One of the best alternative places in Brussels for years. FORGET IT since they are about to close down definitely as from 13/05/2023...SUCH A PITY!

Whilst visiting the Christmas Markets in Brussels, saw this pleasant looking bar quite a full bar. My wife and I decided to have a drink , she sat down and I went to the bar. It was busy and density of people waiting to be served was one deep at the bar. I waited made eye contact with some members of staff. I remained at the bar for about 10 mins at least. During this time space was made for me to get to the bar. I did notice people getting served as they walked up to the bar! I even raised my credit card up and indicated to two male staff I wanted to be served. I was completely ignored. I waited a few more minutes then left the bar. I thought about it and returned this time my wife ( white). went to the bar and got served almost immediately the density was slightly less but speed was so noticeable. I returned to the bar and initially ignored again, I moved and a young female staff member in beige top went to serve me. I explained I would like to speak to the manager. I expressed my concerned as a brown male I was ignored, ( only one black other person in bar). but white wife served very quickly. I asked if she did not believe me I was happy for her to view the CCTV to verify my version of events ( please still do). She was very apologetic even saying she was of person of colour, she may have been but not obvious to me. I explained it was so obvious people getting served whilst I was being ignored even after eye contact . She said I should have made it more obvious I want to be served than admitted she had seen me standing there too! If you are a person who does not want brown people in a bar visit this bar, it’s great. If you disagree with casual racism please avoid this bar. In summary I went to the manager expressed my concerns not an anonymous random complaint, please view CCTV. Your version event may be different, but if played to a group of well balanced people what would they view be?? Just to clarify I not looking for special treatment just a normal customer. I am not someone who bangs on about this stuff, see my reviews.

This is the best spaghetti I have ever had in my life!!!! The noodles were cooked perfectly and the meat sauce was so flavourful!

I really enjoyed this low key bar. Stopped in for a drink and they had a very good selection with about 6 beers on tap and many more available in a bottle. They have a good amount of seating and plenty of bathroom facilities. Don't expect fancy in this wood paneled place but if you want a relaxed place to drink a good beer I would recommend stopping in.

Amazing pasta, and for a good price! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the wait times. It took us 1.5 hours to get a table, with half of that standing waiting for a buzzer. I understand the restaurant is busy, but I think some interaction by the staff telling us of the wait times would have been nice instead of being left for ages. Love the ambieance of the restaurant. Would Defintley go back to have drinks and charcuterie. Tried the bolognese pasta, the spicy bolognese and the vegan bolognese and was overall unimpressed by all 3 which tasted very bland. Spicy was Defintley the best of the 3 with the vegan option coming in 2nd.

For tourists. No Belgian is welcome here. Service sucks. They cannot serve Bierkes correctly either. Shame.
