Do not make the same mistake I did and ignore the bad reviews!!! There were enough decent reviews to overshadow the bad ones, and I don’t know how anyone rated this hotel more than 1/5 stars. I always take bad reviews of hotels and restaurants with a grain of salt, but this is NOT the hotel to do that with. As two young women, we felt completely unsafe in this hotel. Upon checking in, there were strange men loitering in the lobby. When the front desk staff handed us our key, he announced out loud what room we were in for everyone to hear. Once we made it up the elevator to our floor, there were no lights on. When we got into the room, the lights were flickering, the door had no extra locks, and it smelled of urine. I didn’t even have a chance to look at the cleanliness of the room/bathroom before I was searching for a new hotel for us to move to. Both of us are experienced travellers, but I would hate for young, new travellers to book this hotel because of an appealing price in a rather expensive city. We trusted our immediate gut feeling and did not spend more than 10 minutes at this hotel. We were both equally scared and our safety was much more important than potentially losing out on the 500$ we paid to spend 3 nights in this hotel. The only saving grace was that we will be receiving a refund for not staying there, but there was NO amount of money that I could have lost that would have made me stay there.

I don’t even know how to start this. For the last 5 years, 80% of my work is traveling. I honestly felt this unwelcome in the hotel like this one. First of all, their wifi doesn’t work, second their customer service is very poor. They are very rude to the extend I don’t know how to explain it. But what is very worst is that I booked online through Priceline, I could see that I was already charged but the hotel convinced me that the payment didn’t go through. I had to pay again, and the money never come back on my account. The guy were convincing me to pay in cash so he can reduce the price. But actually he was trying to scam me. This hotel d’escale owned by Turkish family and they are nothing but scams. The rooms were dirty, no hot water, no channels on the tv. My two meetings got cancels Bcz there was no wifi. When I asked they to fix the wifi I was told that there their technicians are all in vacation. Horrible experience.

The area wasn't the greatest and upon arrival the entrance was dirty staff at desk were uninterested and not helpful. On going to our room the bedding was dirty, shower was gross and looked like it hadn't been cleaned and the room smelled of mold and urine. Ended up not staying and didn't get any sort of refund I strongly recommend avoiding it altogether.

Staff are ok, but the rooms are terrible. And not to mention if you are unlucky enough to have a room at the front, good luck getting any sleep as the noise from traffic is unbearable

Myself and my girlfriend stayed there on our trip to Brussels, guy at reception was honestly very nice but when asked about a few places of the area wasn't much help. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my stay as the bed was very comfortable. Room was a bit dirty as was bathroom but sheets were clean. The website mentions breakfast but there is no sign of it anywhere in the hotel but for the price you can't complain. It's an okay place to stay for a night or two just to rest your head 3 stars seems like a fair rating.

DON'T STAY HERE. While the location is great for the Brussels Midi that's about it's only upside. The walls and windows are paper thin - I literally heard the person in the neighbouring room unzip their bag and the word for word conversations of people on the street. The rooms also have no AC or fan, so are excruciatingly hot. Between the noise (which means having your window open isn't really an option) and the heat, it's pretty hard to get much sleep at all. The place is also generally run down - dents in the wall, plaster fixes that haven't been painted over - and the beds are fairly average in terms of comfort. I wish we'd paid a little more for somewhere where we could actually sleep...

This hotel has bed bugs. It is severely mismanaged. The mattress was filthy. In a state of disrepair. It’s extremely noisy being next to main road, sirens all night. See photos of bed bugs.

This don't deserve the name “hotel“. I had mold in the bathroom. Also the hole room and the bathroom wasn't clean. No cleaning in three days. The rest of the room is okay, really old and damaged furniture. The most horrible thing is the noise. The walls are thin, and you can hear everything from other rooms. When Somebody is under the shower, talks or brush their teeth, you can hear everything. When you have an room on the street site, good luck to sleep. The whole area around the hotel dodgy. I haven't feel save. All in all, when you searching for an centrally located, cheap rooms, with no cleaning standards. You are right here. But I would never sleeping there again.

I should have not book in this hotel. I cancelled my booking because of the review. I can't risk my life if it's like that. Safety first. I get a refund of 5%. I paid £67 they will just get a £3 refund. I hope nobody would book here anymore.

My whole stay was good in general and enjoyed every moment in Brussels:). The location was very good and handy to go anywhere in Brussels. The place is very quiet and safe. The people are very friendly. The only think I hated and worsen my allergies is the smoking smell. The whole building and the room smell cigarettes.

DO NOT STAY HERE Deserves less than one star, me and my friend booked this hotel absolute disgusting place, homeless people sleeping outside, we were harassed on the street walking to this hotel. Room vile, bathroom in awful state. Such an unsafe area, when we brought this to the attention of the person working there we were told there was nothing she could do. Asked for a refund she said she can refund 3 days but not the full 4 because we already used the room and she advised we stay for the night, told her we were afraid to stay in such a bad area and sleep in such a disgusting room and she said she will not refund us the full amount. Lost 100 euro to literally come into the room and leave. Appalling🤢🤢 we had to leave and book somewhere else last minute. Holiday from hell with this hotel also 30 mins walk to city center when it was meant to be less than 2km.

The room was large but dirty. Hairs on the beds and dusty. The water tab didn't work properly and the shower doors jammed.

The place is a dump. Id never stay here again personally. Filthy, smelly almost a homeless shelter aura. My room had a broken bed, unpainted walls, and a shower that barely worked. Dont recommend at all. Receptionist was kind and helpful though.

Wow, that was the most disgusting hotel i've ever visited. I have booked a room with separate beds, and we (2 men) got one bed with 1 (!!!!) blanket! The other negative points: mold in the bathroom, lights besides the bed didn't work or didn't even have bulbs, the other room light was also broken, the bed was broken too und very uncomfortable, we had insects in our bed... Furthermore you can't actually sleep because the environment is so loud (police every 5 minutes, shouting people, trains...). I don't felt safe in the area or even in the hotel. I will never visit this place again, we have payed over 100 Euros per night... i would rather have preferred to sleep in my car or besides the homeless people in front of the hotel!

The room was in a absolutely disgusting state, the second you walked in you got a whiff of mould and dirt. Outside of our room there were drunk and high homeless people, it was an unsafe location as we were only two women in the room. The whole area was just very sketchy and smelled of urine everywhere. The website stated that the hotel is close to the city centre turned out it’s a 30 minute walk, 30 minutes is not that far but walking past that awful area at night was not suitable for two women alone. We were in that hotel for an hour and requested for a refund, we got harassed outside of the hotel 3x. The woman at the reception told us that there is nothing she can do and she can only refund us for 3 days not the full four days even though we haven’t even touched anything in the room as we were scared of catching something. Overall it was a terrible hotel and I definitely do not recommend. The rooms are not at all what they look like in the pictures.

Very shady location (but close to midi station) Mediocre service, not really helping when you had an issue. No wi-fi (WTH?) Rooms in a pretty bad state (bathroom door was obviously punched and not fixed, cigarette holes in the bed sheets, shower half broken, and I could go on) but they're spacious.

This place is disgusting. Rooms in shabby state, bathrooms very dirty. Worst of all there were clearly visible bed bugs (and a lot of them). DO NOT STAY HERE, pay the extra 20-30 euro for somewhere else, its worth it.

Although the hotel was very well located and the staff very friendly, this was still one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in my life. First we were put in a room without side tables, lamps, telephone and the few things the room had (bed and wardrobe) were in very poor condition. We asked to change rooms and were put in a twin room without working lamps. As we were there for only a couple of days more we decided not to make a fuss about it, but on the last night I woke up with bedbug bites all over my body. So I definitely do not recommend this hotel, specially because because although it was one of the cheapest options in the area, it was still quite expensive considering the conditions of the hotel.

DONT COME IN SUMMER there’s no AC or fan and it’s absolutely roasting you won’t be able to sleep. Nothing about this place is comfortable, don’t be tempted to book just because it’s close to the train station. Not worth it trust me

Awful Hotel, the beds are broken, everything is dirty and broken. It's loud, just don't book this place! Had no sleep here...

During booking, the room was being advertised as "soundproof", however it was clearly anything but. On top of this, the city noise bled through the uninsulated windows day and night and the radiator didn't work at all, not even when temperatures outside dropped considerably. The walls had disgusting dirty streaks on them and several appliances were completely out of order. Staff was reasonably friendly though. We weren't notified of the checkout time in advance and had to leave more or less haphazardly/pack our stuff up within minutes due to this when the cleaning ladies came knocking. For the money i paid i honestly expected a bit more, can't say i recommend this place unfortunately.

I.. i dont know where to begin. Ur paying a ridiculous amount of money for a quick walk to the station and nice staff. It is a dump. Wall and ceiling where peeling off. Nothing except the lobby is carpeted floor any sound that is made, wether it’s outside or inside, it sounds like its in the same room as u. The bed holy moley. Everything smells muffy. Theres signs there used to b bedbugs, and honestly i think the homeless people down the road had a more comfortable spot to sleep then we did. Its like all springs that feel like they r about to pop out n stab u. Don’t order at the bar. Just look at the drinking glasses they r extremely dirty. Mold and blond hair in the bathroom while neither of us r blond, n our view was literally the same view u get in a jail cel. We had 4 plugs. Only 3 worked but we had to charge our phones so far away we overslept n nearly missed our train.

This hotel needs a serious renovation. My first night I was woken up every hour by other guests coming in through the night as the walls are so thin (you can hear someone in the shower) and the noise from the road is VERY loud and will keep you up. Everything was falling apart in my room. The bottom of the chair looked like it was damaged, the TV and remote did not work, the door handle to the bathroom needed to be used slightly otherwise they felt like they would break one of the wall plugs exterior fell off and the lamp bulb was missing. Another thing that bothered me was the storage for suitcases was always open and you could easily go in whenever, which didn't make me feel like my stuff was completely safe but thank goodness I had a lock on my belongings. The only good things I can say is that the staff were really lovely and helpful. Because of my plug situation, they lent me a wall plug adapter so I could still charge my phone. The bathroom was decent and the location is really good from the Midi station. If there is a renovation, it needs to be NOW and potentially the hotel needs to be closer to Rue Charles Parenté street to avoid any noise. I'd recommend other hotels but NOT in this area. Try somewhere else until this place gets renovated.

Avoid if possible! 2 star facilities at 3 star prices. We booked a room here for our vacation. The room was big enough and the bed was nice but: -the walls are super thin, you can hear your neighbors if they are breathing too loud -bathroom was not very clean and the shower had a faulty drain; even after telling the receptionist to send someone to fix it, twice, problem was not solved -parts of the room were dirty, such as the vent, which was visibly very old and really dusty -breakfast is a joke; expensive and does not offer any good food; they have overpriced coffee with no option for a latte or cappuccino; you are far better off going to Gare De Midi nearby and having breakfast there, or bringing it to your room -staff is unfriendly; they don't offer any useful advice about the city and even saluting you back is a big effort for them -parking is a ripoff; 13 euros a day for chance to put your car in an open space behind the hotel -the nearby area isn't very nice; the streets are filled with graffiti and the view is dismal; only upside is that Gare De Midi is nearby My suggestion: go here only if this is your last option. Otherwise, there are other much better 3 star hotels out there!

Very basic but ok for a nights stay before the Euro star home as it's just a short walk from the station

  • 1/5 Melinda 1 year ago on Google
Location is good in that it's a 5min walk from the train station. Other than that the location doesn't feel too safe, especially at night. The rooms themselves are so filthy. You get clean towels daily and bedding was fairly clean. But the toilet and shower was so dirty, walls are gross, the curtains are filthy. The walls have paint peeling off and are dirty. One guy on the reception was rude and seemed uninterested in helping at. Overall better to pay slightly more elsewhere!!!

Very nice people but the room is just not in a good condition. Also it is very loud outside because of the street and because of a party. Good like with your sleep:)

Expected worse from reading the reviews. Yes the shower was very moldy. Apart from that everything was clean, the bathroom and sleeping room are quite spaceous. The staff was alright, very fast and simple check in and out. Was the cheapest we could find in Bruxelles on very short notice, so it was fine for us. Close to the flixbus station at the south gate which was practical and you can walk to the city centre in 20-30 minutes.

This hotel is absolutely deplorable! The front desk attendant is kind but ineffective. There is no carpet in the halls or rooms which causes the hotel to be very noisy during all hours. The WiFi simply does not work. The rooms look nothing like the pictures that are posted in their online advertisements. There is a light in my room that does not work, the bed looks like it was made by a toddler, the bathroom cup is too dirty for me to use, the sink has hair on it that is not mine and the floor has large visible pieces of dirt and dust that have been here since before my arrival. I have spoken to the front desk attendant about my complaints and although she listens attentively nothing is being done. The only reason I am staying here is because of the hotel’s close proximity to the Midi station.

  • 4/5 Akhil K G. 4 years ago on Google
It's a decent place and good location. It is about 5 min walking distance from the Brussels Midi station which is very handy. But I didn't feel like it was a 3 star room although it is decently furnished and maintained, but I think could do better for the money.

  • 2/5 Reinis K. 2 years ago on Google
Very dirty and definitely not a 3 star hotel. Would not book again

  • 4/5 Mathis A. 3 years ago on Google
For the price, the hotel was quite good but don't expect too much. What was nice is that, to my surprise, the room was rather big. It had a bathroom with a shower included. Although some stuff was broken it wasn't to bad and because this hotel is rather cheap I didn't care too much. My main concern is the area the hotel is located in. It is unfortunately one of the worst areas in Brussels. At daytime it was okay as there were many people headed for the train station nearby but at night it felt unsafe.

I gave it 3 stars because I wasn't really please, but don't get me wrong, it's a very nice hotel, but during this summer times, it's very hot inside and there's no fan or air condition there 🥵🥵 you can only open the window to catch some air

  • 5/5 Antonio F. 2 years ago on Google
Very convenient location, quick check in. Rooms are clean..reasonable prices.

  • 4/5 Nathan B. 7 years ago on Google
Good service. Good English. Lovely room, really large, nice clean bathroom, plenty of place, great price and good location next to the train station! Would recommend! Also, 24 hour check in and help desk which is very helpful! Down side, few plugs, thin walls so its noisy and a cracked bedside table which we caught ourselves on.
