Awesome food! Really a great place for some delicious south and north indian snacks and main course meals! The variety is indeed pretty huge and everything that we had was very good... The portions served were large and it was hard to not order something after reading it in the menu.. The taste palette was maintained as in the true Indian kitchen.. Highly recommended!

South Indian restaurant chain serving Indian delicacies. Great selection of south and North Indian foods with indo Chinese menu as well. Friendly and fast service reasonable price. The only complaint would be the restaurant wasn’t ventilated well, eating outside is preferred as it doesn’t hamper your taste bud with food smell before you get to eat yours.

One of the worst Saravana franchise I have ever visited. I can see all good reviews, but I am not sure why the good reviews are for - maybe they did not have the experience I had with them? In my experience - the only worst thing I have seen is, the server is serving the dishes with same hands with which he has cleaned the table. I did not like it at all. I think they should take care of that. Regarding the dishes, they were average. I have ordered Poori (I did not like the curry at all), Onion dosa (Good), Uthappam (Good) and Rose milk (Okay, good).

Good but heavy food! Definitely an authentic cuisine and nice Indian food. The clientele is mainly Indian which is a good sign. We had Dosa and filtered coffee since we were there for brunch. Food is tasty but the oil and spices make it heavy to digest for some. You might feel it a few hours later in the day. Ask for coffee without sugar because it comes by with it by default. I would go back again!

Went 2 times in October 2021: Asked some tips for Indian friends. It’s a south Indian cuisine franchise restaurant serving good Indian food. It’s one of the few Indian restaurant in Brussels recommended by Indian friends. Staff is nice although some server barely speak french or english. Dishes are referred by numbers and the photos in the menu have no numbers. There are several options organized by “sections” in the menu. So, take time to talk to the server. All options are VEGETARIAN and there are many VEGAN options. Mostly are spiced, so be careful when choosing your option. Service is quite slow because plates are prepared (for example plain rice) at the moment. Enjoy the festival of flavors and colors , worth the experience !!! Should arrive soon (before 19h) if you don’t want to wait. The restaurant is often crowded with waiting lines. Warning: at the your clothes will be impregnated by the food odors so put them to breath when you arrive at home.

I went a few times these past fews months cause one of my Indian friend recommended me and it’s always a pleasure to come and try new good. The rasam is amazing and not too spicy , the products are fresh and good. And as many people think it’s not too much spicy! Perfect at it is ! Cannot wait to come again and taste new more things ! 👌🏻😊😁

Drove 2+hours from Luxembourg to have decent south Indian food but it was not worth it. A small restaurant with just one steward to attend around 12 tables during lunch hour was difficult to watch. In fact a few customers helped themselves and self-serviced. From the masala in the dosa to Sambar, from chutney to vada, all the dishes were bland. Medu vada was crispy from the outside but undercooked from the inside. The chutney seemed like a ready made paste-like chutney. Filter coffee did not taste good too (either the decoction was not fresh or the ratio of decoction and milk was inappropriate) Overall, the food was not flavourful at all. I understand that Indian restaurants adjust the taste as per European standards but a chain like Saravana Bhawan should not compromise on the authentic south Indian flavours that they are known for. Also, please employ more people and upgrade your service. Saravana Bhawan in Paris is comparatively better in terms of food and service.

Always a delight to visit the Saravanna Bhavan out have always been a fan of the consistent taste all through out the world. Could not recommend the ghee roast enough . The service is quick and the staff is polite. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options available

Saravana bhawan has the largest menu around here. So many options to choose from and each item is good... the service is clean, friendly , and quite fast. The staff is ever smiling and easy going...and the waiting time is not big. I have ordered online many times and the quality is exactly same each time. Kudos to the chef. My only complain is the chutneys are cold and everything bit on a pricy side(or maybe I eat a lot? ) I would suggest plain dosa, vada, chapathy rolls or coffee.

I was very excited when visited Saravana Bhavan, Brussels first & definately last time. It was not as per the expectation and had very bad experience all together. I had ordered the mysore masala dosa and got simple masala dosa. When asked, waiter did not have any answer. I have talked with cook. Cook has accepted, we are not serving traditional Mysore masala dosa here. Also Sambhar was just normal dal. It was absolutely pathetic experience. I would not recommend to visit Saravana Bhavan in Brussels. They are destroying the overall goodwill. I have great experience in Chennai Saravana Bhavan and also in Amsterdam.

Trust me it was the only Indian restaurant that made me feel almost close to Indian dishes. I had tried having Indian food in Czech but I would never recommend one. Few points to note here about the restaurant: 1. We could see most (in fact whole) of the south Indian menus here and north Indian dishes too. 2. They were well prepared and brings in the essence the taste of Indian dishes. 3. We had normal masala dosa and mysore masala dosa which were good. 4. We had chole battorre was nice. 5. Vada was awesome had its crispness but would request if any way to reduce the oil content in it. 6. Sambhar idli (mini idli) was also nice. 7. The service personnel were gentle and most speaks Tamil, English and may be other as well. 8. The location is also okay. 9. They do not serve normal water, would request to serve them. 10. They have bottled water and beer kingfisher. 11. They have washrooms, each for men and women. 12. Coconut chutney was not thick. 13. Sambhar was okay. 14. They do have outside sitting hence may depend if they are service outside for wheelchair accessible persons. Otherwise no wheel chair accessibility.

I recently visited this restaurant (part of a chain). They had a large and creative menu packed with vegan and vegetarian options, and I was excited to try some new dishes. The interior decor is super basic, which gave off an affordable vibe. However, I was disappointed to find that the portions were smaller than expected, leaving me feeling a bit unsatisfied. I ordered some naan, but unfortunately, it was quite thin and more like a cracker than the soft, fluffy bread I was hoping for. The gravy in my curry was also quite liquidy, which detracted from the overall flavor and texture of the dish. Despite these shortcomings, the restaurant did offer fast service, which could be a plus for those looking for a quick meal. Additionally, the staff members were friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall dining experience. Overall, I would say this resto is an okay option if you're looking for fast service. However, those who are seeking high-quality, authentic Indian cuisine with larger portions may want to look elsewhere.

I heard a lot about this place and finally decided to give it a try since I was in the vicinity. I must admit, it is as close as you can expect to what you get back home. The taste was delicious 🤤 and the staff courteous and polite. The service also quite fast. I ended up eating more than expected. PS. If you are craving south Indian food then definitely try this place.

So, after my last review i went there again to see if there are any improvements. I tried daal vada and masala dosa with cobra beer.. ofcourse the beer was good but not great experience with vada and the dosa.. Vada was not crispy at all and the masala in Dosa didnt have any tadka or the usual dal etc .. it was plain mashed potato in turmeric... taste was average.. the staff also were careless or not trained. I asked for Dosa to be brought later so i could finish my beer or order 1 more beer but despite instructions, the dosa was brought in soon, so i had to give up on the idea of an extra beer and had to eat my dosa.. and none of the staff came to check if i needed anything else. May be thats how the owner wants to run the business.

Ordered Masala Dosa,Cashew Polao, Mango lassi, Falooda, Gulab Jamon 👌 One of the best indin restaurants in Brussels in my opinion. Mango Lassi can be little better. It tasted more milky than mango. SpicyDosa is good enough for spicy lovers. Mashed potato goes perfectly with the spices. I personally didn't liked mint chutney it did not taste or smelled minty and too thick. But Dal with Dosa won the game. Tomato chutney missing salt. Cashew Polao was best 👌 Faloda missing Sabudana but not bad at all ❤️ Golab Jamun was warm not too sweet just perfect 😍😍😍 Perfect place for vegetarian Looking forward for next visit ❤️

As an Indian when you look for authentic indian food and find it , there is no greater feeling. This is home on a plate. From the masala dosas...to the thalis and filter coffees. The taste hasnt been modified to non spicy levels and thank God for that.!!

I traveled from Aachen to Brussels to have a proper South Indian meal. Idlis was on point and soft, served with some delicious chutnies. Although I'm a bit disappointed with the dosa and chana bhatura, but okay since we're in Europe. You can't expect proper and authentic outside of India. Despite that they are doing a great job, hence 4 stars - leaving some room for improvement. Hope the food tastes much better the next time I visit.

Very nice place for vegetarian dishes. I ordered a South Indian meal (South Indian Thali) and a starter. Portions were really good and the taste was authentic if you are a foodie trying out new dishes then it’s a must visit

Saravanaa Bhavan is truly a saviour for so many Indians that are settled abroad. We recently visited the one located in Brussels and our South Indian food cravings were taken good care of! We ordered Masala dosa, Idli vada sambhar, Onion Chilli Uthappam, Madras filter coffee and Masala Chai. Everything was top notch! Even their thali is very popular among regulars. We wanted to try their Mirchi bhajji but unfortunately we learnt that it’s available only on weekends. Highlights: Masala dosa, Idli vada sambhar, Onion chilli utthapam, Madras filter coffee Connect with @foodies_in_mog on Instagram/YouTube/TikTok.

No matter where in the world you dine at Sarvanaa Bhavan, the taste is a constant. Made extra effort to visit this location in Brussels which was not in the way of our scheduled activities while visiting the city in September 2023. And it was totally worth it. Our top picks were of course idli, dosa and sambhar which come with three equally mouth-watering chtuneys. But even chole bhature and Indo-Chinese street food was delicious. Love the filter coffee.

Bestes indisches Essen. Große Auswahl. Für mich ein must eat, wenn ich in Brüssel bin. Das Ambiente ist vergleichbar mit einer Imbissbude. Ist aber egal, weil der Rest stimmt.

Pros: 1) The dosas were very good 2) The sambar has tons of flavor 3) The staff customized our order to what we liked 4) The Falooda was amazing Cons: 1) The waiters have us the wrong food multiple times and often switched the order with the table next to us 2) Some of the less common food items took up to 35 minutes to come to our table like the kesar halwa 3) The cheese dosa wasn’t filling whatsoever even for 3 year old Overall, the Manchurian and the idli were also amazing in fact we ordered the veg Manchurian 4 times after that. Would recommend!

We had a South Indian Thali. Sambhar was very tasty. Meal was totally 9.5/10.Half point less only because the sweet dish(kheer/payasam) in the meal was very watery and no Semiya in it. Mysore masala dosa and channa batura was yummy. Dosa could have been slightly crispy. Overall beautiful, tasty lunch. I am sure there were other great eats but we could only manage to taste these 3 varieties and we left the place totally happy and satisfied.

Being a South India I always wanted to visit here to try some South Indian delicacies and finally visited and food was really tasty. We ate Ghee mini idly, Vada sambar, Milagaipodi Masala Dosa, Onion Rava Masala Dosa. The food was delicious and sambar and chutney was tasty and fresh. We finished off with Filter Coffee which was good too. Overall loved the food and would definitely come back.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Brussels ! 100% vegetarian. The menu offers what you would typically eat in Indian on a day today basis. It doesn’t not offer refined, actually judging the façade you wouldn’t think it’s an interesting place to hit, but it actually is! Best proof is that Indians guests usually outnumbers European ones 🙃

Dosa is a must try. Very Crispy and Authentic Indian taste. Chutney and Sambar are really delicious. One problem in most of the indian restaurants in EU, they are not maintaining the toilet and washing room. It is very ugly and Very Bad. This hotel should definitely need to make it clean.

Sarvana Bhawan is your place to be if you don't cook south indian food at home and crave for quality flavors while in Belgium. I've been there multiple times and have never been disappointed with south Indian dishes. Must try- Mysore masala dosa, it's super-spicy 🌶️🔥 You can ask for additional sambhar and chutney as well. 😬. Things not to risk earing is Chinese and north indian food- it's not as good as you may find in an average restaurant in India.

  • 5/5 Priyadharshni R. 3 years ago on Google
Authentic South Indian food and it has all the flavours but it's not as spicy as you would make it at home. But this understandable since the locals cannot handle that level of spiciness. I think that the quality is lower than that of the Saravana Bhavan in Paris or London but the taste is still good and I'm just grateful that I have at least one restaurant that gives me mu cuisine in Brussels. The cook and the manager are from Tamil Nadu which is how they keep the taste so authentic. The North Indian cuisine tastes good too but of course, it's the south indianised version of it. I found it weird that they only hired people of brown skin colour cause they're not even South Asian, they're Arabic. They don't speak any of the South Indian languages so they could have just hired anyone.

Avoid! I’ve ordered on Uber, waited for an hour and while being in front of my house, the order got cancelled. They cancelled it 2 minutes before it should have arrived. They are very unprofessional. I called them and they said: no problem, sir, you order again, we deliver fast. Avoid!

When you order from Saravana Bhavan on UberEats their service is pathetic. They even insisted me to speak in Tamil which I do not know :) The quantity of food drastically reduces when you order online. South Indian food tastes good but North Indian is very poor, a big NO. They are unprofessional, food quality has gone down significantly in the last year or so.

Place to be if you like south indian food. HSB has chain of restaurants around the world and this place lives up-to the reputation. Great taste. Dosa and the mini idli is so good. Stick to the south indian menu. North indian menu is just ok. Satisfying!

In general food was super delicious and normally I would have given 5 stars, however I ordered vegan dosa, due to my lactose intolerance I assumed it would be a good choice. I told waiter about my allergy and he confirmed there were no dairy products in the dish and sauces. However, after the restaurant I started to get my symptoms and rash on my skin and other unpleasant side effects. Once intake dairy I suffer for next few days , even a week. We went to the restaurant 3 days ago and I can still feel the effect of badly-prepared food. I cannot say if there were a cheese in the dosa, milk in the sauce or they have mixed ingredients the same spoon (both vegan and non-vegan). Huge disappointment, I feel cheated. Tip for the restaurant: say they truth in your menu and respect it accordingly. Some people don’t choose “vegan” because of fashion or moral choices but because of their health problems.

😠 Had to wait 30 minutes for a simple burger order. The burgers are just lying there, ready to be served, but staff is generally not capable or willing to pick one up and lay it on a platter.
