Restaurant Modern french restaurant

👍 Amazing food, texture and presentation. Everything blends well on the palate and the chefs prepared separate dishes based on my dietary restrictions. However, service could be better. People often mention experience, dishes, service, restaurant, Michelin, dining, Lerouy, good, dish, great,

One of the best Michelin star dining experiences I’ve had. I love the layout of the restaurant, all the diners get to look into the kitchen. The service is impeccable, I always felt so well taken care of. And the food … sometimes you have a Michelin meal and it fizzles on some courses, but not here. I really enjoyed every course. If I had to call out some favourites … the scallop, the langoustine, the quail, and the desserts all hit amazing notes. But really everything was amazing. Highly recommend!

[3.5 Stars] Went for a lunch. -Environment Nice place, elegant and very clean. Seats are comfortable, not noisy, air-con is not too cold. -Menu I felt the overall menu is just alright, it is interesting but not super delicious or whatsoever. The portion is typical French style, the ingredient of scallop and duck able to taste the freshness. The rest of the menu are okay, not much of catchy points...sauces are in similar taste, creamy salty type....Desserts are ordinary. -Service I felt every time when doing the serving, it was so fast that we could not catch what the staff is explaining about the dishes/ingredient/dressing...If large part of the operating expense goes to Staffing, I do not feel the passion coming from the staff whenever we are being served. I think it is important to explain in a way which make customers could appreciate the food more. -Price Spent about $240+, just for an experience and it was just an okay.

Out of all the experience in Michelin star or Michelin guide places, this one is subpar for us. The things I like: The interior design of the restaurant is the one I give the highest rating. I love the trendy minimalist feel. One more minor detail, the scent in the restaurant is also pleasant and clean. The food did not work out for us. We went for the five-course meal lunch. The ingredients are fresh and presented nicely but they did not work together for a good flavor profile. I cannot taste what they want to tell thru the food. Out of all dishes, I like the bread & cabbage dish the best (I think someone else also made the same comment earlier 😅) Service also did not stand out. I don’t feel the attentiveness from the staff and let me just say I feel a great disturbance in the force. I have a hard time understanding the food that they introduced to us. This is a very different experience in comparison to other places we went to. Maybe you should try their dinner menu or go when they change their lunch menu. I saw some other review saying the food taste awesome and Look different than my set. Good luck!

We came here for an evening of modern French fusion and were not disappointed. The restaurant is an open kitchen concept where the diners all sit at counters that wrap around the central kitchen. It’s all right but feels a little industrial and I would have preferred something a little more comfortable at this price point. They have a decent wine list and there is value to be had. The bread was nice and the variety of butters clever (though I’d replace the butter knives with a less awkward design). It’s not the very best we’ve had (that’s probably Pollen) but it was nice. The starters were all delicious and we particularly enjoyed the oysters with Thai green curry. The salmon was also very nice. I’m not entirely sold on the combination of black truffle with the prawn. The scallops were decent, the fish a little forgettable, but the cabbage was surprisingly good. A big thumbs up there. After that seafood, I would have preferred a proper meat dish, but everything was certainly tasty. Among the desserts, the canelé and the lemon tart were particularly nice.

Tried the vegetarian option for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The quality of ingredients is superb and you don't feel like you're missing out on anything with the vegetarian meal. Definitely worth the price.

Food Amazing dishes. Like the flow. Menu change per quarter if not mistaken. Explanation can be better, such as to suggest where to start or give us some idea what kind of taste we will be tasting? 😂 Drink Good recommendation. Like the service. Communication Can be improve especially dietary requirement not recorded but message sent two times, both during reservation and WhatsApp reply. Vibe Modern and young. Chef is particular with sound ambient, appreciated. Setting High table bar-liked counter seatings, quite cool. Pricing Reasonable. Will be back! 🤗

Our meal at Lerouy was one my favorite dining experiences in Singapore in the past year. Most of the dishes were exquisitely prepared with a variety of flavor and texture combinations paired with classic sauces that provided moments of delight. It’s not everyday that a dish based on cabbage can be the star of a meal… Service was timely and not intrusive, and the open dining layout gave the group both space to enjoy our conversations and watch the chefs prep each dish. Highly recommend an after meal drink - there is a wide selection to choose from. Will absolutely return.

Went for restaurant week and this is my first time to have lunch at Michelin star restaurant. In general, the food is exquisite and have rich tastes. But some of the courses might be too salty or too sweet for me (Would like to rate 4.5 actually) We seated at the bar counter which is around the open kitchen. It’s a new experience for me when having fine dining.

I had dinner here in June 2022. I commend the restaurant’s efforts in the presentation of the food, but the flavors left much to be desired. The ingredients were high quality, yet somehow they didn’t complement each other well enough to satisfy the palate. The overall flavor profile of the food was acidic, most likely attributed to the green sauce that was present in most dishes. I would’ve preferred a more rounded umami taste. With the wine pairing, the bill came out to around 355 SGD ≈ 262 USD/pax. Not ridiculous for a 1-star Michelin restaurant, but the flavor combinations should be improved to live up to this price.

Great spot for value-for-money fine dining - excellent choice ingredients brought together in interesting ways while keeping a connection to the classics. Service is friendly and inviting. I was impressed by the salt baked cabbage, and enjoyed the guineafowl too. Worth checking out!

Lerouy is very good restaurant. Very good and consistent. It all start very well, nice bread with different type of butters. Good savory dishes with memorable sauces. Service was attentive but sommelier lack knowledge of wine list. And just a little disappointed to end the meal with only 1 dessert. Overall for the price it is the most value for money michelin star tasting experience.

Went for Friday lunch. Service could be improved. It felt like they were rushing to serve the dishes. We could barely understand what the staff was saying when explaining the dishes. Food was great. Each dish is carefully curated - balance of different flavours and harmony of different ingredients. Not to mention their presentation. Worth a try and a second visit.

Beautifully executed french cuisine; gorgeously bright and well balanced sauces, very enjoyable. The first four canapés showed chef's deliberate plans to open your palate - first with acid, salt, spices/heat and finally with umami. I felt my food chakras powering up! Relaxed service, and freakishly mellow and calm kitchen. I hate to say it, but as much as i paid for the meal, i thought it was good value !

Nice snacks to start with, the rest of the courses were served at perfect temperature - warmed plates 💫 and we had the private room as it’s 4 of us, would have preferred to sit out there for an enhanced visual feast. Date of visit : 23 Dec, 2021

The ambience is nice and simple yet elegant. The food was presented well and tasted good, especially the scallops with miso and the salt baked cabbage. The quail breast was cooked really well, but the quail leg was under cooked (this was a let down). The desserts were alright. I would have probably given 3.5 to 4 stars, but what made my experience worthwhile was the service, kudos to Mr. Ramiah for that.

My second favorite fine dining restaurant in Singapore. Not only did all the dishes taste good, but the price was actually much cheaper than most of the Michelin star restaurants in the area. The service was also pretty quick. The restaurant is also cool in that a large part of the dining area is actually where the chefs prepare food, so it is pretty cool to watch.

Food - 2/5 Value - 2/5 Ambience - 3/5 Service - 2/5 Overall, food was a tad too salty. Menu wasn't shared until after dinner was about end, only was told the price at the onset. Of all the dishes, I probably only enjoyed the fish and maybe bread. Service - waitress who was describing the dish did it together with other table - with social distancing and a mask on, not something I'd expect.

Le Rouy isn't for the faint of flavor. This Michelin-starred gem pushes the boundaries of contemporary French cuisine with adventurous offerings like lamb tongue and veal sweetbreads. Expect meticulously crafted dishes, where innovative technique meets seasonal ingredients. The open kitchen adds to the intimate experience, while the signature circular counter grants a front-row seat to the culinary artistry. Be prepared for a flavor journey that may surprise and delight, but undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.

Creative 6 course dinner by Chef Lerouy at the new location along M . Sultan Road. Interesting flavours, textures and plating with uncommon ingredients and flavour pairing. Small portions but definitely filling. The bear was satisfied.

I had the pleasure of dining during their opening night in the new location. I arrived earlier than my friend and was slightly intimidated to come in. The door had no sign and the setting is intimate. like entering someone’s home and I felt like there were more chefs than diners. Interiors were minimalistic, the ambiance with the soft lighting was very well done. After settling in, everything was smooth and pleasant, service is commendable. I had no doubts that the food would be impeccable, it was my second time dining at Lerouy. The dessert was unforgettable.

Food: it was nice at the start for the first 2 dish. But throughout the 6 course meal, I felt that the flavours were all overwhelming, powerful and strong. There was no balance between the 6 dish. Service: service was ok. Expected of a fine dining experience Atmosphere: 1 star. Not professional set up. As a open kitchen concept, there was washing the kitchen, the wall, the dishes (loudly) while customers were still eating. It was only 915pm and many other customers were not even on their last few dish.

Amuse bouche are great, but main courses lack of creatively (ie course 3,4,5 are all butter-cream source base with a tiny change) and most of the dishes tast not well balanced. Decoration is better then other Michelin on this street, at least no crowded and noisy feeling and bigger table great lighting.

What a fantastic restaurant, either for a biz lunch or a romantic dinner. After 4 years following chef Lerouy, I can testify this is one of the best fine dining place in town. Its Omakase menu is a must! Whether for its creativity, presentation, quality of ingredients, finesse and above all quality / price ratio. Not only french food, but techniques from all around the world Furthermore, the chef update its menu almost every week unlike many other restaurant Recent Michelin Star is more than deserved!

Lerouy, pronounced “loo-ree” or at least that was what i heard when the staff picked up the phone to take my reservation, serves up modern french cuisine. Most of the dishes lean towards higher acidity in taste while the rest are savoury. I can’t say it is fantastic but probably good enough for only 1 Michelin star. Service was efficient and the kitchen was in full view of every customer. I saw a server accidentally caused a canape to topple slightly on its side and sent back to the plating station. Instead of just pushing it back upright and fixing it slightly, it was discarded and a new one was made. So they are very particular about their standards and presentation. However the staff seems pretty stressed and does not seem to enjoy their job. I did not see a single staff smile throughout my meal, except for the head chef who was entertaining some guests. Maybe a very strict boss. Toilet is clean.

  • 4/5 Choon N. 2 years ago on Google
I gave it 4 stars because of details and great effort. Food was of excellent quality but was a blur of similarly plated ingedients. All in a thick creamy sauce of sorts.(Since not much effort was accorded to the introduction of the dish. Merely naming components is not really counted as an intro.) The cabbage dish was the star of the night. The others unfortunately were already forgotten... The ambience was pleasant enough but the stern, unfriendly- faced service staff was not. There is potential; but overall it was still a nice experience...

I have followed Christophe and his team since their first opening on Stanley Street. I can tell you that you won't regret eating at this modern FrenchAsian fusion restaurant. The menu is always evolving but has its roots in Christophe's Alsace heritage, he is consumate professional always striving for excellence. The dishes are colourful and delicate and the flavours are delicious. Service is impeccable and the new site on Amoy is spacious and Zen. Lerouy will be my first port of call when I return to Singapore. Congratulations on getting back that Michelin star!

Nice ambiance, creative and tasty dishes. So much in the details worth all the attentions every bite, mixing all the bits and different textures to try out combinations. Order Grand dinner and did not disappoint. Only catch is I wish the team could slow down while explaining each dish, it is a little hard to understand especially when the service crew is wearing masks during this challenging time. Overall service is great, though.

I didn't really enjoy the place. note to self, never go for open concept Michelin star restaurant. Place - easy to locate, heart of CBD area and even have a happening bar as neighbor. Restaurant ambience - more for couple setting. Anything more than that is hard to have a chat with your peers as is a counter setting. Open kitchen concept. There are 20 over staff fussing over our food, they look cool in their black outfit. Food presentation - very sophisticated, elegant and detailed. Really IG worthy but you must have good photography skills as the lighting down there is terrible at our counter setting Food taste - salty, sour, overpowering of spices, taste. A pity there is not one food that is worthy of mentioning. The mains are nice but all the special sauces over power the food. There was one main which is the lamb tongue but it tasted like cured meat version. the Let's not talk about dessert as french dessert are always medicore everywhere. They tried their best. I am comparing with Odette. I would prefer Odette kind of French food. The next day all of us have very easy bowel system 😅🤭. Good for one try.

After trying so many Michelin restaurants in Sgp and around the world, I must say Lerouy is really worth it. We went there for lunch and took their biggest lunch set. For the price you pay, they did not compromise on the food. The food was good overall. It was very well executed and I will go back again. There was creativity, texture, aroma, visually pleasing and taste! What more can you ask for for the price you pay here? It is definitely worth it!

We went for Valentine's day lunch. The overall food and experience was great. I really liked how they used Asian spices in surprising ways (for example in the oysters) without being too overwhelming. In petit fours, the canele came in mini version therefore the crust was thicker by nature, but the soft cashew nut cream balanced out the texture very well. The chocolate bonbons were also perfectly made. Photos are some of my favorite dishes.

  • 4/5 Supatcha D. 3 years ago on Google
Very nice, creative, full of flavours. They used rather regular ingredients, nothing extraordinary, though the dishes came out surprisingly excellent! Love the modern casual feel of the ambience. Would prefer the iberico pork to be more well-cooked. Since it’s pork not beef, the half-cooked taste just doesn’t feel right to me.

I like the opened kitchen concept. The place is spacious and offer casual fine dining. The food overall was great, came with lovely presentation and offered various layers of taste. Our favorite was mackerel appetizer, bread with various butters (we love it so much), and salmon tata. The meat main course was not up to fine dining standard since there's some sticky part to it. Average for dessert.

We had a delightful experience at Lerouy with amazing food and wine! Every dish was very well executed and artfully balanced in taste! A burst of flavour in every bite and every dish was equally good. I must say that as regulars here, they are always very consistent too so we have full trust in the team. We usually don’t take game meat but decided to be adventurous today and we were not disappointed at all! It’s Omakase menu only, so do come with an open mind and trust that you’ll be getting the best. As foodies, we’ve tried more than half of the michelin starred restaurants in Singapore and Lerouy is definitely in my top 3 - really one of the best restaurants in Singapore! Compliments and thank you to Chef Lerouy and his fantastic team! 😊

The salt baked cabbage and langoustine dish were a clear highlight. Throughout the evening whoever was firing the crustaceans was really killing it, everything was cooked till perfection. There was creativity and clear technical prowess on the plates and a lovely sommelier named Fred was knowledgeable when he recommended a wine. however, most of the proteins (poultry & fish) were a little heavy handed with the salt. and as much as I was expecting a night of loads of butter (cause French food), I was craving for a break/a palette cleanser/something to cut the richness and undertone of butter lacing every course. Despite having a counter seat. the atmosphere was a little sterile for my liking and maybe without any music prohibited during this current phase of dining out, it became further more uncomfortable for me. But if you’re looking for an evening of instagram worthy quality fine dining at a good value, this spot is for you.

Where do I start? The food was alright, with some dishes lacking creativity. My group and I were seated within the private area, away from the view of the chefs. It was cold and sterile, with low ceiling and random sofas. What really made me give this a bad rating, was the kitchen staff who served us, her name I believe was Vi. I know they needed to work behind a mask, however it really wouldn't hurt to smile to give off a friendlier vibe. It certainly would not hurt too, to let us finish our sentences/questions before walking off. The icing on the cake - was the Chef himself who was unable to rationalise with customers' feedback. I believe in customer experience, and it was surely a bad experience when the Chef had to throw our receipt and credit cards from across the table. Our group of 4, who ordered the Grande Lunch menu and 2 bottles of wine clearly do not deserve bad service and manners like this. I had to say, I'm voting with my dollars. If you do go, I would suggest keeping your feedback of the food and service to yourself as it most definitely would not be appreciated.

Enjoyed the petit lunch ($68++). Excellent sauces, ingredients and flavours. For the appetiser, the bluefin tuna with Kristal caviar had a good balance of flavours and textures. The flavour of the sourdough was good but it was a bit too hard. For the main course, the guinea fowl had a lovely smoked flavour and it went well with the porcini mushroom. For dessert, the poached pear sorbet with brownie was good. The petit fours were great too. Excellent, accommodating, efficient and attentive service.

There’s too many overrated Michelin star restaurants in Singapore. Some might even get too comfortable at where they are and stop improving. Lerouy’s worth every single cent that you paid, worth every single calories you consumed!!!!!! 100% love it, be it the taste, the creative plating, the service and the price!!!! Tip - go for the lunch first if you aren’t sure. But I can guarantee you, gals will love it. There’s a reason we say eyes are grown in front, eyes before food.

Lerouy’s grand reopening at Mohamed Sultan marks a new chapter in exclusivity and culinary excellence. While the bar counter is notably absent, a decision that adds to its unique charm, the establishment’s commitment to exceptional food and impeccable service remains undiminished. Here, you’ll find an upscale dining experience that gracefully balances sophistication with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, ideal for those who appreciate fine cuisine in the company of discerning friends and fellow connoisseurs.
