I have stayed at Peninsula Hotel in the past but this was my first time dining at the rooftop bar. Upon walking in, the area was clean and modern and a sign containing the dress code contained no slippers. I was greeted by a man who didn’t seem to understand English. I asked him if it was possible to have a table and to dine without a reservation now (which I didn’t think would be an issue as it was empty). He didn’t seem to understand.... after a few minutes of awkwardness I was able to select a table and headed up to the second floor. When I sat down at a table, he only then asked if I wanted a menu.... then disappeared downstairs and a few minutes later I was greeted by a half enthusiastic waitress who delivered two books - one drinks menu and one food menu. The price for food starts about $19SGD and carries on upwards to almost $40SGD. The cocktails start from $15SGD upwards to whole bottles at a staggering $150SGD. I ordered a brandy Alexander and Sweet sour pork with steamed rice. It arrived quickly and promptly and was presented very well. However, the serving size disappointing with merely a palm serving size of chicken and plenty of tomatoes and capsicum and lettuce leaves, the best part was the plain steamed rice, cooked to perfection. The sauce and glaze, disappointing, it lacked flavour. I ordered a pannacotta dessert, and a Jack Daniels and a cocktail for my lunch companions who had just walked in. Their drinks arrived very quickly, the dessert took 18mins (still empty restaurant). When it arrived, I was extremely pleased with the presentation. Pannacotta with what looked like Jam on top and sided with a single strawberry, glaze, 4 blueberries and what appeared to be an mini orange tomato. Beautiful presentation 5/5 and serving size much better 👌. However the taste was comparable to that of an old custard. The blueberries sour (which can’t be helped), the strawberries nice. But the winner was the orange tomato which surprisingly was very sweet. It is also worth noting that this place at NIGHT time has the best views of the City and excellent picture ops. If I had to rate my experience based solely on the views alone, it would be 12/10! Phenomenal views. So you may wonder why I have decided to overall rate my experience 2/5. There are a few reasons: Whilst understandably this is a restaurant with excellent views of the city, located at the top of a prestigious 4 star hotel.... the staff lacks the enthusiasm and top notch service to match it. Everything was either not understood or given with attitude from the staff. The main reason was because whilst myself and my colleagues were dining and attempting to converse about our business, one of the employees decided to turn on the loud vacuum cleaner right next to us. Not only could we not hear each other talk, I couldn’t even hear myself speak! It started downstairs then continued upstairs for what felt like 10minutes. This is not what I consider fine dining. Not only could we not talk but I was still attempting to eat my food and keep it away from the dust coming out of the vacuum cleaner a mere step and half away from me. At the end of the experience, my ears were ringing and I was left with a poor taste in my mouth. So 2/5 overall, my suggestion? Eat and drink elsewhere and just come up for the view.

Good food, but real attribute of this hotel is the spectacular view of the city. Never very crowded and possible to reserve the entire second floor of the restaurant where there is a balcony.

First off, they charge $30 to get up to the Skybar. The $30 is a “credit” for your drinks which start at $26 for a basic Gin & Soda. I’m watching the bar tender pour the drink right in front of me, they use the small shot glass (rip off!!!). The bartender then recommended a Singapore Sling that I believe was $30 for a cocktail with what in other countries is considered a half shot. For an appetizer, the Bartender said the Japanese Shrimp was very popular and good. I believe it cost $35 and out of my 5 decades of eating food all over the world, this was the worst thing I’ve ever put in my mouth!!! It was deep fried whole shrimp that had the taste of saw dusk fragments. Absolutely disgusting 🤮. The other issue is your confined in an area where you can’t even get to the best viewing area because that is reserved for the people who pay to go to the Viewing Deck. I had a reservation for stay at the hotel for 4 nights, but after my experience at the Sky Lounge, I canceled my reservation and booked another Hotel that has very good reviews. My suggestion if your going to the Sky Lounge? Take a large tube of KY Jelly and be prepared to get royalty screwed! 😵‍💫

10/10 The only i give them the rare full 5, is because they were extremely extremely accommodating for my boys, aged 7 and 4. I could say it was off peak when we visited. But the truth is, I've stayed in other 5* hotels and they don't budge from their stupid rules saying it disturbs the guests, even though there is no one around! It is up to discretion of the club. And this sky lounge just allowed it. As for the rest, food and drinks are fresh, served perfectly. We had access to the sky lounge as we were staying in their premium club rooms. So you could go there for canapes in the evening or have their selection of breakfast. The views are absolutely stunning, night or day. The ginger ale is so good. Must try. The atmosphere in the evening is perfect for cozy meet up or casual meeting. Upscale, posh, pristine, whatever words come to mind, fit! Thank you sky lounge for making my trip so memorable. Kiss kiss

Very nicely done, the dark furniture creates a cozy atmosphere! The service is great, the food is very good! Not cheap, but you pay for the view! It's best to sit on the bay side, where you won't be able to hear the noise from the neighboring hotel!

Rooftop bar with a wonderful view on Marina Bay. It deserves a visit! They seem not used to accomodate people who don’t stay in the hotel: at lobby of the hotel they had to ask if we could get at roof bar, and asked an hotel customer to make the road for us… we understood that a key room was needed to get the lift ;-)

👍👍 My friends and I went to Khansama on a Sunday evening. Good that we booked as the place was quite crowded. The food is really food and portions are generous.
