Killiney @ Purvis Street

Cafe Coffee shop

👍 Came over for Sunday lunch and thankfully not crowded. The coffee at Killiney is similar to those you have at Yakun or Toastbox what makes the difference is they hor fun served on clay pot. The gravy is thick and delicious. Nice Aircon environment to slurp up your hor fun with chilies when it is not... People often mention coffee,

Old school Hainanese Food Vibes. Very hearty but lack of some sparks compared to a few years ago.

Kaya toast with eggs set so awesome as a typical Singaporean breakfast. The fried beehoon and the carrot cake is good too. This place is now more busy after they renovated. The service is very nice n friendly

Revamped place deserves four stars. I would say even 4.5 stars! Service is impeccable - friendly and thoughtful. Even helped my father-in-law to his seat. Food is almost unrecognisably good - close to the original Killiney standards. Kopi, toast, mee rebus, mee siam, bee hoon - all tasty. And it is now air-conditioned! Previously, I would only give it one star max. But now, it is a totally different experience. The new owner Mr Goh has totally transformed the place. Must try!

Disappointing experience in many aspects. Firstly when I arrive there wasn’t anyone to wait me to my table or help me with figuring out what I should do. Basically I had to find a table myself. After ordering, the wait time for the food and drinks is ridiculously long. I didn’t order anything fancy, basically toasted bread and chee cheong fun (which I believe is pre-made/ ready to eat) along with 2 hot drinks. The wait was at least 20 mins long. In terms of taste, they were all average tasting and nothing really stood out. Price was on the higher side too (paying more for brand than food). For the overall service, wait time, and food, definitely not worth a second visit for such an experience.

Came back to have my all-time-favorite Penang Char Kuey Tiow but ended up with great disappointment. Sadly no more Malaysian taste it turned to soggy and sweat Singaporean style. I wonder, was it due to COVID situation that the Malaysian chef cannot enter SG to work(。>д<)

Decent eatery that is thankfully open at 7am. Good for diners who have dropped their kids at school before sunrise and are heading to the the office.

I can't say the food is great but they are acceptable and fill the stomach... I have higher expectations of their coffee but it doesn't meet my expectations
