Very nice and clean hotel. But it seems to be old. Some wallpaper are coming off the wall, paint is worn off at some places and the carpet seems to be old. But the room was very clean. We got surprised by an upgrade, complimentary water, coffee and tea in the room and the awesome interior. Check-in was quick, service was nice and we could sleep well (will bring own pillow the next time. They are kinda odd. But that's my point of view). The surrounding isn't that clean but there are some nice stores, restaurants and boutiques in the streets around the hotel. Tram stop is just a few steps away. So arrival, trip and departure ist quick and easy. We asked not to be disturbed the whole stay. We didn't wanted to have cleaning service. And it worked. They respected our request and only came in, as I put out the "please clean" sign out. So that's a huge positive point for us. But still, we could reach out to the reception for any wish we would have. The hotel isn't located in the center of Brussels but that's totally fine due to less noices and the tram and bus stop nearby (metro also is just about 1 km away) If we are returning to Brussels again, we will definitely come back to Le Châtelain. Hopefully they will fix those small issues of worn off carpets, paint and wallpaper.

We had 2 king size bedrooms. The rooms were big. We stayed 3 days and our rooms were cleaned during the stay. The cleaner even noticed I did my make up and very sweet that he/she put some make up cleaning wipes in the bathroom for me :) Staffs are friendly - We were about to have a walk in the centre before returning back to London on our last day but we then decided to stay at the hotel as my Mum was not well. The lady at the reception gave us a bottle of hot water for my Mum and some tea for us when we were at the reception area. Very friendly and caring staffs. We parked the car outside of the hotel there were some street parking. There was a night a hotel staff member very kindly gave his space to us as he said he is leaving in an hour, when we were struggling to find a parking. Very positive stay overall.

We had a nice stay here for 3 nights. The bed was very comfy and we slept well. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The one downside was the €14 we got charged for two cups of tea in the bar! Nice garden area, and decent restaurants a short walk away.

Good value for money, with excellent breakfast. Reception, lounge and dining room all reflect the 5 star nature of the hotel. However rooms and corridors are a little dated with worn carpets. Good location for tram network although hotel is not centrally located. Didn’t appear many restaurants close to the hotel. The hotel seems to have just a limited evening meal option in small lounge area.

I was at the hotel with my boyfriend for the Tomorrowland Belgium 2023 festival. The room we stayed in was really wonderful. We had groups of passengers to participate in the festival and the service to us and our customers was truly impeccable! I also liked the location, as there was a supermarket nearby for us to do some shopping if we needed something during the night when we returned from the festival. I definitely recommend this hotel and we will be back at both dates of the festival now in 2024!

A delightful boutique luxury hotel. The rooms are huge with great luxurious features, the staff are genuinely helpful and pleasant to interact with, the location is perfect with several different tram lines within a 2-3 minute walk, and there are ample dining, shopping, and drinking establishments around the hotel. I will definitely stay again at this hotel when I return to Brussels in the future

Really nice room for Brussels. A bit old style but doesn't arm. Good mattress for good sleep. Nice breakfast despite I found it expensive

Very friendly and attentive staff. Big room and comfortable bed. Bathroom and glasses could use more thorough cleaning. 29 euro per person for breakfast buffet.

Brilliant place to stay in Brussels. I had this opportunity to stop at Le Châtelain during a business trip. Spacious room, with a view on the city. Cosy and comfortable bed. Amazing staff 👏

The hotel is good. Very decent hotel. Location is also good... The rooms are big with a bath tub... The staff is super nice and helpful. They will ensure u have a pleasant stay.. We loved our stay here. The restuarant food is expensive...you can always go out n eat.. There are some eating joints behind the hotel.

Extremely friendly and polite, the room was great except one lampshade that was broken. The hotel itself deserves 5 out of 5 all the way through but dry bread for the 26€ avocado toast and burrata which tasted off is generally unacceptable - especially given the price. Nonetheless, I would stay here again, particularly because the staff was so nice.

Excellent room with a view and a paper wall, excellent bathroom with a tub. Basic welcome at the reception, no spa no pool in this 5 star hotel. A little bit in need of refurbishment

My experience with the coffee machine was quite unpleasant. I got sick due to the presence of fungus, and the smell of the room and bathroom was old and dirty. It definitely impacted my overall experience in a negative way.

Very decent hotel, spacial rooms and a fine breakfast. Location very good. Valet-parking (parking garage next door) costs 35€ which I find very over-priced.

Le Châtelain, NEVER,EVER BOOK THIS HOTEL! I had the worst experience of my life! This hotel is supposed to be a 5 star hotel but I promise you,it’s less than a 3star! Don’t let the outside fool u! I have no idea how they get their stars BC the hotel is literally filthy! I had to change rooms 2x. First the hallway on the fifth floor had huge chlorine-like stains. My original room was so dirthy, the carpet had brown nasty stains all over. After I demanded the manager 2 come up 2 see this 4 himself, he humbly apologized & upgraded me 2 a twin room, which had the same nasty stains & even the light green couch u see in the pictures had big brown stains! I refused this room as well and finally he put us in another room which was less stained, however the carpet was still dirty! I settled 4 that & to compensate us they offered free breakfast 4 the 2 days which was not included the €400 for 2 nights. There was not even an outlet 2 charge ur phone on the nightstand. They had2 bring me an extension cord! And this is a 5 star hotel! 😱 A whole panel in the hallway of the 7th floor was loose and was hanging down. It was terrible! BUT this next situation will blow ur mind! So we checked out after two days and we’re waiting for our ride to pick us up. We sat in a couch area which is a part of the bar & of course u have to order drinks when u sit there. We sat down but the table was wet from the previous ppl who ordered drinks. There was a bartender working, his name Salvadore. He passed us at least 5 times not even asking us what we wanted to order. At some point my husband asked him if he could wipe the table bc we were ready to order drinks but also I couldn’t even put my purse down. Immediately he looked agitated and said that he was busy & we had to wait. He was very rude. Thirty minutes past and he never came back 2 our table 2 wipe off the water. So we asked again and he starting yelling, saying that he’s not gonna wipe shit and if we sit there we have 2 order drinks! My husband told him 2 check his way of speaking and also reminded him that he never came 2 ask us what we wanted 2 order. Ar this point I was schocked and appalled by his reaction! Never in my life, while traveling had I experienced some1 this rude! He went on a rant saying that he’s not gonna wipe the table for “us” people & Immediately I got racistic vibes, bc we had not did a thing to this man! We waited patiently for him 2 come back when he told us to wait, even though that struck a nerve with me. Anyway, he went on ranting and I told him look if this is ur bar whether or not we order you should still clean your bar area.He then had the nerve 2 call me a “b*tch”? Wow😱? But now all hell broke looss BC my husband wasn’t having that,so he walked up 2 him and pushed him & told him not 2 speak to his wife like that, and I’m not gonna lie when he called me a b*tch, I responded with “ your mother is a B” ! That set him off even more and he picked up a plate and tempted to throw it at me, my husband at this point pushed him back again thats when he ran out of the bar 2 the front desk still ranting and being super aggressive! At his point I was shaking. Did he just threatened to throw a glass plate at a woman? Really? In a five start hotel? After a minute or so he ran back, 2 of his colleagues followed him back 2 the bar & he then picked up the plate again ánd a glass cup & right in front of his colleagues he threw the plate & the cup on the bar floor & glass was shattered everywhere! At this point I am shaking.I couldn’t believe what I just noticed! I was in utter SHOCK! This didn’t just happened! Especially bc I work 4 the biggest Dutch Royal airline myself where customer service is everything! His colleagues then moved him away. They try 2 make excuses 4 him, saying that he was working all day ( this happened at 4pm) & he must have been tired. No excuse in the world could make u treat a guest like this, period! But in a 5 star hotel?I ended up calling the cops! Bc this was unacceptable!! They kept apologizing but I haven’t heard from any1 after I left.

Everything in the hotel was outstanding. Particularly the service by the staff is exceptional. They are very friendly and super helful. Can't thank them enough particularly Yunus who helped to get my broken car fixed to drive back to Germany.

THE place in THE neighborhood you want to spend your evenings on a business or pleasure trip. The staff makes this place come alive: professional, warm, and attentive.

Statues there for about 10 days recently with work. The upgraded room was a lovely size with a small couch and nice sized desk to work at. I always ask for a quite room and had one at the back of the hotel which suited me as I wasn’t around during the day to enjoy any views. I found the room ran a bit hot but you can open a window if wanted which is useful and found the bed very comfortable.

It's small but almost perfect hotel. It is maintained very cleanly and providing nice and convenient things such as slippers, robes and high quality soaps and shampoos. The structure of the room and furniture are very functional. They provide tasty breakfast. You never regret staying this hotel.

Excellent hotel, looked after well. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The bar is nice and cosy, and the outside one looks lovely, but couldn't use it due to the weather. Gym is great and you get a good view of the city from the roof top. Have stayed in this hotel there times and would definitely stay again.

This is a very nice place to stay. Staff are friendly and professional. We arrived 3 hours sooner than the check in time (3 pm) but they were welcoming and let us in after 5 minutes of checking if the room was ready and prepared. Rooms are clean, pretty, bathroom is quite nice and spacious.

This hotel is fine. It's definitely showing it's age and 4 star hotel it is not, but it has a good location, decent gym, nice little rooftop view of the city. beds are comfortable, but decor and furniture are old and worn.I booked a "superior" room but turns out that just means "standard" aka "basic" - very small bed, cramped, awful view into a brick wall. I asked to change rooms as I was given 2 single beds instead of the double I booked but they said no - oh well. You can do way better in Brussels for the price.

It is a very beautiful nice looking hotel with a pretty bathroom. Kind employees. And very affordable price. It is a little bit out of the city center though but it is a nice tradeoff.

Stunning hotel with hospitable services and at a very reasonable price. Rooms are super comfortable and the bar is charming. It's not located in the city centre but the Châtelain (Kastelijn) district is well-accessible and not as crowded, a very wise choice for those who don't "need to" stay near the Grand-Place (Grote Markt). There are all sorts of restaurants and shops near the hotel to keep you entertained.

Great room, great location. The only reason service didn't get 5 stars from me was because of the staff at night at the front desk. The day staff was super helpful and pleasant. My girlfriend had some questions for the night staff, and they were less than pleasant and helpful and left her feeling like they really didn't treat her well. With the conversation I overheard from a chair in the lobby she was absolutely right in her judgment. Aside from that everything was great.

The service here is amazing, and I completely feel that I am being treated like royalty. The rooms are decent sized for Europe, but small compared to places I've been in the USA but I didn't mark that against the hotel - stuff is smaller in Europe. What I did mark against were little things that made the room feel dated - the 10 year old iPhone dock, stains on the carpet and sofa, the only two open plugs being in the living area making it hard to charge electronics and use CPAP machines while you sleep. Location is... Not the best. The neighborhood is fine, but it's a good walk from several bus stops / tram stops. It is also not convenient to any of the main train stations, so expect to take Uber or a taxi back and forth. Something most reviewers do not comment on is WiFi. Speeds were tested at 150Mbps down and 50Mbps up, which is excellent for hotel. I am able to stream 1080p with no issues and do video conference calls. The WiFi is strong and I'm able to hit it from the cafe across the street. Overall I am pretty satisfied for the price. I do agree with what others have said though - a bit of detail on the rooms would make this place over the top. I should comment on the menu - what is on their website is not what they are currently serving. They have a simplified menu (as of August 2022) due to Covid, which is fine, and I'm not disappointed with the food, it's good, it's just not 5 star hotel food (pizza, pasta, salad, hamburger and chicken club). It's a bit overpriced for what they are serving, but the service and presentation is amazing. Also, if you want a beer after the bar closes at 2200, there is a cafe across the street that serves alcohol and they are open until 0100

The outside patio was beautiful andspectacular, and it accompanied the bar. I loved that.on each floor you could have your shoes polished before you got on the elevator. The linens on the bed were very good and the bed was very good. We would stay here again if we were in Brussels. The neighborhood is incredible!
