We
wanted
to
try
this
restaurant
after
reading
in
the
news
about
their
Michelin
star.
I
think
that
unfortunately
Michelin
stars
sets
the
wrong
expectation
especially
when
you've
been
to
one
star
Michelin
restaurant
in
France.
This
being
said
the
food
was
excellent
and
the
raw
material
certainly
of
a
great
quality
and
origin.
Dishes
were
well
presented
for
the
starter
and
main
course
but
the
desert
was
very
disappointing.
We've
got
a
good
Paris
Brest.
But
the
bun
was
thrown
in
the
middle
of
the
plain
white
plate
(IKEA
type).
It
did
not
make
justice
to
the
desert
at
all
as
it
looked
like
it
was
just
defrost.
Probably
end
of
the
meal
so
the
chef
pays
less
attention
to
it….
Of
course
you
can
use
the
excuse
of
saying
that’s
a
“bistro”
mindset
but
I
don’t
think
so.
In
my
opinion
that’s
typically
when
you
can
tell
when
people
understand
gastronomy
or
not.
Gastronomy
is
not
only
about
the
taste
but
all
senses
should
be
engaged
and
presentation
is
important!
I
know
the
Chef
is
French
but
I
think
there
is
a
lack
of
professionalism
here.
This
lead
me
to
a
comment
that
you
can
actually
read
below
in
the
other
reviews
(I
only
read
the
reviews
AFTER
our
experience).
Ma
Cuisines
seats
in
between
Gastro
and
Bistro
which
works
well
for
me.....
usually.
But
here
the
staff/owner
is
rather
arrogant.
While
we
were
having
diner
in
the
cosy
patio
outside
he
was
sitting
at
a
table
next
to
ours
and
discussing
loudly
with
a
customer
about
other
restaurants
and
bragging
about
his
Michelin
star.
Humility
is
certainly
not
their
top
skills.
Also
disappointed
at
the
start
with
the
way
they
present
their
"so
called”
Ma
Cuisine’s
concept:
first
we
give
you
the
impressive
wine
list.
Very
long
range,
expensive
but
unique
opportunity
to
try
exceptional
wine
if
you
can
afford
it.
And
the
waiter,
which
is
think
was
also
the
owner,
explained
us
that
we
must
choose
the
wine
first
so
their
can
choose
the
food
accordingly
to
the
wine
we've
picked.
Unusual
but
I
loved
the
idea.
The
problem
is
that
once
we
finally
decided
on
our
wine,
we
got
the
food
menu
handed
over
to
us.......
That's
it..........
Wait
a
minute....
So
how...
Where
is
the
so
called
food
pairing.
While
the
idea
sound
initially
great,
it
ended
up
being
a
simple
commercial
/
marketing
trick.
Not
sure
about
the
value
here
but...
Anyway
we
managed
to
choose
our
meal
alone.
Luckily
the
wine
we
picked,
alone,
was
fantastic:
a
$210
Cornas
2016.
Absolutely
devine.
To
summarise
great
food
you
will
not
be
disappointed
but
with
a
$541
bill
for
2
including
wine,
2
starters,
2
mains,
2
side
and
1
desert
you
might
be
disappointed
by
the
professionalism
and
level
of
service.
I
understand
the
ambition
to
create
a
relaxed,
convivial
but
not
obsequious
ambiance
but
here
you
don't
get
any
of
this....
I
do
recommend
you
to
sit
outside
where
the
vibe
is
better
than
inside.
The
terrace
is
simple
and
lovely.
Inside
the
decors
is
good
and
tick
all
the
boxes
but
something
is
missing....
A
bit
cold
despite
the
effort
and
music
slightly
too
loud.
We
started
inside
and
moved
outside
after
ordering
the
food.
Overall
MaCuisine
has
good
food,
and
leverage
at
their
maximum
their
star….
But
they
are
missing
the
point
on
"bistronomie"
