This zoo is relatively much smaller to the zoo that you most probably had ever visited, but this zoo is definitely has its own unique collections that I've never seen anywhere else before. There are many weird exotics insects and animals collections here, and they are definitely interesting to see and study. Definitely worth coming here. Especially good for family visitors!

Weird and unexpected zoo in Tilburg. It's mainly small animals. There's some shows and expositions they do during the day as well. There's a bird show, and a reptile and arachnid show where you can hold a snake and tarantula. Ticket prices are pretty cheap and it's worth giving this place a visit. You can also adopt some animals and support the zoo a little more too.

Easy to find. Right beside the Antwerp Central train station. Very spacious zoo with loads of interesting animals and sea creatures. The layout was is fantastic with nice garden landscapes. Myself and friends spent 4hours here and loved it, especially the aquarium and butterfly section. We had a lovely lunch inside a restaurant where the building have one side that was a clear window you can sit by and watch birds nearby. Food was nice and price was reasonable. I recommend to visit this place especially on Mondays where most exhibitions and galleries are closed. The entry ticket for the zoo is €28 but cheaper online if you know when you are going. Toilets here are clean. Gift-shop by the entrance/exit could have a bit more items associated with sea creatures. Very happy to have come and explore this zoo. There is even a few play/cave areas for the kids.

You can really get a sense that consevation is the focus of the zoo and the zoological society. The information boards for all the exhibits is very clearly formatted and consistent throughout highlighting the category of endangerment that the animal is. I really liked the route layouts and one way system. It helped us plan the flow through the zoo in such a way that was not felt rushed and allowed us to cover all the areas in around 4 hours. There are many areas to stop off for a picnic and there is good avaof food throughout. I like the idea of the water refill station. Staff were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We also found them to be very polite. The gift shop is very well stocked with a wide range of items and it actually feels good shopping there because you know the proceeds go towards helping the work of the charity. Overall a great day out and will definitely be returning After reading some positive reviews I decided to visit the "Zoo". I deeply regreat and the reasons are: - I feel terrible sorry for the animals that are in small rooms, with no light or ventilation. - 3 crocodiles in a small room with a small " 2 square meter water pool. - the worst is that they mention 1,5 meter diatance and the place was unbeliavable crowed (never even possible to give one meter distance) - We decided to leave when one of the rooms was so crowed that we could not walk and the WC was exploding with people almost running over each other to get in and out.... - In covid Delta times, it is unbeliavable that there was no time slot... They kept letting people in... Before we left we spoke to the girt at the entrance and explained the reason we were leaving.. she simple looked to us and said: " I understand" Dont put your money there in respect of the animals and even worse no respect for humans...

It's a very interesting and beautiful place, they have 2 shows and I saw both: a bird show and a snake/spider show. It was verg amusing and the staff is very kind. It's not a big place so you've seen everything within a few hours. But they have a widd variety of animals (some in a more animal friendly space than others) but very nice overall. They also have a lot of food to choose from for a reasonable price!

So sad, all those animals confined, held captive. Only for human entertainment. The animals belong in the wild, not in a cage or chained to a pole or held by many hands.

(Translated by Google) Nice pet shop, in terms of fishing gear unfortunately less than before. Pity. Vreuger everything better. Certainly the boilies that they have now. Hard as marbles. 2 times I tried to put a bolie needle through it and the 3rd time the needle was through my finger. Can therefore no longer play the piano. They gave me a parakeet as an excuse. I let him go after 3 days because I couldn't handle the screeching anymore. Was dead 2 days later in the sink (Original) Leuke dierenwinkel, qua visspullen helaas minder als eerst. Erg jammer.

Is really worth admiring.

(Translated by Google) The Heikese Kerk in the center of Tilburg can, as in other cities, be called the Grote Kerk. However, that name is not in, not even the official name of the St. Dionysius Church. Popularly speaks of the Heikese church to avoid confusion with the church of the same name in the hamlet of Goirke. That church there is also dedicated to Saint Dionysius, but is again called Goirkese Church. So you have a Heikese church, in neo-clssist style and the Goirkese church, unlike the Heikese church, the Goirkese church is built in early neo-gothic style. The name Heikese church refers to the church 't Heike south of the center, where there was a barn church that was the predecessor of the current church. See also Wikipedia. Little is known about the history of the church. Presumably there was a Romanesque hall church. In 1430 construction started on a larger, gothic church. It was dedicated in 1483. After that there was probably another fire, but the church was restored. Religious disputes followed and in 1576 there were iconoclasts active in the church, but the Reformation did not gain a significant foothold in Tilburg. In 1577, the archive in the church had been destroyed by soldiers. On April 15, 1595, the church burned down by acts of war during the Eighty Years' War in connection with the conquest of Breda by Prince Maurice. It was rebuilt and rededicated as such in 1619. The "papa" objects were removed from the church in 1648 and some of them will have ended up in the barn churches. A baptismal font from 1590 is nowadays in the Goirkese church and two 15th century gothic candlesticks are located in the Museum of Religious Art in Uden. The church was returned to Catholics in 1823. In 1827 a neoclassical front was added and some time later the church was demolished and rebuilt as a neoclassical hall church. The church still has many sights from the early and past years. The church is regularly open on weekdays and Sundays and attracts many visitors (between 150 and 250 per afternoon).

a small friendly mini zoo, there are shows inside of snakes and spiders that you can touch during the presentation, I liked the bats that were close at hand, and the parrots. Cool atmosphere and free parking, only Ocelot worried me, who looked sick, turned around and seemed unpleasant sounds ,Is everything alright with him? I recommend this place

Immer wieder gern.

Really friendly, nice place. It's quick to get in and plenty on show straight away. Missing all the big animals from a regular zoo but I found this better than most animal themed places, there was also a brilliant interaction with spiders and snakes. Unlike everywhere else it was also open on Monday 👍

It’s a nice, small & cozy park if you have an hour or two to spend. We went on a rainy day, so a lot of animals from outside were in their shelters. However there was still enough to see and I’s see price-quality is fair.

Actually a very good little zoo. Very unusual animals that I hadn't seen before, lots of them in quite a small area! It had lots of cool birds like a giant vulture, American bald eagle #usa, giant spiders, armadillos, little colourful frogs, insects, crocodiles, emus, angry crazy-haired birds, etc. Worth the money and walking around for a couple of hours, even if you don't speak Dutch!

The Oliemeulen is a small zoo in Tilburg (West). The zoo features a nice selection of reptiles and insects. Outside you will find some mammals and birds hidden away. Be sure to attend the bird show and the snake/ tarantula demonstration. The bird show is packed with humor, although the presentation is solely in Dutch. The same counts for the demonstration, but you'll still get to touch a snake and tarantula, which would also be fun for those who don't speak dutch. In 3 hours time you'll have seen everything, which makes the zoo quite expensive for what you'll get.

The staff is extremely friendly. however, the place is very dated. there is a lack of maintenance and some animals are staying in a small space. Nevertheless, you can clearly tell that they love the animals and take very good care of them. As well it can be noted that the most impressive part is that you can touch/hold some of the animals such as snakes or spiders. Downside is the small area which massively reduces the time you need to see everything which makes it rather expensive to visit. However, our children loved the place and we will definitely visit again. hopefully at their new location!

Amazing ! Demonstrations with a tarantula (on your hand) and a snake (in your neck), the most poisonous frogs you can find, aligators (definitely no fake ones, they blink their eyes if you stare them down), turtles and to top it off a birdshow with birds of prey, owls and vultures - they fly back and forth and almost touch your hair). In one word, very worthwile a visit !

Because it is a small park the employees have more time to stop and talk or answer questions about the animals. Yet it is big enough to be entertained a few hours, especially when you join the demonstrations (feeding presentations or touching spiders and snakes) and shows (birds of prey). Kids love to search the terraria for all small critters and reptiles.

(Translated by Google) It is not normal that the pens are so small. The animals are going around in circles, there is not enough space. We got out of there much faster than expected, because it was impossible to see these animals in such suffering. I do not understand how it is that animal welfare companies do not take care of this case.

It’s located exactly beside Antwerp train station. Easy to find. For me, this zoo it’s like an old school zoo. The concepts of the whole zoo was outdated. The cage was too small for the monkeys. They put monkeys in small rooms with glass window , not in the open space. It is a very big zoo, but they don’t have a wide range of animals. Lots of empty cages. But I liked the garden though. The flowers are beautiful. Comparing with others countries , it’s a bit expensive for the entrance fee.( €28 per adult)

(Translated by Google) Following a weekend spent in Mol in Belgium, we were convinced to make a stop on the way back to visit the Antwerp zoo. The zoo is magnificent, it is also surprising to find such a zoo in the city center! 1 month after our return, we had the misfortune of receiving a LEZ fine. We had never heard of it. Very surprised to see the discrimination practiced by the city of Antwerp which allows vehicles registered in Belgium and the Netherlands to come and go but in our case verbalizes our French vehicle (Petrol / Euro6) for pollution because we did not not registered on a site that no one has ever told us about. In short, no tolerance, no warning, sanctioned immediately for the sole reason that we are not Belgian and that suddenly it was necessary to guess that a registration of the vehicle was necessary. I can only advise the Antwerp zoo to warn tourists at the ticket office about this absurd rule so that they can regularize their situation while there is still time.

Great little zoo with surprising amount of animals. Friendly personnel that really put the animals first and are very knowledgeable. We watched the spider and snake show and the birds show, both were a bit shorter due to the heat in the attic and for the birds. Both gave a lot of info and were brought with humour. Good chances to see a lynx, ocelot or monkeys up close. Some are often invisible in a larger zoo.

Loved it! Quite a few animals, all looked very content. Friendly staff, fun bird show, can hold a snake or a spider at the snake show. Would bring kids here if I had any.

Amazing place with beautiful little critters, but it was heartbreaking to see big animals in tiny cages (an eagle on a leash only being able to fly a few meters, and a big cat continuouslt walking the same circle). If they drop the big animals and just focus on small animals that don't need spaces, it would've been a wonderful place to appreciate nature from up close.

Such an amazing little place. Went on a Sunday and it wasn’t super busy, which I loved. You’re able to see the animals for a longer time without feeling like you have to move on. Plenty of animals out and about. We had the opportunity to hold a snake and tarantula. The bird show was very interactive and we got to see the birds up close. The Groupon was less than 10 euro per person and one of the best zoos I’ve been to (even compared to the States where I’ve visited many zoos). Will definitely come back.

👍👍 This was a very unexpected, but very interesting experience, especially in a small town such as Tilburg. The staff was very friendly and the maze itself was very well done. It is clear that alot of effort and thought has been put into this attraction. You start out with having to place your phone...
