This
hotel
does
not
meet
the
Van
der
Valk
standard
in
my
opinion.
It's
an
old
hotel,
with
terrible
soundproofing
(I
could
hear
the
people
in
the
room
next
door
walk
and
I
could
also
hear
each
time
someone
was
closing
a
door
in
the
corridor
or
speaking)
and
old
furniture
in
the
room
(looks
like
late
1990,
early
2000).
While
booking
on
the
Van
der
Valk
website,
I
asked
for
a
quiet
room
on
the
highest
floor
with
a
queen
bed
(not
a
twin
bed)...
and
I
got
the
opposite.
The
lady
at
the
reception
didn't
even
mention
that
they
could
not
meet
my
requests,
I
had
the
surprise
when
I
got
into
the
room.
So
I
got
room
405
with
a
twin
bed
(I
can
cope
with
that),
on
ground
floor
(view
on
the
parking,
the
playground
and
a
terrace,
so
no
privacy)
and
it
was
noisy
(there
are
train
tracks
50m
from
the
hotel
with
a
train
passing
every
30min,
a
kid
playground
and
road
noise).
Also,
I
highly
suggest
to
rethink
the
lightning
in
the
room.
Installing
motion
detection
lights
with
a
timer
in
the
bathroom
is
utterly
stupid.
The
lights
switched
off
3
times
while
I
was
in
the
shower...
and
moving,
obviously!
To
switch
it
back
on,
I
had
to
exit
the
shower
and
move
in
front
of
the
sink...
Really
dumb
design.
I'm
a
regular
customer
of
the
Van
der
Valk's
hotels
but
I
will
not
come
back
to
this
one
in
Beveren.
