Haymarket Shopping Centre in Leicester is celebrating its 50th birthday in 2023 as it was opened first time in 1973. Surprisingly, it is quite mature age for a shopping centre. You can find a lot of things here. Besides, there is a spirit of Christmas in the air! Happy birthday, Haymarket Shopping Centre! Wishing you a lot of positive customers and successful business!

Haymarket Shopping Centre in Leicester boasts a diverse range of shops, though it tends to be bustling. Despite the crowds, the variety makes it a good choice for shoppers. I found the Birstall park & ride convenient, adding ease to the overall experience.

I tried to enter with my service dog, but was stopped immediately by a security guard that told me no dogs were allowed. He didn't even let me explain that my dog is a service dog. So I went to the high cross centre instead. At the high cross centre the security guards came over and fussed my dog advised on what shops were dog friendly. They then asked if my dog was a service dog and was told that I was even more welcome! Haymarket is a time wrap to the past. With staff that are very unwelcoming.

This Photo booth located inside Haymarket Shopping Centre Leicester has a terrible setting for collecting your £5 and producing a terrible picture with poor lighting. This is not advisable to be used for any formal photography. The photo booth will compel one to tap your card first before attempting to take any sample photographs, the photo booth is not a one size fits all Booth as it couldn't take a picture to cover my face and chest area properly. The flash light is terrible as all the sample photographs that were taken were too dark. The photo booth eventually forced me to print one out of 3 terrible sample shots or else I will lose my £5. To me, I felt cheated and I can only say it's a total rip off and I won't advise anyone to use this Booth.

This is a smaller shopping center compared to highcross which is nearby. It has some great basic stores. I found a bag store which stock some nice items with great deals. Unfortunately, the escalator has been broken for a while and it is yet to be fixed.

It's been here as long as I can remember. Good memories as a kid.. its car park is still busy and shops are packed. My favourite part of the year here is always at Christmas, beautiful. The main issue I have with this place is the toilets. They've always smelt awful.

Shopping is good at this location and lots of shops to explore. Different levels of shops including tk maxx,b and m,Poundland and a lovely perfume/ fragrance store on the ground floor with 2 lovely ladies who directed to the right place when caught short if you know what I mean. Anyway, nice experience and would recommend to all for your shopping needs…

Considering it age, it still looks modern ish on the inside. Lots of more of the lower end shops, Primark, b&m just to name a few. The higher end shops tend to be in the Highcross. If it didn't have smooth red brick on the outside, it would definitely look better . I dont remember there being any toilets, but I maybe wrong. There is a car park and the entrance is via Belgrave roundabout and Belgrave gate. Look for the signs, otherwise you could end up getting a ticket for going in a bus lane or pedestrian area. The car park and shopping centre are both wheelchair friendly with escalators from the car park. We paid £2 for two hours on a Sunday for parking. I hope this helps if your visiting the Haymarket or Leicester city centre. Please rate my post 🙂

Not been in the Haymarket for a long time so was very surprised to see a bm store went around with my partner as I'm in a wheelchair we spent over 50 pounds in there really enjoyed the place then went into premier man and spent over 80 pounds in there but was very hard work for my partner to get me around things to close together to get a wheelchair around but otherwise was very enjoyable.

Disappointing shopping centre. Several shops empty. Restricted variety of food shops. Small dedicated chips shop near the clock tower had marvellous chips. Well worth a visit. Other shops and discount shops mediocre. Car park on 3 levels with lifts.

Large variety of stores providing most of the things you'd need. It doesn't look fantastic, but that can be overlooked with the amount of stores it has, and the nice atmosphere it has as well, and it's kept quite clean. Overall, do recommend having a look around.

Good shopping centre. However, the biggest problem I found there was that it doesn't have visible floor maps and there are no customer support counters. I missed my train because I couldn't find the right help to exit from the door which would be closest to the train station. I asked six/seven people but it was of no help.

It's changed so much since I've been here. So many new shops replacing ones I grew up with. A lot of random shops and a lot of pound shops but some decent ones too.

  • 5/5 Felicity J. 3 months ago on Google • 32 reviews New
5 star because of the quality food there, also the shops are very varied. As you come out you can see the clock tower as well. Also there is many tonnes of good food there as well. The water stones is good for books as well. But the real 5 stars go to history. It used to look very good as well, in the 70s when Leicester was a lovely city with many shops. It looks futuristic as well as the good history.

Good range of shops available here. I use a mobility scooter and didn't have any issues with access to most of them. If you park in the Haymarket multi storey car park with a blue badge, parking is free. You just need to enter as normal and collect a ticket from the machine, then press the assistance button on the way out to talk to the parking kiosk operative. They will ask you to hold up your blue badge so they can see it, then let you out with no charge.

I give a 5 star ⭐ rating to HSBC bank paying in machines - Haymarket Leicester branch. I literally paid in some cash in seconds. I believe it's less than 30 seconds. Very efficient and quick and reliable way of depositing some cash. Well done!

Haymarket Shopping Centre is a premier shopping destination that offers a diverse and sophisticated shopping experience. With upscale retailers, a modern layout, and excellent amenities, it caters to those seeking a high-quality shopping experience. The variety of well-known fashion brands and luxury boutiques, along with the quality of the products, is a standout feature. The shopping centre's sleek and modern layout, friendly staff, and convenient amenities such as ample parking and dining options make it a pleasant destination for a day of shopping. The centre also hosts special events and keeps up with the latest fashion trends. While prices may be higher, the overall experience justifies the price point for many shoppers. Haymarket Shopping Centre is a top choice for those looking for a sophisticated and enjoyable shopping experience.

I didn't actually vist the Haymarket, but I did visit Heron foods yet again simply because it has loads of great products at stunning prices. Another great thing about this store is that you can always find something a bit different to purchase, different brands and items.

It opens at 9:00 am on Sunday ridiculous. Weekend is the time when most people go out shopping, instead of providing more services transportation is comparatively less on weekends. How ironical I it.....quite disappointed.

Leicesters shopping center with a small selection of some great shops including tk max, primark, matalan, bnm, Greg's, Holland and barrett, and a few more. Great to have a shopping spree

  • 4/5 Ahmed S. 7 months ago on Google
We have been going to this centre for over 40 years and must say many shops have come and gone. It is because of Primark that it is still thriving otherwise many basic bargain shops. I have used the Ryman store many times and am glad it is still trading as many stationers have closed down. The carpark is excellent as easy access.

Outdated shopping mall with all the rubbish cheap shops that attract all the pond life of Leicestershire. Funny for people watching but I would avoid. Side note anything you buy from Primark no matter how cheap, it isn't worth it 🤢

A very good shopping centre in the heart of Leicester. Anyone can catch a bus and come to this place. Every bus ends here. The hyper market is adjacent to the bus station. A large number of shopping options are available here. Many mobile phone shops are here. The main attraction is the clock tower which is near the market. Primark, McDonald, John Levi’s,, Zara , Skechers, Clarks , marks and spencer etc are main brands here in this shopping centre.

Old, not very nice, shops are barely used. There is one bag shop which has nice items I've got from there. There is an art shop that I've visited before which had the item I needed.

Only walked through it to use the car park. Car Park entrances were all locked when we returned for our cars at about 5.30pm on a Sunday evening. No signs anywhere.Tried each of the stair wells. Us and about 30 other people had to go up the car ramp to reach our cars. Wasn't impressed. Too unsafe when you have children with you. People still going up to use the car park too.

I have lived in Leicester most of my life i have seen so many changes in the haymarket over the years. Shops opening and closing down new onces open up. I have met so many people in the haymarket family and friends also complete strangers which is nice those people who i don't know want to start a conversation which makes Leicester a friendly place and a nice atmosphere overall. Thankyou Leicester.

  • 5/5 Sylvia L. 2 years ago on Google
Bit disappointing really. People aren't sticking to the social distancing and not keeping to the left of barriers / walkways. However, people are wearing masks. Primark very good that they have a one way in, one way out system in place and someone on the door monitoring the amount of people are going into the store using a "clicker". TK Max good too. Again they're monitoring the amount of people that go in store.

Shops all fine, however parking is a nightmare since barriers were put in 27 mins between paying and getting out of the car park with the queues. Always used haymarket parking, will be changing from now on..ok if you have half hour spare.

The shopping centers in the UK are any way dieing so this is why this is as well q not nice place anymore. Nothing interesting exist in this area. Fully optimized for renting out to large chain shops and nothing else.

Not bad for someone who wants to spend time looking at things but my 3 year old wasn't too interested in anything after the animals. Spent more time in the cafe than the museum but worth it if she was a little older and interested in things

  • 3/5 Rakesh V. 1 year ago on Google
No issues with the shopping centre itself. Appreciate the 24 hour pay on foot parking. There are no signs or no access to car park once the shopping centre is closed, only way we found to reach back to the car was to walk through the ramp.

Terribly unprofessional security on my visit today 15/2 at 15.00. Yes they were dealing with a challenging customer but “one day I’ll see you when I’m not working” really isn’t the answer! Who are these clowns you employ?

  • 4/5 Jeremy Griffiths (. 1 year ago on Google
Needs a revamp which apparently the council has now allocated the funding for. Big shops for Primark and TK Maxx. My mine complaint is how open the centre is and so can be quite cold in winter. You'll also find a B&M, Greggs, Mataland and a Rymans here.

  • 4/5 Oyindamola O. 1 year ago on Google

Dated but then again so am I. I have been going to the Haymarket for over 40 years and it has always had a variety of shops. At the moment it feels a little empty with the large cafe empty for quite a while now. Needs management to work harder in utilising the centre. Otherwise always use the car park as it is very central to the shops and banks.

Bright , well lit and cool area with plenty of stores. However this place always has a really foul smell in it and the toilets are always closed , when they are open you will find doors hanging off, wet stinky floors and the fragrance to match. Honestly , even if the toilets are open, either go to High cross if you have to or just wait til you get home! Very commonly filled with Chavs and the sorts of teens that have even been rejected from boot camp along with their little elf bar vape devices. The escalators are a 50/50 , will they be working today or not? You never know. You have more of a chance of the escalators working than the place ever being breathable or clean or having working toilets though. There is an elevator but it leads to tk maxx and primark and the toilets(which are mostly closed or damaged).. thats it. Everything else is closed. No cafe or nothing like there used to be.

The Haymarket in Leicester is quite small but has eating places, Gregg's, B&M, independent shops, Matalan, TKMaxx & Primark. In the middle of town opp M&S & Superdrug and the bus station 2mins away, oh and toilets upstairs

  • 4/5 Anthony H. 1 year ago on Google
It's a bit dated now and disappointed with the none automatic doors to get you to the carpark, especially as my wife is disabled and she is in the wheelchair, I had to back up and go out backwards and try and hold the door at the same time ,a little awkward to say the least.

  • 3/5 FusRowDaft U. 1 year ago on Google
A useful place to park in the centre of Leicester but let down by how difficult it was to get in and get parked. The ANPR system doesn't read your numberplate very well, it's very tight with a confusing layout and gets bottlenecked at the exit. Also the gate for the exit broke so someone had to come and let everyone out.

  • 3/5 S 1 year ago on Google
Always have to pass through here as I am in the city centre daily, it's okay. It's clean, sometimes smells funny though.. Toilets are always closed almost which can be very inconvenient. If or when the toilets are open they are often foul and smell bad and very slippery. Last time I saw them the doors were hanging off the hinges! Who went there? Tasmania?! Escalators do not always work but there are stairs and elevators. Overall a nice shopping area to pass through but could be improved alot.

Highcross Shopping Centre across the road has got all the glitz and glamour. Its where the young and the affluent go. The Haymarket however is showing its age. Its where the poor and downtrodden go, like me.

Visited to use the car park due to mobility issues whilst visiting the city. The car park had improved from my last visit 2 years ago. Many of the shops have closed and the the escalator was out of action. The lifts are small so social distancing is difficult. This place is work in process so will monitor in next couple of months.

👍👍 A few shops in this park. Very convenient, to name a few: Currys, Home Bargains, Next Outlet, Iceland Warehouse, Aldi, Pets At Home... Best time to go is the mornings. Most of the shops open at 8am and it's dead quiet, otherwise it does get really busy. Parking is free.
