They have interesting collection, but I expected a little bit more. Museum is not so big, 1 hour to see everything would be enough.

Not a lot of content, the lace pieces are nice but €8 admission fee is a bit too much for what it shows

Nice small museum on three levels with an elevator. Most of the museum is dedicated to modern fashion with sometimes spectacular dresses like the "Medieval" from Paco Rabanne . On the ground floor is one room dedicated to the famous Brussels lace which became famous from the 17th century onwards In these times of corona the museum is very safe and only accessible when you have a QR-code and wear a face mask

It was very interesting, you can really see how the style evolved by comparing to your own clothes.

Really nice museum about lace. Nice exhibition and it’s located very centrally.

Beautiful little museum with lots of information about fashion from Belgium, and a small exhibit on lace making. There's not that much to see, but it was free to visit with the Brussels card, so that made it worth it for me. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you don't qualify for free entry as it's quite small. Still, an interesting little exhibition!

Small and quaint museum, this month dedicated to Diane Von Furstenberg. Good place to spend an hour or so plus the lace section which is interesting.

I had to run through the museum fairly quickly because of a time restraint. The gowns were beautiful to look at, and the detail on some was amazing. I was hoping to learn more about lace, it's history in Belgium, and how it is meticulously made. I don't know if that section was closed off, missing, or I just didn't see it.

It is a very niche museum but as a sewer and knitter I greatly enjoyed it. At 8€ per Adult it felt reasonable priced. If it cost much more even I (as clothes making enthusiast) may have not bothered going. The exhibit side seems to change every few months. We were there during Kidorama which focused on childrens clotjing over the last 100ish years. I thought it was done very well and looked at children’s clothes through an interesting lens. The lace section is exquisite and has some beautiful pieces and very good information and videos on lace making. I think we went through the whole place in about an hour.

Lace collection is nice but the rest was embarrassing, looking like a school exhibition, We spent less than 30 minutes in the museum and definitely isn't worth 10€ per ticket.

(Translated by Google) It's nice to see all the fabrics and dresses there are, but it doesn't interest you. You need some more interaction with the viewer, or tell some more story. The last floor is cool, where they have a table for children to make crafts with fabrics and learn to sew with bobbins.

The first Sunday of every month is free! Its cool but very small, so not exactly worth paying for. I saw the black colour exhibit (featuring all black clothes) it consisted of about 15 items, mainly dresses and took 10 minutes to see (with reading the description). The next exhibition might be larger but otherwise go on the first Sunday of the month!

The fashion is on point and we really liked it. The guide book is a disaster. No rythme or reason for how to navigate it all. But we appreciated the introduction into Belgian fashion and their support of local crafts people.

(Translated by Google) Nice museum about sewing and lace. Good if you want something quick to do. However, the entrance fee was relatively expensive given that it is a relatively small museum. You probably need to be interested right from the start if you want something more of substance from the visit. (Original) Trevligt museum om sömnad och spets. Bra om man vill ha något snabbt att göra. Dock var entré-kostnaden relativt dyr med tanke på att det är ett relativt litet museum. Extremely interesting permanent exhibition - worth spending an hour in the room which details the history of lace and how it’s made. They have a booklet which details each item and it’s worth going through the whole thing.

  • 2/5 D L. 2 years ago on Google
It was okay. There were a few rooms. One lace, one black fashion gowns and the (I guess permanent exhibition) was 2.5 rooms (2.5 floors). The employees are not so friendly, specially the woman who sits at the cash desk. She should be happy that guests come by (there weren’t that many -like 1/2 besides me), because the guests bring the money and „look“ that she can pay her rent, so she should def be happy for every guest. If you like fashion it’s okay, but would I recommend it, def not.

It is a small exhibit but they still had a lot of items out on display. Absolutely gorgeous! Everything was displayed amazingly and I have enjoyed walking around the museum. Definitely recommend!

  • 2/5 Anthony de V. 2 years ago on Google
The lace part is tiny, and you have to pull out numerous drawers to see the pieces. A pity, because they do have nice stuff. The fashion part isn't a museum. No history of fashion or so. Just an exhibition from (former) Brussels fashion school students. I guess that is interesting for some. I thought it was extremely pretentious but not delivering.

I went to this museum to see the Margiela display they had, and it was the only room I thought was worth it. The rest of the rooms have very bad lighting and even though they give you a booklet with the information of each design, it is impossible to follow, because it is unorganized and incomplete.

Interesting museum, infrastructure for lace museum needs a smalle update. Temporary collection was so extremely dark we barely could read the brochure.

  • 3/5 Oana C. 1 year ago on Google
Very small, luckily has 2 other exhibitions spaces and change themes every now and then and they can be visited with the same ticket. Enjoyed the lace documentary, learned a lot about it's history. A lot lot of lace items are in drawers. The ticket is 8 euros and the full visit can be done in approximately 1 hour.

A nice little museum. It’s worth checking what the current exhibition is. If it’s not interesting to you the lace exhibition is quite small and it might not be worth a visit.

This museum, is located very close to Grand Place, is dedicated to the various lace making techniques of Belgium, its history, its commercial value since ages, amusing facts, and so much more! What was very fascinating was, the way some of the intricate laces were kept under magnifying glass for us to enjoy and marvel the beauty of the artwork!!!
