore. Just a kind reminder that this noodle shop closes every Tuesday. The staff guide me to order the noodle ( yellow or white or mixed with yellow and white noodles) then point me to sit near the entrance of the door with a bit cooler air, coz I’m sweating. The prawn soup is rich of flavor, prawn is fresh and very delicious. The deep fried items was ok but personally not my favorite.

My favourite prawn noodles - flavourful but not salty. I wish that the soup can be hotter. I did not feel thirsty after eating. I like the thicker type of bee hoon. I usually choose the bee hoon soup as well as a set of Ngor Hiang. Systematic way of managing the flow of customers. We can pay via PayNow. Stoic but polite service. I parked my car along Martha Road and walked back to the main road where the shop is located.

Delicious prawn noodles. The best part is the prawn broth, it's really good with real prawn taste. It's not too sweet and I didn't taste too much msg in it. Fried shallot is crispy and aromatic. Prawn wise it's quite big, but the prawn seems like not too fresh imo, because the texture is a little bit mushy.

Meat soup was on point, but when you take prawn only, the umami drops a star... So best advice: take the meat & prawn soup then pass the meat to your friends & family... (Best of both worlds). Ngoh Hiang is above average but compliments well. Parking is always an adventure here... ;)🤙

Two staffs nice....drinks uncle rude, cashier rude, backstaffs lady rude.. not to me, but to the auntie in front of me.. service fast..the dry noodles too salty I had to take a sip of drink for every mouthful.. mouthful because I could wait to finish....soup is just fishy, prawny... don't even know how to describe it .. not a big fan of cut up prawns... Taste & texture doesn't feel full.. So.. having said that...why is it full house everyday? I mean I think it's something that anyone can cook if this is the standard. Even a simple bowl from underrated stalls taste better than this... So, it's a disappointment. Lousy food, waste of time.

This old prawn noodles shop offers a genuine taste of tradition. The prawns, with roe, are impressively large and fresh, while the soup boasts a rich and flavorful essence. A solid choice for those who appreciate classic prawn noodles done right. P.S. We ordered the $13.50 big prawn dry noodles

Been visiting this place for years and man it always brings a smile to my morning face 😊 The sheer amount of umami broth in this bowl is top notch 👨‍🍳💋. It’s got a very nice balance of prawn and pork stock and you can tell it’s one of those places where the broth from the previous day just gets added on to the next day and overtime the flavour explodes exponentially. The icing on the top is their homemade shallot oil which helps push the bowl just over the edge. Prices start from $6.50 and they do offer combo dishes such as pork ribs 🐷 and prawn but it definitely pays to upgrade to their Jumbo Prawn Mee. At just $13.50, you get HUGE and meaty prawns 🦐 which has a better bite and not to mention a more satisfying experience. Follow me on Instagram @littlemissramensg for more food reviews!

Nice fresh jumbo prawns noodles. I don't mind trying another round. It's more value to get jumbo prawns as shown in pic for $12.50(2.5 prawns). Compare the jumbo prawn size I placed next to the $6.50 prawn(1 only) and pork ribs(4pcs)! Fried fritters and chilli sauce was good too. The prawn soup was slightly fishy prawny to me but dry noodles mixed in chilli were ummamilicious!

Standard still remained the same as before. One of the top location in Singapore to get your prawn noodles. Always difficult to get a parking lot, but is definitely worth the trip down here. You wouldn't regret it.🥰

This highly successful Prawn 🦐 Noodle shop is well organized and has good seating and good staff. Some might say it is overrated as its soup is not as “prawny” as “Whitley Road Hae Mee” or the “Albert Street Prawn Mee stalls”. However, their prawns 🍤 are big, fat and fresh but strangely lacks the distinct prawn 🍤 taste. It is still very tasty and worth a visit.

Tried the dry version today but still prefer the soup version. The prawns and noodles have the best flavours when soaked in the rich broth. Ngor Hiang was good as always.

#BeachRoadPrawnNoodleHouse - located at 370/372 East Coast Road So yummy! Prawn & Pork Rib Noodles is a delightful culinary experience! The prawn and pork rib noodles are incredibly flavorful, with a perfect blend of succulent meats and savory broth. The fried Ngoh Hiang is a must-try too, crispy and bursting with delectable flavors. A true gem for anyone craving delicious Asian cuisine by the beachside! Highly recommended! 🍜🍤🥢

For me...this prawn noodle is more to the traditional taste...a bit mild but still tasted good. Prawns are fresh but innards were not removed. The fried stuffs and lime juice are nice.

Ordered Jumbo prawn dry noodles $13.50 I actually don't think it is worth the price. Overall : 2.5 / 5 Taste is decent and soup is robust. Didn't feel thirsty after, which is good. And for a Jumbo $13.50, it is really small portion, you won't be able satisfy your hunger. Prawns are sliced half to make the numbers, I guess. And as you can see from the photo , the prawn's intestinal tract isn't clean properly as well. Would really recommend get the normal prawn noodles if you happen to be there. Other wise, it is not really worth travel there just for a bowl of prawn noodles.

  • 4/5 Ken L. 7 months ago on Google
Been here previously and was here again. Service improved. Not pushing and more customer focus. The prawn 🦐 noodle still as good but must say that there are many other good ones in 🇸🇬 Singapore these days. So nice but nothing exceptional. Spacious dining hall so you need not worry about seats. However, Parking is very very bad. East Coast Road is unparkable.. 😂 One good reason to come here for your prawn noodle fix is that you can have more soup.. Same as the one in Bedok. 6.5 for normal 9.5 for the one with pork ribs Skip the pork ribs one (too expensive and small little pieces of hardened meat) unless it's your first time eating pork ribs prawn noodle.

Overhype prawn noodles , can you imagine paying $7 for 2 tiny not fresh prawns and extra noodles , soup is good but not worth the price , maybe is they become famous that’s why they take advantage. Overall not worth the trip there is a lot of stalls that are much better and value for money.

  • 4/5 Jatita 7 months ago on Google
Tasty and rich flavored broth, tender pig's tail and perfectly cooked shrimps. Can choose two different noodles in one bowl for a varied taste and texture experience, which is good. The portions were a bit small. Perhaps I should have gone fot the large one. Also, more bean sprouts would not hurt. Or other veggies. I don't know if it's normal in Singapore but they do not provide tissues... There is a sink at the side to wash hands after you're done though. Lime juice a bit to sweet to my liking.

We got here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and there was a queue, but it was a quick turnover and we didn’t have to queue for more than 15min? It’s very convenient as there’s a bus stop and parking in front of the shop. They accept paynow and cash. We ordered some ngo hiang which was good, and the prawn noodles which were really tasty. Not too ‘prawny’, good portion size, served quick, though a bit pricey in my opinion. They seem to have a good work system as they turnover was quick, and the place is relatively clean and quite airy (not too stuffy). Also, if you take away, you can skip the queue!

One of my top 3 fav prawn noodles in SG. Best comfort food for a rainy day. You can buy extra pork lard at the counter for a more sinful lunch. Wash everything down with lime juice and enjoy your food coma.

Favourite prawn noodles in East Coast. Ordered the big special and it is wonderful. The dry chilli is nice and hot, soup can get extras

  • 5/5 Wilson F. 7 months ago on Google
Been eating here since I was in my 20s. This place together with a couple of others are really the institutions that brought to life prawn noodles with big prawns. But each time I come, the price seems to have gone up some more. My usual medium portion is now $9.50 as opposed to my last visit when it was $8.80. Today again I ordered pork ribs / pig tail bee hoon/ mee combination, dry with chilli sauce. Cannot help but compare with my bowl of $6.50 pork rib / pig tail noodle yesterday. This place probably has more ribs and tail. The chilli sauce also has slightly more flavour. Meat wise, both serves ribs and tail with tender meat that comes off the bone easily. The soup is equally good, it exudes lots of prawn flavour. But today I find that their ribs is slightly more dry and chewy than usual. Also must order their Ngoh Hiang. Always nice to have something to nibble on before the star, prawn noodles, arrives. Perhaps the price will reach a point when I think the value of no longer there. I hope not. But until then, I will occasionally come and support them.

Delicious and flavorful broth with prawns, you have the option to select two different types of noodles in one bowl, offering a diverse taste and texture experience, which is delightful. I preferred the yellow noodle. The servings were on the smaller side. Maybe opting for the larger portion would have been a better choice. Additionally, a few more bean sprouts or other veggies would have been welcome.

There was a queue when I reach, about 4table of patrons but the queue moved fast and it was very organized. Uncle managing the queue was very nice, polite and systematic. The Wu Xiang was not bad, pricing reasonable. Food served very fast. The pink sauce was tasteless though, not sure what it is supposed to be. Ordered the prawn noodles with pork ribs, big portion at $13.50. It was served with 3pcs of prawns sliced into half (essentially 1.5pcs of prawn), and quite number of pork ribs in small pieces. Noodles was average. I would say the highlight is the tasty soup and the fresh prawns. The food here is not bad overall, but there are other prawn noodles that are on par or I dare say better than this. Will not travel down specially to have this again unless I’m in the area.

Wanted to try this the other night but went to lele pot instead as this outlet was closed after 4pm, didn't know that or do homework beforehand. Well the crowd itself shows how popular this venue is already. The only thing is you must know what to order next imo lol. We went for a sun morning gym treadmill regime and came here at 11+ am for "brunch". Early 11+ still have empty tables as you can see from the pic but anytime after you may have to queue and wait longer I suppose. Recommended to dine in whenever possible as you know lah soupy noodle and crispness of wu xiang. I ordered jumbo prawn mee soup ($12) while fiancée ordered normal prawn mee dry ($6) with drinks iced barley and lime juice ($3) lime to clear the oil as I read from earlier post hahaha. We also ordered wu xiang see the items from pic ($9.60) which I find just nice for a couple totaling about $30. Everything else is good for a coffee shop in landed estate imo except their prawn fritters can be improved more with fragnant I dunno how but i just compared with bedok 85 de. Soup was tasty even my fiancée who initially disliked eating prawn noodle and pulled long face, commended the prawn soup for her dry bowl is very nice. We definitely would recommend to go for regular prawn noodle soup and a shared dish of wu xiang see what you like. Next time we come I'd try prawn with pork tail or ribs just to try other combination. Try coming on a rainy day awesome!

Prawn mee for our brunch after workout! First time try this Beach Road prawn mee. Fiancé had jumbo size soup prawn mee, me having dry prawn mee, then we ordered another Wu Xiang platter for sharing. I love the soup prawn mee, fresh prawn taste, hot soupy mee just nice also especially on a rainy day, dry prawn mee a bit so so for me, I think will be better if added with 虾膏 also.

Overall is okay. can refill soup! I like this. It just the pork rib can be nicer (a little bit hard), as I used to eat penang hokien mee (prawn noodle), so I still prefer my hometown one, don’t have big prawn but a lot prawn without shell and can add roasted pork and many other! Oh my god, really very yummy! =D

  • 4/5 Sean Y. 1 year ago on Google
For a large bowl of souped prawn noodles (3 halved fresh prawn with 5 pieces of cubed pork ribs) @$13.50, it is considered reasonably priced for one person dining. Soup was mediocre, partly overwhelmed by the amount of fried shallots literally dumped into the bowl. Pork ribs was still tough (chewy) saved by the freshness of the halved prawns. For its popularity, an efficient queue and ordering system helped to keep it moving.

  • 5/5 Koby O. 1 year ago on Google
Fresh & tender prawns, soft & tender pork ribs, yummy broth that doesn't make you feel thirsty after drinking. And the chilli powder is not cakey. The fried fritters are tasty and don't have the oily aftertaste. The young lady who attended to us are polite and helpful. An enjoyable meal.

  • 1/5 Patricia C. 2 years ago on Google
Would have given 0 star if possible. Not only have prices increased making this the most expensive prawn noodles in town but the customer service sucks! The staff was rude, escalating to the boss' son who was worse; he made a fuss about soup for my tabao and compared himself to a restaurant when you are NOT a restaurant plus a restaurant has way more class than you! Food standard has definitely dropped, soup is black with soy sauce and no prawn flavor. They have let success to go into their heads and couldn't care less about customers or maintaining food quality. Boycott this shop!! There are other prawn noodles which are way better with much more appreciative staff and owners.

went during lunchtime on a weekend and the queue was really long. however, it moved pretty fast and we only waited about 15 minutes. overall, one of the better prawn noodles you can find in singapore with great drinks(recommend the lime juice!) and sides!

Price: $6.50 per bowl of prawn noodle Food: they only serve yellow noodles or fat bee Hoon noodles. The soup is nice, the prawns are fine but not too fresh. The 五香 is nice, the chilli is sweet and a little spicy only. Parking: hard to park and is really needed to base on luck if not park other locations and walk over. If you come early in the morning for breakfast I think the parking wise is good The Q is long but we are lucky we wait awhile we have our seat. Serving noodles is fast as well.

Loved the prawn mee here. Very few of such fantastic shops are left in sg. Broth is amazing and there are options to add pig tail or pork ribs. Always in love with the jumbo prawn option. Its usually a long wait line from 11am to 2+ pm. But the queue moves quite fast. Parking space is limited though. Sorry for the bad photos was too busy eating 😅

The prawn crackers & associates were good. Fresh, tasty, chewy & fragrant (depending on what you picked). The chilli was spicy & tangy, just nice for the dips. However, the Prawn + Pork rib mee hoon were a little disappointing as the pork ribs were too hardy. I would say overly cooked. The noodle's chilli can be better as well.

Best prawn noodles in Singapore, hands down. Been eating here for decades. There is a line up, but it moves pretty quickly even in the weekends. Free soup refills if you ask for it. Don’t sleep on the ngoh hiang either.

Underwhelming experience. Finally got to try this. For all the hype… It’s really not worth it. For $6.50 I got two average-sized prawns, noodles and vege. The prawns were sweet and fresh, but that was all there was to it. The broth was diluted and bland. The cashier staff, as mentioned in earlier post, wasn’t friendly at all. He wasn’t rude but his face just looked unhappy. Early in the morning, when I thought toilets should be just cleaned, I was welcomed with two dead cockroaches. Gross.

Queue in the line that's inside the restaurant, not the one that leads to the side of the restaurant. I think it's a stall that sells something else. Their prawn noodles have a good reputation for a reason. The broth had a very rich shrimp flavor and the prawns were pretty big too. Only thing is that it's a bit out of the way and only accessible by car or bus.

  • 4/5 HelpMeMrYang 2 years ago on Google
Had the prawn mee with pork ribs, as well as the ngoh hiang. The prawn mee was a very good one, but there have been many good prawn noodles with big prawns popping up. I would say that this one has quality prawns, flavourful soup. I prefer my soups to have a stronger taste of spices, but this one wasn't it for me. The ngoh hiang was served with chilli sauce and pink sauce, which brought back old school vibes. Even thought it's just corn starch and food colouring with pandan extract, it's childhood memories for me. We went on a weekday morning. Didn't have to queue long. And it was good, but I would not return if I have to queue.

I do not recall how the talk about having Prawn noodles came about but, it resulted in us arranging to travel 45 minutes in the morning, to East Coast for, Prawn Noodles. Because one friend commented about how the broth often sells out by 11-12nn or, was it because the place gets crazily crowded during lunch hour. Hence, we agreed to navigate the morning traffic to get to the store by 8am. Seats were plentiful at 8am, patrons filled slightly less than half the store. You decide on your order, queue to pay and your order will be served to your table. There was a separate order counter selling Ngoh Hiang, which we also did order. Except that, it was an over order for us.... too much food! Noodles, prawns, ribs were all "normal"... what made things special was probably just the broth which, had enough taste and flavour. We did not go for refills though.

  • 5/5 Mary Yang (. 9 months ago on Google
They just ticked all the boxes for the perfect Prawn noodles. Noodles: perfectly blanched Prawns : very fresh. Pork Ribs: tender and soft. Fried shallots: golden and crispy 😀 The Ngoh Hiang was good too and the dipping sauces complemented it perfectly. Totally satisfied!!!

Costlier side. Soup is heavy on taste but there's a seaweed smell which I do not like. Prawn cut in half but still unable to easily remove the meat. Food is not bad , though not very lingering .

A quick satisfied lunch here. The place is always crowded no matter in a normal day, weekends or holidays. They don’t have much variety but they serve quality food with fast service. After you ordered, the dishes will just come within 3-5 mins. The pork ribs noodle I ordered, they have good portion of pork ribs. The soup is delicious. We ordered the noodle mixed with 2 kinds (normal yellow noodle & bee Hoon), it gave extra contented texture when you put in your mouth. You can give a try next time.
