Easily the best waffles I've had so far. There are 2 options, Liege or Brussels. I suggest you try both. The Brussels waffle has a crunchy crust and a nice soft and airy interior. The Liege waffle has a softer still crunchy crust and a denser interior. Highly suggest eating here!

Had to wait for a while but it was worth it. It's one of the best places to try the famous waffle. They have liege and brussels types. I like the brussels waffle with chocolate, cooked strawberries and vanilla ice cream. Service could be faster.

Heard this place got quite busy so we had a reservation. I ordered a Brussels waffle with whipped cream/chocolate with a Speculos Macchiato. We also got a Liege waffle with white tea/elderberry. Really good waffle but the Macchiato was a little too sweet for my preference. The chocolate was a bit too overpowering as well but for the most part everything was delicious.

When you think of Belgium, chocolate, beer, and waffles come to mind. Here's the problem: you'll try all of them, but which store one is the best of each? For waffles, in my opinion, Maison Dandoy stands out, right next to the Grand-Place public square. They have two shops—one that sells only cookies and such, while the one we visited serves waffles, tea, and coffee. It's a three-story establishment with excellent ventilation on the second floor. The service is fast, and the waffles are incredibly fresh. They are nothing like the ones we had in America. The exterior is crispy, while the interior melts in your mouth. My waffle had chocolate, cooked strawberries and the whipped cream. The cream, strawberries, and chocolate are all delicious. You can tell they are prepared with care. The cappuccino was very tasty too. We tried both the Belgium waffle and the Liege waffle, and they were both great, but my preference leans towards the Belgium waffle. I highly recommend Maison Dandoy, do not get confused with all the options. The taste you're looking for is right here.

The best waffles I have ever had! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. I got the most basic one with chocolate. Highly recommend with a cup of coffee of course. There is also seating upstairs which is nice.

So far the best waffles I’ve tried in Brussels. Pricey but for me worth to experience at least once. I’m not a big waffle lover but I’ve taken a few visiting friends and family members and they all absolutely loved it. Can get quite crowded on the weekends.

Awesome waffles in touristy area. We tried both Brussels and liege waffles and both were excellent. Maybe wider selection of toppings would be nice (banana for example). The prices are decent for the quality. The staff was very kind and helpful.

Interesting way I believe that the most expensive waffle in town, and I didn’t feel any differences from others.. We pay 21 Eur for 2 waffle and 2 coffee, I mean coffees are also a bot expensive but for once - if you’re tourist - it’s okey, otherwise I dont know.. Biscuits are overly priced, I mean 9 pieces biscuit 5€.. I really expect to much things.. I mean nothing special, but nice to try. By the way our coffee was cold, and the waiting time was too long for small order, that’s why I will take another one star as well.

Overpriced waffle that came cold, matched with terrible customer service. There are other branches so try a different one. Definitely not what you expect for the price you pay. Also they say there is a tearoom but it was closed so they serve the waffles only for takeaway. For some strange reason they open at 11:00 so at that there is generally a queue. Drinks were tiny. Try a different one.

We came across a blog that mentioned this place serves the best waffles in Brussels and indeed it was true. The waffles were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I had never tried a waffle that crumbles when teased with a fork. I ordered the liège waffles with chocolate sauce and roasted hazelnut and it was an amazing combination. The chocolate wasn't too sweet or thick, personally I loved it. We also ordered a brussels waffle with strawberry confetti and whipped cream, and oh my! It was the best waffle ever! One must definitely try the waffles from here.

Fantastic waffles! They offer both Liege and Brussels waffles. Both were amazing, my fav was the lighter and crunchy Brussels type. The Liege is much more dense and chewy. Had mine with strawberries and creme with a wonderful cappuccino. Get there early as the dining area upstairs has very limited capacity.

The waffle and the chocolate sauce and the hazelnuts were cooked to perfection and transported me to a food coma. However, the cooked strawberries weren’t so good. The staff was very inviting and courteous. Overall a definite must visit place in Brussels.

We ordered the liège waffle because that was only available at that time(at around 7 clock, an hour before closing time), we were disappointed at first because we couldn't try the Belgium waffle but the liège waffle was pretty good, we order 2 plain with the chocolate sauce and speculoos spread crunchy. It was good but it is on the pricier side, but it was worth it. We also had ordered the hot chocolate (that was also over at the time but the person at the counter accidentally billed it and we payed, someone in the back mixed something and gave it to us and it was good but it was not made in the hot chocolate machine as it was supposed to be made in) The hot chocolate was 4 euros that is also on the pricier side. The chocolate used in the waffle shop was authentic Belgium dark chocolate which was amazing 🤩

A must visit when in Brussels. Freshly prepared, warm light and crunchy Brussel waffle. You just cant stop yourself from ordering second waffle...The ambience is cosy.. Service is a bit slow so be prepared however the wait is worth it... go early morning to avoid long waiting

You might find a queue, but when people line up for something it must be good. Maison Dandoy is not exception, just line up and wait to get the best Liege waffle you will ever experience 🧇

We ordered a sweet manneken pis with Brussel waffle. It’s the best waffle we’ve ever had. The outside is crispy and the vanilla ice cream really goes well with it. Plus the nuts liven the texture and it’s not too sweet. Definitely miss this waffle a lot 😋

Some of the best waffles in Belgium and possibly the world. We enjoyed our time. The waffles were soft with a slight crunch and very fresh. Incredible wipe cream and spéculos ice cream and topping. Service was great with a wonderful upstairs seating area that was for dine in only.

Amazing waffles, must try if you visit! There are two options, Liege and Brussels. We recommend Liege over the Brussels. The Brussels is lighter and crunchier, but the Liege is the most satisfying, its denser. The chocolate is heavy and exactly what we wanted, a very satisfying experience. A little bit pricy but totally worth it.

Very nice waffles, but the service was just bad! We waited way too long to be seated, and when we finally did, we waited even longer before they took our order. And our waffles came in very different sizes.. It could have been a nice experience if they took the service a bit more seriously.

Maison Dandoy in Brussels offers a very yummy waffle experience. I'm not normally a big fan of waffles, but I was really impressed by their range. The salted caramel flavour in particular stands out and is a must try. The downside is that the prices are on the high side, which may put some off.

Went here after visiting Grand Place for a take-away waffle. Let me tell you, this was one of the tastiest things I've ever had. I ordered the Liege waffle with brown sugar and whipped cream and it was PERFECT. The waffle was both crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside and was perfectly warm. There weren't as many topping options but I don't think I would have wanted anything else. I got it to go and ate the waffle in the sun and it was perfect. I can't comment on the drinks but the coffee smelled good and the hot chocolate looked tasty. Highly, highly recommend.

Nice place to get waffles, ice cream & coffee. The staff in the lower floor seemed welcoming, since we wanted to sit in, we went upstairs & had to seat ourselves since they were too busy to acknowledge us as they seemed very understaffed considering the crowd. After that we asked them to clear the table from the people before us multiple times, 30 minutes later, nothing was done. Since we are still in the middle of the pandemic, we would’ve appreciated them showing that they care about hygiene. We ended up cleaning and sanitising our own table because they still ignored our request. The food arrived late, which we expected since they were understaffed, but the shock was that the mug & cutlery were dirty from the guests before us. With everything going in the world & again, being in the middle of the pandemic, that is totally unacceptable.

The best waffles i have had so far! I was the last one in the queue to place order and it was almost time for them to close the shop, yet they waited for me to finish my food for another 10more mins! I was touched by their kind gesture! Would definitely recommend to try the waffle from there. Crispy and tasty. I bought speculous biscuits as well, which too were very good! :)

After trying several waffles while I'm Belgium these were definitely the best. The coffee was also good as an added bonus. When I ordered they accidentally made two of my order so they gave me the extra which was very nice of them. Big thanks to this shop for that, I was in heaven.

Amazing! We visited their tea room and the whole experience was very enjoyable - the waffle was remarkable and definitely something we will remember even after leaving Brussels. I didn’t expect that a waffle could be as great as this was, so it really turned me into a waffle fan. Be prepared for long lines because the place is very popular. We found it worth the wait.

Upset. Pre prepared waffles together with high prices. All waffles are prepared before and slightly heated before serving. We ate salted caramel and strawberry waffles. Although the sauces and fruits are top notch, freshly baked waffles are what we were expecting. 9 Euro per waffle compared to other waffle stores.

Having heard that this was a must-try in Brussels, and boy, it did not disappoint! Totally lived up to the hype and more! The portions were generous, delivering a satisfying and hearty meal. Highly recommended for anyone craving for Brussels classics.

Had to wait in a long queue to place the order. But it was definitely worth the wait. It was the lightest and the freshest waffle I've ever had. The first look of it did look a little disappointing because the ice cream scoop felt too meager for the price, but the taste held the reputation.

Decent waffle but everything else was surprisingly bad. I hate leaving bad reviews but I don’t understand the appeal. The service was rude and bad. We couldn’t choose our own tables. You pay at the till and half the time you’re ignored. The only water they do is bottled…and doesn’t arrive. The specaloo macchiato looks good but was genuinely really really really bad - its basically 2/3 cheap whipped cream and tastes absolutely nothing like specaloo. The toilets don’t have loo roll and the soap is in a ketchup bottle with paper towel everywhere. The waffle was OK but nothing special. So disappointed. Never going there again.

Maison dandoy is one of the most recommended waffle shops in Brussels, so my family and I had to try it during our day trip. The store offers both outdoor and indoor dining, but be prepared to wait around 20 mins to be seated indoor. Once we were seated in the tearoom, we ordered a hot chocolate and three Brussels waffles: strawberry, Lotus biscoff, and chocolate. They all tasted good, but nothing extremely special considering the hype. I enjoyed the whipped cream that topped the hot chocolate. Overall, the experience was good but not really a must-visit if you are visiting Brussels.

I cannot even emphasize how much this place is NOT worth the wait. I ate in the tearoom bc I thought the line was would be faster but it wasn’t. This place is a hard pass. Waffle was not even hot/warm , taste kind of stale , nothing special and totally overrated. Yuck yuck yuck, skip

Very good waffles, but they are expensive. Although nice staff, they are utterly slow and I am wondering : is it understaffed and/or underpaid employees? Is your system of placing people at tables the good one? We waited at least 30 minutes and there are 2 floors, the second floor was totally unoccupied... Invest in your employees.

Maison Dandoy seems to have a long history. I heard that and tried to go there. I ordered two waffles. But, though this is my opinion, I didn't find a difference between them and the ones which were generally sold in Tokyo. Perhaps, "The worth eating Belgium waffles in Belgium" may be able to feel maximum if you come there.

  • 4/5 Hong-Anh V. 1 year ago on Google
It was a decent waffle, but I am not sure it is worth the extremely long wait and the price… though the one with cooked strawberry is very tasty! Other than that, don’t order any drinks because it’s expensive for a tiny amount they give you!

  • 3/5 Tess, L. 9 months ago on Google
The food was really good, but we had to wait for almost 30 minutes. People who ordered after us had even gotten their food before we did. Overall, great food, but service could use some work.

We tried both types of waffles. We were so happy for both options so all of our kids were happy 😁. I can’t see which one is better, they are different but at least you can try both in the one place! The whipped cream on top was absolutely delicious make sure to get it too!

Maison Dandoy is one of the recommended waffles shops in Brussels. Even though we arrived early in the morning, so many people lined up when I arrived. I ordered a cappuccino, hot chocolate, and a Brussels-style waffle topped with chocolate. The coffee was so-so, and the hot chocolate was quite thick, but it was okay. The Brussels waffle was a bit crispy, buttered, and warm. It really goes well with chocolate sauce on top. Moreover, we got "Speculoos," spiced gingerbread cookies like Biscoff, together with the drinks for free. It was so good. Someone said it was a bit pricy, but personally, I love it.

  • 3/5 Kasha B. 2 years ago on Google
The waffles are not bad however for a price like that I’d expect a waffle a bit heavier and more flavorful

Best waffle I've EVER had. I only ordered a simple waffle with brown sugar because, it's true, they're expensive (7€). It's definitily worth it though! It melted in my mouth and there was just enough sugar. The staff is friendly too. They gave us a free biscuit (Very good too) while we waited for seats. 🇧🇪🍪

Probably still kind of touristic and overpriced, but out of all the tourist waffle places, I would say this is the tastiest. The chocolate was rich and creamy and the waffles had a very different taste compared to other street shops. Also the whipped cream had bits of speculaas in it which made it extra tasty!

  • 5/5 Shelby D. 2 years ago on Google
Loved the whipped cream possibly the best I've ever had. The waffle tasted like a crispy light waffle and i would do without the chocolate in the future

Disappointed by the coffees and the size are small for the price. It was dirty upstairs and the waffles are good but not worth the price unfortunately. I know better places that give a way better quality for the price (near the Grand Place)

Service is low and prices are high.... So 5,7 for a waffle I cannot say it is cheap but it is really expensive. Maybe because their brand is that big, that is why. I saw they have prepared already some and put it on a heating area. Seems like fast food restaurant (Mac). What you will not expect from 5,7 price range. So I ask straight in English if they could make a fresh one, what they hesitated and with some reluctantly they said alright. Heard a bit complaining from the staff, and it was not even busy, we were the only guest for take away (because upstairs was the café). I still cannot get over it that 5,7, and they have the balls to serve people finished waffles, because we are eating straight on the spot, we see them throwing away some of the waffles that have sitting there in the heated area. Makes us wonder what if it was busy, it will mean they will give them to people. Luckily, I ask for fresh one, and I cannot judge on those laying there. What I can say is that there is a crunch but not that much, there is some dough still insight so light but still a bit of body, the waffle is small like a hand palm size. Delicate flavor, what is nice, not over sweet. Some points reduction (beside the service) will be hygiene, it looks clean but when paying more attention it is quite dirty.

  • 4/5 Elie L. 2 years ago on Google
Won't deny that the place serves delicious waffles, but the service can be quite slow. Once you've ordered, you'll get a number written on your receipt and the staff would call it out when it's ready for pick up. The problem however was that they would only call it out in French, so you might want to pick up some knowledge of numbers in French. Almond ice cream on the Belgian waffles were interesting, and we liked the homemade ice tea because it wasn't too sweet. Be aware that prices are pretty high compared to regular waffles you can find everywhere around Brussels, but you pay for the experience I guess.

The place to grab an authentic Belgian waffle, the place has origins dating back to the 1800s. Side note that waffles here cost more than the more commercial waffle kiosks that you find scattered around the city.
