Clean place, lots of shops and food options. Interesting finds. A lot of fruits sold on the street, all very tasty! Prices are very reasonable for everything! Overall a great experience. I recommend anyone who visits Singapore to come here at least once. I liked this better than Little India. There is also a hawker center close by with lots of Asian cuisine options

A decent enough a Chinatown experience with a ton of kitsch ‘gift shops’. If you are after the sprinkling of good antique shops, traditional local specialists, and good Chinese food, buyer be warned and do your homework ahead of time.

Chinatown is a must visit place especially if you want to have some street foods and buy some things in cheaper price like souvenirs. Key chains, bags and other items are so cheap in this area. You can find a key chains 10 for SGD 10. There are alot of stalls and stores in this area that can you consider a one stop shop. Chocolates and snacks and everything is so affordable here and you will not regret spending every cent. Sadly most stores were about to close when I came here but there are alot of decorations because of the upcoming Chinese New Year that time.

We decided to visit Chinatown around 7-8pm. The temperature was just fine, the dusk/dark made sure all the lights were nicely visible and the area was bustling. A great atmosphere with many shops, stalls and restaurants open with both cheap souvenirs and more quality stuff for sale. A great evening out.

There is always something to buy in the street market of Chinatown. From Ang pao, lucky coins, charms, and calendars. Check the Chinese restaurants beside the street that offers authentic tastes. Prepare a bit of a walk though as this street is a bit of a winding road.

Open market in Chinatown. Colourful dresses, chinese restaurants, assorted souvenirs like chocolates, fridge magnets, bags, baggage tags, umbrellas and hundreds of other options. In the evening, it turns into food street. Easily accessible by Metro. To avoid crowd, reach by 10:00. To experience the crowds, food, energy and chaos, be there in the evenings Sometimes the Chinese and Indian shopkeepers across the street are fighting to get attention of the shippers by clapping or whistling. Loud Tamil and Bollywood songs being played in some shops and you'll forget for a while that you are in Singapore!

🧧🧧🧧It use to have super squeezed crowds. However it still vitals to keep this place alive for future generations and we usually will come here with friends or family to just soak into the atmosphere even though now lesser crowds but overall still must come 🧧🎋👏👍

Chinatown Street Market: A visual feast with vibrant displays, but the merchandise leans towards the "tat" side. The aesthetics are charming, making it a great spot for a stroll, but don't expect to find high-quality items. Perfect if you're into the atmosphere more than serious shopping.

It was very lively during the CNY Bazaar period. Full of festive decorations, snacks, food, and more. It can get really crowded so it's probably better to come on weekdays.

Vibrant historical place to walk, eat and shop for traditional Chinese food and gifts. There are many varieties of cafes, restaurants, tea houses and dessert shops that line the streets. Best time to go is in the evening when the lights and lanterns are lit up. Many adjoining streets to stroll after dinner. So much history and heritage in these shop houses to get to know. A must visit when in Singapore.

Time to shop for CNY goodies and decoration, I missed the night market before covid. It is delighted to see that the street is vibrant again with people buying for cny thingy. At least now the Day market is back to the usual business! It is kinda crowded so do take care and prevent unnecessary interaction.

Chinatown Street Market - Situated at Smith Street, Singapore. 🇸🇬 Adjacent to Chinatown MRT Station and Buddha temple area. The street market with a lot of shops sell need goods, clothing, textiles, souvenirs, flowers, prayer items, herbs, toys etc and some restaurants with Asean, Western and local food/seafood along the street make it a difference side of Singapore... A bit crowded at night with quite beautiful, full of colours and excitement. There's some murals painted on the wall in the surrounding streets. Easy to access by public transportation. Doable to find absolutely many things at the moderate market, plenty to see, do or taste. It's typical, you can feel the mood of China out of China Country. 🤔 🤗

It's perfect for street shopping as suggested. Good for buying decent quality toys and games. Not good for clothes perfumes n stuff. But yeah you do come across real attractive stuff on the roads which is tempting to shop. Good to visit. Keep a day for it to explore the market. Local food.

Must visit for all tourist that come to Singapore. A little commercialised than it used to be but you'd still get to see a lot historical markers put up by local tourism authority. Also lots of Chinese New Year decos go up for the CNY holidays. Lots of CNY goodies and snacks also on sale. Many locals come to this part of ChinaTown too but mostly for the food. Unfortunately many casualties from the Covid-19 Circuit Breaker but still lots to see and experience. Best time to visit is from late afternoon and early evening when the heat is less intense.

Every 15th Day of the 8th month at full moon the Asian countries celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Also Singapore's Chinatown gets a festive decoration and mood. The event has many names and is also called Mooncake, Harvest or Lantern festival and is nowadays rather similar to Thanksgiving. Historically the festival dates back to the Chinese Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BC) where it was a Harvest festival. In years to come some Epic stories brought in a twist and the Moon goddess Chang'e brought the full moon to the center of the festival. The yellowish, round shaped Mooncakes are an important part of the family gathering during this period.

My adventure in Chinatown Singapore was an absolute blast! From the moment I set foot in this lively neighborhood, I couldn't help but be swept away by its vibrant energy and cultural richness. Chinatown is a treasure trove of heritage, and its bustling streets are a sensory delight. The sights, sounds, and smells of this place are a feast for the senses, and I couldn't get enough of it. The services in Chinatown were great, with friendly shop owners and vendors always ready to assist. However, it would be even more fantastic if there were more signs and information in English to help tourists like me navigate the area and learn about its fascinating history. For those planning a visit, I suggest coming in the evening when Chinatown truly comes alive with its dazzling lights and infectious atmosphere. Don't forget to check the weather, dress comfortably, and get ready to indulge in some delicious street food and souvenir shopping. In a nutshell, Chinatown Singapore is a must-see destination that promises an unforgettable, culturally immersive experience. With a bit more English signage and information, it could take the visitor's journey to the next level of enjoyment. So, dive into the vibrant tapestry of Chinatown and savor every moment of this fantastic neighborhood!
