Barauni Junction railway station (station code BJU), is a railway station in the Sonpur division of East Central Railway. Barauni Junction is located in Barauni city in Begusarai district in the Indian state of Bihar. Barauni Junction has 9 platforms. The platforms are interconnected with foot overbridges (FOB). It has two foot overbridges. Another foot overbridge will be built at this station. Platform no.1 will again rebuilt here soon. The major facilities available are waiting rooms, computerized reservation facility and vehicle parking.[4] The vehicles are allowed to enter the station premises. The station also has STD/ISD/PCO telephone booth, toilets, tea stall, fruit stall, dairy stall, meal stall and book stall. In February 2012, The Indian Railways had planned to set up a Railway Station Development Corporation (RSDC) that will work on improving the major railway stations including Muzaffarpur Junction by building and developing Restaurants, shopping areas and food plaza for commercial business and improving passenger amenities.

It is 2.5 km away from the old barauni junction. But Guwahati to Patna trains stop here and do not go to the main barauni junction. Nice and maintained railway station. Autorickshaw is available between both these stations. Better connection with other cities via train.

New Barauni junction is well placed junction for travelers because near the junction there is bus stand so you have not to worry for public transport from here you will get busses, auto, rickshaw and many shops are there so just chill! 😁

New Barauni Junction, Overall is a good place but too much development work yet to be done. And Most important is lighting arrangements, it should be done more as per requirement and also the interior and amenities should be placed according to state-of-the-art planning.

New railway station Under construction... ( March 2021) If you want Board from here to your destination , options is good but please if you are traveling alone and it's train timing is in between sunset to sunrise, then don't stay there. Because after sunset it's completely empty there plus as of security concern better not to stay there. Else is your choice. Better to take train from Begusarai junction. New Barauni Junction is by pass of Old Baruni Junction. Station code NBJU

Its a quite good station and hassle free too.

Station is under construction very dusty. No IRCTC verified food counters. Not come Under UTS hence no local tickets online.. Pretty dissapointing for a place like Barauni.

New Barauni Junction is the worst railway station in Bihar State. For instance, no any amenities on the plate form i.e. indicator is not working, no any vendor for water and snacks, inquiry window don't replying any types of queries. All passengers are suffering tremendous problems
