Location is a little scary. Lots of people hang around outside and it is quite intimidating. Especially after reading others experiences, made me happy to leave. I didn't want to go out in the evening. It is directly outside the station so good location if you want to get a train early. Not great if you want to explore the city as a tourist due to feeling intimidated leaving and entering. They had a security guard on all day inside reception, which had some reassurance. All doors and lifts are secure with room key entry which is also reassuring. Room was clean and as expected. Think I was bitten in bed. Not sure if a gnat through the window or a big in the bed. No sign of bed bugs. Breakfast is normal self serve cooked and continental. Staff helpful and professional.

Location is good, right near station. There are many beggars who approach you for money. Obviously the hotel cannot control this but I wouldn't recommend a lone woman is out after 21:00 around this hotel. The rooms were very clean. Plenty of towels provided. Very ugly interior though. TV ridiculously old and small. Sink was blocked. Soap was nearly empty on arrival. The service was shocking. I paid for late checkout (until 17:00). The cleaning staff knocked on my door at around 12:00, disturbing my sleep, demanding to know what time I am leaving. This woman could only speak French, but the disgust on her face was obvious when I indicated "until 5" with my fingers. On top of this, they deactivated my key card too early which meant I had to queue in reception to get it reactivated. Also, they did construction (drilling) in one of the nearby rooms on the last day, with no notice at all. No apologies at all from the hotel.

Great location for the train station. And that's all it has going for it. Rooms are dated and worn. Area is disgusting around the entrance, rubbish and general waste strewn everywhere. Went to use the guest toilets downstairs and there was feces on the lock. Stayed in 2 separate rooms and both did not have adequate air conditioning. Loud argumentative people always hanging around outside the hotel and can be heard all night. Had breakfast one day, which one was fine however too many touch points for customers to contaminate food.

Rated 2 stars for location: personally I feel unsafe with a group of unknown people hanging around the neighborhood from day till night. And the metro stations are full of homeless people at night. People are following or targeting tourists or sole loners. The room is spacious for us, the bed is firm, the pillows are too flat only 2 also it's chargeable to ask for 2 more. The ironing board can pick up n return from the counter. Kettle is provided, 1 coffee pack n 1 tea pack with 1 bottle of water for 2 people. No safety box. Luggage keeping at the hotel is chargeable too. Our room has no breakfast so no comment on that.

Certainly. --- Hotel Brussels Centre Midi - Average 3-star Review ⭐⭐⭐ Location: The hotel's proximity to Brussels Centre Midi station is undoubtedly its biggest selling point, making it extremely convenient for travelers. Safety Concerns: During our stay, we observed a group outside the station that seemed to engage in activities raising safety concerns. This might be a point of caution for solo travelers or families. Service: Manager Iberham deserves special mention for his exceptional service. He was understanding, attentive to our concerns, and took proactive measures to reassure us about the hotel's safety. Overall: While the hotel offers convenience and commendable service, potential guests should be aware of external safety factors, especially around the station area.

The room was beautiful, with modern aesthetics and decoration. We had a super double bed with a very comfortable mattress. We stayed for 2 nights and despite the short stay, the cleaning lady also passed by the room. We had not booked a package with breakfast, however there is the possibility of providing them. Also very convenient is the fact that after the release of the room, there is a place to store luggage for a very small fee. On the plus side, there is a large train and metro station across the street, which makes getting around even easier. If you like walking, in 15 minutes walking you are in the city center. The neighborhood is a little strange, a fact that makes sense since it is located opposite a train station, however with the necessary attention you will not face any problems!!!

I recently stayed at the Ibis Hotel Gare du Midi, and unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience. While the staff was kind, the room itself had several issues that detracted from my stay. The room was dark, and the small TV didn't have any smart capabilities. Additionally, the windows were poorly isolated, leaving the room feeling cold. The room design felt old, and the bathroom was small with a very small shower. The toilet paper holder was also broken, and the warming element didn't work correctly, even on the highest setting. While the room was spacious, there were other areas where the hotel fell short. There was no mini bar, and the breakfast was very basic, especially for someone with milk allergies like myself. Furthermore, the ventilation system was noisy and disturbing while sleeping, with no way to turn it off. Overall, I can't say I was impressed with the Ibis Hotel Gare du Midi. The price didn't seem justified for the experience, and it's difficult to consider it a 3-star hotel. While different people may have different experiences, based on my stay, I would recommend considering other options.

The hotel is nice and the breakfast is very good. Initially, we didn't bought the breakfast, but we decided buy it and was a very good choice. The reception team was polite and help us storing the luggage when the storage locker (available in the hotel) was full. The room was clean and according with Ibis' standards.

A basic business hotel close to train station and restaurants. The place is clean and comfortable and staff is friendly. The rooms are good size and that is a big plus. However no electric kettle and absence of minibar makes it inconvenient sometimes. Breakfast spread is typical European standard one. A good choice if you are a tourist or on business trip and do not plan to spend much time in hotel itself.

By far one of the best hotels visited. The service was excellent. Rooms were clean and cleaned regularly. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location was spot on - allowing us to make best use of the train station for longer and short journeys Yes ,it can be a little noisy however, not sure why it wouldn't be - being in the city centre!!

All the reviews regarding the shady and unsafe surrounding of the hotel is absolutely true! People are gathering right outside of the hotel doors and along the pavement. Not sure if the hotel cannot do anything about it, as I’ve read in their manager’s replies here, but a security post can easily replace the bystanders outside. Worse part, sex workers and other undesirable outsiders, who happens to get a hold of keycard will pretend that they are hotel guests and go with you inside the elevator. You can just imagine the paranoia it can cause you that anyone can come inside plus they do not have physical lock. Yes location is unmatchable but definitely consider your safety and priorities when thinking to book here. It’s also worth sharing that their rooms are bare minimum , perhaps due to their price offering.

I was travelling with a group unfortunately the airline changed our flight time so we arrived at hotel earlier than expected the reception staff were most unhelpful insisting that we would be unable to check in until our original time of 4pm despite us arriving at 12 midday. I explained that our flights had been changed and that we had been travelling since early morning (3am) and we were all tired and asked if there was any chance of getting rooms as they became available as their checkout time was 11am and so surely some rooms would be ready ahead of 4pm the gentleman on reception simply said "your check in time is 4pm you will have to wait" After speaking to duty manager we were given rooms as they became available and the whole group was then checked in by 2.30pm. I can appreciate that we arrived early and we were expecting to wait a little but to be told No! 4pm we will not check you in any earlier was, in my opinion unnecessary and was quite distressing to some of our group. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable. Well situated opposite the gare du midi station with access to trains, metro, trams and taxis to get you to wherever you wanted to go in and around Brussels at very reasonable prices. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but lack mini fridge and kettle/tea or coffee facilities. The breakfast was comprehensive with hot and cold buffet that was well presented and tasty, they even opened early on our day if departure as we were leaving before the official opening time. The bar/snack bar was comfortable but did not open until 4pm. All in all a basic, clean, comfortable place to stay conveniently located to explore Brussels. But maybe their reception staff need to work on their customer service skills.

Wow, really enjoyed my stay in Brussels by staying here. Across the road (literally) from Bruxelles Midi station and open late for check in as well. Some colourful characters outside the place but quite safe nonetheless. Iga at the bar counter is an amazing person - loved her company and smiling personality

Next to the train station, close to the city centre, so location is really good. Room was comfortable and clean, little noisy as there were some teenagers somewhere on the floor, but not a big issue. Breakfast was a nice added value.

This wasn't a planned stop. Due to cancelled flight and having to make our way home. We had overnight stop in Brussels. Quick check in and check out and Staff very friendly. Bar service outstanding.

The staff barely speaks English. We booked a room with a voucher from Social Deal and what was written in the voucher didn't correspond to what they wanted to give us. We had to discuss with the receptionist for late checkout (which was included in the voucher) and for breakfast (also included). The rooms were fine and clean but the mattress was rock hard and the pillows too soft. The morning after, I had a stiff neck and back. The breakfast was below average quality with not that many choices. Definitely not worth the price, especially because it's in a bad area near the station of Brussels Midi.

  • 2/5 Mathew M. 11 months ago on Google
Extremely hard beds. Extremely convenient location. AC tied to a room key or other card in a mechanical interlock so the room is sweltering when you arrive. So make sure to check in hours before you actually want to occupy the room. However it is Literally a crosswalk away from the train station for trams, subways, intercity and international high speed trains.

Poor customer service, Junkies and rubbish around the place. Review of Ibis Brussels Centre Gare Midi Reviewed yesterday Irrespective of the many junkies and other people standing and sitting in front of the hotel, persistently offering rides to Paris and the unpleasant odor emanating from the train station located across from the hotel, my recent stay at Ibis Hotel Brussels was marred by an extremely disappointing customer service experience with the African Belgian front desk staff, specifically two girls who were working during the morning shift on the 8th and 9th of July. The staff members in question were utterly unhelpful and demonstrated a complete lack of customer service skills. They were unresponsive to my inquiries and showed no interest in assisting me, may be because I look like Middle Eastern. . Even when I asked a simple question about another Ibis hotel near the airport which I have booking, they failed to listen and instead provided irrelevant information about a nearby bus for the airport. I had to repeatedly ask them to listen to my question and check with the other hotel regarding their shuttle service, but their response was dismissive, claiming that there was no answer from the other hotel after holding the phone for a mere five seconds. To make matters worse, when I approached the same staff member for check-out, she blatantly ignored me, keeping the phone on her ear and leaving me standing for nearly five minutes without a single one word. I had to throw the key on the desk and go. Additionally, the African Belgian security guard, who was supposed to be stationed at his desk, was frequently leaning towards the reception desk and engaging in casual conversation with the receptionists. He repeatedly left his post, causing further inefficiency and neglect of his duties. The management can check the cameras and see what they are doing. The overall lack of professionalism and disregard for customer service exhibited by these individuals was extremely frustrating. It is disheartening to encounter staff members who are not only unhelpful but also fail to perform their job responsibilities adequately. This experience has left me with no intention of ever returning to this hotel. The behavior and attitude displayed by the African Belgian front desk staff during my stay were wholly unacceptable and detracted from any positive aspects the hotel may have had.

Good hotel and very central it’s almost 2 mins or less from the station. The staff is rte very helpful just be careful going out at nights especially if you’re by yourself. I wouldn’t recommend walking down any lonely streets in the middle of the night. Apart from that it’s a good hotel.

  • 4/5 Frederic S. 9 months ago on Google
When I booked this hotel, it was very conveniently located next to the train station, which was perfect. However, there isn’t a whole lot of restaurants or activities located in the vicinity, which will always require you to take the tram or the metro, but thankfully nothing is more than a 10 minutes ride away. As others have stated, the immediate vicinity of the station and hotel have a lot of homeless people, but they haven’t bothered us and I haven’t felt unsafe there (that said I am a white man, so might not reflect all experiences). The hotel also has security guards and you need a hotel key to unlock the elevator. So for location-wise, I would only really book this hotel again if I needed to stop at Brussels-midi again. Now, the hotel itself. The room was clean and bigger than most other double rooms I’ve seen in Europe. The hotel itself was also clean. In terms of service, employees were polite but not overly memorable compared to other ibis hotels I have been to. One employee in the breakfast room was also quite rude, but otherwise all was good. Also, I find it deplorable that we need to pay to store our luggages while a lot of other hotels offer this service for free. Overall, if I had to stop at Brussels-Midi again, I would probably go back to the same hotel, but with slightly lower expectations.

Good that was right across from Gare du Midi, but overall experience was a disaster. Locale seemed unsafe, especially at night. Front desk staff seemed overwhelmed with customers, and a few employees appeared somewhat annoyed with requests. Very big disadvantage is that one is required to pay real money in hard-to-find euro coins to store one's bags in a cramped room in the basement. When I was there, only half the machines worked in the locker room, and one of the front desk staff had to come down to get the broken machine to work. The guests with bags were all milling about trying to take the few remaining lockers to avoid having to schlep our heavy luggage all over Brussels for the day. Am unlikely to return except under court order.

Very satisfied with this hotel. It’s very basic, but you have everything you need for a comfortable night. It’s right in front of the train station and 20mins walk to La Grand Place of Bruxelles.

  • 5/5 Stephanie J. 4 months ago on Google
Located right in front of the train station, next to many places to eat and grocery stores. You can take a bus or tram downtown easily, or a Uber or even walk, as it’s not that far. The rooms was clean, safe and very comfortable. The area itself was not the prettiest but seems safe. Best place to make camp if you’re planning to visit other cities in Belgium.

Nice, basic hotel. Very friendly reception staff. Well located, although at times the surroundings of the station looked a bit dodgy. Many pllaces to eat in the neighborhood

ONLY IF YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST. The air conditioning barely worked and our bathroom had black mold. We even lost hot water on the third night of our stay, and room staff made off with our shampoo. If you can stay anywhere else, do so.

  • 3/5 Evangeline T. 6 months ago on Google
Conveniently located within walking distance, a stone’s throw across the street from one of the exits from the train station. The rooms all come with a queen size and a single bed. The breakfast is on the more expensive side but has a huge variety to choose from. Only stayed for a night so cannot comment much. The only thing is that I have repeatedly emailed the staff to inform them of a late check in but never ever gotten a reply from them. Thankfully all 3 rooms were still kept for us. However, the counter staff were unable to tell from the system that our rooms were all fully paid and needed to check from our print-outs. Hopefully they can equip their staff or their computer system. Their frontline staff are lacking in friendliness and hospitality, they should work on this.

Nice hot, polite people who want to help, clean rooms, very nice outdoor veranda, lovely breakfast but the location is weird. This hotel is located next to Gare Midi station, a really "bad neighborhood". Please be careful when walking. Especially the person who is walking alone.

Rooms and beds are comfortable. Baths are spacious and clean. The location is excellent right next to the Eurostar terminal. Staff are helpful and courteous. The room lacked any self service facilities like tea or coffee kettle or a fridge that would come as standard in any similar hotel in the UK or India. What was disappointing was that drinking water was not provided. Ibis hotels provide the above in room conveniences as standard in most other countries where they function. The stay was comfortable overall and we had a pleasant three days in Brussels.

  • 3/5 Brett G. 7 months ago on Google
Right next to the Brussels Midi station. Very convenient. Pretty safe area during the day. Checkout the LeBistro for dinner. About a ten minute walk I wouldn’t recommend walking around the area at night alone.

  • 4/5 Rogersi C. 7 months ago on Google
We stayed there for just one night, and the room was excellent, clean and comfortable for a good night's rest. The only drawback is its location, as it's near a somewhat unclean and hot area. So, you should be cautious when venturing around. However, overall, the hotel was quite nice.

  • 1/5 Anuj K. 6 months ago on Google
Very poor service. Basic amenities like kettle, iron and mini fridge are not available in room. Even there is no cupboard to keep your luggage. The nearby area is very shady with lots of theft and burglary and no hotel security at night. Will never suggest anyone to stay in this hotel.

Easy find and very close to Midi. Check-in staff was not friendly and welcoming.Got our room and immediately noticed a blood stain ( or similar) on our bedsheet. The staff immediately switched us to another room. Room was spacious and we'll organized as we had a twin bed as well. However, the A/c did not work. I increased the fan to high and lowered temperature and it seemed like there was no air coming out at all..when I brought it to the attention of the front desk fresh, agree was like oh well, nothing we can do as it is a Central system. You can open the windows and I will let the technician know in the morning. It was a miserable 2 nights in the hotel room. The only saving grace was the bar downstairs to grab a drink. The area is pretty shady with people hanging outside the hotel morning, afternoon and night. Pretty scary to go outside as tourists (especially as it gets dark).I would not come back and stay here in the future

I went here in 2019. The stay was good. Friendly staff, the room was clean and the food was good, as well as the bar! The hotel is very close to the train station and a walking distance to the town centre. Would stay here again!

Rooms need cleaning a bit more, a bit itchy. Great location to trains, ibis hotels if you're backpacker like me great breakfasts and kind welcoming people at the reception.

  • 4/5 Winsome Y. 4 years ago on Google
The rooms were alright for the lowest cost price room, which had all the basic amenities you need. The check-in was a very smooth process and we were allowed to checkin early, which meant we didn't need to pay to store our luggage. It would be nice to at least have a kettle. The rooms are the old style and hopefully in the future will be renovated life the other ibis across the world. Location wise it is very convenient to the station to catch the eurostar the next day.

No parking available at the hotel. They will recommend you to park at the railway station parking garage, but go to the Park Inn. It costs 23 euros for 24 hrs.

Fir a budget hotel, this is very comfortable. The staff are all helpful and friendly. The hotel is across the street from gare Midi / zuidstation which is an interchange for most forms of public transportation in Brussels as well as mainline and international train services. The rooms are well laid out, with free Wi-Fi, a TV and Aircon. The bar has a reasonable selection of local beer and a nice selection of food if you're staying near the hotel or are tired after your journey.

Great location for 'on the go' travel in Belgium with excellent access to Gare Midi train and metro stations, letting you use this location as a hub to reach places in the city and countryside. Very convenient access to grab and go stores and eats in the area and at the train station. Comfortable, clean rooms.

Paid about 115 USD for a room. Was not very impressive. The room was spacious but ain't got a freg or a safe in it. There's a water kettle and complementary coffee and tea. Comfy bed. No gym. There's a bar at the entrance. A supermarket right outside to the right. The metro station is right in front of the hotel. And 30 minutes max walk to anywhere in the city. Nice staff. There's an open door smoking room outside. All in all its below IBIS average world wide.

  • 4/5 Tom H. 2 years ago on Google
Good stay and good soundproofing considering outside the hotel It’s always noisy, but I’m very disappointed by the hotel policy about luggages. Most hotels agree to keep your luggage before check-in or after check-in. Here they just redirect you to their coin lockers, so you have to pay 2€ for small luggage (1€ to drop, 1€ to collect) or even more for bigger luggages (up to 4€!). Not very friendly, a bit inhumane. NB: No Covid pass check at the bar on Sunday evening.

Worst stay , would never stay at ibis after this . No clean rooms, cannot provide necessary accessories. Not kettle, no working intercom, walls falling off, bad view of a corporate office.

Very nice rooms. AC is kinda a joke, but the windows open. Great bar and wonderful staff. The neighborhood is a bit rough at night, saw a few fights outside. But very close to the train station so expected. Really good staff. And late checkout (5pm) was €35. Totally would stay again.

We got a deluxe room and it was nice and spacious. The bed was really big, like king size big and fit me, my wife, and our daughter comfortably. I can see how the outside noise might be a nuisance for some, but it didn't bother us. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the grand place which seems like the main plaza. It's also right across from the train station so that's convenient.

The room was very spacious, and the beds were really comfortable. The Breakfast selection was good enough and the pastries and breads were really fresh. Fresh squeezed orange juice machine available. The receptionists were nice and helpful. There's a locker room for storing the luggage in case of a late departure. The location is very convenient as the midi station is adjacent to the hotel and has almost all metro lines passing there.

Superb location. Close to key transport links. Walking to the heart of the station was about 200 metres Breakfasts were excellent with a range of options from boiled and scrambled eggs and sausages to an array of meats , fruits and breads. Don't be put off by some of the people who loiter nearby as they are not interested in you

Best thing about this hotel, it's right next to the station. Clean rooms, decent shower, the decor could do with being a bit brighter as it's very brown. The worst thing is the collection of what I can only presume are homeless people outside on the street. It's quite intimidating walking past them, although they didn't trouble us by begging, up the side street one night there was a fight and a lot of arguing going on, we could see and hear this as it was outside our window.

This is the most unsafe hotel in the world. Never come to this hotel. It’s dangerous!! We lived in ibis hotel many times in other cities, but never like this one. We booked two nights but decided to leave one day earlier. Someone came into our room twice. The staff was absolutely unperturbed. So we decided to leave. I even think the staff allow this happen and don’t take any responsibility.

  • 3/5 Edward W. 2 years ago on Google
Good location for Midi station but it’s a rough area and not much to do within walking distance. Rooms were clean but lacked amenities (not even a kettle for tea/coffee) and the beds were incredibly hard with very soft pillows making for an uncomfortable nights sleep which was not ideal before a 12 hour train ride.

  • 5/5 Sylvia D. 1 year ago on Google

Luggage storage for a few euros. Excellent breakfast. Happily accepted our vouchers from covid cancellation after 2 years.

Very happy to stay here after a nightmare in a Travelodge the night before. The room was spacious, cool, clean and quiet. The bar area was nice. Location wise, it's perfect of you're arriving/departing on the Eurostar or another train from Midi. Not right next to the city centre, but you can be there in a 25 minute walk or a short hop on the metro for which the entrance is literally next door to the hotel. There is luggage storage in the basement if you arrive early or leave after check out. There is a charge, but less than nearby in the station. You will need a 1€ coin to begin the locker rental then coins/notes to pay the remainder when you retrieve your luggage.

Excellent location with central train stations literally next to hotel. Spacious room with all amenities. Staff spoke English as well which made the entire process really easier. Very Reasonably priced

Room was really good. Clean, sharp and no "additional devices" :). Staff at the reception was excellent and the bar also. BUT, the location surely is right at the exit of a Midi station which makes it accessible, but it can get messy sometimes. A lot of people, no feeling of safety at all.

The hotel just opposite of the midi train station, easy to reach. The bathroom sink is blocked, hard to drain water out. No drinking cup provided and need to get it from the receptionist. Doesn’t feel safe in this area during night time.

I stayed here for 3 nights in February 2023 with my mum. The rooms were clean and warm but very standard. I found as a Coeliac my options for breakfast were limited very little on offer. Very disappointed that there was no restaurant for night time dinner. Location was good very close to train station.
