Good hotel, We’ll located. 10/15 min walking distance from the center. Only unpleasant aspect is a huge shipyard which involve all the street in front. Not recommended for business travel with guests. Better to wait the end of reconstruction work! Room are large and except moquette on the floor are very fine! Overall service is good. They have gym and small spa which is pleasant. Breakfast buffet very good! I Suggest to include it

Absolute best. Excellent professional staff, very helpful, allowing us to check out a bit later, since we arrived so late (midnight) after our abysmal experience next door. The area feels rough and dangerous at night, but the hotel itself stands out with its cleanliness, quality and security. The room was deep cleaned, spotless. Spacious modern bathroom, crisp fresh linen on soft pillows and mattresses that felt like brand new. Air conditioning, hair dryer, TV, high speed wi-fi, free tea and coffee in the room. Best breakfast I've seen, comparable to the top Club Med buffets, wide variety of high quality food, fruits and top brand products, there's nothing I can even imagine adding to this. Perfection. If you want to escape the dirt and grime of "budget" hotels in the area, go for this one. Price-wise, it's not that much more expensive and the difference is striking!

I stayed with my family for 3 nights last month. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from Brussels Midi railway station. The access is bit restricted due to the metro construction currently going on the main road. The rooms were spacious and quiet. Breakfast was also decent. Grand place is 10 to 15 minutes walk and there are restaurants nearby. Although the access is bit restricted due to construction work, we found it was a good value for money and lives up to the Mercure brand standards.

How can this hotel has good reviews? Rooms are dirty. Bathroom is falling apart and all the rooms smells like someone was 5 minutes before you in the room smoking. Also the area doesn’t feel very safe to walk around, especially in the evening not advised…

Don't stay here unless you are not really bothered about leaving the hotel itself. The hotel is really nice, good clean rooms and pleasant staff but if you wish to walk to the main centre of Brussels then be very aware, it's about a 15 min walk through some of the roughest parts of a town you will ever encounter. It's dirty, smelly and will put you on edge. You really will need your Witt's about you. The exterior of the hotel is shabby, the interior and rooms are superb. The only thing this hotel has going for it is that it's near the midi train station, but even the short walk from there is "edgy"

I've stayed twice at this hotel. The location, while beset with ongoing construction outside, is close to the Metro so getting around is easy. The hotel itself is lovely and the gym and spa provide excellent recuperation after a hard day's working in Brussels! My only critical comment about the spa would be that it doesn't open early enough, but they open late so you can relax at the end of the day. Very reasonably priced hotel for the facilities available. While there is no beer at any restaurant nearby, the hotel has a well stocked little bar with friendly staff, guests and a nice atmosphere. I will definitely be choosing this hotel the next time I am in Brussels.

I enjoyed my stay and wasn't disturbed by the building work outside the front door. The room was comfortable and the breakfast choice was good. The tiny plates helped me keep the portions small. But if I had wanted more I could have used two. It is conveniently located and will be even better when the new metro line is finished.

The hotel was clean, but location is terrible ( I felt very unsafe walking the streets) and even though the parking was advertised as free and I had the parking ticket validated, I still had to pay for parking. I was asked to return to reception to be reimbursed which is crazy since there is nowhere to park next to the hotel and I don’t even live in the country in the first place. I had to keep messaging on booking to get an answer and nothing was resolved. I had asked to get breakfast reimbursed since it’s the same value as the parking but the answer was that we already ate breakfast. Hilarious. That was not worth 22 euros for person anyway.

Good location, close to the station Midi, however a big construction sight in front of the building. Rooms were comfortable. We only stayed for a short night.

The hotel was very nice. My room was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was so delicious! Where the hotel was located was a little strange, maybe because of all the construction and it was dark.

Good location, great hammam and sauna, very helpful staff. However, the least comfortable beds I have slept on in 20 years of traveling for work or pleasure. Felt like sleeping on a sheet of plywood covered with a blanket. The only negative on our stay, but since the bed is a primary function of a hotel, I just can’t rate it well. Stayed in another Mercure the week before, and an ibis styles the next week, and both were ok.

This review is our observation and opinion. The reception was extremely rude and made us apologise to her for something we didn't do. Unsympathetic towards disabled, or looking at situations where STRICT RULES AND REGULATIONS were not relaxed to support disabled persons. BREAKFAST - The breakfast team is rude, non-responsive , and unsupportive. Very limited Breakfast option, no cooked food like omelette or poached egg. Hardly any fresh fruits would be left. No vegan or vegetarian option except bread n juice . Experienced breakfast staff very arugmentive with guest. Different rules for guests from white counterparts and different rules for us at breakfast. Customer service = " BIG ZERO." If you liked to be humiliated, compromise, and ruin your holiday, then book here. Otherwise, Pullmans is station. We travelled to many countries and came to Brussels and one of the worst stay experiences here at this hotel. We witnessed an Asian man being told off by recentption staff over breakfast, but I saw other white guests were taking packed lunch every day, and no one stopped them or told them off or humiliated them. I feel sorry for that Asian man who was also asked to apologise to the reception lady and breakfast lady in front of all. Room service/ cleaning : An average room, cleaning staff shown no respect again for guests. Didn't replenish tea or coffee , if you don’t ask for it. So u have to go to reception and ask every day after your day out. Very disappointed with stay. Would not recommend to anyone.

Great hotel. We stayed 4 nights and had a large bedroom and impressive bathroom. Housekeeping wad fantastic the room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. Small bar serving variety of drinks. We did use the Spa which was very clean. My only disappointment was the area lots of major construction outside the hotel but it did not affect our stay.

Clean and tidy, didn't find anything broken. Reasonable breakfast spread but it's debatable as to whether it's worth €22 per person. Would be good value at €16 per person.

We just stayed only 1 night...Thank God!!! All of the main road outside is being worked on, the smell of sewage outside is heavy, the build work is loud outside but in the room it did not disturb us..There underground parking is not in use due to the road work, so we had to park 700m away...( there replacement parking was 5 star very secure) and they supplied it free of charge which was a happy bonus...The only problem is the walk back to the hotel...its in a really rough area of town, we did not feel extra safe..The Staff were absolutely wonderful, checking was amazing...we arrived early just before 12am and they had our room ready..The room was ok very big, but carpet now days is out and you can smell it once you walk in the bedroom...Room was super clean, bathroom looked newish but a few design flaws...Taps in middle of a bath are a No no...when you need more hot water you near burn yourself, and the rail to hold to get out was moving around...All in great hotel for a couple of nights...

Very good location, only few hundred meters from the Station Midi/Sud. In front of the hotel heavy road works, that do not allow for direct access to the hotel door. Problem for cars and taxis and if you have a heavy luggage. The rooms heading opposite side are however quiet.

Access to hotel was restricted due to construction. Challenging for Uber and bolt. Beds are super stiff and uncomfortable. Old water pot to make instant coffee in the room unless you pay 22 euro for the breakfast. Shower was dangerous to get in and out of due to height of tub with no grip. Not a nice neighborhood outside the hotel but very central and easy to get around. The jacuzzi was barely warm maybe 85F. Go to Bruge or Ghent instead of Brussels.

Although I frequently stay in Brussels, this was the first time I stayed at this hotel. I was really surprised by the high quality of the room. It was spacious, comfortable and had an excellent bathroom. It was at walking distance to the Midi station and to the center of Brussels. I will certainly select this hotel again in the future.

The location of the hotel is very good. A walk to the train station as well as a walking distance to the Grand Place. The hotel room is very neat and tidy. Service is good. The only thing is that the toilet room is totally separated from the shower room. Therefore if you need to wash your hands you have to walk to the shower room where the sink is located. Toilet room should have a sink as well. The bed for me is not comfortable as I always have back pain every morning.

Had a great time here. Breakfast is average. Rooms are cosy and clean. It has a small fridge which is good. The sauna and gym is a nice amenity to avail after a long day.

The staff were helpful and lovely though I was hugely disappointed by the WiFi service which was a massive point for me as I had to work from the hotel which was no longer possible. As a result, I had to book a co-working space the next day. For context, the WiFi speed was less than 2Mbps which is quite abysmal and this was in the lobby. The connection in the room was worst. My feedback would be to ensure that WiFi speeds are at a decent speed to enable guest to at least do basic work.

Staff was good who guided us how to locate the hotel as it was challenge to find the same as first issue. Room was clean so no issues there. Wellness services was best expereince. 2 main issues: Finding hotel due to construction ongoing in front of hotel & breakfast options. 1) Due to heavy road construction in front of the hotel , it was difficult to find the hotel parking as such. On top of this, Parking is not free for members which is bit strange. You have charged 25 Euros per night as additional fee for Parking being Classic member which is not a good service any guest will expect. Normal parking fee is fine but 25 euros per night is expensive one for sure. Option for breakfast for vegetarians are not many but we managed with whatever is available. Regards, Mayur

Brilliant friendly reception team - thank you for the cultural and history lesson of Belgium. Currently road\transport work being carried out on the roads surrounding the hotel - but could not hear any noise at all from the lobby or rooms. All rooms that we booked were clean & comfortable with no issues at all - A great city break hotel to stay in with good restaurants and about 15 minute walk to the Grand Place

Great place, except for a few things. First for the paiement (and you'd think they want to make it easy..) i can't pay online they tell me i have to pay at the hotel (fine whatever) then they call me in a panic the day before saying the paiement couldn't go through (i have a prepaid mastercard so yes i don't keep 350€ on it at all time lol) they tell me if it doesn't work they'll have to cancel the reservation. I charge my card and they reserve the money. Then at the hotel they ask me to pay again, and then reimburse me the money they reserved.. very useless stress.. but whatever the staff is very friendly and professional so it all works out. There is a conciergerie service which was useful to put our suitcase before checking in and go explore the city (i recommend using the metro to go around). The room wasn't quite ready at 3pm but it's fine we just had a drink to wait. The spa area is open from 10am to 10pm, it's very nice i defo recommend. The bed and the noise were the main issue. We simply couldn't sleep all night, the street was extremely noisy even with our windows closed and the matress was most likely made of recycled ww2 tank material it was so stiff. And, well i mean the main reason you take a hotel is to sleep so that's a real shame. Breakfast is open from 6:30 am to 10:30 am and it very delicious. Staff wasn't comfortable speaking french.

Stayed for 5 days during conference, rooms okay but not very sound proof. Lots of construction outside starting at 6.30 in the morning, which was clearly audible in the rooms. I thought about leaving, but the staff were nice with tips about Brussels, cleaning of the room etc.

We stayed three nights at this hotel during a recent trip to Brussels and other towns such as Gent, Brugge and Antwerp Central. The staff and service was good and friendly. We booked accommodation which had a large living room, large bedroom with queen bed and a very spacious ensuite. Buffett breakfast was included in the price. We thought the best part of our stay was the breakfast with lots of choices, the ensuite bathroom additional guest toilet with wash basin, welcome drink on every night and proximity to Brussels MIDI station. Missing things were body wash and body lotion. There was construction in progress by local authorities which was annoying. Overall a good place

The rooms are really spacious and it's worth the price. There is also a very big bath! When we entered the room there was a smoking smell. We didn't think anything about it. But then we noticed a non smoking board. When we opened the curtains. We found cigarettes on the floor... Everytime we entered the room we smelled it. Besides that the room was fine! I liked the breakfast. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I am just a little sad that we couldn't use the fitness, sauna or jacuzzi due Covid. But overall a great experience!

Nice and clean hotel located near the central railway station (Bruxelles-Midi). Many refugees, beggars and pickpockets in the neighborhood. As for the hotel - pleasant service, well-furnished rooms and excellent breakfast. Great variety of food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and responsive and does its best to help guests. Parking seemed to be the only problem - it’s supposed to be free for guests, but actual price is €25 per day (even for platinum member of the loyalty program).

I found most of the staff very nice, but the hotel seems to need some maintenance and upgrade. There is a sauna and a Turkish bath (hamman) but the latter was not working when I stayed in the hotel. There is also a jacuzzi. This area is very dark, and it was impossible for the staff to switch more light, necessary for someone who wants to lay and read a book. The food offer in the bar is very short and consists mostly of frozen food which is warmed in the microwave.

I have been a long-time guest of Accor hotels, and even on this occasion I was not disappointed. It has to be said that the Mercure Centre Midi is not located in the fanciest part of Brussels, and yet - with its proximity to the Midi railway station - it is ideal as a hub for public transport. At the hotel itself, the check-in experience was good (pleasant staff and fast check-in). The room was spacious and well-furnished/decorated with the usual Accor style. I specially loved the breakfast selection (not to speak of the serving times which, starting at 6:30, allowed me still to have breakfast and to be in time to catch an early-morning flight).

Needed hotel near eurostar terminal, perfect spot. Some have mentioned hotel needs update, can only assume hotel has been upgraded as rooms were modern, larger than average and very comfortable. Fresh sheets quiet room, not sure what else you need. Staff very friendly and helpful. 15 to 20 min walk to centre. I've travelled extensively, hotel is as good as any I've stayed. Recomended.

Good rooms with correct space. Always perfectly clean even if the carpets could be renewed. Competent staff always ready to help. Not the closest frol the center (10/15 mn of walk 5mn by tram). But 2 mn from the main train station. Big + : 1/ Fabulous breakfast. Not only the usual cereals, croissant etc... But also pancakes and waffles you can fill with warm chocolate. They have fruits, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, you name it. 2/ Sauna hammam and jacuzzi perfectly clean and comfy. Available for all guests. 3/ Same thing for the sport centers with all kind of machines (even if I don't use any!) Just my favorite stay in Brussels.

  • 4/5 Dobrota E. 2 years ago on Google
Very good accommodation, large rooms, comfortable beds, good service. For a rating of 5, unfortunately it is necessary to replace the windows on the street side with soundproof windows, because the gigantic renovation happening outside will take at least another year or even two + daily city noise make it impossible to relax, and the windows that are currently there are as if they were not there at all. Plus for the gluten free option on breakfasts.

  • 5/5 Brendon G. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent location if you want to stay close to the train station and only a 10 minute walk to the grand centre. But I digress, the reason we booked this hotel was for the free Spa/Jacuzzi and fitness centre and oh boy did it deliver. Perfect for a mid priced stay if your looking to wind down. The outside street has some construction going but it wasn't noisy at all. The buffet breakfast had a vast collection of drinks and food (more cold than hot) but no choice of eggs made alacarte unfortunately. I suggest you ask for extra bottles of water at reception when you check in or come back from a day of strolling as they only refill and provide one even if your a guest of two. It's free of charge tho. No complaints really. Good value as it seemed to be on the cheaper side of what was available, and was the only one with the free spa and fitness centre. The photo is of the grand centre square which is around 15 minutes walk.

I stayed in August at this hotel, and it was awful. The location is VERY BAD, but while this is not really their fault, since I had to be close to the Midi Station, there are a lot of big problems with the hotel itself. The rooms were not cleaned well (there was hair on the bedside cabinet), and the furniture was kind of old and bad maintained. The toilet was separated from the shower, but in the toilet room was no place to wash your hands. Also, the roll of toilet paper was stored on the handler of the toilet brush, which is really not hygienic. This is not acceptable from a 4-star hotel (being an Accor Diamond-Card holder, I've been to many Mercure Hotels around the world in countries like Spain, France, Romania, Turkey and Japan and all of them were amazing, except this one), but the absolute WORST THING is the breakfast. The breakfast hall was closed "because of COVID", so the breakfast was at the bar near the reception. There were small tables, very close one to another, and the breakfast consisted of cheap bread with cheap cheese and ham. You had really no other choice. It was this, every day. For the price that it has it is simply not acceptable. I would advice you to try another hotel, even if you have to stay close to the Midi Station, since this one is simply terrible.

Room was clean and cosy. 2 elevators available. Breakfast served between 7-10am was alright. Receptionists were friendly, but most of them are like trainees. One of them made a mistake by allowing another guest to check into our room. The guest walked into our room and you can imagine our surprise. We feel unseasy when we walked out at night as there were always some sketchy people hanging around the street.

A warm and welcoming hotel, and within 10 minutes walk of the Midi/Eurostar train station. Sadly at this current time the hotel is behind major works on the street outside. Very clean and tidy within, and the staff were pleasant, spoke very good English and a particular member of staff, Kevin was superb in catering towards our needs. The rear of the hotel has a lovely modern courtyard with a glass walkway connecting to another part of the complex. Rooms were clean, bathroom was large, but the beds mattress' were very hard - my partner had to get a extra duvet to act as a mattress topper. Small maintenance issues of one reading lamp lightbulb was not working, bottom of bathroom door surrond needed attention, one bathrobe hook was missing and the carpet, especially under the where the tea and coffee were stored needed a good wet carpet deep-clean - the windows could've done with a wash too. Petty, but when you have to sort these things for a living, I tend to notice small details...Wi-Fi signal was poor in our room, but no deal breaker for me. The area of the hotel itself was not really welcoming, graffiti, homeless people and beggars were all in abundance, so single travelers may want to opt for a more central location, but having said that, once through the door the hotel is a safe & peaceful haven.

The room was clean, front desk staff very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic, just minutes away from Brussels Midi. Not very far from tourist area. There's still construction going on Jamar. Not sure why some say it's unsafe in the night, we felt very safe walking during the night. Some good restaurants nearby as well. The traffic could get a bit loud, but then it's so close to Midi that it's expected.

Very nice and clean hotel located at 5 minutes walk from train station Bruxelles-Midi, Thalys and Eurostar Terminus. There is a nice bar with outside seatings in the center of the hotel. There are big street construction work outside in 2022 and the district is not well populated

Nice hotel, clean and relaxing. Just what was needed before a morning Eurostar. The ongoing major work out the front creates some interesting pinch points if you're coming back late though.

A good large room with a cumfy bed. Coffee and kettle in the room. Some UK TV channels. Close to Midi/Suid Station, although a rather convulted walk at the moment due to major construction works on the Boulevard Jamar. The buffet breakfast was good, but the "bacon" was very odd indeed. They should use real bacon, rather than some reconstructed fake rubbish. So a point taken off the review for the bacon. One of the other reviewers shows a photo of this product, although I didn't take a photo myself.

It is "not so bad" hotel. The areas around the hotel kind of dangerous. Many pickpockets and beggars. Be careful with your bag. The hotel itself has a nice staff, big room but not a clean one. It has bugs flying around, we asked to change the room, but in the other room also has a bugs. So yeah we booked it for 2 days but we move on the second day for our peace of mind.

We highly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Brussels. We stayed for 6 nights. it was a wonderful stay. The room was lovely, quiet, very clean and extremely comfortable. Hotel staff were all incredibly nice and very quick! Anthony from the Front Desk was fantastic and made our check-in and check-out experience super easy, thanks for the great service! We will definitely return!!
