Really cute coffee + work cafe, you can see lots of solo diners with their laptops working away and coffee is great too. Space is bright and airy. Only popped in for a quick coffee after lunch so I don’t have any reviews for food. There’s also a cap of 1.5hrs per dining session which is more than sufficient for a coffee break.

Really enjoy the food, ambience and service! I went with my family and there were seats available during tea time. Could potentially be crowded so you might want to make a reservation early. Will highly recommend! 👍🏻

I love this cafe's vibe. I enjoy their art gallery and their brunch also really good, not only nice plating but actually well seasoned. Their coffee is perfect with brunch. They have japanese aesthetics and concept, including their staffs wearing cool kimono. I wish i could visit them again someday!

The service was great and I love the settings, look and feel. It's a nice place to chill with your friends. We ordered some bites and drinks. They looked great but tasted alright. Mentaiko Fries were kinda oily and chicken poppers had no taste (dependent on the sauce). Would return again to try the Sando next time.

Now Apparently, This is not just a Cafe. Cycled past last Friday evening surprised to find them still open as most cafes do not operate past 5/6pm, and at that very moment, I really needed to get off the bike for a refresh and refuel. Walked in to be greeted by the barman fixing a cocktail (my timing is how perfect!) and asked for a variation of the classic Negroni. It's my way of truly testing the capability of any in-house bar and the skills at hand. Took my seat outdoors as the weather was cool, got served a moment later and boy it tasted good and had depth, just the way I like it. Seeming like I'd be staying for a while after this first sip, I asked the wait staff abt what kinda food they serve after cafe hours and these are the pictures that ensued. Did I overdo it?

Came here for brunch on Sunday, relatively empty and easy to get a table. 2 levels, we sat upstairs since there were more tables. Service was attentive. Coffee was good, food was average. Will probably come back for the coffee.

Ultimately found my favorite cozy hideout away from home here at Grids. The delicious and unique food is amaaaaaazing. The service is beyond terrific, Ming Yang was our server who was excellently equipped with knowledge of the food and beverages from the menu, friendly, well-mannered, and heartwarming. Felt like a comfy haven having lunch here today. A great place for working from a cafe, catch up with friends, having meals with loved ones, or just a quiet solo moment. I adore the simple, hippy, minimalist decor from what is on the merchandise shelves to the food, the cafe, and even the toilet la 😂 so simple yet so nice and cozy. Aircon was terrific on a hot sunny day - a plus point for me. Price is right. Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here and wanted to visit for dinner with my husband that very day as well but they were closing soon. Oh, and the 2nd and 3rd floors make really great private event space. Shall cater future events here. Will certainly be my frequent place to chill and dine in. In short, this cafe feels like home ☺️

Overall amazing experience, would definitely head back again. Service was great! They were really friendly and assisted us well (as it was our first time there). Lavender coffee was amazing!!!! 10/10 😍 though I’ll choose the cold option the next time~ it was more nutty than fruity, so not as acidic! Food choices were good, fulfilling, satisfying and their prices were reasonably priced! The interior of the cafe was amazing as there was an art gallery on level 2, and the stairs also had different kinds of decorations which was really cool. 10/10!!! We enjoyed our time here, Would definitely come back again ❤️

I’d give 6/5 stars ⭐️🌟🌟🌟🌟if I could bc of the 💯 all-round experience in food, space, comfort & really amazing SERVICE. I’m definitely headed back there again LOL 🥪 SANDOS: - dining partner had salmon “losing Nemo” & it was so tasty my dining partner was rly just fully SAVOURING it. - I got customized Bazinga sando (special order - made Vegetarian! 🌱Swopped out Bacon 🥓 for mushrooms 🍄) & this is amazing! They already got “Forrest Gump” Sando for vegan option, but if you want chunkier savoury avo in sandwich, they actually readily kindly accommodated a veg version & I just LOVE how flexible they are, bc beyond just eliminating the non-veg ingredient, & normally I just pay same price at other places, they even bothered to REPLACE/top up with another veg ingredient instead 🥹. & that opens up WAY MORE menu options for other vegetarians out there. Love the inclusiveness 💗 🌟💯🧑🏻‍🍳Service: staff so incredibly kind, attentive, cheerful & welcoming, & showed so much INITIATIVE in guiding, clarifying & assisting whether on menu options, felt they rly went above & beyond in their call of duty & this was THROUGHOUT entire experience - from front door, to guiding us to tables/toilets, explaining /recommending AND kindly customising menu (made mine veg) orders, to even frequent table service on water top-ups/ extra cutlery, or dessert clarifications (sadly no bakes / ice creams now) yet without being overbearing 🥹 & even despite us using the Burpple discount as a first order. But consider myself a won over customer for sure hahhaa Amenities🧴🚽: easy access to serviettes, water, clean stocked toilets on both floors, sufficient tables & sufficiently wide table space and power plugs even for working/studying people?! 🤯amazed this was possible even on a Sunday peak period. & yes there’s wifi avail. Space: so cozy for chill hangs, and the 2nd floor seating was so spacious & well-lit, IG fanatics can be sure to get their wonderful pictures in natural glistening sunlight that peeks through ✨ the rooftop windows on good sunny days. also a good hideaway even on hot aftns. Location: very accessible!!

Grids Coffee Latte hit all the right notes for me. I've tried several coffee joints around the area and the Brazilian beans with it's chocolatey, sweet finish (sugarless) made me crave every sip. The coffee art was a bit off.. 😂 But the taste more than made up for it. I'll definitely be back for more next time! ❤️

Had chicken waffle and I was so surprised by how well marinated and juicy the chicken patty was. Not to mention that the batter was light and crispy, which is totally different from other chicken waffles that I have tasted. Although the waffle is quite filling and a bit tough but overall was good. The server was attentive and ran us through the menu, ensuring us that we were satisfied.

Popped by on a Tuesday morning and it was rather quiet - perfect for those taking a break from the hustle and bustle. Kyoto cheese cake, which came with ice cream, whipped cream and ?biscoff crumbs was yum for the price. Lavender coffee was pretty fragrant. $16 for the peaceful hour was worth it.

Had a gathering held here at their event space and it was an absolute breeze. Communication with Joni was easy, and the crew was really helpful throughout. Had praises for the food served as well! Definitely will be back to try out the different highly raved food on the menu. Thank you!

Great selection over a simple menu. If you drive, need to plan nearest parking location in advance. Great service by Colin and his team was attentive throughout my lunch. Do check out their Bar menu too with inhouse cocktails and bar bites. Energetic young owners in F&B scene

Sat on the second floor. We ordered iced latte and flat white, very mild and average coffee. The salmon rice was unique and tasted really flavourful with the broth, while sadly chicken on the chicken and waffles was not fried. Chicken and waffles also did not look visually appetising. I was not a big fan of the interior and furniture as it looked and felt cheap like I was sitting in Ikea. The service however was good.

First time here and really like the sandwich and waffle. The staff are polite and friendly. Acoustic here can be improved but this is typical of shophouse setting. Will come back again for my Sunday brunch!

Very nice place to have brunch and chill for the afternoon. Lavender Latte? wasn't in the main menu but everyone was recommending it, secret menu item? It was pretty good. Salmon Ochazuke tasted great, every bite was delicious and the salmon was cooked to perfection. Do take note that they have 2 floors so it isn't as small as it looks.

Awesome experience at Grids Coffee! We had luggages with us when we came in but one of the friendly staff told us they could help keep it in their storeroom. More seats are available on the second floor which is quite spacious. Delightful to see that they were featuring artwork by local artists. There is a small counter situated on the second floor which makes it convenient to place your orders. The food and drinks are superb! However, do note that you are only limited to 90mins of dine in timing.

Not mindblowing but definitely a safe option if you're in the area. We had the normal breakfast bacon and eggs which was really underwhelming.. the grapes and tomatoes and salad were not very palatable but the eggs and sausage was good. The mentaiko fries are really nice! The avocado toast was quite interesting and fresh too (would rather order that next time). Coffee wise nothing special but it is definitely still a good cup of coffee around the area. Matcha cake was actually surprisingly good and addictive HAHAH

Amazing little coffee shop with great food and drinks options. Best avocado toast I've ever eaten in my life and one of the best whites (latte) as well. Coffee is smooth and delicate with absolute balance of coffee and milk. The ambiance is cozy, staff is very kind, welcoming and polite, absolutely amazing bunch of girls and boys! Highly recommended!

Was here on a weekday, so less crowded, but I can imagine this place to be full of people during the weekend. My Lavender Latte was excellent. The ambient is very nice with extra seatings on first and second floor. Not the most convenient but totally understandable considering the amount of space available.

A cafe in the morning and a bar at night, Grids is located in Chinatown with a shophouse. The first floor has limited seating but primarily hosts the bar for coffee and alcohol. The second floor is much quieter but has dimmer lighting. Would recommend the first floor for better photos. A lot of reviews here also mention the good service, would definitely agree! Chicken & Waffles ($18) Did not manage to take a nice photo to do this justice but a strong recommend! Crispy thin-battered fried chicken atop mochi waffles with bacon, caramelized walnuts and creamy truffle slaw on the side. It definitely scratched the chicken and waffles itch I’ve had for a while! The waffles are basically mochi, giving it a chewy and stretchy texture that really pairs well with the other crunchy elements. Also the entire dish is not overly sweet - the burnt honey has a smoky flavour that goes well with the slightly toasted but sweet mochi. Surprisingly, the bulk of the sweetness comes from the mochi waffles! Long Black ($5.50) The beans used are different from those used in cocktails and the latte(white). The long black uses Ethiopian beans, giving it a bright acidity and floral notes. If you’re more interested in the flavour profiles of your coffee, definitely give this a try over the latte!

Good place to study, work, eat and drink. There's coffee, tea, kombucha tea!! Lavender milk drink! And food like peri chicken with greens, crispy bacon with spicy aioli and egg etc All day breakfast too! And plenty of power sockets on level 2. Nice to chill or work here.

Came here at mid-day. The service crew is totally friendly and they are always ready to answer your questions. My wife and I were seated at the counter table and was curious about the way they prepare the coffee and they are so enthusiastic in answering our questions. Coffee is good and if you wanna try waffle that is different, try their waffle that has a mix of Mochi texture which is chewy. My wife is not a waffle person but she totally love this waffle. Do drop by to support if you are nearby.

“A solid coffee joint” Having walked past Grids Coffee Bar many times in the past, often en route to other coffee places in the area, my colleagues and I decided to give it a try, and it was really great. During our visit it was rather packed and we were offered a table at the upstairs dining area and it was really nice. We had our coffee, and it was really great. The price was really fair as well. Service was really warm and friendly too, unlike other coffee joints that takes things a little too seriously. But what do I know you’ve gotta come check it out yourself. I just drink too much coffee to think that I’m actually qualified to leave a review like that.

Coffee is good. Ordered two mains, it was average. Feels the combination of ingredients are odd and don't blend well altogether. Had their mochi waffle with ice cream for dessert last time, it was good and highlight for the return.

Went there for dinner with my friends and the overall experience was great. Love their fried cauliflower, it’s soft yet not drying. We ordered edamame hummus, wagyu steak, yakitori platter, losing Nemo sliders and mentaiko fries to share. The friendly staff recommended me to get pear so plumpy when I asked for a ladies drink. Will definitely go back again for their food and drinks.

Again your hustlin’ boy and girl 💁‍♂️💁‍♀️ were desperately looking for a place to study (and of course, fill our bellies 😋) so we hunted down yet another cafe in the chinatown area to chill out and eat hehe. Grids Coffee Bar is just opposite cross street exchange and features three storeys worth of seats, study spots, and of course those cafe vibes you’ve been looking for! Even better, they’re ALSO on burpple 🥹🤑 - we immediately eyed upon and settled with their beautiful sandos. First up is the mighty 𝙋𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙤 ($16). You’d definitely notice the thiccc panko pork loin 🐷🍖 sitting in the sando - it was SO inviting that we had to resist taking a big bite when it was served HAHA. The pork was crisp and firm yet tender, giving you that satisfying crunch from the skin and juiciness from the meat. The pear shibazuke pickle was a sour punch in the face that balanced out the richness and saltiness of the pork too! 🤩 The 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙠𝙠𝙞𝙚 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙡 ($15) featured crispy bacon 🥓 as the protein which was delicious and not overtly salty. The avocado pear jam 🥑🍐 was light and refreshing, and cleverly added to this combination! Okay we gotta admit we were also here for the scrambled eggs HAHA, they were good but we do wish the scrambled eggs were a bit more creamy. Taste: 3/5 Stonks: 4/5 (with burpple 1-for-1) Overall: 3.5/5 👍👍 The sandos at Grids Coffee Bar were solid and decent 🫶🫶, and were definitely a change from the usual cafe powerhouses out there. Have to mention their aircon temperature though - it was SO cold 🥶 that we couldn’t really stay there for long! Follow us on IG: @toofoodtomiss for more foodie content!

If you love good coffee, good food/drinks & good vibes, this is the place to be! If you're a coffee lover, you'd definitely enjoy the coffee here. The perfect way to kickstart your day(or night). Great selection of perfectly seasoned food that makes you want to try everything on the menu. The cocktails are a must try! Their spin on the classic cocktails really blew my mind. To me, the service at Grids is outstanding. Everyone (yes i really mean everyone) is friendly, warm yet professional even during peak dining hours. It's something you don't get very often in cafes. Highly recommend to visit Grids, and I will definitely be back again. Thank you for the amazing experience/service!

Coming here for a brunch and chose to sit outside because I love how it’s located just beside the crossroad. You can sit, enjoy your surrounding while having your daily dose of caffeine. Coffee was great ofc.

It's a quaint spot in the day that serves homely Japanese-inspired food and pretty good coffee, though price is steep for the tiny cup of coffee you get. The real highlight is the bar that my partner and I were patronising until it recently closed for renovations.. we hope it will reopen soon because the drinks are fantastic and super reasonably priced - $16 each and better than some of the fancy bars we've tried. If you are not a fan of loud bars and want some quality cocktails, this is the place. The bartender Jo does a great job explaining the drinks. We especially love the Bee's Knees.

Food wise spot on, loved the all day breakfast menu, mentaiko fries, lovely lavender latte. Packed Saturday lunch, but staff were still helpful & friendly. Excellent location between Telok Ayer & Chinatown, at a tucked away spot that’s artsy on L2 and L3 (events space), while L1 serves as a chic alfresco IG-worthy front / retail space (check out the Bhutan memorabilia)!

First time here and pleasantly surprised by the great service (special mention to Chang) & delectable food! My daughter loves her tonkatsu sandon. The smoked duck chilled capellini was a great dish to have on a hot day! Chicken katsu curry omurice was done nicely too. Chicken breast was used but it was surprisingly moist and not dry at all. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Nice little cafe to chill at at the edge of the CBD and Chinatown, the staff are friendly and polite and they have some interesting drinks like the lavender latte! Didn't get to explore the store but it looks very nicely decorated with some interesting items for sale as well!

Came here with my wife last week after she insisted on me trying this place out. (She absolutely love the food and service here) And now, I do too. The menu is not extensive but it is sufficient and rather interesting. I truly enjoyed them. Coffee was great! Food portion was big which was very satisfying for me. The service was excellent as we were greeted and served warmly - food and drinks were served very fast too which is another plus point. A simple minimalist cafe that is cozy. Quiet and still even thought most of the tables were occupied. Would definitely return to try out the sake for myself and the desserts for my wife next time as we were too full this visit. And if in need of a quiet place to read, work or just chill, I think Grids make a great place for that.

Love the place. Love the ambience, 2nd floor is like coworking space and perfectly place to do your work-from-anywhere things here. I like the cold brew, price wise is good. Most important, love the service. Close 4pm-6pm, reopen at 6pm. Better come before 4pm.
