Imagine travelling to Brussels after a truly horrible trip. Missing your plane, paying an extra €60 for your luggage and almost starving to death! The arrival at the hostel and the friendly smile of the receptionist lightened up this gloomy day and seemed like the ultimate form of catharsis after all the suffering. My room was on the fourth floor and moving the 15kg luggage to the room was not an entirely trivial task. The hallways and stairs were narrow, but the overall stay with nine other people in a single 20sqm room was surprisingly not too claustrophobic. After a good shower and eight hours of sleep my mood improved significantly and my cortisol and adrenalin levels decreased substantially. Overall you cannot expect too much of such a hostel. The concept is neither to provide first class service nor to display the latest IKEA catalogue in real life. The concept of this hostel, which is situated conveniently near the central station, is to provide customers with an affordable room. And it excels in this respect. What is my rating of this hostel: mashallah 5 out of 5.

Overpriced for nothing. The location is bad, no breakfast, service is zero, the washroom is disgusting but at least it had a hair dryer. The room was smelly.

This is probably the worst hostel I have stayed at during my vast experience of staying in hostels across whole Europe. Wish there was some option to give zero star. Do not get attracted to being in central location and near to train station. The neighbourhood is super notorious. The hostel staff was very rude, unfriendly and they were not even bothered to guide you at least. The space between bunk beds was so less that person on the lower bed could hardly sit to use Mobile or read book. The most annoying thing was uneasy and noisy bunk beds due to their poor quality steel. The bathroom was smelly, commode and wash basin overflowed and one had to wait for long to use it. It has no lift and carrying some heavy stuff till 4th floor on narrow staircase was very tiring and a challenge in itself. My humble suggestion, think twice or even beyond on booking this awful hostel if you wanna enjoy your stay in Brussels.

Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT SLEEP HERE. I have never been to such an disgusting hotel Room, look at the pictures, its incredibly horrible. There is NOTHING clean, the towel I got was completely stained. The rooms are dirty and the staircase is also extremly small and dirty. You couldn’t really shower because the water didn’t drain. I am very sure that they did not clean at all before we arrived

Overall a standard hostel. It's nice that you can use their fridge, water cooker, microwave and plates/cutlery. The place is a little off, if you don't like to go past sketchy places I wouldn't recommend it! But if you don't care then it is a really great hostel! Loved my stay but I wouldn't have gone out at night.

I work for another hostel, we didn't had anymore rooms nor beds available as we were full, there was a man with a disability that needed a bed for the night just so he could rest before catching his train in the morning. I offered to find him a near hostel where he could rest, I called this one and told me that they had available beds, we told that the poor man that had to walk until their hostel were he was denied to stay, maybe because they thought he was a homeless person when he was only a person with a clear disability that just wanted to rest for a bit. Shame on you and your staff, this was inhumane and just cruel!

I will happily give 5 stars for Urban Centre City Hostel. My stay was great. Private room for two with two beds could also be one bed it pushed together. Clean room and clean bathroom with private shower (besides the gap in the window to the first escape 😉) we are two guys, jokes on anyone who looks in. Room also had steps down instantly after opening door, first time I almost fell right into the room. Hostel lobby staff are friendly and speak English. Lobby has snacks to purchase and microwave with coffee/tea and seats to do work and sit in while planning the day or waiting for rides. WIFI for guests, works in room and lobby and has plenty of speed. Great central location. Plenty of shopping in walking distance. Late night food options are nice and bars. Would recommend hostel.

Modern and clean hostel in a perfect location (very close to both the historical centre and the train station). Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and contain all necessary facilities, although our group found that the lockers under the beds were not particularly secure (therefore if you are staying in a room with strangers you may wish to take this into account.) You would probably be hard-pressed to find a better hostel in Brussels.

One of the worst hostels I’ve stayed in ! The place is so gloomy Rooms smell disgusting The colors of the rooms are like the colors of the prison wards (a cool gray that makes you feel sad) The stairs are very narrow, especially if you are carrying luggage It seems clear the lack of maintenance and attention to the place Despite all this, the reception wasn't that bad,.. And the only star is for them, not for the hostel !

This was the worst experience I’ve had in my entire life! The rooms are dirty af, the outlets are falling out of the wall, no soap, no towels and the service is unreasonable. The whole hostel is smelling like mold. Because of an allergic to mold I couldn’t breathe clearly inside is building. Everything is dusty and shady. I would’ve never considered booking this place, but it was a travel with my university. The circumstances were so terrible that I had to move out the same day! I would give 0 stars if possible!

Horrible experience of all time! I have stayed in this hostel for 3 days. I lost huge amount of cash, my debit card and gold earrings.. Someone broke the room locker when I was out of the hostel. I complained to the staffs, police came but no help at all. CCTV was not functioning and people there seems unbothered and don’t care at all. Inside job? Who knows. Wont stay in any hostel anymore better spend to a proper hotel than lost it for the thieves. Learned my lesson.

Dirty, tight and dark rooms. It’s a low cost hostel that can attract a weird public such as homeless. The Flor is sticky and the bathroom is messy. The staff members are really useful and enthusiastic to help, but not approachable

If you’re a femme looking solo traveller avoid those hostel. Not worth the price, it should be less than 10€ based on the state of this place. They have fake reviews on Hostelworld for sure to keep their rating up. My mistake for not checking google first. Not good security at all. It smells so bad when you enter the actual hostel like mold/mildew. There’s a carpet that resembles a floor because it’s THAT old! The rooms are really disgusting. The lights everywhere are very dim. They allow all kinds of people to stay in the mixed rooms. A better alternative would be the Meininger hotel. But overall I will never recommend this place to anyone. I recommend staying in the very centre of Brussels rather than around. The city is generally unsafe.

Reception is open 24/7, so it was very useful to me because I needed to leave at 4 am. It was clean, and overall experience was good, however the only downside is mixed rooms. I know it's common but M/F rooms only are always better if possible. I didn't have a lock so I had to borrow from the reception for a fairly low price. Very nice bathroom! Also the location is great, it is short walking distance to the flibco airport shuttle. Also very close and foolproof distance to all the good shops and restaurants, just keep walking straight.

Toilet could be a bit cleaner and the stairs are a bit narrow and long so it might be a problem if you have heavy luggage. Other than that the room was clean and the place is within walking distance of the city center and all the major transport facilities.

Two of us shared a private twin room - Couldn't check in until 1500 (normal) but no where to leave luggage but in the open? Had to be very trusting of others - Small bedroom, was a tight fit for our luggage and to move around - Small table and chairs inside which a nice touch but useless and just took up space - Some of the plugs were broken/hanging out of the wall - No lifts - Small, narrow and steep staircases - Towels provided were very small - Bathroom was very big - Shower was a good temperature and pressure - Pillows were huge and fluffy - Radiators worked great and kept everything warm - Door to fire exit which was nice for some fresh air - doesn't lock but cannot be opened from the outside - Our experience was fairly quiet - Quick walk to the main parts of the city Didn't use the common space or "kitchen" so can't comment on that. Staff were friendly and helpful

My experience here wasn't great. The steep stairs with several bends are difficult with luggage. Reception in another area to rooms. Rooms were basic though shower area was good. Good distance to train station.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSTEL! We only stayed one night and it turned out that there were bedbugs in my room! I couldn't sleep all night because the bugs were biting me. My skin itched like hell. Later I checked my skin and found 30 bites... The worst part is that we have brought bedbugs into our apartment and now we have to order a fumigation service, which is expensive. Also, the hostel is in an immigrant area, which doesn't look very safe. I wouldn't recommend it for women travelling alone.

The hostel was the cheapest option in Brussels when I was booking, yet still the value mismatches. Rooms are arranged fine, yet not very clean, especially the bathroom (water gets everywhere). It smells a bit like wet socks indoors. I didn't find a kitchen here. The reception is very kind and helpful, good command of languages. The area itself is quite sketchy, especially for women as the street is under construction and there are men catcalling from surrounding pubs. Grand Place is close, as well as public transport like tram or metro. I wouldn't recommend if you plan to stay for more than 1 or 2 nights due to the area and lack of common facilities and social spaces. I stayed for one night only just to be closer to the airport the next day. So if you're planning to do the same, you'll be okay. If you're a solo woman, try looking for something else for your own peace of mind walking around.

Avoid by all costs!!! The price is ridiculous for this!!! The area is very dangerous for women, the hostel smells bad! Our private room smelled like cigarettes, all power outlets are broken, BED FULL OF BED BUGS, floor full of silverfish that will definitely find a place in your bags. Yellow and bloody bed sheets, thin walls, broken toilet, dirty mirrors, walls, floors. We saw the room maid placed the new clean towels and bed sheets on the dirty floor in the hall before cleaning and changing it to other rooms!! We got cheated by another platform reviews, but now we see how other people are disappointed! Unless you want to bring bed bugs to your home and be harassed in this hostel or out in the streets, thats your place!

Personally, had a really bad experience with two of the staffs (not everyone) regarding the early check-in, although mistake was from their side. Travelled all the way from Germany to this hostel just to know that I will have to wait for another 14 hours (from midnight till next day 15:00) to get a bed. 10 days before travelling (while booking) I called them up to ask if an early check-in possible or should I book the bed for one more day. They said 24 hour check-in is possible and I come at anytime for the bed and there is no need to book for one more day. Two days before journey, my request for early check-in was accepted by the property. But when I reached there at 01:00, the guy on duty was just bashing out "impossible.... impossible...you cannot do check-in." I showed him all the proof of calls and the acceptance of my request for an early check-in and still he didn't do anything. The staffs on duty that time was least bothered for the sufferings I had and also for the mistake they did. Also I must say,I stayed there for two nights, I had a pleasant experience from the staff on duty in the mornings and the staff in the afternoon on my last day at the hostel.

Hi Girls ⚠️⛔️ Please before you book this place, read the reviews. I was at this hostal 3 nights and I had the worst experience ever at this place. The hostel is close to the center 14 minutes walk ( but the area itself is not safe especially for a girl walking alone at night, there are alot of bars around which is running by Arabic people) the area is dangerous I didn’t feel safe walking around there, guys tried to flirt with me , they even followed me… I was so sacred, I would not recommend to stay here if you’re a girl traveling alone. This hostel was the worst of all the ones I've been to 🥹 Normally, I don’t stay in hostels, I prefer Airbnb but this time I wanted something different and it didn't work out. THE HOSTAL SMELL TRALLY NAD , it’s dirty , BEDS ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND THE bed sheets LOOK DIRTY AS WELL AND THEY ALLOW TO SATAY ANY KIND OF PEOPLE. ( there was an old Arabic man staying there, he was problematic, the two young guys who were there, they left at the middle of the night because of this MAN) I had to stay alone with him and another man there , it was the worst experience ever.

Great hostel! nice clean room and bathroom, adequate space and friendly staff. could leave bags before and after check in/out. location is slightly sketchy at night but like a 30 second walk towards the city centre and it's safe-ish again. close to amenities and public transport (tram).

Had a very bad experience at this hostel. We found out that the bed contained bed bugs! Hygiene was lacking. The rest of the facilities are alright for what you pay for. But, uncomfortable sleeping experience outweighs the positives.

It is a good bed and a clean room. Being on the 4th floor sucks but it is a great room for the price. They also have some drinks and waffles downstairs which is nice. Edit: knocked 1 star off because the beds in the dorms aren't labeled and every night someone had to ask for clean sheets because there was not a clean bed. Labels would fix that almost instantly. Name of guest and days staying. Slide the card on the bed or just put a peice of paper on the bunk saying when it will be free and needed to clean.

my girlfriend asked to stay in the lobby for two hours as the main train station was closed. man on reception said that was not possible and she would have to book a room at 2 am. As a 5 foot woman ud think a travel hostel would just let someone stay in the lobby for a reduced fee which she offered but no. Never heard of this practice by a hostel seems pretty inhospitable in my opinion.

DO NOT SLEEP HERE We stay in 3 beds and all of us were bitten by bed bugs. We even found bed bugs in our clothes and our luggages

the location was good. the rooms were okay but it would have been better with some curtains in front of the bed and a cleaner bathroom. everything else was also just okay.

worst experience ever. bad staff. no respect at all. not soooo accomodating. they can place someone to sleep on ur paid-bed gosh.. we were sooo stressed in this hotel. we travel a lot, and this is d only hotel with that kind of rule🤷‍♂️.

Lovely rooms, very clean and tidy. Large area there was 6 beds in my room lots of space for everyone. Had space for each individual to lock their baggage away which gave me an added feel of security. Staff where great. There was no curtains so you couldn’t have much privacy, and the hostel is in a sketchy area of town I am a solo you be female traveller and I was a bit nervous walking around town even in daylight. I think if your just careful and don’t walk around at night time you will be fine.

Location was alright but had to walk up this very tall stair-way to get to the room. Can be very tiring. Having said that, the rooms are nicely furnished. Far better than most of the places I've been and the paid-for breakfast was worth it. A very laid back atmosphere. Loved it! Would love to go back again.

It was good! The service is very good, friendly staff. Clean! There's a little pantry with a few tables you can hangout with your members or family. The bunk bed is quite low for big ppl and the sink is not properly work. But overall the room is clean.

  • 4/5 Antonio g. 4 years ago on Google
Only bad thing is that at least in room 213 de bathroom/shower is just divided by a glass with no door or step, so all the water from the shower would spread in the whole bathroom, you had to put your shoes on to enter to even just take a leak or brush your teeth becase it was all wet and dirty. Staff did clean it once daily but if you were to enter after a couple of showers it would be a mess.

Pretty standard hostel. Decent beds and bathrooms, and the staff are really nice. The main floor and the staircase have a bit of a sewage smell (although I didn't ever experience this in the room itself).

I was in a 6 bed dorm and room was clean as well as the bedding although I have seen cleaner. Reception stuff constantly changed but were friendly. The WiFi was poor so having your own data maybe preferable. The space between the bunk beds was nonexistent and I am average built. Location is quite convenient within walking distance of Midi/Zuid station where all coaches and EuroStar stop. Would deffo stay again for the prices!

I was hosted here with my sister. We were surprised for the hygiene and cleaning of this place, besides it seemed all new. The service was really nice, they helped us in everything they could. Although the place is small, I really recommend it, at the end, you won't stay in the room further than sleeping and getting ready for the day. Nice experience.

  • 3/5 Atul S. 3 years ago on Google
Room had a fluctuating Wifi reception. Informed the reception and they said they cannot do anything about it. Have to climb a tall narrow spiral staircase to get to you rooms every time.

  • 4/5 Lina Jerina L. 6 years ago on Google
Very decent hostel, the cheapest one we had in Belgium and the best one. Rooms are modern, people were nice, the lobby is good and also no problems with the wifi. Only two little things i would change: the smell in the hall was always very unpleasant and the shelf in our room was dirty with water leaking from the window! Overall i would recommend!

  • 3/5 josie g. 1 year ago on Google
very good location and super convenient to access the city centre in a 10 minute walk. bedrooms were fine, clean and good bathroom! however there was no AC and no real kitchen or much of a communal space, if this is important for you in a hostel, it may be worth spending a little more or travelling further away from the city centre.

I was traveling through Brussels and had to only stay a night. This hostel was close to the Brussels South train station (10 min walk or so) and walking distance to city centre. The check-in door is different from the hostel door. There is no lift and the stairs are quite steep. The room was a loud because of of the bars/resturants outside. It was warm outside so we need to have the window open to get some air. The bathroom and shower were located within the room, which is nice. This hostel met my needs for a one night stay and the location was convienent. If you are looking for a more social experience, I would look elsewhere.

  • 3/5 Rebecca L. 1 year ago on Google
Booked the Hostel because I was traveling through Brussels and had to only stay a night. I liked that the Hostel was right next to the train station (15min walk) and close to the center. Staff was friendly at check in. Other than that the Hostel didn't seem very welcoming. No common room or kitchen. Only talked to a few people in my doorm there isn't really an other way to meet. Be carefull of the stairs (very steep). The room was a little loud because of the traffic (earplugs helped though). Whish they had some mor bathrooms on the floor instead of just the one in the room because we had to take turns in the morning. The room and bathroom were clean. Also liked that I didn't have to pay for storage after check out. The Hostel is okay if you stay for a night but if you want a more Hostel/Friendly expirence I would maybe choose something else.

Got a single room for 4 nights at €80 a night. The room smells bad and lighting is awful. Worst part is the windows open to a brick wall, so no natural light or air flow. It’s relatively clean at least.

  • 1/5 Tanya K. 1 year ago on Google
Very uncomfortable place. Guys smoke inside the room!!!! No elevator. Difficult to close baggage, broken luggage. Towel you can buy separately. All the bed open to everyone , no privet curtains, no privet lamps. Only one central light for the hole mixed room with 6 people! I will not recommend it.

Hostel easy to find, has a separate reception with a chill tables room & TV and the dorms next door. Good clean establishment with good beds & fresh sheets. No kitchen tho.. only downside

😠 What a horrible experience! We arrived just after 4pm, had to carry our suite cases up 2 flights of stairs as no lifts exists. We opened the door, it was STINKING of cigarette smoke, a non smoking rule is clearly stated! The water in the basin was just dripping out and the bedroom had no curtains....
