Really impressed, great shops, clean, and has parking. The only downside is it’s just a little small in terms of total amount of shops and the parking spaces are tight. Overall I would recommend!

Another nice shopping centre in Chelmsford! Again, bright and airy, with a good selection of shops; Next, River Island, Superdry, Boots, Starbucks, Office, JD Sports, Sports Direct and many more. Nice new toilets, everything all at ground level. I visit here often 😊

Not too different from every other indoor shopping mall. Could probably do with updating but all the usual shops are there.

Wife and I decided yesterday (2/12/2021) to have a day in Chelmsford looking around and doing a bit of Christmas shopping starting out at High Chelmer, parked up and ventured down to the centre. Wife wanted to go into Primark first I thought I would take a seat outside being I think now the only rest station in the centre. I started to people watch and could not believe what I was seeing. New Covid regulations has brought back the compulsory wearing of masks to protect others as a priority, as well as the wearer, signs were at almost every store "Mask wearing is compulsory in this store" and at the entrance to the centre requests to wear masks. I was there for around 20 minutes and done a quick poll, it turned out one in seven people were not wearing masks, that is a big figure. When the wife came out of the shop she asked if we could go home, why? so many in the store just disregarding the rules on the door, and basically being selfish to all around them, so what was going to be a day out became a fleeting visit, when she got home she continued shopping, ON AMAZON. Personally I think if Centre and the shops are not willing to police the rules then they deserve to have falling sales figures, its not only people who don't want to wear masks and put others at risk (SELFISH) its also those who wear masks and do not want to be at risk, so in the end the minority starve the majority. I will add my Wife is on a drug for a symptom that reduces her immune system to nil, and she is on that for life.

Please note this review focuses on the centre of Chelmsford - not the mall exactly… As first impressions go, I liked the vibe and feel that Chelmsford have to offer. I’m giving 3 stars now but fully intend to revisit and experience the city in its fullest - where upon I’ll likely up my score to 4 or 5. I liked the sporadic displays of street art about the place and the contemporary feel that the town planners have clearly considered in the construction of the place. What’s more - I noticed that the town have clearly put up Halloween decorations for the complete Autumn feel - nice touch I say.

I feel like I'm here every day 😆 I like coming here to just window shop, seek refuge from the cold, shop at boots, shop at primark, or just people watch. It is kept clean and I like coming here. Friendly staffs and a nice variety of shops. I enjoy it here

Good choice of shops, these photos are on one of the side walls outside it shows what Chelmsford was like in the early 1900's, i hope they interest you?, please view photos with your phone on it's side (landscape), except photo number 5 which is (portrait), i wonder if anyone may know someone, from these people in the pictures, you may also notice there are photos from Marconi's as well, you will find them on the front of the Woolpack pub in Hall street.

Decent. Has some good brands like Next, River Island, Superdry, Office, Boots, Primark, Starbucks etc. Toilets are easily accessible on the market side. It would be great if they could attract Zara where Topshop used to be. Perfect location for another nice brand which is needed in Chelmsford.

Really appreciate the feeding room! It has comfy chairs which are great for breastfeeding. Curtains around the chairs if you prefer. Bottle/jar warmer free to use. Fund screen for toddlers and young children to play on. Changing area and accessable toilet. Fun and colourful pictures on the walls.

An active high street. Live weekend market. Almost all shop spaces are acquired. Street market. There is enough outdoor seating. Calm & peace environment. Must visit places.

Usual British town centre with big chain shops, cafés, quite busy. Went to the Range café 89 and was impressed with the very reasonable prices there and decent hot chocolate.

A good variety of shops. Very close to both the indoors market and the outdoors one. A great place to shop in.

A revelation for me. I haven't been for many years so was surprised by the amount of shops and facilities on offer. Shall revisit soon to further full peruse Chelmsfords shopping and eating. One thing that was a bit of an annoyance was parking...nit so much finding a space as navigating the entry to various parking. I'm sure another visit or two will sort that.

First visit. All was clean and tidy. Not best day foe shopping as the weather was awful. Made it a little quieter, but, on plus side got served everywhere really quickly.

Main reason for my trip to Chelmsford from Laindon was to eat Thai food sitting outside the indoor Market and to visit the two plant stalls. There is also an amazing cheese stall and a whole food stall, haberdashery and two stalls selling cards. Too many interesting stalls to mention them all including a variety of places to eat.

Its great to walk through it when it's dry, but when walking through the high street after or during a rainstorm it's not very fun at all. The paving stones are treacherous to say the very least, as it's the equivalent of walking on grease.

Good choice of shops, mainly clothing. Starbucks is central to the precinct. Dogs not allowed

Nice under cover shopping centre all the big brands and plenty of eateries too. Bright airy and pleasant. Situated next to a large car park in the city centre

Great range of shops from Food to clothes to beauty to even grocery stores. Shame the gaming stores closed down but that's fine. High Chelmer also has a Starbucks in the middle. High Chelmer itself is situated in the middle of town with Car parking there, but mostly car parking used for the market.

Small centre but good to keep you out the rain, has a next, primary Starbucks and a boots so keeps the wife happy

This seems a 🚶‍♀️-to place for 🛍🏬 with many out-there brands I recommend. There is even space for big promotions & they could even fit a brand without a unit like Starbucks or Sky. Not lacking stores like Meadows.

The new meadows by far for Chelmsford, plenty of decent outlets has reformed this corner of the high street.

Great place within the city centre if you want to shop. You have Next, Primark, Clarks, etc all in one place and you can as well connect the market in 1 minute from High Chelmer.

It's a shopping centre which has pretensions to be high end, but let's face it's a shopping precinct. The charm of Chelmsford has long disappeared, and I'm not that old.

Same as meadows shopping center it's amazing. I used to live in Chelmsford and many shops have closed down unfortunately but there is still a bit of magic to it. Love it

Good shops, good restaurants in the corner. Has a very good vibe overall. Only star missing is that it needs good washrooms.

I really like High Chelmer shopping arcade as there's plenty of choice of shops, it's under cover and the toilet facilities are well maintained. Nice central area to meet friends, have coffee or just sit and rest your feet. Plus it's very near to where I live, and the bus stops, and the High Street and the Indoor Market. 😊

Wasn't expecting this, a pleasant surprise to see refreshing mix of stores, vibrant ambience, good spread of Restraunts. Amazing walk by the river as well.

An unusual trip into Chelmsford to get a new battery for a watch which was accompanied by a visit to a few shops and a burger in the market. All was good. As normal the place was clean and at the time we were there it wasn't too busy.

Chelmsford High Street used to be a good place to shop, I went there today and looking around was just sad. It has died, not sure if this is to do with online shopping or the ridiculous rent the council charge. Bar, restaurants, gyms, coffee shops, bar, restaurants, gyms and coffee shops.

Good variety of "branded" and smaller specialised stores much like a North American shopping mall. Being undercover and within a very short walk of the covered market it's ideal for browsing on a wet day !

I've passed through here most days since 2017. When I first worked for the local prison, down the road from here, I would always pass through before going home to get new house items, clothes or shoes for home, or visit the nearby Odeon.

Unprepossessing, very down at heal shopping centre. Surely can’t be long before it’s knocked down. Big multi storey carpark attached. Ideal if you’ve got a tiny car. Otherwise the spaces are designed for days when cars were ^much^ smaller!! My mid sized suv had no chance of getting in the spaces. A neighbouring Range Rover took two spaces, not unreasonably.

Still has that village feel despite being in a city. The indoor market is a great place to pick up anything from deep fried spring rolls, vegetables, a variety of cheeses, haberdashery, home plants and more. Lots of shops around. Both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Ample free public toilets. A lovely relaxing environment for a day out.

We picked Turtle Bay for our Anniversary meal, after hearing it was good. We arrived and were greeted with a lovely atmosphere. Even better there was a 2 for 1 deal on the nice selection of cocktails. For starters we had the shrimp and squid which was delicious. It was the mains that let it down unfortunately as the jerk chicken was lacking in flavour and was dry which was disappointing as we were really looking forward to it. We ended up sharing the brown chicken, The waitress was really nice about it when we gave her our feedback.

Nice little shopping centre at the top end of Chelmsford. Starbucks available in the centre. Few mins walk from bus and train station. Great range of shops and restaurants and the market is also just outside. Great shopping all under one roof
