Big Chinatown complex in the center of Chinatown, just behind the temple. There are many stores for shopping and food court area too. Many chinese elderly gather together for dancing in front of the complex at night. Super chill and fun to watch. You can join their dancing as well if you want.

Loved that many of the old stalls are still around, and many are operated by the family members of the original owners. The variety of traditional style items to be found is amazing. The food options on the seconds level are staggering. Very happy to find some stalls from my childhood still in operation and tastes as I remembered them.

I just realised that this ice cream stall has taken over the Google Maps page of the entire Chinatown Complex, whether intentional or not. ========== The rest of Chinatown has already been infiltrated by mainland Chinese. Chinatown Complex is probably the last stronghold of local Chinese food and culture.

A huge hawker centre. I never been there in the morning / day but evening is buzzling with zi chat stalls. At night, there are many stalls selling steamed song head which is a signature.

Great place. A few shops here for Chinese New year decorations and if you are looking for authentic Chinese clothes. Otherwise the main reason to come here is for the amazing and cheap food court with Michelin star places too! Well worth it.

A Chinatown for Chinese stuffs. Explore the places for things which you might not find anywhere else. Love the food at the 2nd level. You will be spoil for choices. Nearby, there is the market Street and the Buddha relic Temple. There is also an indian Temple nearby. Maxwell food centre is also within walking distance.

This is an incredible place. Plenty of food and retail outlets, located in an area with even more interesting things to see, to do and to experience. The food choices are a mix of mostly traditional dishes from many parts of China and the Southeast Asia region. Famous stalls are clearly indicated by perpetual long queues of patrons. Free seating tables and the floors are nowadays well cleaned, unlike the bad old days. But please do not expect a squeaky clean environment as this is afterall a hawker centre where people come for a quickly meal and move on. Plenty of parking upstairs but it gets very crowded at peak hours where both parking lots and tables are hard to find. Below the hawker centre are retail stalls selling mostly household needs for festive occasions and a traditional Asian wet market where fresh poultry, pork, beef, vegetable etc can be bought.

I have been visiting this place many times and I always enjoy the variety and quality of the food here. Most stalls have been selling for decades and they know how to cook their dishes well. You could try the old school snacks here. I especially love the chendol here, which is a refreshing dessert of shaved ice, coconut milk, palm sugar, and green jelly noodles. The portion is generous and the price is reasonable. The only downside is that the hygiene could be further improved, as some tables and utensils are not very clean. The place can also get quite crowded and noisy during peak hours.

Great eatery, nothing fancy, good price food and a huge range of choice for everyone. Highly recommended. Just off Smith Street Singapore China Town - easy to get to via Train or Bus.

This is a go to place for many foreign visitors being regularly highlighted for its variety of local food and decent prices. But the hygiene of the sitting areas has to be improved. Tables are left uncleaned, being a local I too felt uncomfortable sitting and eating in this hawker Center. We need roving helpers going around the Center ensuring tables and chairs are clean.

Have not visited this place for two years! Had a very nice chicken rice lunch that comes with white carrot soup cost $6.20 👍. Take away half a roast duck ($16) for dinner. Bought some fresh herbs and ginger flowers from the basement wet market for cooking. Nice shopping though is hot and humid 😎.

Chinatown Complex is a popular place among the locals and it's a favourite tourist hotspot. It has a long history of many years. Many adults are able to associate this place with their childhood memories. I have visited this place and it's vicinity many times since 45 years ago. This complex has signifies the solidarity of the history of Chinatown and memories of many as the nation transforms progressively.

3.5 stars Came here at 10am. Avoided rush hours. Still a lot of people, but much more easier to find a table and particular stalls on level 2. Staff clean the tables promptly. There is an old lady sitting at a desk in front of toilets. Give her $0.1 then go into the toilet. So toilets are ok clean, but no toilet paper available. When I came out from the toilet, just saw a lot of toilet paper in her drawer. Not sure need to extra money for toilet paper. Four entrances. Please give some signs for tourists to show directions to some attractions or roads. That will be much more easier for tourists.

So many delicious dishes to try and I only have one stomach 😋. Honestly a must visit location in Singapore with so many small restaurants in it. There are also shops in the lower levels if that's what you are looking for.

We arrived about 6.20pm and headed towards the Food Centre for dinner. The place was packed with dinner crowd and the 4th level parking was full even at that time. 80% of the shops on the ground floor were already closed. After dinner, we took a walk down the lanes. It was 8.20pm Saturday night but most shops shutters were down. I guess the unusual state of affair is due to the pandemic.

Plenty of local delicacies, if you are going for the famous claypot chicken rice (lian he ben ji claypot rice, #02-198 tel 62272470) please call away in advance. Otherwise be disappointed or be prepared to wait 2 hours. Price is definitely most reasonable. We will return with reservation! Avoided disappointment, we ate many other local food, rojak, cuttlefish with kangkong, fried oysters, soya sauce chicken (not the Michelin Hawker Chan) just as good. Overall very good eating experience. Will return for sure, prices are so reasonable

Chinatown is a lot of fun. Can be easily reached by public transportation. Dress casually and be prepared for crowds and very hot humid weather. We had a wonderful meal at Prince William on the food street. Clean conditioned and terrific food. Spring rolls hot and sour soup (enough for 4 or more) stir fry broccoli, crispy chili chicken and vegetable noodles.

  • 5/5 Kia Guan N. 3 years ago on Google
The market is always crowded during the weekends as there are many reasonably priced and fresh meat and stuffs sold in the market which is located at Basement 1. This yong tau foo stall is frequent by many for its fresh and cheap 酿豆腐。You will notice another adjacent stall selling the same stuffs but much lesser queue.
