Myself and friends spent 4hours here and loved it, especially the aquarium and butterfly section. We had a lovely lunch inside a restaurant where the building have one side that was a clear window you can sit by and watch birds nearby. Food was nice and price was reasonable. I recommend to visit this place especially on Mondays where most exhibitions and galleries are closed. The entry ticket for the zoo is €28 but cheaper online if you know when you are going. Toilets here are clean. Gift-shop by the entrance/exit could have a bit more items associated with sea creatures. Very happy to have come and explore this zoo. There is even a few play/cave areas for the kids.

Très surpris de voir la discrimination pratiquée par la ville d'Anvers qui permet aux véhicules immatriculés en Belgique et au Pays-Bas d'aller et venir mais dans notre cas verbalise notre véhicule français (Essence/Euro6) pour pollution car nous ne nous sommes pas inscrit sur un site dont personne ne nous a jamais parlé. Bref, aucune tolérance, pas d'avertissement, sanctionné immédiatement pour seul motif que nous ne sommes pas belge et que du coup il fallait deviner qu'une inscription du véhicule était nécéssaire. Je ne peux que conseiller au zoo d'Anvers d'avertir les touristes au guichet de cette règle absurde afin qu'ils régularisent leur situation tant qu'il en est encore temps.

Not small and not to big. It's the perfect size for a zoo where you can view it all in one day with the kids or with some friends. The zoo keepers are really nice and take a lot of care for the animals. Everything is clean and well organized. Enough trash bins spread around the entire zoo. Everything in the restaurant is compostable/biodegradable. This zoo is very family-, gender- and eco- friendly.

The favorite zoo of our little one. She used to go there a LOT from age 1 to 2, during that time she improved really a lot her visual knowledge on animals and became extremely interested in animals since then. We loved the butterfly area and aquarium and reptile house. It's a comparably small but amazingly organized zoo for toddles. Personally I think it is suitable for kids from 1-4. Now the zoo installed two new playgrounds near the exit but a pity that the tiger area has not been open yet.

Maybe we went there with a lot of expectations but we were not impressed. The gardens and facilities are overall good but.. it feels like the animals are cramped in little space, and so close to the noise from the trains in the central station and the city buzz. Yes, you will see the animals - but it looks like they don’t have any of the privacy they should be given in zoos these days.

It was pretty fun but costly ticket! We spent 4 hours in the zoo because it was €30 so we wanna make sure we make use of the ticket fully! It was rainy the whole day so it was not crowded. If you are a youth, you may purchase your ticket from the gift shop.

They are doing some renovations now (late May-2023), so a few exhibits are closed, but I had a fun time here. The zoo is surprisingly large. I went on a weekday, and there were a fair amount of people, but the layouts of the exhibits made it feel less crowded. The butterfly room was really cool. I almost missed it, but ended up spending 20 minutes in there watching the butterflies around me. Definitely try to seek that out.

Expect the reptiles' and the butterflies' rooms to be very humid, but it's still far from unbearable. The visit of the whole park lasts around 3 hours if you follow the map you're given. The zoo is located right in the center of Antwerp next to the central station. Overall the zoo is beautiful, and they make great use of the limited space. However don't expect to walk around for much longer than 2 euros, which is not too long considering the steep entry price. As a student (or in general) it is probably worth buying the yearly subscription as this also gives access to Planckendael and you can enter the zoo an hour before opening time (well worth)

A small zoo, in my opinion not the nicest to visit but it's easily reachable for anyone as it's in the city center just next to the train station. Gardening is nicely done throughout the zoo. I thought some animals could use some more space, but I'm no expert in keeping wild animals ;) The butterfly garden is probably my favorite place in the park. There is a bicycle parking on the square right before the entrance. You will also find lockers there if you need any. The square is accessible for anyone and gives a nice view on the train station and feels very green because of the (palm) trees and plants. A big contrast with the square in front of the station and nice if you want to sit down in a less busy place.

2 hours to walk without sitting in the cafe's. So if you go there, take a whole day to spent there your time. Butterflies were incredible.
