This school provides a high standard of international education supported by extensive facilities and a balanced campus life. There are many school events and good arts programs. Many of the students in higher years excel in diverse subjects and have social lives, as well as undertaking many after-school activities. That said, the school's workload is so rigorous in higher years that it frequently puts enormous amounts of pressure on students, causing stress and many emotional and mental problems. It is frequent for students in grades 8-12 to miss many hours of sleep a night. Students can drastically reduce social interaction to accommodate an unrealistic and crippling workload. Even the most high-performing, well-organised students have dozens of sleepless nights behind them. After-school activities are heavily encouraged, but often succeed in wasting valuable time necessary for completing schoolwork. The biggest culprits are by far the annual theatre productions for higher grades, which can stretch from 3:45 to 6:00 for over three days a week. This is often coupled with unrealistic expectations and an overloaded schedule, and so causes a great deal of stress. Sports teams are also highly competitive and exclusive, leaving the rejected students with no place to undertake their chosen sport. The school has also overwhelmingly followed the modern trend of pushing students into universities instead of helping them find what they want to make of their lives, creating a system where blindly toiling for an excellent grade is the ultimate goal. Overall, this school has excellent facilities to serve international students and provides a rigorous modern education. It must, however, begin listening to students' voices and respecting students as individuals rather than as a body of hardworking children.

The facilities at this school are incredible and certainly offer lots of great after school activities. The problem, however, is that unless your child is a cookie cutter robot that fits into their framework they offer nothing to help them along the educational journey. They claim to offer all sorts of additional support should your child need it, but itโ€™s clear very quickly this is not the case and the kids are basically left to drown if they cannot swim in the deep end. There are multiple other reviews here from children that also reflect that. Itโ€™s clear that the fees charged go towards the shiny campus and great facilities, as opposed to actually teaching and supporting your child.

I was enrolled in grade 7 until 2022. Worst school Iโ€™ve been to. Terrible. Too much school+homework, Teachers donโ€™t really care, all they expect is high grades and expect everyone to be perfect. Apart from an overload of work, they make us โ€œbalancedโ€ and constantly urge us to keep up with SA activities and extracurricular sports etc. Apart from terrible academics, food is mediocre and facilities not that great. Campus is quite run down and feels more like a prison than a school. Also too many Chinese students to the point where Chinese is a main language along with English. Do not go to this school, it is just terrible.

I love this school but the canteen food are expensive. The students here a great and are friendly. The teachers are awesome but some substitute teachers are a bit worse. The playing areas are big enough to play tag, basketball, soccer and so on

As an alumnus, I can say that CIS is probably one of the worst high schools in Singapore. The administration cares nothing about the quality of the universities the school's alumni attend; they prefer quantity over quality and think that listing on their website the hundreds of random, unknown, and poor universities attended affirm the high school's quality. It's egregious. Nobody in CIS's history has been accepted to the top American schools such as Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Princeton, Yale, Chicago, Columbia, and so on. So if you want your child to attend a reputable university, turn elsewhere.

Ok so letโ€™s get the obvious out of the way. Great facilities. But thatโ€™s where the positive stops. My son attended the school for two years. Literally everyone in the school is only there whilst waiting for other better international schools. Extremely rigid environment, with 0 tolerance for any missteps. The principle is a man child, literally, who summons parents to school for every simple misdemeanor. Boys are boys. Let the boys be boys. If they misbehave or are bored, pls look within. Your system is uninspiring and your model is outdated. Thereโ€™s no emphasis on physical education and no team building. No sense of community and friendship. Also, the school cafeteria is used as an assembly place for parents after they drop their children. They stay there most of the day congregating and communicating in their own language. No to mention the school fees. This isnโ€™t a cheap school. Iโ€™m actually sending my son to join my daughter in one of the best Swiss boarding schools FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY.

Amazing school for the price, first if all, you get to interact with friends all over the world, I don't get why people say it's bad, IT'S GREAT. The price might be expensive compared to a local school, but in my opinion, it is one of the greatest international schools in the world. The toilets and food need some work but the enviourment and playgrounds are clean. I recommend you go to this school if you are looking for a school.

I was at this school from 2020-2022. The only good thing about this school were the swim coaches, who were kind and helpful. The overall community (including PTA, faculty, and students) lacked kindness and warmth. The head librarians were not helpful and were rude. Not only this, but the campus is incredibly run down, the school feels like a concrete block and it doesnโ€™t feel welcoming or warm, like a school should. The bathrooms are really dirty and had a disgusting stench. Some students did not flush the toilets after using them. We were not allowed to talk inside the cafeteria, and would be scolded for doing so. Many Chinese students would not speak English, which made it difficult for teachers and others to communicate with them. The food was horrible, overpriced, and inedible. We were fed uncooked pasta on somedays. Do not recommend this school.

First of all, some of the teachers don't teach. They give the impression that they have a good demeanor and personality towards all everyone, however that's false. There's lack of diversity despite being an international school so some students may feel left out. When you are put into groups for work, barely anyone in your group does work. This could potentially affect your motivation to do the work. For the languages (in my case chinese) The teachers think that it will take 1 year to move up a phase without covering up every thing...... Seriously. Overall not as good as I thought it would be. (Glad i'm leaving). Just nonono

This school has many 'qualities'. In a way that it had qualities I think (and hope). The teachers do not care what you do and some kids might as well be live streaming during class, most teachers do not teach anything or scold everyone for minor mistakes. I have been losing knowledge from this school the only reason is for the food in the cafeteria which is amazing. in general nice campus good people (but the regular beatings get tiresome). Also why is SA an excuse to publicly shame people.

I donโ€™t get why people are saying this school is bad? The primary teachers were the best but secondary teachers started to get more strict, but thereโ€™s a reason for everything they do or teach. People might be a bit disrespectful but most of the times they are respectful and creative. Why are you all focusing on the negativity when thereโ€™s so much positivity to think about. I know you are just giving us your opinion but coming from a student. This is one of the greatest schools I have ever been too, sometimes it can get hard but majority teachers and people make you feel welcome and happy.

I came across a student who took a wrong turn and walked far from Jurong east towards Bukit Batok, from where i was walking from. I was impressed how a young girl who looked about 10 years was not at all scared and asked for directions towards Lakesidegrande a residential apartment near the Canadian school. And she was walking towards Bukit Batok..She said she is a student of the Canadian International School. Her parents, are English teachers from U.K teaching at the Canadian International School. Her destination was clearly very far..and after checking google maps and showing her that she was about 3 km away..and as the midday sun was blazing hot..I suggested she head to Jurong East station and i walked alongside her as i was heading towards J Cube. From Jurong East station, she can take a train to Lakeside station, from there she can walk to her destination easily. She carried only her wallet and did not have her bus or train card either. So I guided her and walked with her along the main road leading to jurong east station a good 20 mins walk, back towards the direction she came from...but as there were a lot of road construction work going on it was a lot of diversionary walkways to reach the sation. She bought herself a $20 stored value card at the station office as the single trip tickets have been discontinued..(unfortunately, not a good idea by train admin). I pointed to the "F" platform to take, to reach Lakeside and she went on through the station gates as i waved her off wishing her well. My conversation with her as we walked to the station, gave me the impression that she is not only well mannered but also is well informed of world politics. I was impressed with her knowledge, having traveled widely with her parents and having stayed in Europe and Turkey she could understand a few languages and very brave yet guarded as she conversed. I feel the school has inculcated a sense of independence that is not normaly seen in students of her age!!. I must say the praise should not only go to her parents, who are English teachers at the Canadian school, but the school curriculum as well.!!. Best Wishes

I recently had the pleasure of touring this school and I have to say, I was blown away by the level of professionalism and commitment to education that I witnessed. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this is a school that takes its mission seriously and strives to provide the best possible education for its students. First off, the location of the school is incredibly convenient, with easy access from major highways and public transportation. This makes it a breeze for parents and students alike to get to and from the school each day. But what really impressed me was the level of care and attention that the staff and teachers put into creating a positive and engaging learning environment. The classrooms were bright, clean, and well-equipped with the latest technology and teaching resources. And the teachers themselves were knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated to helping their students succeed. But it's not just the academics that set this school apart - it's also the sense of community and inclusivity that permeates throughout the campus. From the diverse student body to the various extracurricular activities and events, it's clear that this is a school that values and celebrates differences. Overall, I couldn't recommend this international school highly enough. If you're looking for a school that combines convenience, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence, then look no further. This school is truly top-notch and deserving of every single one of its 5 stars. yours truly, doge multiverse sg

Place doesn't even deserve one star. my teacher, the worst, is Vanessa ferra made countless boys and girls sitting in their own blood and pee. She embarrasses you in front of the whole class for no reason and doesnโ€™t tell YOU about what is happening . Vanessa ferra is the worst. We haven't even started talking about the staff they are cruel and abusive and will find any opportunities to get you in trouble. Worst place ever zero stars

First and foremost, the faculty and staff at CIS are exceptional. Their commitment to providing a top-notch education is evident in everything they do. Teachers go above and beyond to nurture each child's unique talents and abilities, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The dedication and passion they bring to the classroom are truly inspiring. The curriculum at CIS is outstanding. It blends the best of Canadian education with a global perspective, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded and internationally recognized education. The emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity is evident in the way my children approach their studies. The extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, and clubs, offer students ample opportunities to explore their interests and develop new skills. CIS's commitment to diversity is commendable. It's not just a school; it's a vibrant, multicultural community. My children have had the privilege of making friends from all over the world, exposing them to different cultures and perspectives. This global outlook is an invaluable aspect of their education and personal growth. The facilities at CIS are state-of-the-art, providing a safe and stimulating environment for learning. The school's technology resources, libraries, and sports facilities are exceptional and contribute to a holistic educational experience. Communication between the school, parents and students is excellent. Regular parent-teacher conferences, newsletters, and online platforms keep us informed about our children's progress and school events. This level of transparency and engagement has made us feel like active partners in our children's education.

My school's great :) The only problem I can think of is a lack of discipline sometimes.. students can be a bit sneaky.. like a teacher walking over to see if everything's running smoothly, and all the jokers stopping whatever they're doing, then going back to arguing or something once the teachers are gone. Only people who get bullied by the harsh kids are people who have annoyed/bullied others from the start! Teachers genuinely seem to care about our wellbeing, we have AWESOME facilities, the food's nice, we have interesting activities to do.. For us middle/high schoolers, we get a week long trip every year to go to somewhere cool! This year we went to a private island in indonesia. We even got a field trip to Universal Studios! Don't know why someone said there was a lot of homework in Grade 7? Compared to public schools, this is nothing, you could likely wipe all the necessary stuff out in an hour or two!

Itโ€™s a pretty nice school, but the food can be expensive and they could take the excursions more exciting but relatively nice teachers and pretty good service. There is also an amazingly high level of education in the school. Probably a 8/10.

Did not like this school I was in CIS in g1 and transferred to UWC Dover the teacher were mean, we were not even allowed to talk in the cafeteria me and my friend would get punished if we talked in the cafeteria and my brother was going to China and sent the teacher an email, but the vice principal said he had to leave the school without confirming but this was a long time ago

To start of your foodโ€ฆ. Iโ€™m sorry but NO. You literally made me vomit. Are you trying to poison me or something you never give us new choices and i swear the meat was leaking blood. And the worst part the chicken nuggets are RAW. You heard me RAW. The teachers are even worse. Thereโ€™s this one person called Mme Lobos and she literally makes fun of every child she meets. She always embarrassed other people. To be honest she scared me. There are also a lot of teachers who tend to be way to strict. Thereโ€™s another lady called Christene Tipping and she uses websites with ads that are 18+. I do not think that this should be allowed. Do not come to this school if you want best for your child.

I left CIS after my Freshman year of highschol after three amazing years. CIS makes sure that you feel like you're a part of the community anyway possible. The students are accepting and friendly and the teachers definetly know what they're doing. I will currently be going into my Junior year of highschool in one of the best public schools in New Jersy and thanks to the curriculum of CIS I've been able to challenge myself and enroll in advanced placement classes. I highly recommend CIS to anyone whos thinking of enrolling their children.

(Translated by Google) The level of teachers at this school is "too much" too bad. Nervous or neglect class. Some people There are surprisingly many people who self-study in class and do other things, but most teachers of ELL I don't teach in the music fountain, There are people who meditate for a long time on the children, and if the kids pay for the expensive tuition and meditate in class, the sickness remains !!! I don't know when there is a dispute between children Let the person with a big voice win.-This problem is very annoying and the will to solve it is weak. There are foreigners in the village, listening directly to other parents. The principal is a British woman, but she is smiling, but it is only a Western social face. Many Asian schoolboys rely on him in school disputes, but they just accept the candy-sized mass and get a solution. Not received. There is a male teacher in New Zealand who is very old Driving many issues every year Emotionally abused Chinese and Asian children who do not speak English. Parents complained several times, but no warnings were corrected from the school. If you are reading this, those who want school information 20% of the teachers in this school are wonderful. But it should be lucky. If you do nโ€™t know After 1 year and 2 years, I transfer to another place. Choose your school carefully.
