A lovely little bar and restaurant with quantity interior of old time. Popular as one of the place where Magritte and friends hung out. Food was great, local food and many variety of Belgian beers.

I visited on Saturday afternoon around 5, so it was quite deserted and calm. Liked the interior of this pub which looked very old fashioned (heard that Magritte was a frequent at this pub!) the chicken dish was not bad and I finished them all with beer and fries, but I would rather try a different menu if I go there again.

This is a cute cafe that's much larger than it appears from the street. Has a limited food menu-today three items. Nice place to chill.

One of the greatest bars I ever had the pleasure to visit. I would give it 10 out of 5😎

Amazing interior, lots of interesting things on the walls. Lots of history, the beer list is great albeit a little on the safe side. Reasonably priced and a must visit when in the city even if it's not for a beer

It's the first time that I've been here for dinner. It was a really good Belgian cuisine . The Brussels stew (carbonnades bruxelloises) reminded me the one that my mom was used to cook in winter. All the dishes actually reminded me her cooking !! The pub is also a unique stam cafe, I like the special atmosphere from those old pubs. The only important point to keep in mind is to book 4-5 days in advance ;-)

It doesn't do food anymore but I'll give it a five anyway as it was nice when we ate there in 2019. One of the classic Brussels bars with ties to Magritte and several other artists, it suffered because of Covid (like so many places) and has only recently reopened as just a bar (but you can buy sandwiches next door and take them in). Well worth a visit.

The surroundings and beer are great. It's of historic interest to me and I like to imagine Magritte and his friends meeting in the back room - indeed there's a large photograph of them on the wall. The staff are faintly dismissive however - no I didn't want to eat at 1500 as I already had... I'm prepared to accept the offhand manner as part of the whole experience but the place won't have five stars from me with that attitude.

What a great place! Large selection of beer, amazing food and great service! They even had some sour ales made locally 🍺. Enjoy!!!

This used to be an authentic Brussels café; unfortunately the new owners don’t understand what Brussels really means, like zwanzen or not taking yourself too seriously. A new generation of cancel culture has done damage to what used to be my playground and with me so many native people born in Brussels. If you like overpriced drinks in a cancelled and all-but-authentic Brussels atmosphere, then this is the place for you. If you’re looking for authentic Brussels “estaminet”, move on. It’s not here anymore. This is Disney for wokers. Dommage.

As authentic Brussels as it can be. Not only surrealist Magritte’s favorite hangout, but also that of Hergé, the genius comic-author of Belgium’s most famous hero, Tintin. While it’s famous customers is reason enough to pay it a visit, the authentic food doesn’t disappoint either. Far from. The typical Brussels stoemp (mashed potatoes with any type of seasonal veggie), which comes with pork sausage is heaven on a plate. A must do when in Brussels!

You must have visited this special café with history. What a shame that there is so little choice of non-alcoholic beers, while there are now gems from small but also large breweries.

Honestly had it not been pouring rain we would not have found this gem. We ducked in because of the downpour and found a warm cozy amazing little bar. The staff very welcoming and friendly and it is clearly a regulars place. Don't miss if you are nearby.

A magic cozy little bar coffee shop in Brussels with amazing atmosphere decoration and a lot of history behind. If you like this kind of old vintages spots you will love it. A must see

Nice and unique atmosphere with quite good good selection of beers. Snacks are limited though. Don't hesitate to bring yours.

Stopped in for a coffee and an afternoon drink. Came back later for the hip hop concert in the back room (there is a hidden stage behind a staff door). The reviews that talk about the storied history are spot on—if you go to The Magritte Museum, you will see a famous pic of the Surrealists taken outside this cafe. Try for a table in the front two rooms—all are fantastic but the front rooms have a bit more character. Great staff, too.

Memories of "het goudblommeke" date back to the late sixties for me. A real gem, which fortunately was saved from disappearance. Former centre of a particular Brussels arts scene. The results of decades long smoking on the ceiling and wallpaper, where visible between paintings, graphics and poems, has been redone / or kept. The atmosphere is extraordinary. A real must visit,

Wonderful and super cousy. Beers are also very tasty. Now they only serve food and snacks but it is still an amazing historical bar to be in Brussels.

This is a place you should see when visiting Brussels. A lot of famous writers and other artists almost "lived" in this unique atmosphere. Try the Geuze Girardin, your life will be much nicer afterwards

Good foods and good service. I usually don’t like beers (American) but the waiter recommended me to try the one on the picture, and I really liked it! I just didn’t know how the payment system works in Belgium. I couldn’t add tips on the credit card so gave some euros to the cashier. Hope the waiter got the tips.

Authentic Brussels pub with old-school staff, good beer selection and authentic food. Just the rickety interior alone is worth a visit.

Oh man….I haven’t had a sausage since I’ve been in Belgium! Added the bacon. Best place I have eaten in Belgium. If my wife was here m, she’d be pregnant tonight.
