I came to Chevy's after reading the reply from the owner to the weirdo who left the last review as it made me laugh. More Importantly, he's completely wrong. The bar is far from run down, has a superb atmosphere, isn't too expensive, plays excellent music and has staff who are wonderfully welcoming. As for the preditory females, I didn't notice any so perhaps I was just unlucky 😉

Nice old school bar located along south beach road and beside Haji Lane. A good bar to chill if you want to be away from the rowdy crowd from Haji Lane. Service was exceptional and there is a pool table at the back of the bar if you want to play. A perfect place for a cold Guinness Draft to wind down your evening.

This is an amazing bar, we were looking for that place away from the rat race, and walking past, we felt like this was the place. Before we knew it, we had a few pints on the table and had fantastic meals. Had to go back a few times. Great place and a must-see place.

I love this little bar..might not be to everyone's taste, it's not especially trendy, it's not the hippest place in town, and it doesn't serve gormet food. But it might just be the friendliest bar in Singapore. I discovered by it accident on a business trip..and after just a couple of visits the staff, who went out of their way to make me welcome from the outset, were treating me like a regular. Great atmosphere, exceptional service, good music (if you like 70s and 80s rock & blues), an eclectic multicultural crowd of mostly loyal regulars, but open and welcoming never the less. The kind of place you can walk into alone as a complete stranger, and strike up a conversation and make new friends. A rare gem, if that's your thing.

The Legendary Chevy lives on! Had a superb plate of Hokkien Mee and lots of sides. Bar service is top notch. The staff and patrons are friendly and welcoming. I’ve been away from Singapore for 5 years but Chevy’s is a Singaporean institution that endures the changing times!

I hate to rate this place so well as it's already packed most nights of the week. Good mix of locals, ex-pats and foreign visitors. It's nothing special, and that's the appeal. There's no pandering to hip trends. This is just a good, basic bar. Food is good and simple. Cocktails are strong and on par for Singapore price-wise. I'm not sure if they're willing or able to do anything super fancy but they cover most of the basics of a solid working-class bar. There's a pool table in back that's actually in pretty decent shape, as are the cues. Music is classic rock from the 70's & 80's primarily. Live music on the weekends in the same format. Patrons and staff alike are pleasant and happy to make a new friend. There are a ton of boutique trendy bars in this area, but I won't ever bother trying out any of the others now that I know this one!

We were there on Saturday for a pint of Guiness! Got a small cozy american neighborhood bar vibe! Love love love people there! Amanda and other crew members were amazing! Drinks are very affordable as well!

We came on Friday and there was a great band playing live. All the staff is very nice and friendly, specially Gordon. But the three girls as well. I recommend it for having some drinks with good rock music.

The old waitress, rudely, told us to our faces that we had misordered, even though she had apparently misunderstood our order. My supposedly enjoyable evening with my friend was ruined by the old waitress. I do not want to go even near this place again.

Was here a couple of weeks back with the team. Drinks are alright, staff are prompt. Drinking in Singapore, don't expect cheap with moon and star treatment. On the whole a pleasantly decent experience. Treat them with respect and they will treat you back in kind. Support local guys.

Close at 10:30pm, NOT 2am! Went there at 10pm on a Friday and hope to get a quick drink, but they said they are close even the the closing time on google is 2am. Please update the timing so others won’t come over for nothing.

Waitress killed our vibes by being rude. She came by our table "this is my 3rd time, what do you guys want". Well we are still deciding wth?! Guiness came. It was flat. Must have been from an old keg. 2 stars cause the beer was at the very least cold.

I prefer quieter ambience to be able to talk to my friends properly, so unfortunately I did not like the music that much and it was blasting into our ears the whole time (that... and I'm more of a 90s-00s music person! No offense to your selections). That said, I liked this place more than the other bars nearby because it is located at a corner of the busy street, away from the noisy crowds. Drinks and food were ok, I appreciate that the lady owner allowed us to preorder for post-happy-hour enjoyment, to still enjoy the happy hour discount. She was also accommodative to my needs as I'm an amateur drinker so she recommended a decent cocktail.

The Bar Maid was very knowable when mixing drinks ,and the Friendly's Lady Behind the Bar , The Hokian Mee is the best iv ever had and I head down to Chevy's Bar for my Fix of Hokian Noodle when I have that craving , it's different from the ones you get at all the famous stalls in sg ..and only recently I found out why and what was that Extra goodness in it .... this woman who is the Chef there told me besides all the ingredient used for HN the Chillie is home made by Her, Amanda ... and here is that special tingie which you can't get in and market or shops ...Amanda fries and cooks all the dishes at Chevy's with (LOVE) that's why it taste lovely 😍.... Came here for a game of pool and a beer. Pool table is in excellent condition. Younger female staff member was welcoming and friendly, but unfortunately the experience was ruined by an older male staff member who thought it was appropriate to relentlessly make gauche jokes about someone’s 🤓 glasses over a period of about 30 mins. Very awkward and unusual. The Guinness was flat - may have been an old keg.
