Heard about this place for some time and finally got the chance to try it out for myself! I would give 6 stars if I could. The auntie who greeted us was full of positivity and she was really helpful. The entire menu can be made vegan except for two dishes. There is no service charge and GST, all prices on the menu is nett price. Hence they only accept cash and nets. However, GrabPay is also available. I was asking about their specialty dishes and the auntie was extremely helpful and knew her stuff. She recommended a fried chicken dish (I believe it's on page 1 of the menu) and said that it tastes similar to KFC chicken. Tried that and was very pleased with it. I was also interested in having tempeh and she recommended the 2nd tempeh dish upon hearing that I would like a flavourful one. It turned out really nice! We also got other dishes (fried rice, gado gado, mee goreng, etc) too and each one of them was nice. We were also offered their homemade green chilli. While it was not as spicy as chilli padi, it was still spicy and flavourful! I will definitely be back again. Also when I asked for tissue, the auntie was so nice to bring it out for me (even though there is technically no service as no service fee). Enjoyed the experience here with my friends and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for indonesian vegetarian or vegan food. We were quite lucky to have gotten a table without making reservations. Would recommend making a reservation before you go!

Very happy to come across this vegetarian restaurant! All the dishes we had were full of flavors yet not too salty. I particularly like Orh Luak (oyster mushroom omelette), Lumpiah Goreng (spring rolls), and stir fried spinach. Rendang lion mane mushroom was quite spicy and oily. Saturday dinner was very busy. A very lively place.

Really good vegetarian food. Should expect a crowd during peak hours, can reserve in advance! All the food in the photos are great! Top 3 favourites are: Tahu Telor - sweet, crispy and savoury Nasi Lemak - fragrant, savoury, crispy Ayam Penyet - crispy and savoury

One of the best vegetarian restaurants around. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is so delicious - especially the ayam pengyet-style lion mane mushrooms. The mee goreng was authentic and had good wok hey aroma. The BBQ tofu was soft and the sauce was tasty. The kolo mee was springy and satisfying. Can't wait to try their other dishes. Small seating area so it's best to WhatsApp them to reserve a table.

The place is nice, gives a nice and old times vibe. Itโ€™s Indonesian vegetarian restaurant, therefore dishes are Indonesian. We went over the weekend and place is normally pre-booked. We made reservation a day before and could get a seating for Saturday. Staff is super humble and helpful, they help us arrange the time last minute as our booking for 6:30 and we wanted to have dining 5:30 (could finish shop early). The lemongrass drink (cold) is amazing super cooling and dishes were quite balanced too. Staff kept an eye and proactively offered sambal rather we are going to counter and asking (which is cool awesome customer service). Suggestion - if you are visiting then make reservation, walk-in may be a bit hard over weekend. Also, dishes are Indonesian so expect spice and fried items :) must try lemon grass drink.

This is a vegetarian Indonesian restaurant and was glad to discover it some years ago before they move to this place. Their old place was bit more spacious. Food is delicious. Ordered ayam penyet, petai long beans with brinjal and tahu telor.

Happened to be around this area and came over to give it a try on this Indonesian vegetarian food. It did not disappoint me. The Orh Luak was so good, my daughters love it. Lontong Sayur (spicy level 2) was thick and full of favour, I think this is the best vegetarian Lontong so far. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Nasi Lemak Rendang is good. The rice is fragrance with every bite and goes so well with the side dishes. Kolo Mee Mushroom (spicy level 2) is just right with the spices, but a little on the salty side.

Sambal Petai King is to die for, it's so good you can just eat with plain white rice. Char Kway Teow is a chef's kiss, I'm not exaggerating, try it for yourself. Sambal fish is so-so,abit sweet ,not to my liking . Nasi Padang also not bad, consist of what I think is vegetarian chicken rendang, soy tofu, vege lemak lodeh and sambal egg belado.Orh luak with oyster mushroom is also good, not oily at all , taste on point , actually better than the real thing.Bak mie is tasty, noodle springy, mock shredded chicken is unnecessary, the fried wonton is good though,I settle with level 1 spiciness which to me is pretty hot. Satay is so-so,don't really taste like the real thing, tasted like regular deep fried mock meat, satay sauce can't mask save it either. Service is super fast, 5 different person served us, all are very warm, friendly and are always smiling. Even though we came just 30 mins before their break time which is at 3pm.We feel welcomed!

Definitely a place worth the visit. The food really give you a nice exposure to the Indonesian cuisine. The flavors from what I hear and have seen, are quite authentic. The ambience definitely is worth the visit as it gives quite a good feel. The food on the whole was extremely delicious. The Kway Teow will was really well made and the Rendang Lion Mane Mushroom was just finger linking good. A weird concept in which we had to pay for each and every cup of water was something I really wasn't fond of, but in terms of prices, the place isn't cheap but having said that, the food is totally worth it. The service was super quick and the staff were very friendly. All in all, definitely worth the visit and something you should try as a vegetarian. Its not that you always can get a place to try vegetarian Indonesian cuisine.

Easier to find the cafe since re-located from Bugis area to TaiSeng now. A good option of Indo vegetarian! Service is fast and crews are helpful especially elderly customes. Bemindful when order as the spicy level is by Indo standard and quite spicy for locals. The fried kuey teow is still very good with wok-hey & spicy. ๐Ÿฅต The nasi pandang set is good set of various dishes and ask for sambal for it! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป The cendol need more ices!

Good Indonesian Vegetarian fare. Do request for no eggs if youโ€™re looking forfor eggless options. I read on several reviews about their service and most add that the staff are incredibly friendly and efficient. The ordering system can be improved though as the UI/UX on the ordering menu was not intuitive and lags too. Overall a great experience!

We have never tasted Indonesian vegetarian, find the dishes not bad but nothing special. We ordered the Rendang fried rice, sanbal sweet potato leaves, otahs and gardo gardo. Find it pricey n felt the portion were not justified, especially the gardo gardo.

Frankly when I first got recommended to eat here, I thought - oh no, is this just overpriced coffeeshop food (aka Crave, Eat)? But once I tasted the food, I understand why they get such a solid reputation. The food is unassuming but prepared so well. The coconut rice is rich and flavorful and the best I've had (and that is no casual thing), and the rest of the ingredients fresh, nutty, and delicious in their own way. The spice does not hold back, and I found myself wanting more even after polishing my plate. Seriously, kudos to the staff who were friendly and welcoming - the restaurant is beautiful, and the food shows the labor of love. Also, after this meal we popped by again a few days later, unfortunately close to closing time and they were extremely kind to scrape something up for us. I knew they did not have to - after all it was our fault for ending up around the area so late, but they were the most gracious hosts. Much love :)

The rendang fried rice is good and you can select a spiciness level. The avocado smoothie is a must try. The service staff is so friendly and warm that I feel very welcomed at this place. Do make a reservation as without which, you will only be left with counter or outside table.

Grabbed lunch here at 1pm on a weekday and it was busy but not too crowded. Nice vibe. The staff were really kind and friendly. The food is very good quality - we had nasi padang, chendol and avocado smoothie and loved everything. Price is a bit ex but overall good value for the quality and setting. Appreciate great vegetarian hangouts like this!

Had the rendang fried rice with OnlyEgg (vegan alternative). It didn't look like the picture on the menu but it was delicious and filling! Wanted to try the nasi padang but it was out of stock. There were spice levels from 0 to 3 and I had option 1, which was mild but satisfying. I tried option 3 from a friend and it was very spicy. The minkry head mushroom rendang was rich and the monkey head mushroom was cooked through very well. The OnlyEgg was small and tasted more crepe but this has more to do with the brand rather than the prep by the restaurant. Would choose normal egg next time. Also tried the chilli crab with mantou and it was fantastic! The cutlet tasted very much like fish fillet and the gravy was rich and creamy with the sweet and spicy tang we get from the regular chilli crab. The fried mushrooms also went very well with the chilli crab! We booked in advance since we were a big group and the staff were very accommodating in our request for a big group. It was crowded on a Fri evening so we waited till the previous diners left. The staff joined the corner tables with the couches. The entire cafe, the couches, swinging chairs and paintings on the walls gave it a cosy and comforting vibe.

All the dishes is delicious. Must try the Tahu Telor, simply amazing! I love their Bee Hoon Soto. I love spicy food so asked for it at level 2 spicy. If you are not a spicy lover, you can have it at level 0. The soup is flavory with spices. Portion is suitable for tiny eater. Big eater might consider to add on noodles. Mee goreng got the wok hey taste that we usually had in Malaysia. The minimum spicy level will be 1. The freshly squeezed lime goes well with the dishes and helps to reset the tastebuds. Very refreshing. Will bring family to try on their other dishes before they closed on 27 July. The store will be closed for a period of time until they find a new place. Do follow their FB to get the new location announcement. ๐Ÿ˜€

I had a wonderful experience at Warong Ijo! This new outlet is located conveniently near the MRT making it more accessible. The vegetarian dishes they offer are simply amazing โ€“ full of flavor and beautifully presented. The friendly staff made my visit even more enjoyable. It's not often you find a place that caters so well to vegetarians while providing top-notch service. I highly recommend trying their delicious dishes and soaking in the welcoming atmosphere.

This time ordered Singkong Satan, Rendang Fried Rice- you can choose their spicy level from level 0 to level 3, Soup Bakso and Orh Jian (must try) as usual. Enjoyed their avocado drink and happy soda too! At the current new outlet. order through QR code, submit order and make payment after finished your meal ๐Ÿ˜‰

Small unprepossessing exterior, but when you enter, it's brightly coloured, clean and eclectic. Staff are friendly and helpful. Dishes come with spicy rating of 0-4; I chose 1 and it was still quite chilli-hot :-P Takeaway came in cardboard food containers, and food tasted good, not too salty. The meat rendang and meat satay doesn't really have the texture of meat, but importantly, the taste is good. Prices were slightly on the high side, but it was a good experience all round.

Staff friendly but didn't get my order right. The food too salty but they willing to amend for customers. Good taste overall. Would like to try again with Friends and hopefully the cook can make it more healthy. The spice level is high so unless you can eat spicy food be prepared. They can adjust accordingly.

The shop was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Food was served so quickly at an unbelievable speed. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Ordered sambal petai, fried rice and balado tahu. The fried rice and sambal petai was okay, but the balodo was a disappointment. It's so sour and it just tasted weird. If you like spicy Indo food, this is probably not for you, even spicy level 3 felt like 0. Also find the portion is quite small, wouldn't be enough for big eaters.

There are many items on the food menu. Ordering is via self scanning. Food service was very fast. My table of 7 gave pretty good reviews for the food served. Not all the dishes were good but some were worth recommendation. 1. Rendang fried rice. 2. Assam fish 3. Chilli crab 4. Vegetable curry (coconut milk a little thick) The rest of the dishes were very much fried food like tempe, VFC, Ayam Penyet etc. The chendol was a little sweet for me. A little disappointed that they charged for drinking water which is non refillable. It will be good if they provide self water dispensing corner. Dining place becomes very very noisy when crowded. Just a little caution.. very difficult to find parking if u come after 6.30 pm!!!

My first on an Indonesian take of vegetarian fare, as strongly insisted by the friend as a counter-proposal to my initial spot for vegetarian food. Small and cozy restaurant along the ground floor close to the entrance. Great spread of Indonesian food in vegetarian version if you are game for it. Place is cooling, sheltered, and very accessible from the MRT.

Environment is more spacious compared to previous outlet. Food is absolutely the best Indonesian cuisine in town. If you love spicy food, head down for a try! Mee Soto spicy level 3 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Nasi Pedang ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป but the spicy level of their sambal chilli is above the usual level.

New exciting dishes! Warung Ijo is an excellent and only choice if you crave for dine-in experience at a fully vegetarian Indonesian specialty restaurant. What a satisfying meal! All food/snack items featured are vegan, except for the fishcake mee goreng where egg is optional. My fav is the mee goreng which, in my humble opinion, is the one of the best in SG, and even better than non-veg stalls. The Pepes fish is expertly flavoured and fried to be crispy outside and soft inside. Even a simple side dish of corn fritters is satisfying and addictive. The sambal fried potatoes dish has bits of petai and I requested for extra spicy. Lastly, their avocado smoothie is a must-order. It is rich, smooth, thick and mildly sweet. Full list of items featured and their prices: Fishcake Mee Goreng $10.90 Pepes Ikan (fish) $15.90 Bakwan Jagung (corn fritters) $7.9 Sambal Goreng Kentang (potato) $10.90 Kacang Garing Harum (crispy roasted peanuts) $5 a packet Sogan Mie Kremes (dry noodle snacks) spicy/non-spicy $4.50 a packet Homemade Passion Fruit Drink (Markisa) $5.90 Avocado Smoothie $5.90 (Drizzle Gula Melaka/Chocolate)

1st their wanton mee doesnโ€™t look appetizing but when you tasted it, wow superbly ๐Ÿ‘ 2nd their satay bee hoon is really unique. 3rd their orh luah is normal. Watery chili. Anyway overall 5-stars. Will be back to try their egg murtabak.

Used to patronise the old outlet at Beach Rd, and it's our first time at MacPherson. We ordered the bakmi ayam, gado gado and satay bee hoon. Ordered kampung fried rice and rendang fried rice to takeaway. The food is nice, but can be more generous with ingredients. Appreciate that there is a vegetarian Indonesian option at Warung Ijo. Price can be slightly cheaper, though with inflation, I doubt anything will be cheaper.

Normally not a vegetarian eater but Warong Ijo changed my perspective! Kampung fried rice is sooo good! Good in flexibility of spicy level, can even request for 0.5 level if level 1 is still too spicy! Their oyster omelette is also a must try! Used to be located along Beach Road near my office, came over specially just to have a taste of their yummy delicacies again! Staff and service is really good and friendly, always enjoying my time here at Warong Ijo.

One of my favourite vegetarian eateries in Singapore. Amazing food. Very attentive ad friendly staff. Food is reasonably priced and delicious! Must try the kampung fried rice! They are moving away from Beach road to a new location at Tai Seng soon.

Veggie indo food that packs a serious flavour punch! You wonโ€™t miss the meat with the really hearty lionโ€™s mane rendang, which we had with nasi goreng and nasi lemak. Food was quite spicy so we were grateful for the refreshing coolers of sparkling bandung. The folks who run the restaurant are lovely and genuine with sharing their cooking and their stories โ€“ love the details of the interior design too.

Made a booking for 4 the morning of and went there for lunch. If you want to try Indonesian food and are vegetarian/vegan, definitely give this place a visit. The food is a great introduction to authentic Indonesian cuisine from what my friends tell me. For mains, I ordered 1) Lions mane rendang 2) Singkong Santan 3) kway teow goreng 4) Tempe goreng 5) Petai Kecap And for dessert I got chendol You have to get rice and water separately. I paid 1.50 and 0.50 respectively. Prices in general are relatively higher than average. My favourite of the mains was definitely the rendang. Not often can you get rendang as a vegetarian especially one without eggs. The Singkong Santan was very good too. Not too spicy and rich with other flavours. Kway teow goreng was great. You can select your spice level and ask for sambal paste on the side. Had great wok hei and mushrooms, greens and other vegetables in it. The Tempe goreng is one of the only ways I'll have Tempe. The petai Kecap is definitely for Petai lovers only. The Kecap Manis gravy was not too spicy either. Chendol was amazing. Rich coconut milk with tons of gula melaka. Great way to end off a meal, although I felt the portion size was a bit small. Definitely give this place a visit even if you're not vegetarian.

Probably this is the only one vegan/vegetarian Indonesian restaurant in Singapore? (correct me if I'm wrong). It's just very delicious. The taste is so good and my non-vegetarian friends also love it. The lion mane mushroom rendang is my favorite. The portion is small for a la carte. I'd recommend going with a group so you can try a few dishes. Will definitely come back and try other dishes ๐Ÿคค

Recommended by a friend. Halal vegetarian food. Mainly indonesian-chinese cuisine style. This place is always crowded so you need to reserve before coming, otherwise you probably can't get a table if you walk in. Food-wise, definitely spicy. Even level 1 can't be slightly spicy (beware people with weak stomach like me). Tolerable however. Taste wise, you can't really tell the difference between certain fake meat products like otak and fish with the real meat. That's how good it is. Prices are affordable for sure. They offer individual meals and side dishes, tze char style. Would come again if I'm looking for a vegetarian halal restaurant!

Extraordinary vegetarian ๐ŸŒฑ restaurant that totally worth trying. I love the variety of food, sambal was great. The boss is an Indonesian Chinese lady and all staff are friendly too. (Only small minus point of plain water costs $0.50)

Delicious vegetarian and vegan Indonesian fare. I would recommend their classic nasi padang set with the egg swapped out for brocoli. Service is cordial and the atmosphere convivial. Curries were robust, that said I wish they had jackfruit on the menu. Highly recommended and will definitely return for more delicious vegan cuisine

  • 2/5 Andrew Toh - Growth M. 2 years ago on Google
Not recommended for low spicy level tolerance. This chilli around the boiled egg is hellish spicy until my tongue was numb and on fire until cannot eat anything else. At first it tastes like a tomato sauce, but the spicy level gradually grows unstoppable for eternity. Price is steep and food doesnโ€™t come steaming hot from the kitchen. Service is above average.

So glad there are more cuisine-specific vegetarian restaurants/eateries out there. Many do it much better than the meaty versionโ€” at least in my opinion. Canโ€™t wait to be back :)

Seems to be a popular restaurant for vegetarian dishes but they do have some selection of dishes with chicken and fish. Tried the Lontong Sayur and the portion is generous and it's quite tasty. Also tried the ice cendol which is pretty good but I prefer chendol from drink or chendol stalls. Plenty of seating indoor, which has a nice decor, as well as some seating outside. Friendly staffs. This block of Beach road has quite a selection of restaurant including Seow Choon Hua, Blanco Noodle, etc.

Awesome vegetarian meal with friendly and great service provided by the staffs here. Tried the Nasi padang and Lotong and you can see that the ingredients used are very fresh and with quality. Dessert wise, the Chendol lack the thick gula melaka punch but the mains already won over our hearts and taste buds. All in all, my wife and I enjoyed the delicious meal and will definitely return for more! Overall 5/5 stars!

Totally blown away by the taste and quality of their Indonesian vegetarian food! Wow I've never eaten such well-executed vegetarian food. The fried chicken in the Nasi Padang was hot, crispy and flavourful and the longtong was THE BOMB. It's very lemak and you can tell that they are super generous with their ingredients. The tauhu goreng was very nice too! Tauhu is nicely crisp and skin is not chewy. Sauce is sweet and salty and spicy too. Get a drink cos their spice level really packs a punch ๐Ÿ˜… Service was super good and attentive and everyone there is so nice and friendly! Feels so homey โ˜บ๏ธ Will definitely return to try the other dishes! (Prices are around $8 - $12 per dish)

Warung Ijo is easily one of my favourite! Can't find any other place that offers such wonderful Indonesian vegetarian culinary. The food are so full of flavours! And a great plus is that you can choose your spice level and whether you want egg or not depending on your orders. Have been hooked since my first visit.

Our 1st time trying Indonesian style vegetarian restaurant, it was surprisingly good! Ordered quite a few dishes to try, not really that spicy for me, but it maybe spicy for others out there. A few dishes to recommend : Tahur Telor (Crispy and soft beancurd with egg omelette), Lemper (very fragrance glutinous rice and quite filling), Sambal King (Pretty good) Rendang Lion Mane's Mushroom (Must try!!!) Tempe (๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘) Their fried rice & noodle (Superb!!!) Ayam Pengyet (So so only), Gado Gado (Normal), Avocado drink (Not that creamy or rich to my liking. $5.90 quite expensive for that small cup ๐Ÿ‘Ž),

Sad that they are closing soon! Good place to try vegetarian Indonesian cuisine. Nice ambience too! Otah Otah and Nasi Padang are a must try. Wish their sauce/curry base was a bit more authentic as it tasted more like hotpot soup.

Good work on the great taste, as they are entirely vegetarian. Although the kang kong is pretty salty, the rest are really good. I love the lion's mane penyet(aka ayam pengyet), a must try! The ambience is great and gives you a great sense of traditional nostalgia.

Called about 30min prior and managed to book a table ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ flavours are good, ambience is nice and overall very enjoyable experience dining here. Slightly pricey for the portion size but food is really authentic and tastes good. A bit on the oily side - a note for the more health conscious. (Edit) staff are super friendly and helpful! Accidentally left my bag there after dinner and it was already late when i found out my bag was gone. They were so kind to help me keep it safe overnight and responded promptly via whatsapp to arrange collection the next day. ๐Ÿฅน thank you!!!

Food was really good and flavourful but the serving size was terribly small for the (relatively high) price (eg $16 rendang in palm-sized bowl, $9 bakso soup with only 3 paltry "meat" balls, $10 petai that could be finished in just a few spoonfuls)! It would have been perfect if the serving size were much much bigger. Would have loved to give this place a full 5 stars but my pet peeve is leaving a dining place feeling unsatisfied and insatiable after having paid a pretty high price. note: $50 for all the dishes in the attached photos, which could have been $30 or less for the miserable serving size.

Vegetarian restaurant which served high quality food. I m wowed by the wok hey from my fried rice. The omelette is also crisp and we'll loved by all. Drinks are refreshing. Overall a very good place which I highly recommend and will be back to try other dishes. Will recommend for all.

Probably put some effort into producing food that was shown on your menu. Outdoor seating was not conducive, Singapore air quality is not very good. Overall, the dining experience was above average.

Indonesian themed vegetarian restaurant. Good variety of chilli for each dish, making all dish having their unique taste ๐Ÿ˜‹ interior does give off a modernised traditional Indonesia vibe NETS/Cash/GrabPay are the payment methods hence do bring sufficient!

All the dishes we tried were tasty although everything was fried. The chili crab was actually deep fried king oyster mushroom in thick batter instead of omnicrab cake as written on the menu. Take note that you have to order and pay first at the counter. The restaurant was also very warm in this weather, no difference from dining outside.

Wonderful experience here, the staff are incredible. They checked in on us like we were family and on learning that we loved the food and were celebrating a birthday, gave us a free cendol! Food was really delicious. We had Assam fish, Ayam Penyet (succulent) , Tahu Telur (must order), Gado Gado, Cassava leafs in coconut milk and cendol. I loved that the cendol jellies were homemade and tasted like little bursts of kaya. They do offer additional gula melaka if you wish for it to be sweeter too. Looking forward to returning to try some rendang and the avocado shakes when they ripen.
