€12 adult ticket. Very interesting and impressive building throughout but lacks ART and more pieces despite the fact they claim to have 52,000 pieces - which I’m sure were not on display. They have free to use audio guides in Dutch, French and English only. They also have free to use lockers in the basement floor and a small coffee shop on site right next to the the ticket desk. Why 2 Stars and not more? The alabaster exhibit was ok (in lowercase!) but lacked a hook or a story behind it. Simply showing random pieces of art made of alabaster doesn’t grant enough reason to call it an exhibition. It needed more passion and a story behind the pieces. The M exhibition was also random and lacked storytelling and connection. The other exhibition which I think is called L was a piece of rubbish. Not worth your time.

(Translated by Google) Must say the museum looks good. However, the collection was very disappointing to me, so much so that I was outside again in no time. What I think is good is that Leuven residents can visit for free on Thursday morning.

The museum is brand new and very well maintained. It was very interesting to see the parts about Leuven history and religion. Also, the view and bar at the rooftop (closed due to covid) was an extra plus to the whole experience

Amazing museum. With limited items, it creates wonderful experience. The special exhibition of Wael Shawky is really wonderful. Since I just done reading Roger Clawley’s books , the tour is just in time.

A very disappointing visit, to say the least. Is the stress laid by the museum on its vast collection while showing you empty rooms meant to be purposely frustrating? Anyway, the childish (and often silly) labels which accompany the few pieces on display, the questionable comparisons between past and present and the disastrous museography express a concerning scorn for the visitor. The main interest of the visit is in my view to give you a taste of a dystopian world, where you would no longer have access to art and would entirely depend on the erratic whims of curators... From this perspective, it is almost interesting. But I would rather just see the beautiful paintings, statues and other masterpieces which are hidden there! Please give them back to us!

We visited the museum with our (almost) 4yo as the museum was marked as very childfriendly. Although the museum is spacious, there is very little interactive stuff for kids. In itself the museum is impressive with several exhibitions running and we'll worth a visit. Free lockers are a great asset to store bags and/or valuables.

Mein Kunsthighlight 2023!

A great contemporary museum to visit, with large spaces and always excellent quality exhibitions. A must visit if you are in the area. The employees are all very kind and very professional. You will as well find a cafe inside the museum to take a break of you need.

Lovely Dieric Bouts exhibition. Museum has free lockers, toilets and cloak room. Museum building itself is not very structured, lacking proper directions.

Very modern yet ancient…you can spot a varied range of artworks here at display. If you are an art lover this place will surely impress you. Also do take the audio tour to learn about each display.

The museum was very well organised with numerous interactive exhibits. It told a story about Leuven and the pieces the museum had collected over the years. I'd highly recommend that you take it in if you have the chance

Museums should stick to what they are good at. I went to their M-id zommer event. It was expensive. The food was expensive. The toilets were expensive and none of it was worth it. Hey Tervuren is free, has better music, better food and free toilets. I'm sure the gallery itself is fine but if a fish wants to climb trees I would probably rate it poorly too.

(Translated by Google) We regularly try to visit a museum with our 9 year old son. It's free, fun to do with the kids and of course interesting for the parents. Most museums have a search available so that the young people have a fun assignment. The M-Museum is no exception. Friendly welcome, beautifully decorated and centrally located. Be sure to visit the temporary exhibition by Nel Aerts. (Translated by Google) Worst museum I have visited in recent years: 1) there is no clear walking route. There are actually two buildings with half floors and you always have to go up or down within a building. Totally unclear. 2) there is no cafe. If you want something to drink in between, you have to get your coat to the basement, go outside to find a room, back inside, back to the basement and then you can continue. 3) the staff will not leave you alone. Up to four times we were asked if we were looking for something, twice we even got staff behind us who asked us things. 4) the art is very disappointing, a lot of old and religious art, few innovations. 5) the atmosphere is dead, far too serious and many people walk around like zombies with the audio guides. This broom needs a big broom. Fat scraper. Vette afrader.

(Translated by Google) The building looks a lot like a concrete bunker on the outside. On the inside, by the way: large, cubic space with bare concrete walls. But the collection is beautiful! We have visited the exhibition of the Borman dynasty, three generations of sculptors who have created beautiful works, often commissioned by the Burgundian court. Beautiful and impressive! The permanent collection of ancient art is also particularly beautiful, with the altarpiece The Seven Sacraments - by Rogier van der Weyden as its highlight.

Interesting small provincial museum with a (probably too) wide variety of styles and periods and types of pieces. Wonderful building and obvisouly a good curator and the sheer mass of their collection make it great for a not-too-demanding audience (like yours truly) and a two hour visit.

(Translated by Google) After the 5-star tour of St. Peter's Church with all its beautiful works, this museum (which plays out Bouts and the St. Peter's Church experience anyway) was slightly disappointing for us. Of course they have beautiful things, Meunier, Bouts, ... but they are all drowning somewhat in the museum's layout. There may also be some more depth. For example, in the part that paid attention to Bouts, your hunger is not really satisfied. There could be a bit more in this.

The museum has a lot of collections, and it can not all be your cup of tea. But it was really interesting.

Great museum. The museum has an amazing mixture of contemporary/modern art and historical/christan art. Something for everyone. I've visited twice and I'll be happy to visit a third time whenever there'll be a new exhibition.

Well laid out, clear directions. Beautiful diverse collection of old and modern art. The view from the roof is very nice.

Came for the excellent "verbeelding van het universum" exhibition but truly enjoyed the permanent collection as well. Every theme is well presented and of manageable size, avoiding museum fatigue. The seven sacraments by Rogier van der Weyden was a pleasant discovery.

Loved the current exhibitions. The staff is beyond friendly. They are incredibly helpful and always ready to answer your questions. The audio guide is available in English. Definitely a place to visit in Leuven.

Pretty nice museum with a variety of old masters, renaissance, and modern works, with a very beautiful roof terrace! Just feel the student concession at €5 is a bit expensive as Leuven is a student town

Great museum, with the exhibition Imagining the Universe the paintings and other objects brought together show intelligence, knowledge and sensitivity by the organisers.

The curators really put effort thinking in how to connect the variety of the collection what is very admirable and I appreciate it cause it was kinda unexpected. I really enjoyed visiting it! Thanks

Very interesting the way that the history of Leuven is told. I strongly recommend it. The building is also beautiful, mixes the old with the new architecture, just like the stories inside. The coffee place inside is also pleasant but a bit expensive. Some parts of the garden were under construction, but we still enjoyed a bit of it and it was very relaxing. Tip: from inside the building you also have some great views of the city of Leuven 😉

A nice place with very friendly staff, an eclectic collection of art and decent entry prices. There are small tables for kids to sit and draw with a number of drawing pencils, while the adults go through the museum. Recommended

Nice, modern museum with some ridiculous pieces of "art" like a completely black canvas (?!). Standard ticket is €12. No student discount.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting, and I still don't know how I feel unfortunately. I'm not into art, and this museum didn't make me find the appreciation for it, though I did like the concept behind some things.

This is an excellent museum to visit. Of course temporary exhibitions vary and can be more or less interesting depending on what you are interested in, but in general it is interesting and the permanent exhibition is always worth it. The coffee shop is also worth it. Excellent accessibility for wheelchair users.

What is this museum about? It makes no sense. The exhibits were pretty boring, even with an audio guide it was not interesting. Don’t waste your time here, I would recommend better to walk around the beautiful streets of Leuven. I would not recommend this museum.

The building itself is rather nice inside when you see parts of the original building. It is also deceptively big as from the the outside it might not look like it. When it comes to the actual exposition itself... Last time I went I was thoroughly disappointed but everyone has different tastes so take a chance

Lovely museum. Mix of older works and modern art. Floor 0 (oddly first floor) has most of the older works. I absolutely adored the 10 works exhibition - curated by members of the public. Fantastic idea. Good bookshop and a nice coffee shop as well. Recommended

The exhibition in the Museum is overrated. I honestly dont know, why so many people want to visit the museum. The ticketing system is just horrible, even if you already bought the ticket online you need to wait in a long line because they doublecheck everything again for every single person at the ticket counter. Never experienced such a mess in any other international museum.

The items are interesting, I didn't get the theme if there was one, but some of the exhibits were cool, especially the smelling section, that was an intriguing part and made me think hard before checking what they really are. The building itself is also an interesting one; sitting in the heart of Leuven but set apart as it looks modern and out of place, but yet just right to show both the past and future of this vibrant university town. It's worth a visit if you're in Leuven. Opens late till 10pm on Thursdays, which is when I went there.
