This place is simply beautiful. It has completed a major renovation not too long ago. They have added a spacious carpark. Hence parking should not be a problem during off peaks. If the gantry does not detect your card, pls insert or tap your card at the machine. Pls also note that there are 2 sets of lifts in 2 different locations. One set serving B3 to 1st. The other set serves level 2 onwards. This temple is especially popular to the older generation. I do see relatively many elderly visit this temple. It may be because of its long history of almost 90 years. It used to serve free vegetarian food. But I think they have stopped doing that because of covid measures. Also, I am particularly impressed with some of the captions in the temple. It enhances my understanding. Pls refer to the photos for more information about this magnificent temple.

It's an enlightenment experience. When your gaze falls on Sakyamuni at Buddha Hall, the outpouring vibes of wonderment will suddenly appear and you will be awestruck. This needs oneself to look at Sakyamuni with your heart and calm your mind down. Still nothing is wasted in my trip to this Buddhist Lodge. A first time visitor myself. I am pleasantly struck with joy by a volunteer Ms Andi, fluency in both English and Mandarin, my conversation with her was profoundly inspirational and it lifted up my spirit and filled up my faith that having divine grace and mercy will guide and comfort us in this global crisis we are all in. Thank you.

The Singapore Buddhist Lodge is a Chinese temple that has established many decades. The building has been rebuilt and extended over times, it now looks beautiful and grand. There are gigantic Buddha statues that look solemn and dignified. Every quarterly, the place has 'walking cum chanting meditation ' practising mindfulness of Buddha. At this time, the temple is crowded with devotees and volunteers. I enjoy eating delicious vegetarian foods in the basement. They provide 3 meals a day and it is open for public too, starting around 7.30 am. You can enjoy scrumptious breakfast. Their canteen is clean, neat and spacious.

A temple and one of the oldest charitable organization. Well known for years in Singapore for its charity work and support to the needy. It’s been some time since I last visited this temple. Spacious and always frequent by locals & visitors alike. Apart from organising religious activities such as chanting session, the temple also has a library and TCM clinic. In addition, there’s vegetarian hall open to the public. Overall ambience was calm, soothing & serene. Visitors are encouraged to follow the dressing code to show respect prior entering the temple. Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu! 🙏🙏🙏

This place is open to public, no restrictions to any religion. From basement, there is the canteen where one can have free meals sponsored by people. Then ground level, is where all the worshipping took place. Almost all statues are giant sized. Very beautiful and majestic. Further up different floors have different functions, like admin office and abode for monks, to obituaries, to chanting rooms. Good place to seek refuge when feeling lost or stressed.

Incredible experience at this temple. The energy of this place is just amazing. Everything really well kept, wonderful. I think this is the biggest and most beautiful buddhist temple on singapore.

A friend recommended the TCM clinic here on the 4th floor, so I came on a Sunday afternoon. The place was not crowded and the counter staff were friendly. Consultation fee was affordable at $4 and you could choose your preferred physician by paying a little more. Do tell them your preference for your medicine to be dispensed either as pills or in powder form. I waited for 1.5 hours before my turn even though i was 7th in queue. If you choose a less popular one, waiting time could be reduced to 20mins! Doctor is patient. Whether medicine is effective remains to be seen. The 1st and 7th floors are for religious worshipping purposes. There is free lunch too though I didn't try it. A nice and pleasant place.

Visited this place last Friday as we engaged them to do a one month chanting/prayer for our late parents during the 7th Month of Lunar Calendar. It is located uphill along Kim Yam Road, about 12 mins walk from Fort Canning MRT, surrounded by private housing estates & shop houses. Like the quiet & clean environment of the whole place, very well maintained. There was signage to the basement for free vegetarian place so we followed the crowd to give a try. Many elderly people were in the queue & I can’t imagine how much food they provide to the public everyday ❤️

The main hall which houses the main Buddha statue was renovated in recent year. There is a certain serene grandeur to the place. It is lavish but not opulent. The artwork on the walls and ceiling is exquisite and meticulous. This Buddhist temple has been around for several decades. Growing up, it has been a place where my family and I frequent to make our worship to the Buddha and I have witnessed how it has undergone major improvements over the years. This temple is one of the rare number of places of worship in Singapore which offers free vegetarian food to visitors the whole year round (except at the moment due to the pandemic).

Nice place to enjoy the Buddhist Chinese art. The huge shrine inside will definitely give you calm vibes and a lavish feeling. They have few levels inside the complex and provide good but cheap TCM service in one of the levels which I really enjoyed. Stuff is friendly enough but more into Chinese speaking. Will be visiting again

This is where my family's Tablet's placed. It's a very clean and well organized Buddhist Lodge. Free daily vegetarian food is offered to all devotees and visitors. Singapore Buddhist Lodge have provided yearly donations to the needy and other charitable bodies regardless of race or religion!

Came to the fifth floor of the Buddhist Lodge, usually chanting and dharma classes are held here. Free meals are provided 3 times a day at basement 1 (canteen). Meals are sponsored and operated by volunteers. If you’re keen for donation or administrative information - please head to 2nd floor(office). A peaceful and welcoming temple practicing Mahayana Buddhism with friendly and helpful community. You can light a candle to offer to Buddha, the amount to donate is free will. Toilets are kept quite clean most times.

Been a regular there since 2012. Seen the sacred building dismantled and rebuilt. Grander than ever! Unfortunately I have to make some comments that are not too pleasant after my visit on Winter Solstice. The office was packed. I got #156 and gather that I needed to wait at least 90 minutes. So I decided to run some errands and come back later. When I returned the number on the signage was #158. I approached the counter and informed the clerk that I just missed my number. She appeared unhappy and annoyed. She said didn't I notice that my number was called? I said I just came back from outside and it was not that the number overran by that many. Anyway she attended to me and I knew she really "buay kam guan." I have been doing the same thing every month and the records are there. She just didn't want to do it properly for me. I just "kua pua bo pien" and "sui pian." It's really not nice to argue in front of so many people especially in a holy place. Defeats the purpose of coming. I just took the receipt and walk away calmly. Perhaps it's a message that I need not come to Buddhist Lodge anymore. I miss the time when the late Lodge Elder Lee was around. More down to earth and no nonsense. Donors were given a separate counter and no need to queue. This is the spirit of Buddhism that facilitates compassion and giving. I felt a door closed in my face. But I am sure Amitabha will open another door for me to continue what I have done for years

(Translated by Google) Big, beautiful and renovated. Reflection of a great preceding effort of a collective, united. Singapore is a multiracial society, the temple welcomes everyone, regardless of race or religion. It consists of several floors, from parking to dining room, plants to pray, meditate, library, for those who are no longer .. in short, a place with a large number of facilities. Provides free food (3 shifts, buffet-style and self-service). for those in need or anyone who wants to know the temple and enjoy it. I found it amazing I was surprised. Also, the food is very good, vegetarian. Of course, everyone who decides to visit it, it is important to be respectful and polite, without taking too much food or going to spare and leave what is used collected, following the rules of the dining room. No type of ticket or ticket is necessary. It is a peaceful and pleasant, curious and interesting place for anyone who wants to know more about this belief and culture. (Original) Grande, bonito y reformado. Me pareció increíble me sorprendió.

Was delighted to find vegetarian food near my workplace and always make donations with much gratitude. However there’s one kitchen staff in uniform was hostile with appalling approach when I used a plate as a base for a bowl of soup. I was told not to repeat in future and walked off while there were still food in my mouth. I checked with another staff out of curiosity and was told that I’m wasting their water and detergent 🙄. Holding a hot soup may spill or scorch my hands. No trays provided. So? No signage was displayed. ‘Free meals” will always encounter these type of people. Sad as we are trying to encourage layman to be vegetarian with kindness and compassion which is not present there

singapore buddhist lodge or 居士林 in chinese is not really a temple, as u can see from its name and architecture (quite new to be honest). there are also buddha statues and mahavira halls, but yeah not that temple-like. it is mainly sponsored by devouted buddhists, especially its dining hall, providing FREE MEALS including breakfast, lunch and dinner to the PUBLIC. literally means that you can simply walk in and enjoy the buddhist cuisine (fully vegetarian) which i found quite nice👍 most are uncles anties but also got youngsters coming. also there are often lectures and seminars here, ans most are open to the public

Tucked inside residential area of River Valley, the temple is extremely warmhearted to peoples from all walks off life. The recent restructuring giving more lights and great accessibility to visitors. One good thing that doesn't change be the continuity of free warm food to anybody and much appreciated amongst many. Thank you. Amitabha 🙏

A renowned temple with long history in Singapore, the Buddhist lodge houses beautifully carved statutes of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas and murals which represent various episodes in Buddhist culture and history. It also offers free and delicious vegetarian food from it's received donations which helps to feed both the poor and needy, and vegetarian lovers, which is actually of immense kindness. It also reminds us that rich or poor, we are all the same. You will wash your own cutlery used...which again is a lesson to us all in humbleness. Besides implicit life lessons, there are always some cultural activities such as chanting or classes going on. Do go for an authentic cultural and vegetarian experience, and most importantly, relearn what it truly means to be human!
