Neat little place. Dog friendly, and employee happy! A number of different beers on tap and then of course the coffee and teas. While there were plenty of what I would call "weird" ingredient combinations, everyone in the place seemed to enjoy the mix. I'm a plain coffee guy and my wife had a London Fog. The courtyard is so quiet, great place to chill.

This is the best coffee shop in Sioux Falls. Lots of options. Also tons of your choices in the evening. Start your day here with the morning pick me up and end here with an evening cool and unwind. Try the Americano how little bit of oatmeal! And don’t forget to make it iced.

In the pursuit of an excellent cup of coffee, I take advantage of living on the road. Today found me downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We made our way into THE SOURCE coffee roastery and tap room. A Bright, sunlight, corner location, the building had amazing natural light and great vibe. We ordered a breve and a cafe miel. I deliberately seek out locations that roast coffee, because without question, I'm guaranteed a fresher cup of coffee. This location does not disappoint. The espresso is Rich and balanced, and not charcoaly. The barista carefully crafted our drinks and executed flawless espresso art. Great art is not necessary, but it adds to the ambience and experience. Take it from me, this needs to be your go-to location for great coffee.

The staff is very friendly, and the space is great. My husband and I loved our lattes. I've never had a macadamia latte before and it was divine! They are well priced and easy enough to find. Only a four instead of a five because of food selection. Coffee is on point. We'll definitely be coming here every time we're in Sioux Falls.

Once of the best coffees I’ve had! I tried the flannel frenzy off the specialty menu and it was SO GOOD. Very sweet staff and cute vibe.

Love every cup of coffee I get here! Enjoy how I can spend a chill night with friends trying new beers or work on homework. Honestly, it’s my favorite spot to go to on weekends whenever I’m in Sioux Falls.

Upon the first sip of their seasonal Queen of Hearts drink, I knew: I had finally found the best coffee in town on the very last day of our vacation. Remorse brewed on the back of my tongue as I measured the grounds I had covered on my search β€” if only I had come here first! The barista chirping so delightfully behind the counter was transformed behind the steam of my cup into the most enchanting Cinderella: out of the ashes of my coffee search the coffee grounds (figuratively) smudging her cheeks offered a glittering consolation. It may have taken a whole week, but I had finally found it: The Source of my coffee dreams. Don’t be like me. Don’t wait a week to try it!

What at first appears to be a convoluted ordering sysyem, actually turns out to be well thought out and quite wonderful. The staff were quite helpful as this was our first time. We poured two different stouts and both were spectacular. Thank you to an awesome staff member who walked is through the process, you really did make the difference!

Genuinely one of the nicest & most relaxing cafes I have ever visited. It’s been 3 years & I still think about this place. When I make it back to SD this will be my first stop.

Very nice place, the atmosphere is awesome! But…. I’ve only ever gotten coffee drinks from here and have been disappointed. Maybe they’re more so known for the on tap beer, but I would not recommend ordering coffee from here. Paid for a half full poorly made cup of coffee.

What a cool vibe this place has. I'm normally a coffee purist and steer away from "coffee drinks" but I decided to give it a try on this visit. They've figured out how to make coffee based drinks that are more about flavor than sugar. I tasted the "Earth Child" which is a matcha green tea drink that I will order on a future visit when I've had enough coffee. The baristas are exceptional. They listen, engage, and they know their products. Best of all they aren't coffee snobs who make curious customers feel stupid for asking questions. I would highly recommend this coffee shop to people who truly enjoy coffee as well as those who are interested in learning about good coffee and the many different ways to enjoy it. I truly enjoy coffee and have explored it around the world. This is only the second coffee shop I've found in Sioux Falls where it is fun to experience coffee that is well roasted and well brewed. Nice job to the person who came up with the idea of a coffee shop and tap room. I haven't tried the beers but I'm comfortable giving high praise to the coffee section. Kudos to the baristas, Hayden and Karissa for exceptional service and a delicious drink respectively. The Earth Child was Karissa's creation.

A cool coffee shop sharing the space with a very nice cacti shop. Service is nice. Coffee is ok, not strong and not very flavorful to my taste. (We had a breve cappuccino and latte)

Sensational coffee shop I've been to several times now in Sioux Falls. One of the better coffee shops I've been to around the world. House made syrups with incredible flavors and after notes. I highly suggest the Boho or the Resolve. They are seasonal, so may not be available year around.

We stopped here for coffee on our way to look at the lights at Fall's Park. We love trying new coffee shops and this one definitely did not disappoint! We loved the inside! The staff.....Amy and Sarah were awesome! The coffee was so good! We will most definitely be back the next time we are in Sioux Falls!

I had the Resolve. This instantly hit the top of my list! House made Turmeric Latte with Cayenne and sea salt espresso and milk. I had it made with Oat milk and an extra shot of espresso. From the first sip, the sea salt does it's job of enhancing the flavors of the turmeric and cayenne.. very smooth! Expertly crafted by the barista (as seen in the photo) and a big congratulations to the barista/ mixologist who created this amazing latte! Will definitely be hitting this up again before I leave.

Nice atmosphere with good coffee choices. I really enjoyed my espresso which they served with sparkling water. My coffee (hard to make a bad choice with the ones they offer) was really good - Ethiopia Yirgacheffe. Not there for the beer, but they have a nice variety (IPA, Porter, Sours, etc.) from regional breweries.

Great urban place, with awesome employees and downtown vibe! My favorite coffee, and occasional lavender lemonade! As a huge coffee enthusiast, this is my sanctuary! A place with a positive vibe, where I can sip coffee and write or draw, or simply work on my ideas!

We visit Sioux Falls every other month give or take and we always come to The Source for coffee! We usually don’t deviate off the Miel but today I got the β€œVan Life” and I was so impressed with the presentation and taste! 🀀🀩 the chocolate bar and marshmallow were so perfectly toasted - it melted in your mouth without being too hot to bite it. Impeccable execution! This place is always worth a stop! β˜•οΈ ❀️ I’m adding a few photos from a past trip here too to show how beautiful it is in winter ❀️πŸ₯°

This is THE best coffee shop in Sioux Falls. The lattes are excellent. The vibe and aesthetic are giving life. EDITED: Adding another comment as well. The iced vanilla matcha latte with whole milk is literally the best thing I’ve ever tasted. And the music was INCREDIBLE… a little Frank Ocean… a little Miguel. I’m obsessed.

This coffee shop was very cute, and I’ll probably be back, but fair warning β€” I asked for a decaf latte, and the barista said she could make it, but I really don’t think it was decaf. To all those a little sensitive to caffeine, be aware.

"A SMALL PLACE WITH A BIG PERSONALITY'" This review is based solely on my experience and personal opinion. I've been many times to Sioux Falls but yesterday, 1/7/2023, was my first at the "The Source Coffee Roastery + Taproom". I was looking for a Coffee shop and this place popped up on my google search, and the odd part is they had positive reviews only. I got there at around 3pm and the place was packed, I had 5 customers waiting ahead of me while most of the customers stood by the counter with their glass of Beer or cold brew while chatting with their friends.......what strikes you immediately when you walk in is that everybody is super-relaxed, friendly, happy and smiling, which is definitely a good sign when checking out a new place. PLACE: Cute place, modern-industrial look with a high-end design vibe. Minimally furnished but yet cozy and comfy. The grey ceiling, the white walls and the tiles/stone mounted around the counter make the room cold, and to compensate that they could use the "green" of some live plants, like Succulents, to bring some warmth. I love the huge amount of light coming in from the big window that overlooks the street and I personally consider the fixture a real delight. It is a small area, but you can easily sit 40 customers. I would also add just a few armchairs and a couch, maybe with a rug. FOOD: They do not have much when it comes to food, I have seen two options only for the customers that drink beer and wine and for the ones that enjoy a sweet treat there are some muffins, bars and other packaged bakery products, like croissants. DRINKS: Alcoholics: They have a big Selection of Beer, Wine, soft drinks and club soda..... and many other Specialty drinks. There is an entire wall, with a big selection that offers 16 unique styles of craft beer sourced from artisan breweries, where you can select the one you like, scan your prepaid card and draft yourself a glass (Taproom). I found it pretty cool actually. COFFEE: they have a pretty good selection of Coffee beans from different regions of the world, and they roast it themselves. I always consider in-house-roasting a great "plus" for a high-end Coffee shop. Their selection of Coffee-based drinks (Hot/Cold) is pretty big. I loved their cappuccino and the "LONDON FOG" tea... LOCATION: it is downtown Sioux Falls and it is located in a multi-business kind of building. inside the same building is a restaurant, a craft store and something else. STUFF: The girls that work there are just amazing.... friendly yet professional, sunny, knowledgeable when it comes to the products they sell.... today, they realized we were distracted, and they brought the drinks to our table, very kind of them. and I am pretty sure that everybody agrees when I say that "We all love our coffee when it's served with a big smile". Two of the girls went above and beyond by helping me and my friend finding a good ethnic restaurant in town. I do not know their names but thank you for your help regardless. CLEANLINESS: very clean, tables, benches, floor, even the windows. The girls are always around cleaning and picking up glasses and mugs when they are not making drinks and serving. PRICES: if you consider the quality they offer, prices can be considered lower than average. KIDS/PETS: They are kids and pets friendly. CONCLUSION: definitely a MUST-GO coffee shop if you are in Sioux Falls, especially if you want to relax, drink a very good coffee or a glass of beer and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere.

A bit slow when it's busy, but good, made-to-order espresso. If you dislike fruity roasts then this is NOT the spot for you πŸ˜… but a lot of that flavor can be balanced out with some milk (can you tell I'm not into fruity coffee? lol). They also have very fun seasonal drinks as well!

  • 3/5 Regan L. 1 year ago on Google
This coffee shop is cute and the coffee is ok. The espresso in my latte tasted burnt, and I love espresso. The worst part is the WiFi wasn’t working. I told the barista and she said that she would fix it, but it didn’t work. I ended up leaving because I couldn’t get any work done with the WiFi situation.

I went to the source today to meet with my wedding photographer, I'd never been there before so I didn't know what to expect. I ordered what I always get from coffee shops, a chai tea with almond milk. I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary but this blew my mind. It was honestly the best chai tea I've ever had and I can not wait to go back and get another one.

The baristas did not wear masks, and nobody in sight wore masks. Disappointed in the service and felt unsafe. The neighboring store, β€œsharing the dream” was kind enough to put on a mask. Here’s the coffee we were served:

I love visiting this coffee shop in downtown Sioux Falls. It is located in a condominium space with other restaurants and boutiques. The coffee itself is so good, the modern decor is beautiful, and the tap wall is so cool! Their social media is accessible, modern, and trendy. I love it here!!! I like to get a glass of wine from this shop and get food from Swamp Daddies right down the hall. Highly recommend!

Asked the barista if I could have the leftover milk on my order from the frothing pitcher because I was unsure of the cappuccino strength as this was my first time checking out the shop. It was not my order yet, she said. 30 seconds later, when it was my order, the next one up, I proceeded to ask the same, while she was pouring the cappuccino into the mug. As soon as I started talking she quickly poured out the leftover milk into the sink and washed the frothing pitcher. Misunderstandings happen all the time, but this was such an unwarranted disrespect...it totally ruined the first impression for me at the Source. Contacted the management--no response. Checked out other negative reviews--they are all about extra MILK requests...no wonder! Imagine a coffee place that has a problem with MILK...

I ordered a 16 oz iced chai tea and when I got it I realized it looked smaller, more like a 12 oz. So I politely asked the lady if it was a 16 oz. and she rudely claimed that it was. Then, once i finished my coffee i looked at the bottom of the cup and saw that it said it was a 12 oz. Good coffee, but very disappointed in the customer service as i feel like i was being scammed.

I've only ever ordered one thing from here but it is my absolute favorite place to get it! They have oat milk! Which is a huge plus for me - love it. They allow dogs which is another huge perk. They have hot chocolate for the kiddos (my daughter wasn't a fan but she said it had a lot of foam which she didn't like and if I had to guess it probably wasn't as sweet as she's used to. I didn't get a chance to try it.) Great location, super nice staff, can't say enough about it. I personally haven't tried the brews but I've heard good things.

The Source has the best rotating seasonal menu in Sioux Falls. Their staff puts a lot of time and effort to come up with extremely unique combinations. The atmosphere is very bright and clean, and their beans are roasted locally at the shop. If I was traveling to a new city and this place was there it would be the first place I would check out.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They made a flavoured latte for me that a vlogger had ordered but was no longer on the menu. It was with lavender, honey and rose petals. The barista also made suggestions for a flavoured tea with layers of colour separation, which was also delicious. Very nice chilled out vibe in the coffee shop. Lovely place to catch an afternoon coffee break before moving on. Thank you!
