𝙷𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚡 𝙱𝚛𝚒𝚍𝚐𝚎 The Helix Bridge, officially The Helix,[1] and previously known as the Double Helix Bridge, is a pedestrian bridge linking Marina Centre with Marina South in the Marina Bay area in Singapore. It was officially opened on 24 April 2010 at 9 pm; however, only half was opened due to ongoing construction at the Marina Bay Sands.[1] It is located beside the Benjamin Sheares Bridge and is accompanied by a vehicular bridge, known as the Bayfront Bridge. The entire bridge was opened on 18 July 2010 to complete the entire walkway around Marina Bay.

The 'Helix Bridge' is a pedestrianized bride, made largely of steel and glass and looks like a giant DNA molecule. Lighting at night is very effective. A great way of exploring part of the Marina and for taking photos from, particularly at sunset. Not to be missed.

Bridge on the way to Marina Bay Sands … Inspired by the structure of human DNA, the Helix Bridge is one of Singapore's most visually striking landmarks. Opened in 2010, it is a pedestrian only bridge linking the Marina Centre with Marina South in the Bay area. Designed and engineered by a team of architects from both Australia and Singapore.

Nice bridge at Marina Bay area. At night there are different color of lightings fitted on the bridge structure as well. Better go in the evening as day time it will be too hot and no shelter.

Modern and elegant architecture makes this bridge one of the famous photo spots in Singapore. This bridge is also 1 of 6 unique bridges in Singapore. No need to spend to come and take selfies in this place.

The Helix Bridge in Singapore is a captivating architectural marvel that seamlessly blends aesthetics with functionality. As an iconic pedestrian bridge, its unique double-helix structure not only serves as a practical link between Marina Centre and Marina South but also stands as a symbolic representation of progress and continuity. The bridge's design, inspired by the structure of DNA, is a testament to Singapore's commitment to innovation and modernity. Lit up spectacularly at night, the Helix Bridge transforms into a dazzling display of colors, enhancing the overall ambiance of the Marina Bay area. Visitors are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline and key landmarks like the Marina Bay Sands. The strategically placed viewing platforms along the bridge offer opportunities for both locals and tourists to capture memorable snapshots of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, the Helix Bridge is not merely a visual spectacle; it also serves as a hub for community events and artistic performances. Its pedestrian-friendly design, coupled with thoughtful landscaping, creates a serene and enjoyable experience for those strolling across.

We enjoyed walking across the bridge and the gorgeous clear blue skies looked stunning from here. Lots of lovely spots to stand and soak in the atmosphere. The sights of the Singapore skyline and the marina Bay Area were amazing. We had such a nice time hanging out here and exploring this beautiful place on foot. The weather wasn’t too bad either. A lovely day to be out and about. The views at night are spectacular with the colorful lights.

Whether a local or a tourist, alone or with friends, the Helix Bridge is definitely a great place to visit. The jaw-droppingly beautiful architectural design of the bridge is probably the most prominently eye-catching thing about this place. However, the breathtakingly spectacular view from this bridge simply cannot be captured within a single image. Sat above the Singapore River, close to the colossal Marina Bay Sands, it faces the City, filled with magnificent skyscrapers and tall buildings just past the river. And if this place wasn't good enough already, it is mostly sheltered and quite breezy. Truly a must to visit.

Walking across the Helix Bridge at twilight, the city's skyline aglow with a symphony of lights, was an ethereal experience. As I strolled along the double-helix structure, the cool breeze off the water kissed my skin, and the rhythmic hum of the bustling city faded into a distant murmur. The sleek, futuristic design of the bridge seemed to blend seamlessly with the urban landscape, creating a captivating juxtaposition of modernity and natural beauty. Glancing down, the tranquil waters below mirrored the vibrant colors above, and for a fleeting moment, time stood still, encapsulating the essence of Singapore's captivating charm.

The Helix or the Helix Bridge is a pedestrian bridge linking Marina Centre with Marina South in the Marina Bay area. The design of the bridge was inspired by the DNA double helix spiral molecule. The bridge's unique spiral design is iconic. It is the world's first curved double helix bridge.

Great view of the bridge and from the bridge. Beautiful way to cross the river and enjoy the view of Marina bay hotel and 360degrees. The float, Merlion, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer Ferris Wheel, Esplanade theatre, all can be viewed from here. Since the bridge is curved, different views from different positions. They have even created viewing point/ selfie point on the bridge. The design, the texture of shining steel creates a translucent image and the looks gels well in the surroundings. Nothing much to do except great views.

The Helix Scaffold, formally The Helix, and recently known as the Twofold Helix Extension, is a passerby span connecting Marina Center with Marina South in the Marina Straight region in Singapore. It was formally opened on 24 April 2010, notwithstanding, just half was opened because of continuous development at the Marina Cove Sands. The scaffold was completely opened on 18 July. It is situated close to the Benjamin Sheares Extension and is joined by a vehicular scaffold, known as the Bayfront Extension. The plan consortium is a global group containing Australian draftsmen the Cox Design and specialists Arup, and Singapore based Engineers 61. Coverings (made of fritted-glass and punctured steel network) are integrated along parts of the internal twisting to give shade to people on foot. The scaffold has four review stages sited at vital areas which give perspectives on the Singapore horizon and occasions occurring inside Marina Bay. around evening time, the extension will be enlightened by a progression of lights that feature the twofold helix structure, in this manner making an exceptional visual encounter for the visitors. Sets of hued letters c and g, as well as an and t on the extension which are illuminated around evening time in red and green address cytosine, guanine, adenine and thymine, the four bases of DNA. The deliberate left given DNA-like plan, which is something contrary to ordinary DNA on the planet, procured it a spot in The Left Given DNA Lobby of Distinction in 2010. The Land Transport Authority guaranteed it is a world first in compositional and designing extension design. It won the 'World's Best Vehicle Building' grant at the World Engineering Celebration Grants around the same time. It has likewise been perceived by the Structure and Development Authority (BCA) at the BCA Plan and Designing Wellbeing Greatness Grants in 2011.

Btw, this is a must visit when you roam around the famous Marina Bay Sands and Art Science Museum. I went to Singapore in May 2019 with my family and friends. We already planned our trip for 5 days which all places we have to cover. So Garden by the Bay was one of them where you can cover multiple things, but to cover everything you need 2 days. Helix bridge is mainly the connection between garden by the bay and the Singapore flyer. We walked the complete bridge. Its little tough if you have kids along with you. The view from the bridge is awesome.

Most beautiful at night when it is lighted up. They seem to have canvass but in small pieces so public must not be mistaken they shelter us from rain. Would be nicer if the lights glitter or change colour.

Nice place to walk esp at night when the bridge and city is lit up. There is an ice cream vendor who sells wafer Ice cream snadwiches at nite for $1.5 which is simple n tasty. The path leads you to the MBS mall and Rasapura food court at the other end.

Beautiful bridge especially when you arrived at night time. The ray of lights at night will give a sensational experience, from this bridge you can see the Marina Bay complex like Art Science Museum. Be careful not to be strucked by runners as some people also pass by and jog here.

Our Helix Bridge is one of Singapore's most outstanding modern landmarks, the design is inspired by the structure of human DNA! It is a pedestrian only bridge linking the Marina Centre with Marina South in the Bay area.

Well lit at night. Lots of joggers and people out for casual strolls. You get a great view of the entire Marina Bay Area. There was also a old uncle with his cart, selling cold drinks and waffle ice cream sandwiches at one end of the bridge near the youth Olympic park. Grab yourself some ice cream whilst crossing the bridge!

The bridge is made of steel and glass, and is illuminated at night by LED lights. This creates a truly magical sight, as the bridge appears to float above the water like a giant DNA molecule. it's a great way to get around the Marina Bay area, and it is also a popular spot for tourists to take photos. If you are visiting Singapore, I highly recommend checking out the Helix Bridge. It is a truly unique and impressive structure that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Nice bridge to visit for a walk or sightseeing when around the Marina Bay Sands area. It has a unique double helix structure modelled on the DNA structure. It offers a great view of some great buildings in Marina Bay Sands area and Esplanade theatres. The bridge is also nicely illuminated by LED during the night too.

The Helix Bridge is an absolute gem in the heart of Singapore! I had the pleasure of visiting this iconic landmark, and it left me in awe of its architectural brilliance. The intricate design, inspired by the structure of DNA, creates a stunning visual spectacle, especially when illuminated at night. The bridge not only serves its functional purpose but also stands as a testament to Singapore's commitment to blending art and infrastructure seamlessly. Walking across The Helix Bridge offers breathtaking views of the city skyline, making it a must-visit for both locals and tourists.

  • 5/5 Rajesh Mondal (Devy J. 4 months ago on Google
Just one of the city's many striking feats of architecture, Singapore's Helix provides a walkway across the Singapore River, between the city’s central business district Marina Centre and Marina South in the Marina Bay area. Its name comes from its futuristic structure, which resembles a double helix.

The bridge is so nice. From the bridge you will see different buildings and beautiful view from there. It was so nice especially at night because of different color of lights. Must visit! :)
