Update of my history with this hospital. The below email sent on the 8th of april 2023 to the chief doctors and till now we didn't receive any reply for our emails. They refuse to answer by email. Gerges Abi Saad (passed away in the 17th of January 2023, room 570 -Erasme) Our last email is the below: "To whom it may concern, Kindly note that after waiting several months, we need the report (decision) of the chief doctors and the arguments of Dr. Baudoux to be sent by email concerning our questions and complaints concerning the nursing staff. We need to have answers for the following questions: 1- Why they did not notice the infection in my father's kidney knowing that he was complaining of burning sensation during urination, severe low back pain, and blood in the urine for several days before the endoscopy? 2- Why there was no communication between the doctors working in the same team and treating the same patient? Why Dr Baudoux didn't inform the urologist about my dad's infection? 3- Why did the urologist perform the endoscopy that was very painful without anesthesia, knowing that this procedure caused injury in the urethra. Why they did not do an echography and a blood test before doing the endoscopy to avoid the spread of the bacteria in my father's body. What was the exact cause of sepsis?? 4-After the operation we called the nurses to be informed about any news concerning my dad and the operation and the nurse told us that the operation was ablation of infected kidney and urethrotomy. Why urethrotomy?? Is that true?? 5- Why after the ablation of his infected kidney my father was transferred to a normal room instead of intensive care unit knowing that he was suffering and knowing that he has previous cardiac problems? 6- Knowing his delicate case, why did they transfer him to a room with an obviously sick patient? The other patient was severely coughing and we called dr Neuveux several times to ask him to transfer my father from this room. 7-Is my father's pulmonary embolism due to this rsv virus infection?? 8- Why the hemodialysis was performed through AV fistula from his neck for more than 1 year and why they did not find an early solution for his arm arteriovenous fistula? Are the blood clots that were in his AVF neck also the cause of his pulmonary embolism ? 9- My father lost a lot of his weight because of lack of nutrition and we were obliged to bring food for him because the staff in the hospital forgot to bring him food especially after his return to his room the days when he was doing dialysis. 10- What about the decision of the hospital management concerning the night shift african chief nurse who left my father on the ground for more than 15min and she was screaming and pushing him because he fell down while he was going to the bathroom and he was unable to stand up alone. She put him in bed and locked the bed rail and she moved away the emergency call bell so he cannot reach it ??!! 11- Finally, in my last conversation with Dr Baudoux when my father was in the hospital, he explained to me that the water retention in the lungs and the lack of oxygen were due to the rsv infection and not the heart failure. Did any cardiologist consult my dad during his stay in the hospital for approximately 40 days?

Dr Cappello is the worst doctor ever. He did a surgery that ruined my life! Turns out (via tests from another doctor) I never even needed this surgery! We are humans and we're not to be experienced on! No morphine given to me post operation (Dafalgan 1g only) and no follow up! He removed part of my frst rib, some muscles and I had a tube in my lungs. Now I can't move my left arm without pain. Edit: 2 years post op still in pain. Worst decision in my life Edit 4 years: I want to end my life as the pain is unbearable 😭

Patients are malnourished, complaining about loss of weight but no one is doing anything. Administration is awful, medical file is often lost, chambers are often switched, and every floors are at war with each others so they try to push their agenda and health is no longer a motivation. Plumbing is awful too : dated, making noice during the night and tap is rarely correctly functional. Every sectors are subject to avarice and they try to economize on every single cheap thing, making this hospital inhospitable. They also don't respect patient's treatment, often missing medication time even for life saving medications. This is pure negligence. Avoid, go anywhere else. If you have to go there, be nice to workers, they are victims of that system, like you are.

I have mostly positive experience within the hospital and the people that work here. The explanations and the directions are quite straight forward, patients should find their way easily around. Not at all affecting the functioning of a hospital, but I do not understand at all the lack of interest in taking out the Christmas tree and Christmas decoration out of the front door in the middle of the month of March.

If I could give 0 stars I would have done without hesitation. Bad hospital, people can't do their job.

After 5 hours of waiting in the ER, I finally got the attention of a staff member to then learn they had thrown out our file thinking it wasn’t needed… so we were waiting for no reason. By the time we saw the doctor, they made us stay the night since it was too late for testing and did not offer us any food, drink or anything for the inconvenience.

1/ very unfriendly Nederland speaking. English speaking. Only speaking French even the country official language is Nederland. 2/ not a single person helped me to speak in Nederland or English when I am a belgium tax payer. 3/ I live in Gent. But I urgently needed to help my family who was living Brussel. Very shameful when entire hospital do not speak international language English nor the official language of belgium as Nederland.

The info desk is not able to help you if you speak Dutch. Only French and Arabic ? So far the slogan: 'everyone has the right to medical care'

The ''route system'' used is not simple to understand. They should have matched route number with the floors, because the beds numbers system are arranged according to the floor's numbers. Other than that, it really depends on the doctor you go. Some are always 20min late. :P

I didn't find the 0 star for the urology department, especially Ms. "Moyson Julie" who followed my sister, doesn't explain anything and can see clearly that she doesn't like her job. To flee without hesitation. And in Plus it's a university hospital so it dares to let the trainees train on your body even for serious cases.

Impossible to find your way! I asked a pregnant woman for directions when I pulled into the parking lot. Then I had to register, go around the buildings, be received harshly by the staff,... everything was lamentable! When I was finally able to collect my car, I met the same woman again in the parking lot, she too had waited so long in this nameless chaos... her child was 3 years old.

Excellent hospital. I went to IVF center at route 166 and people were professional and friendly. Although I didnot speak English but nurses were patient to listen to me. Gynecology doctors were nice and they had wonderful treatment 🍒🍒

Hospital resorts to extortion. “He needs this surgery but you have to make a deposit of $16,444 before we make that happen” “The longer it takes you to make the deposit, you are endangering his life” Very sad situation. I guess no oath here to save lives Don’t spend your vacation here for any reason

Despite the fact that this is a busy hospital, you are not a number. There is a very appreciable human side. The doctors there are very competent, attentive, and very professional, and the nursing staff are very efficient. Lots of mutual help and solidarity. In addition, in the emergency room, they take care of your case very quickly. In 2007, they quite simply saved my life, and I thank them for that.

The awful attitude. Refuse to speak Flemish. English… they never heard of it. Which is ok. But Flemish? Last time I checked it was an official language here. So I couldn’t receive help because I don’t speak French? Disgrace and racist.

There is nothing good in this hospital, especially the orthopedics department, especially Dr Georgia Antoniou, my father is being followed for his severe shoulder pain and after 5 months of severe shoulder pain again nothing has changed, the doctor in my opinion is incompetent and would be better to return to where she did these studies... Waiting time too long for appointments. It’s nonsense what’s happening to us with health in Belgium falling… we no longer know how to treat ourselves properly, doctors who only think about money… or management who only think about money… If you see nothing moving go elsewhere. Thanks a lot to you. Liridon

Good morning, I strongly advise you not to go to gynecology, you are received there as if you were at the butcher's shop. I wanted to check that I didn't have endometriosis, I came out crying, I was really shocked that we could be considered a piece of meat.
