Masjid Malabar, also known as the Malabar Mosque, is a historic mosque located in the Kampong Glam neighborhood of Singapore. It was built in 1950 by the Indian Muslim community from the Malabar Coast in southern India, and it is one of the oldest and most prominent mosques in Singapore. The mosque's architecture is a blend of Indian and Islamic styles, with a distinctive white-and-blue color scheme and intricate decorations. The main prayer hall of the mosque can accommodate up to 1,500 worshippers, and there is a separate prayer hall for women. Masjid Malabar is not only a place of worship for the local Muslim community, but it is also a popular tourist destination. Visitors are welcome to visit the mosque and admire its architecture, but they are expected to dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering the prayer hall. In addition to its religious significance, Masjid Malabar is also a cultural and social hub for the local Muslim community. The mosque hosts various events and activities throughout the year, including religious lectures, Quranic classes, and community gatherings. Overall, Masjid Malabar is an important landmark in the Kampong Glam neighborhood and a testament to Singapore's multicultural heritage

Majlis of Malabaris. Friday's you can hear the qutuba in Malayalam and English. One of the well maintained masjid. It is not for the tourist. Only the true worshipper can come, pray namaaz, read quran, talk to the priest and can lighten the pain in heart.

Strategically located at the junction, the blue mosque has a rather small prayer hall. The steps to the prayer hall is steep. for those staying at the Boss hotel, the masjid is convenient and close by. Without the delay from the pedestrian crossing, the walk would take less than 5 minutes.

Peaceful and quiet despite located beside a major junction. Well maintain, an old (circa 1800's) cemetery right behind this mosque made it all the more interesting.

May I know when the renovation of malabar mosque ended.also may I know is malabar mosque under MUIS funded mosque.i remember my late uncle and friends peoples from Kerala put some money together to build this beautiful golden dome mosque. The gold stones are import ones not paint in gold paint that's why it is still shinning gold after nearly 60 years.I hope the renovations don't exclude or take out the frameworks of the beautiful mosque like the everlasting golden stones and blue stones wall design etc.repairworks, extension, added upgrade some facilities and space but don't take out or throw away the existing front ,side walls and golden dome for the nostalgic memories of the late Kerala peoples hard earnings money to build and put up the malabar mosque for the Muslims society here in SG.Also the malayalam speaking imams and bilals should be in this mosque as some oldies still that can't speak English can speak malayalam to them regarding the religious knowledge etc.l also wonder the mosque is closed for renovations for quite sometimes does the bilals there just say the Azan in the mosque even it is not opened to public yet.I think MUIS should know about the above issue.

When i went to the mosque i found this beautiful picture, blue-colored Malabar Mosque with blue sky background. When i visit Singapore, I love to go to the Mosques. There's Masjid Sultan, Masjid Malabar and Masjid Abdul Ghofur. There's many more actually, because my trip time is short i can only visit those three.

This is the only mosque for the Malabar community in Singapore. It is open all muslims to do their prayers. Its ground or 1st level is where you can perform your wudu or ablution. And the flight of stairs leading to 2nd level is where the main prayer hall is. The mosque is able to accommodate about 1000 congregants. The mosque has a beautiful blue and white tile facade, along with golden domes. The nearest mrt station is Lavender.

(Translated by Google) This blue mosque was founded by the Singapore Indian community. The languages used are Malayalam and English. In the case of events teaching and tradition, similar to the majority in Indonesia, such as the yellow book studies (eg study He Fath Muin na tutholibin syrah), reading Ratib, ghost gifts, birthday alerts and Isra Mi'raj. Located opposite the Boss hotel, not far from the Bugis street souvenir center and Musthofa Store. Close to the Sultan Mosque area.
