You step out of the city and into the woods. Although you can still hear automobile traffic anywhere you go, you are also surrounded by the trees and can hear the birds as well. There is an arboretum in addition to the woods. Highly recommended for a beautiful day for walking and seeing nature.

you would think it's a bit redundant to have a museum about forests next to one. but it's not. it's genius. visit it to find out why ☺️

(Translated by Google) Clear representation of the growth of the types of trees in the context of forest management. Photos and sketches of the original forest around 1770. Friendly staff. Entrance is free. Vriendelijk personeel. One of the best places I have seen in Belgium!!!, parking for free near the Hippodrome, free admission! WC available, museum is small but clean and with couple of interesting exponats, it is supplemented by the arboretum in nearby forest, paths are clean, forest is beautiful, fragrant, trees are huge and fascinating, many benches available, only a few people, we found even the playgrounds for kids and bare-foot paths... kids were excited!, and finally we found the Sonian Restaurant which is a little bit expensive but the staff was very kind and helpfull, overally this was an excellent day, we spent there more that 4 hours, I very recommend this piece of paradise near Brussels...

(Translated by Google) Super interesting museum. The children also loved it. Many stuffed animals. A detailed description of the origin and evolution of the Zonien forest and the arboretum. Extensive and visual information about the origin of the forest, tree species, bird species, etc. And completely free. Combine your visit with a hefty walk in the arboretum and your day is a success! (Original) Super interessant museum.

(Translated by Google) Small but educational museum. Young children love to see stuffed deer, wild boars, squirrels ... up close. The room with the history of the Sonian Forest is also extremely interesting. After a visit to the museum, you should definitely visit the adjacent arboretum of Groenendaal or take a trip in the beautiful Sonian Forest.

Nagyon szép kis természeti múzeum, a gyerekek imádták. Max 1 óra alatt megvan. Ajánlom mindenkinek :)
