While on a shopping trip to Mani Majra market accidentally stumbled upon this old fort right in the middle of the bustling bazaar. The fort is magnificent in spite of it’s crumbling structures. I was told that some hit Hollywood movie was shot here. Wonder why the UT administration doesn’t promote it as a heritage and a tourist spot.

Its just like a old wall. Only boundary of the fort is still standing tall. But, other portions of the port have fallen. One family is still residing inside fort for care taking purpose. Its is located in Manimajra Chandigarh. If you want to visit it, choose early morning time as this place have small and narrow streets and traffic is too much. Dont bring your car here.

Although we were not able to enter the premises but the place is worth a visit from the outer part of the building only you can feel the greatness and aura of the royalty the construction and size of the fort is neither too small not too large but it's an great piece of architecture. I wish that the legal stay over the fort will be waived off soon and this fort will be open for public.

It seems to be a place connected to some deep history and an extraordinary past. The fort is in a ruined state and not cared of now but its having a story that is untold and the locals might help you in this. The fort is a big one and with open spaces. Outside its gate is the heavily packed streets of Manimajra that are narrow and rushed. In this menace the fort keeps on to be unnoticed and forgotten. Thank you

I am living around this place since last 27 years. No efforts are been made to protect this fort if at all this place is of any historical value. The local authorities must take some steps to protect and beautify this place to make it a tourist attraction. Else's it will turn out as nothing but a waste amid the busy residential land worth crores of rupees.

This place is pretty weird with strange. A old fort in the middle of the city surrounded by 6-10 feet walls. I asked locals about the fort history they said its a private property but I didn't get clue of that so. Love to know more about that if somebody help me out

Once upon a time, manimajra was ruled by a king. He got this fort constructed as was the norm in those days. The fort should have been a heritage building but it is now slowly turning into ruins. Administration is not taking any interest because it's inhibitors may not be allowing it to be handed over. It is disintegrating. People are throwing garbage in its premises.
