This museum has so much to offer. There's a huge yard full of old industrial equipment. The ground floor of the museum shows off many industrial machines, they have a folder in English so you can read along and find out all about the items in display. Upstairs there's a large exhibition on water conservation, but unfortunately this is not available in English. It does look very interesting though, so I wish they'd offer English documentation as well. It's beautifully kept and staff are amazingly nice as well.

An oasis of calm in the busy city, this former industrial site retells the story of industrial heritage and how the city of Brussels developed over the past 200 years. Some excellent exhibits in the main hall and temporary water exhibition upstairs.

(Translated by Google) Very nice little museum to learn about the history of the Brussels industrial basin and its implication on the urban landscape. Discovery of several machines through 4 main axes: metal, wood, fabrics and food. VR experience (temporary?). 1h - 1h30 of visit if you read all the explanations. Did you know, for example, that NEUHAUS, a Belgian chocolate maker, was a pharmacist? 😉

I discovered this beautiful place thanks to a website that locates trees in Brussels 🌳🌲 (Original) Une très belle découverte en plein coeur de Molenbeek dans une petite rue pas loin de la chaussée de Gant. A fascinating industrial history museum. There are also some games for kids to play including their hand in basic carpentry, spanners etc. The huge cotton mill equipment are scattered outside, in the museum's yard and its possible to have a look at them even without entering the ticketed area.

Permanent collection is very nice although quite small. Nice to recognize brands you don't even know they are Belgian, a fortiori Brussels'. The temp exhibition on Le Canal d'Obolensky is really good.

I think this is a very nice, unknown museum. Not very big, but they do have a fascinating collection. Certainly the focus on work (conditions) is unique in Brussels for me. The exhibition has a very pedagogical structure, which sometimes makes it a bit exhausting. Could be more visual / show off the objects more. Nevertheless, it was a nice excursion. Definitely worth taking a look. Even if it is for the building itself

We were there for an event, that's maybe not the most topical way to get the usual mood, but the place is beautiful and the service very nice! I'll go again to visit it in a more standard way!

Absolutely worth visiting, great tour over industrial revolution in Brussels. Great pieces presented, not too much so you forget what you saw in the previous hall, just enough to get impressed and remember. Great place to visit with kids. languages though are French and Dutch. Free parking available in the yard of the museum.

Very important museum for those willing to understand the industrial roots of contemporary Belgium. Deserve some more refinement in the outdoor part knowing the importance of the topic and historical grounds of the city.

Today, many old machine tools trace industrial history or artisanal trades that still exist or have disappeared. As well as superb old objects which contributed to the comfort of the homes of yesteryear. To visit with pleasure and nostalgia.

Alongside these cultural immensities that want more to impress you, "La Fonderie" is this small unpretentious museum but of rare work of collection, development, and teaching. During the hour I spent in the permanent museum, I was able to discover so many aspects of the industrialization of Brussels in many areas, explained both in quantity and in quality. The temporary exhibition on laundry is bluffing as it highlights the importance of mechanization in freeing humans from arduous tasks. Certainly a museum that deserves to be better known! (Original) Le Prado ? L'Hermitage ?

(Translated by Google) Interesting museum. All you need to know about the social and industrial history of the Brussels Region through the museum's documents and collections. Located in the heart of a once heavily industrialized area, formerly known as Belgian Manchester, La Fonderie is dedicated to the history of work and industry in the Brussels region. Focusing on the human aspect, it adopts an original approach to industrial development in the form of themed temporary exhibitions that aim to connect history, current events and contemporary urban reality. Its important collection of machines and tools and the quality of the recently restored buildings are definitely worth a detour. (Original) Museo interessante.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful discovery during heritage days 😍 Curiously although the site of the Foundry is in Molenbeek, the most densely populated municipality of Brussels, it does not hear a noise and it is good to have a drink in this historic setting which for I have a certain charm. Very rewarding and informative visit!
