Thunder Tree @ Vivocity Food Republic

Hawker stall

👍👍 Super delicious. Do try both the lei cha rice and noodles. It’s very worth it to add a portion of vegetables and have a yummy snack of the 3 wantons. The stall at Vivo will be closing in the end of June with the eventual closure of their organic farm in July, support the stall! It’s really the best... The best thunder tea rice in Singapore, hands down. But their other dishes are also fantastic - from the kolomee and Hakka Yong tau foo to the radish cake and curry tempeh. The flavors are so wholesome and tasty because their vegetables are grown on their own farm at Lim Chu Kang.

Super delicious. Do try both the lei cha rice and noodles. It’s very worth it to add a portion of vegetables and have a yummy snack of the 3 wantons. The stall at Vivo will be closing in the end of June with the eventual closure of their organic farm in July, support the stall! It’s really the best thunder tea rice in Singapore and will be a sad loss of Hakka (if I’m right!) cuisine in Singapore.

Unassuming deliciousness packed into a bowl right here in the humble basement food court of Raffles Hospital. This is probably the most accessible farm to table dining experience you'll get here in Singapore. In many ways, the dishes here are so green. Organic (as much as possible I think), locally grown, vegetarian and so so yummy. I had the Thunder Kolo Noodles and my wife had pure Thunder - or Thunder Rice without rice. The dishes were very flavourful and well balanced and generously portioned. The noodles were so much win for me because they were QQ (springy? Chinese al dente? Help me here). Please eat here and support these guys! You don't have to be vegetarian to enjoy a hearty green meal. Pro tip: don't buy a drink before eating here because the soup is great and probably enough liquid for your meal.

Yummy kolomee with Thunder Tea ingredients. Lei Cha Kolo Mee $7.80. Add on side dish 3 for $4.50, Yam cake tasty, Hakka Toufu with angelica sauce that's why super yummy(must try as in front of the queue almost 80% add on this toufu and beansprouts yummy as the lady boss told me this is grown by their own so must try. Service wise, the lady boss is friendly. Highly recommended for local and tourists for vegetarian choice as this is next to Sentosa Express

One of the best hidden gems in Singapore. Every dish is incredible. Lei cha rice and lei cha kolomie are the best I've had hands down. They also have great sides (I highly recommend the braised tofu and the tempeh) and daily specials. The owners are so nice and very passionate about the quality of their dishes. They also own their own organic farm in the west so most of their dishes use organic produce! Each week I'll often buy a few organic vegetables to cook at home (they bring in fresh produce to sell each week from their farm).

The one and only my favorite food stall at Heritage food raffles hospital. I’ve been here for couple of times, the staffs are friendly and helpful. Quite pricey but the taste is superb and the ingredient is organic and they only use brown rice. This is totally a vegetarian Thunder tree rice.

A nice place to have your healthy meals. Kolo mee is a must order item!!! Yam paste mochi available on certain days. Don't forget the yam cake, carrot cake, herbs beancurd and fried vege fritters! Get those colourful frozen dumplings too!!!

Love their leicha and braised tofu rice. Delicious and lovingly prepared. Even though they don’t use any MSG or preservatives, their food is a flavour bomb!!! Aromatic and full of strong flavours without being overly salty. They are the only leicha stall that I feel have each “vegetable” individually seasoned. So you get a party of flavours when you eat it! Their braised tofu and mushroom rice is delicious. You won’t miss the meat. Very succulent and juicy mushrooms and very aromatic. They also provide an umptuous soup with it, not some MSG laden soup that you get, but something full of umami and strong mushroom flavour. Have eaten at their stall for almost 4 years now. From Chinatown to Bugis and then their new shop at Vivocity. Service and hygiene levels has been top-notch and the owners clearly pride themselves over providing quality and healthy wholesome organic food at an affordable price. Highly recommend!

Super super friendly owner!!!! Wanted to try the thunder tea rice but decided to try the lion mane mushroom porridge since it's the special that day. It was really comforting, flavours are we balanced, and the congee was definitely cooked for a long time. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly!! Sesame oil was a good touch. The fried dough fritters though - it was a little soggy. I'd probably do away with that next time. The fried veg fritters was delightful, a little oily but veg was crunchy! It was a very lovely and comforting lunch, and affordable as well. Will be back to try the thunder tea rice!!

Update on 18 Sep 21 Happy 5th birthday Thunder Tree! We are glad and relieved that you are around for us and continue to innovate with new dishes! But the Kolo Mee Thunder Tea is my all time unchallenged fave. Crunchy fresh vege tossed with springy moist noodles, tinged with the spicy home made chili. How to fight? The Hakka Tofu is always reliable too. We took away our Saturday dinner (brought our own containers) and more for Monday lunch. Didn’t want to waste the trip! Best thunder tea ever!! Our fave- thunder tea kolo Mee plus Hakka Yong taufu. Today we also had fried tempeh and vegetable fritter. yummy!! And we didn’t waste the chance to tapao for our dinner at home❤️ Saturday lunch is best - have the entire food court to yourself! Totally unlike the snakey queues at the Chinatown branch on weekdays.

Organic brown rice 擂茶饭🍃🍚。 Its slightly more expensive than other places. $7.80 per bowl as its organic but worthwhile. Added on their side dishes hakka yong tau fu, carrot & 罗汉斋. All all awesome especially 罗汉斋。

Today Special Dumpling noodle - tasty and delicious. Remember to request that extra spicy chilli paste to be added by the vendor. (It is specially made thus not place outside the stall)

One of the best lei cha rice I've ever tasted! Too bad the whole food court is closing down soon... Come grab your last bowls while the stall is still there!

Lei cha was very delicious with lots of fresh vegetables topping and the tea mix was fragrant, savoury and deeply satisfying. Everything is vegetarian! Had the side dishes of bitter gourd, eggplant and tofu - everything was nicely seasoned, not too salty or oily and tasted like home cooked goodness! Would totally eat here again.

I am such a fan. Pure fresh thoughtful deliciousness. Eat and feel great. Love the lei cha fan so much I have yet to try daily specials except their 1st and 15th day of the lunar month special, black vinegar mushroom, which is delightful!

Didn't expect much except for the convenience since it's in a food court at the hospital but it turned out to be amazing! The owner was very friendly and informative, the portion was quite generous, it's healthy, and of course, the thunder tea rice itself was delicious and flavorful. I'll definitely return after my next visit to the hospital.

Super friendly owner! Could speak very good English and explained the different meals. The food is organic grown in a garden in Singapore by the owner herself.

The best vegetarian lei cha and bento I’ve ever had! Their homemade chilli packs a punch and very irresistible! Their curry is also made from scratch and is one of the most delicious one I’ve had

Tasty and very decent proportions! The green tea soup is excellent. Side orders a bit mixed... Their vegetable fritter was delicious but the carrot cake was cold and tasteless. Highly recommended overall.

(Translated by Google) Fresh and straight vegetables must be given a 5-star praise. The food portion is very sincere. The boss seriously recommends it. After eating this meal, it is refreshing and you can buy their own vegetables. (Original) 新鮮直送的蔬菜肯定要給5星好評,食物分量很有誠意,老闆認真推薦,吃完這餐神清氣爽,還可以買他們自家種的蔬菜

The stall owners are Very friendly and they are very generous with their serving. The vegetables used in their lei cha are grown locally and is organic. The lei cha taste light yet flavorful and chilli is spicy and delicious. I love the hakka tofu as an add on to my lei cha. Highly recommended this stall to both vegetarians and carnivores.

One of the best vegan food stores in town. They use all organic ingredients to make their home made dishes.

  • 5/5 Christina W. 3 years ago on Google
Vegan food stall selling amazing leicha. Located in the B1 food heritage area through an escalator outside of the hospital. Food is organic, and tea broth was very fragrant despite it's only vegetables. Also sell other sides like taro cake (pictured), carrot cake, etc. Their chilli sauce is very good too and super spicy. Price is a bit expensive at $7.8 for leicha, but considering the food quality and organic ingredients I think it's worth it.
