Very disappointing for a 4 star hotel, the rooms were small, and had a lot of dirt marks. The breakfast was really average. Almost all the food was gone and no one of the staff was reupping the food.

Pros: Great location and parking on the street available across the road from the hotel. Nice decor and quiet rooms. Nice view from the bedroom. Air conditioning worked well and TV channels had English channels which was a nice surprise. Nice selection of teas but I would expect a better coffee selection/small coffee machine provided in the room for a 4 star hotel. Cons: Room was shabby and had broken handles and stains on cushions. 1 very lumpy pillow that had clearly been washed and had become a collection of lumps - should never be provided in a 4 star hotel. Shower pressure was the worst I’ve seen in any hotel or B&B. No soap was provided to wash hands - only shower gel which is not the same. They apologised when we asked for soap and gave us extra shower gel so I had to specify again we need soap to wash hands but they could only give us antibacterial hand gel. Shampoo and body lotion was provided but no conditioner which is often needed when washing hair as a woman. Dirty glass in the bathroom. Mattress was very hard but we slept fine fortunately. No drink or snacks provided in the mini fridge and 1 tiny complementary bottle of water even though we were two guests. Breakfast was such a disappointment that we ate elsewhere the second morning despite already paying for breakfast. Selection of food was very poor: cheap frozen viennoiseries that had been heated up, dry bread bun, 2 clementines, 2 plain yoghurts and we were served without fruit salad and a selection of breads that other tables received when served and we had to specifically ask for them. Plate of sweaty cheese, 3 tiny slices of inedible chorizo and two cheap slices of ham that had sticky white substance on that looked as if had been taken off someone else’s plate. No apology given when checking out and the excuse for the breakfast was ‘COVID’ and re the soap it was that the “supplier failed to deliver soap”. Hotel management should always have an emergency stock to rely on. Absolutely appalling to not provide people basic sanitary supplies to wash hands after using the bathroom and no one wants to wash hands with antibacterial gel after the bathroom! Pathetic excuse to blame Covid 14 months after the pandemic started - you can’t use Covid as an excuse for everything. Such a shame - we were really looking forward to this and it was definitely not a 4 star experience and we won’t be returning.

+ Professional and helpful staff. Clean lining, comfortable bed. Nice interior in the lobby and restaurant. Luggage storage, elevator, good WiFi - the furniture are very worn. The rooms also need recovery. Water temperature was limited: warm but hot hot. The room temperature was too cold or too hot. I haven't figured out how to control it.

I reckon this is the most dated and probably dirty hotel I have visited in Brussels since ages. Unfortunately it was a business reservation so did not have any choice. Rooms are clearly dated and worn. Bathroom felt dirty. Lights were not working and the carpet was stained. The room smelled an urine smell. There was no noise insulation and if you are not luck and face the street it can be really noisy. Location is nothing particular. They charge for breakfast 26e which is horrendous. Only positive the reception staff were quite helpful, especially Antonia. Don't visit this hotel.

One of my worst ever hotel stays. It starts with the extremely narrow underground parking through which some how managed to get through unscathed, and continues with the stench that greets you when you enter the lift area (reminded me of vomit and urine). The person who checked us in seemed to think he was doing us a favor by allowing us to stay there; I believe other guests shared our "amusement" at him explaining why he needed our credit card details so that we don't leave without paying for extras. The rooms were consistent with our initial impressions - musty smell courtesy carpets that seem like they haven't been cleaned in decades, and a bathroom with suspicious flecks on the walls. The hot water kettle even had fungus inside! There was not even a single bottle of water in the room and they charged us 5 euros for a bottle from the restaurant. The breakfast costs 26 euros per person - at least it was good! (Small mercies). The location is pretty central also. Thankfully my wife's company was footing the bill of 150 odd euros per night, I have stayed in much better places at 1/3rd the price. If you have any other choice, I would recommend not staying here.

Receptionist is not really helpful and unsympathetic. Booked a double bed, got a twin bed, and when I asked for a double bed room she said that i booked twin room, and no more double beds available in the hotel. while I checked it online and there is a double bed. Called the receptionist from room's phone for a long long time, she didn't pick up, and then i called the outside line, then she picked it up.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Barsey by Warwick in Brussels, Belgium. The experience was truly enjoyable from start to finish. The breakfast was exceptional, offering a delicious selection of options. Dinner was also a highlight, with great dining choices. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. While there was no mini bar, the ability to choose your own beverages is a unique and convenient touch. The 11th-floor room I stayed in provided a lovely view of the city, adding to the overall charm of the stay. The combination of excellent amenities and a beautiful view made my stay truly memorable. I highly recommend Hotel Barsey for a pleasant and comfortable stay in Brussels.

We had a really good stay here the room was lovely and very clean.cleaned every day. only 4 stars as shower was not very hot.the staff were very helpful and the restaurant was excellent. A small issue when we arrived we had booked a double bed but they gave us twin beds but this was soon sorted and we were able to go to our room before check-in time which was great

Worst hotel i’ve stayed in in my life on so many levels. Horrible rooms horrible reception if you already booked at least please try to change your reservation to the grand place warwick its 1000 times better. Just don’t stay here believe me. Still traumatized from my stay there.

It’s gone downhill. Rooms are shabby and need a refresh, odd smells throughout, poor service in restaurant, and oily/bland fish for dinner. Too bad, it used to be better

Excellent hotel very nice and good standard, located in a good position but no parking and a ten minute walk from bus stops. Very expensive and food not great. Service excellent and room very big and well equipped very comfortable bed

Nice staff. Good food. Rooms can use some attention/updates. Excellent bed. Terrace looks nice, will try in the summer!

The room was big and comfortable and the staff was nice and helpful. It is a 25 min bus ride to the city center. The only thing is that the walls look a little bit rough and could use a cleaning.

Overrated hotel!! I stayed here two nights maid 100€/night for a room that smelled, small pillows and the bare minimum utilities. The hotel lobby looks nice but the rooms don't. It's not very comfortable compared to cheaper alternatives like motel one and b&b hotel. Really disappointed. I don't recommend at all!! It took ages for my card to work, everything is slow. It's a hotel from the 50's!!

HORRIBLE experience and I do not even consider myself as a difficult person, at all. This hotel should not have 4 stars, it has because of its location. It is also so very expensive (and not worth it, honestly). - Fridge empty; 2 tiny bottles of water in the room; - Client service is quite bad and not prepared to manage problems at all... - Nothing plant-based for breakfast except some soja milk But MORE IMPORTANTLY - I went there for 2 nights as a "honeymoon"; I was asked to pay 71€ for a romantic gesture (basically a bouquet and some beverage). Some hotels were offering me that kind of "package" but I unfortunately decided to go to this one.. I deeply regret that choice now. The bottle was an actual 9.75€ bottle of sparkling wine... I went to the reception to not even complain, but simply to ask for a better bottle as what was given was simply ridiculous... They understood my problem, told me they were going to look into it and came back to my room with a second bad bottle asking me to pay an extra 36€ for it... Basically, I spent over 500€ for those 2 nights but a 9.75€ bottle was too much to offer. The problem solving skill is just non-existant. I worked in a 3-star hotel; clients were much more respected. I absolutely do not recommend unless you are a business man/woman and have too much money to spend. Not worth it at all. The lack of respect is unbelievable.

I’ve stayed here frequently and generally been quite happy with the hotel, however today I bought a bottle of sparkling water at a shop and was not allowed to consume it in the garden even though I am a paying guest at the hotel. I was told that I will have to have my drink in the street or in a park. Further to this, I’ve only been able to take cold showers because the water never heats up. Will stay at other hotels in the future.

Urgently needs renovation and personnel training. The fault was always on a collegue! Minimal service in the room, had to ask for hand and bath soap. However, the chef of the restaurant is talented and the food was very good. Unfortunately, the service there was also very unprofessional (bad)! The breakfast room service at an extra cost of 6 euros (plus the 35) was terrible, as the photo indicate! We were eventually moved to the 10th floor where the room had at least a balcony with a wonderful view. Relatively far from Place Stephanie, but there is a tram stop very near.

I called the guest service in the morning from my room and told them that I wanted to extend the rent for another night, and they told me about the possibility of that after checking the room number and told the employee that I would go down to the reception to pay after an hour and he told me we agreed and when I went to the reception to pay after an hour they told me that there is no room for this night and when explaining the call To the manager, and that I told them in advance, and it was agreed that he denied what happened and did not try to solve the issue

It is the worst ecperience in a hotel i have ever had (it should be a 2 stars Hotel and 0 star for service) The lady at the reception asked me for my credit card and I have told her, it is a prepaid room already. Her english is veey poor and kept asking me for my credit card. She was so rude and in addition she is srupid that she debited again my credit card after pre-authorization. I am lucky that I had my credit back after a few mohths. They charge additional breakfast that I did not take, I was not the only customer in this situation. I was lucky that I had extra charge for the room but no refund on the breakfast that I have never took. I do not recommend this hotel, they are many others I have discovered with better location, and much better service ... and no hack

Great price/quality ratio, which is rare in Brussels. Good breakfast, good rooms, good location. Recommend booking directly.

Bad experience, rooms are old the amenities in the rooms don’t work properly. Gave us a room with a window which didn’t shut, so had to swap rooms at midnight, no apologies or anything for their room. And tried to tell me that it was just windy, once I showed them how the window doesn’t actually shut they changed my room. $20 euro breakfast that we did not try

I had bad experience in the hotel. It is located away from everything.i took a taxi for every ride more than 30 min, some construction works in a tunnel nearby and it will take years to finish this construction. The lady at the reception is very rude, she does not speak english and her french is not good. She charge me 3 breakfasts and I did not take my breakfast in the hotel. I hear another complaint from customers at the same time. I had to talk to a Manager but after waiting for almost 50 min because she refused to call him. I got my money back after 1 hour.they did not say even one word 'sorry'. I do not recommend this hotel.

A good place to stay in Brussels. It is inside an old mansion. Most of the amenities are nearby. Services are good too. Unfortunately, the hitting in my room was poor.

The hotel, and especially the room, is very dated. However, somehow they made it their charm. Decent breakfast as well. Earned their 5 stars because of the caring and helpful staff.

I think, the hotel facilities are like 3 stars hotels. The refrigerator was complete empty. There was only one small bottle of water in the room.no slippers, no toothpaste. worn furniture.almost clean. Although the room was reserved for me by the company and all costs were paid by the company, the receptionist still asked me to insert my personal credit card as a guarantee and this is not acceptable at all. The location of the hotel is good.

The place in Brussels you can call home. I love the style. Perfect location. Very nice staff. Cosy. And now a real chef, and one with a smile.

Terrible service. Water in bathroom was lukewarm. After trying for over two hours, and walking up and down to reception several times without luck or help, the staff told us we couldn't get another room, get any money back and would just have to suffice with a near cold bath?! ''It is what it is'' Not worth a penny of the €120 we paid for the one night. We actually had to handfill the bath with the tiny kettle in the end. Utter rubbish.

Really cool retro vibe, nice staff, good drinks down at the bar. The gym is the basic, not the focal point of the hotel, but it works. Overall, a solid hotel, a good stay, central location, clean enough. Great!

The hotel is in a state of advanced decay, with some rooms and bathrooms with no heating. As the gurgling noise in our radiator was unbearable, I had to go out to buy a key and bleed it myself, which improved the situation somewhat. (the maintenance staff being unavailable). The street facing rooms are unbelievably noisy as sub-standard soundproof windows are fitted. The bathrooms, whilst clean, are best described as shabby. The staff are reasonably friendly but it took me over ten days to have my check-in debit card amount released after payment. Great potential, but substantial investment and management changes required.

Last time I stayed there we arrived late in the evening, we booked the most expensive suite. We could not use the luxurious shower because there was not enough warm water. After reparation we wanted to use the bath, the water tap was broken. They fixed it, also saying that problems with warm water are not current. One month later I booked again, this time a standard room. Again arriving late no hot water in the bathroom. The housekeeper tried to fix it and finally I had to move in another room, in the middle of the night. The keycard was not working and I was stuck in the floor. The exit door was closed. I pushed the alarm in the elevator and no one came. I called the reception from my mobile phone and they finally came to fix the keycard. The warm water again was not warm enough for taking a bath. Same in the morning. The breakfast changed a lot in quantity from my previous stay, no warm eggs anymore, less tea choice and so on. I decides to cancel my second night which they did without asking for supplementary costs. I will never go there again, there are much better hotels, also in the area.

Barsay by warwick has some kind of a mystery theme. It was nice to feel like going through a portal to the past. The rooms are clean and well decorated. The bathroom was clean but the hot water takes time to flow. The waiters were friendly. It was a pleassnt experiemce to stay there. I do not know if it was intentionaly to make all the doors squeek but they go along with the mysterioys theme. Thank you barsay

The hotel is pretty dated and is in dire need of renovation in some parts. However the lobby and the bar were very extravagant, especially with the Xmas decorations. The front of house staff were really helpful, although when we went for a beer the bar staff seemed uninterested and a bit rude. Very slow service and the waitress even took a freshly ordered drink of my friends to a different table. The rooms were ok but you could hear through the walls which isn’t nice in a hotel. The bed was a little uncomfortable and I struggled to sleep some nights. The shower leaked (nothing too major), and took an age to get warm. The toilet was separate to the bathroom (which was a little odd). If they spent a little on touches here and there, this hotel would be a great little find.

The style of hotel was nice I loved the interior with wooden furnitures …I felt like I travel back in time , break fast was nice too, however the shower tap was broken, staffs were responsible to fix it quickly. Over all if you want to feel old school feeling and service it is nice place to go also the overall price is much cheaper and nicer than modern hotel which have ikea chairs , however you should aware that it might not be the place searching for modernity

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The hotel has a requirement to leave a deposit of 50 euros, which is reserved from your credit card. Which would be perfectly fine if it wasn't for the hotel's inability to handle the money reservation system. During check out the Hotel worker said, that the money reservation has been removed. I left to other Belgian town and next day I checked my Internet bank - I saw that 50 euros is still reserved, but it wasn`t the worst of it. I also noticed that during my staying every night at 2 AM ( when I was sleeping) it was reserved a sort amount of money for nothing. To be clear, it was payed for hotel and breakfast before my staying. I tried to reach hotel by phone which is on their internet page - the system reported that number was wrong. Later, I asked Belgians and they said that it is on number too much. I wrote 3 letters and I didn`t receive any reaction. ( I got answer only after few days through my travel agency). When I return to Brussels I came back to hotel. The worker said that money reservations were made by system automatically and she need to make of money return. She did it. By the way, these 50 euros of required reservation euros, wasn`t return also. The worker even didn`t say I am sorry. Yesterday, I finally saw that reservations were removed. But anyway it cost me a lot pf unpleasant moments trying to reach hotel and find out situation also if you required to reserved some amount of money from the clients, what are the requirements for yourself about your system safety and quick resolution of the problems? It was very bad experience and these money and communication issues doesn`t inspire trust in this Hotel.

Great potential BUT it's time for renovations. Currently I would rate it as 2-3 star hotel. Sorry...

  • 5/5 Szymon M. 2 years ago on Google
A nice 4-star hotel, with some interesting stylish interiors, restaurant and a fitness center. Well communicated with a tram station nearby. Little fridge at disposal. It is clean, and the staff is helpful and nice. What suprised me was the 50 EUR refunable deposit is charge in the beginning of the stay to cover potential damage, even if you pay for entire stay upfront, but I guess this must be a standard here. It does not have a swimming pool unfortunately.

  • 3/5 Polly A. 2 years ago on Google
The staffs are beyond fabulous; the location was great. But this hotel serious needs some updating … hot water in the shower needs to be hot not warm, no leaking bathroom, all walls should be repainted and carpets replaced …

  • 1/5 Chandler W. 1 year ago on Google
Pros: - Staff were friendly and prompt - The hotel is located by several restaurants/businesses Cons: - After checking in, I noticed that none of the drains (Sink/Shower/Tub) were working correctly. The tub drain even had visible water that wasn't draining. The shower/sink were draining extremely slowly. This was annoying, but wouldn't have been as big of a problem except for... - It seems that the housekeeping team decided to never attempt to clean the shower drain. So as soon as I attempted to take a shower, previous occupants hair/etc began coming up out of the drain, and into the shower basin (That wasn't draining). I had to stand up on the edges of the shower to avoid it. I attempted to pull some of the hairs out of the drain myself using the provided shower cap as a glove, but as soon as I turned the water on again, even more started to come up from the drain. - The shower and other parts of the bathroom had black mold/mildew present. It seems that the bathrooms as a whole were never cleaned/improperly cleaned - The room/furniture was generally in rough shape. Furniture was falling apart, light fixtures falling out of the walls, and windows that didn't properly seal After talking with some of my local coworkers, apparently this location is known for being sub-par, so it's probably worth booking a different Warwick hotel, or a different brand entirely.

Room was from the 1960s with decor needing a drastic update. Parking you won't get in as it will always be 'full'. Service was good by staff but nothing exceptional. Everything in the room was either broken or filthy. We had brown unknown stains on the curtains with a vent in the room on the floor which was full of rubbish. All fixtures and fittings were loose and hanging off the wall. For the money we weren't very impressed. Good location for food though

Hmmm... We've chosen that place due to being close to the office. First look was pretty good. But in the morning there was no warm water and in addition the regulator fell off... ok, this can happen, so I informed the hotel lobby... sadly the knob wasn't fixed when I returned late at night. The breakfast was chaotic, coffee machine not working... missing spoons... staff cannot speak english... doesn't know how to boil a 5min egg... yeah... sorry for the poor rating.

Nice place, big rooms, clean..I went out, but couldn't really rest the way I wanted.. There was an alarm in that room that I couldn't turn off..and it started from 7 till 10😒

The rooms pictured on the website do not reflect the room you reserved. The hotel has not been refurbished!!! I made reservations for my parents for a premium twin room and the room had torn and stained chairs, the bathtub is stained and dirty. They’re supposed to stay 10 nights. The staff seems helpful.

We had a wonderful time, the hotel is so gorgeous. The garden in the back is stunning. Our room had a huge window with an incredible view. The location was perfect it’s on a really cool street with lots of coffee shops. Right on the tram line. It was my birthday and they surprised us with champagne and Belgium chocolates.
