This temple is extraordinary, although not paying mine of external aspect. It's in edge of road and seems relatively small contrary to Sri Srinivasa Perumal but in reality, it's not ! It's necessary to take time to enter and to mingle with the crowd which takes part in the ceremonies. Offerings are made while hindu clerics sing sacred songs to offer blessings. It's a timeless and absolutely magical interlude that reminds us of India ! A one-of-a-kind experience !

You cannot miss it if you want discover new cultures, rituals and ceremony from Hinduism. The entrance is free but you have to remove your shoes when entering the temple and wear a Sarong in case you have shorts wearing or skirts.

The temple is gorgeous, you have to see it. The whole Little India is amazing and smells fantastic, but this must be one of your central points of your visit of the area. The status and the decors are stunning. Unfortunately, I did not take any photo from the inside, as there was a ceremony and I did not want to be disrespectful. This is the important thing, even though you have the urge to take photos, have the fact that is still a temple in your mind.

Wonderful experience, especially around sunset, the people are very welcoming into their shrine to see it in action. Photos seem to be okay if you keep it discreet and respectful, shoes off at the door.

This famous temple on Serangoon Rd is a must visit Hindu temple here in Little India. With its beautiful glistening architecture surrounded by modern Singapore, you need to step in this temple to admire the beauty of this temple. You need to remove your footwear to go inside this temple. If you need to snap pictures, if possible make sure not to snap the pictures of the deities inside.

Entire Little India walking North can amaze us. It is rich, enchanting, and is more Indian than India. Row of temples is so refreshing. Enchanting. Vibrant. Any Indian shall feel proud. Keep water with you, minimum 2 hours, and see all these temples. You will be delighted......

Didn’t plan to visit this temple but changed my mind. It was a great experience to witness the Hindu religious ceremony. In case your clothing is not appropriate, the temple offers scarves at the entrance. Didn’t take any pictures inside since it is not allowed but I wish it weren’t. All the statues of gods and goddesses are simply amazing.

Located just a short 5-minute walk away from the Little India MRT station, the temple is easily accessible. Upon entering, I was greeted by the stunning architecture and intricate details that adorned the entire temple. The vibrant colors and ornate carvings created an atmosphere of spiritual tranquility.

'Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple' is found in the Little India area, close to a couple of MRT stations. It is a religious site so please pay respect. Shoes have to be left at the entrance, and entrance is free. Many amazing sculptures inside, it is very photogenic. Highly recommended.

The Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Singapore and is located in the heart of Little India. Step into the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, one of Singapore's oldest Hindu temples, dedicated to the goddess and destroyer of evil, Sri Veeramakaliamman or Kali. This striking landmark in the heart of Little India tells fascinating stories of colonial-era Singapore.

The temple was covered by something like white tent in the front so it was disturbing the beauty of the architecture honestly. But over all, the interior carving was enchanting. It was colorful, tribal, and unique with cultural scents from the flower or incense. Also traditional music with traditional instruments improved the Indian atmosphere. Hope the instruments were a little bit soft so the visitors could enjoy the traditional music. However, the visitors should respect and behave when they come inside the temple. Including how to dress properly and take off their shoes before step inside.

A famous temple just opposite Veerasamy Road, home to a host of Tamil origin restaurants. Very neat, spacious and well maintained. The vibes this temple attracts is easily felt as one gets in.

Great place. Devotional atmosphere The main good thing was that they serve prasadam at night as much as you want.. It's 100% hygienic and tasty. Helps a lot of migrants/tourists who miss the home food, the poor and needy. The deity is majestic. The temple is very close from the little India mrt and it takes 10min to reach by walk from there.. You can stroll across the jewelry stores and Indian restaurants along the way.. Feels like you are back in India but much cleaner streets

My visit to the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple in Singapore was a remarkable 5/5 experience. Today, coinciding with the vibrant Hindu festival, added an extra layer of cultural depth to my visit. The temple, steeped in history and adorned with intricate carvings and statues, stands as a testament to Indian architectural prowess and religious devotion. The opportunity to try ghee rice was delightful, adding to the authentic cultural experience. The people at the temple were incredibly friendly, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It's clear that there's a deep respect for culture here. For those not dressed in traditional attire, clothing is provided to ensure everyone can participate respectfully, reflecting the inclusive nature of this sacred space. Visiting Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is not just about observing a place of worship; it's an immersion into a rich cultural and religious tapestry. This temple is a must-visit for anyone looking to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Hindu culture and spirituality. Thanks for having me!

All the temples are fascinating and Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is one of the temples we visited. Very interested in architecture with many statues everywhere inside and outside. To noisy and packed absolutely amazing to see. Honey and milk are poured into the open fire by a priest. The offerings for the gods are burnt, the traditional music you can hear in the temple. The statues of the gods are like works of art that cover the walls of the temple. In the back of the Temple free food as well.

Great temple. Clean and very devotional. God idols are very real and like in Tamil Naadu. All the archagars are doing pooja and mantras very well. Located in prime area of little india. Got to visit so many nearby shops also.

On the day I went an annual festival was taking place. Awesome, pungent, noisy, packed and absolutely amazing to see. Honey and milk being poured on open fires by a priest with a bare torso. Offerings for the Gods were being burned and the traditional music being played just added to the atmosphere. The statues of the deities and the artwork covering the walls is just beautiful. Well worth a visit.

Very nice hindu temple in the heart of little India in Singapore. Be careful cause they got really angry when I came inside with my gopro camera, maybe it was because of some ceremony or something but I got some photos. I really likes the roof tops from outside of the building, its amazing

Lovely Hindu temple that welcome anyone of any religion, no discrimination, except the ladies should be decently dressed with long skirt or pants. The door man is one great person who will enlighten one about the temple history and their practises. We saw an accident that knock down a Chinese tourist. Here we capture the accident and would warn every tourist to be aware of the vehicles that ply the Singapore Road.

Beautiful sight! Just be careful as it gets so crowded along the way near the ped xing. Okay to take pictures but I suggest to respect those who are coming to worship/just got out from the temple especially that some of their footwears are scattered outside.

Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple in Singapore, Little India area is one of the oldest temples situated along Serangoon Road, Little India. There are 3 main temples in that stretch of main road. The first is this temple followed by Srinivasa Perumal Temple next to Farrer Park MRT Station and near City Square mall and than Sir Vadapathira Kaliamman Temple. There is also a Lakshmi Narayana Temple, walking distance from the TEKKA market/hawker centre behind Buffalo and Race course roads. Sri Verakaliaman Temple is dedicated to Amman the consort of Shiva. Various forms of Amman is seen as the deity protecting us from the evils. Hindu concept is entrached in the oneness of the formless primordial force as God or Brahman.. a vast unexplainable power. The concept is explained in laymen terms as in Trinity (G.O.D = Giver, Observer and Destroyer of evils) and consorts that may sometimes be depicted in fierce worldly forms, like the Periyachi Amman deity seen in this Temple for example. This deity is especially depicted in a fierce incarnation to give strength to the believers that while the deity is kind and listens to the believers it protects all Righteous people and especially young children. That is why babies around a month old are brought here to be blessed by this deity. Just like a person can be a mother, sister, grandmother to various family members but the person is one and the same, God is given different names and personification. For example fishermen may have their own diety as they go out to the deep sea in their boats...Agricultural related farmers have their own deity. Families have their own deity which is seen as a culmination of God and their ancestors in a sublime immortal power guiding ad protecting them generation after generation. Sri Veerama Kaliamman is widely followed deity as a protector and guide who is believed to work miracles via one's own subconscious mind. Offerings of fruits and flowers are presented and offerings of food, prepared within the temple, is distributed to the congregation. Tourists and visitors are kindy requested to dress appropriately.. i.e with long pants or dresses. There are shawls, in a box outside the entrance, to those who come unprepared. No footwear..people may wear socks if they need to. The floor can be wet at some points due to water from washing areas around the sanctum. It's optional to receive blessings from the priest..who may offer white holy ash, red turmeric or flowers. Pls do be mindful of the pious congregation when taking photos...avoid photos with flash. Blessings to all.

After the renovation the temple is beautiful and we'll maintained. Every evening you can hear traditional songs in praise of the gods. And the last puja towards the end of the night is so touching and graceful. They put the god to sleep and give prasaad to everyone. Amazing feeling.

Hindu temple featuring various sculptures and statues. The decorations tend to be complex and there are lots of details. This temple is well worth a visit for tourists, because of its uniqueness. I think, very easy to reach and not difficult to find the location.

They did not bother to answer the phone despite me calling a million times. When we bought the garlands to put for the gods they said temple closed. They refused to let us in and would give an explanation. At least have the decency to update the Google timing or answer the phone. Don't do this to people.

A temple in the heart of Singapore. No appointment required. The main Deity are Ganesh, Laxmi and Karthik. Other than that there is shivling, kali maa and more. It's a wonderful temple to visit in heart of Singapore. The outer part of the temple is carved out just as you will find in old south Indian temples. Inside it's structure where each diety has it's own small temple. I saw many people offering milk to shiva linga and some were offering diyas. It's on the main street in Singapore and hence easy to visit 7 to 10 minutes walking distance from little india metro station and directly reachable by taxi or Bus. Registering and Showing your vaccination status on trace together app is compulsory.

Before you go inside, you need to take off your shoes (just leave them outside the gates), you can wear your socks or be barefooted. It's such a bummer that it's not allowed to take pictures inside, but the figures are REALLY colorful and amazing. I asked the guide about what the figures mean, and he told me that it depicts the life of the Gods — they're not really different from us, they still need to eat and drink, and the figures also show their favorite food, etc. Basically the figures tells the stories visually.

Wonderful Hindu temple in the center of Singapore's Little India. Inside you'll find a serene and welcoming atmosphere and many beautiful sculptures and altars. Be sure to remove your shoes before entering.

About a 10 minute walk from the little India mrt station. The architecture of the temple is brilliant. It was very busy on a Saturday at 6pm so I recommend not going on weekends. There are lots of shops in the area leading up to the temple.

When you are out of India and you see Hindu temple and that too well maintained and managed the a temple in India you feel so proud. The temple has so many statues and the architecture and painting is really good lot of silver work done in the gate of main Sri Veeramakaliamman temple. I was more happy when saw so many foreigners coming to the temple and were amazed after seeing the statues and work. I just have request to the temple running people that they should not allow anyone in shorts atleast please.

Right at the heart of Little India and close by another tourist attraction, the Sri Veeramakaliamman is a temple dedicated to the Goddess Kali. To enter take heed on the restrictions and photo pass. At the moment the once colorful paintings at the exterior have faded a bit due to the baking sun. Nonetheless, this is a temple worth visiting. #RP

Beautiful Temple in middle of little India. It has idols of many God and Goddesses. I went on a day when they were performing havan and it was being done in a very good manner.

Never been to a hindu temple before so this was a quite unique experience to me. I will now more often. Very nice people and quite interesting to see this temple and get near the hindu belief. Very nice sculpture which all have been done in a lot of details. This temple specifically is dedicated to the godnesses Kali and Parvathi and was build 1881.
