Great beer and tasty burgers. Got the best on the Midwest beer flight. A nice variety of hops, ale and sour beers. The waitress was attentive but not over bearing. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, I encourage you to do so. Had the Surly tonight and Bacon Chedderpeno burger... Very good, and would highly recommend!

I visited on an Wednesday afternoon. My food server was Stephanie and she offered without complaint to clear and wipe a table for me if I preferred to sit at a table instead of the bar. I ordered the classic cheeseburger with parmesan garlic fries and it was delicious! The food came out promptly after ordering. Stephanie checked on my table shortly after my food was delivered and mention to management that her work performance was A-1. She was efficient and hospitable, which makes her an asset to your company when so many food industry workers we run across in our travels either can't do their job or appear that they are doing the customer a favor by just being at work that day. She's a keeper.

The best mushroom Swiss and fries ever Ashley was an amazing server! Can't believe I haven't been there and lived here for 20 years. Pics would be better but ... we ate it all

Food was ok bar food. My wife loved her Walnut Burger (which was Vegan I think.) I ordered the Cajun burger with real hopes of a flavor bomb. At one point I think I told my wife that thw burger was hot just to be hot. Had good heat, but not enough flavor. I would not recommend or order this again. Thebfries were really good. Their Beer Cheese is amazing. They were out of the 2 dark beers that I wanted. One was Guiness and the other was a Stout. Great service, OK food.

My dining experience was very disappointing not only was the menu extremely overpriced 5.00 for a 16oz tap root beer no free refills And they don't even have ice. I get that it's a beer establishment but water with no ice is just unacceptable. Food was a bit undercooked but edible. Establishment was clean and hospitable. That alone isn't enough to make this a enjoyable experience

JL BEERS!! Best stop in town. If you are in Sioux Falls and want the best burger here it is! The restaurant, restrooms, bar & tables are nice and clean. The staff is friendly and quick to get you your drinks and food. I ordered the cheddarpeno burger. The ghost pepper sauce caught up with me 2/3 the through. Great place stop in for a beer & burger, you won’t be disappointed.

Both of our burgers were great, meat was juicy and flavorful, toppings were fresh and tasty, and the bun was among the softest and nicest of any burger spot I've ever been! The on-tap root beer was also among the best root beers I've ever had. Service was very friendly, prices were good even now, and speed was great. Will be back if/when I visit Sioux Falls again!

While on traveling the Midwest for our vacation road trip, we were looking for something open on the 4th of July. I am so happy this was one of the only options that was open. Let’s start with some of the absolute best service out of anywhere I’ve eaten…By all 3 of the people working. Friendly, great recommendations, attentive, and helpful. The food was so good, my better half ordered the Humpty Dumpty burger (loved it) and I went with none of the chicken sandwiches. We both got the fresh cut fries which were also great. I highly recommend this place!

Love coming here, but wife and her dad stopped in to grab something to eat with our 11 month old baby and were denied service, due to the baby not being of age haha ridiculous. Is JL Beers not kid friendly? I understand there is alcohol there but what place doesn’t have alcohol in it these days. Is no one under 21 allowed in there? No other kids allowed in there to eat? They drove up from Grand Island, Nebraska to visit up there which is a 5 hour drive. Loved eating there when we lived there. Crazy. Like I said we love JL Beers, recommend it to anyone that is going up there or visiting. Loved eating there all the time when we lived there.

Get the Wham Bam Bacon Jam Burger and thank me later. Only thing in this world that's even better than bacon? Bacon Jam. Great Beer Selection, fries made fresh from the potato right as you order them. You can't go wrong

Atmosphere hasn't changed. It would be nice to do an upgrade. Servers seem not interested in solo tables. I've been blanked a few time. I left a fecent tip to get the hint. Chips and beer cheese are always on point.

Fantastic burgers, fries, and chips! We've always had great service at any of the Sioux Falls locations. They can get busy, so be prepared to wait if you're going during peak meal times.

The classic hole in the wall pub experience executed to perfection; exemplified and elevated. Fries so fresh you literally get jumpscared by the pneumatic arm shoving potatoes into the fryer. Burgers so...burgers. I ordered the Not Just a Nutter Burger on a recommendation...took a bite...and felt the trajectory of my life change. Don't sleep on JL Beers, the best thing to come out of Sioux Falls.

Great!! They have 40 beers on tap, helpful bartenders, and amazing food. I got the bacon cheddarpeno burger (bacon on side) and fresh cut fries with sea salt. Plus a tub of ranch.

Always a classic. Great burger. Fairly cheap. Decent beer list. Very professional staff. Quick service. Clean bar. Only room for improvement was the fries were over salted but "w/e man".

My husband and I are staying in Sioux Falls over the summer and while I had been here before and didn't love it, we thought we would try it again. This time I would say the burgers were much better than last time I tried it over two years ago. I would also note that my husband and I consider ourselves (probably like a lot of people) burger connoisseurs. My husband had the blue cheese and bacon burger (which is the one I tried last time and didn't like) and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the JL burger which was delicious (double patty with grilled onions) and we had some beers and fries to go with the burger. Two critiques: to call your burgers truly the best I think the buns have to be really good, and I would say the buns were just average; and the service was a bit slow but to be fair our waitress was nice just a little overwhelmed as she seemed to be the only one. But the total package of flavors was delicious, and I would say for being able to sit in a restaurant and be served at a table at this price point makes it worth it. (As a note, I think Culver's is probably the best burger in Sioux Falls, but obviously sometimes you don't want a fast food experience.) Definitely try JL Beers if you're in Sioux Falls or any other place they have a restaurant.

JL Beers is probably gonna be my go to place to get a good beer and burger. Everything was cooked to perfection and definitely will fill you up. I went with the Humpty Dumpy Burger, was an excellent choice if you like fried eggs, bacon, and beef. The loaded fries were also phenomenal as well, topped with bacon, cheese, and jalapeño. The drink I had was the Berry Noir, really sweet brew. If you're in the downtown area, I'd highly recommend going here!!

Good beer selection and some of the best burgers/fries I've had.

Old school, hole in wall style restaurant/bar on Phillips avenue. Updated, clean and friendly with a great menu, and even greater menu of craft beers. Mostly burgers, few chicken options, and a plethora of seasoning options for your hand cut fries. I had the dill pickle seasoning, and you know what? It tasted just like the real dill...

One of the best burgers I’ve had in years, great beer selection, very cheap, and nice staff. Very easy to recommend this over and over. Wish I went here my first night in town I would’ve been back every night

Very good burger and service. I had the Not a Nutter Burger with fresh ground peanut butter. Always nice to see when your order goes in they drop your chips or fries so they are super fresh. The fresh ground peanut butter was great as well because it wasn’t super dry. A must try

Ate lunch here last week and thoroughly enjoyed the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, with a pretzel on the side with jalapeno cheddar dip. I also had a flight of five beers, mostly Stouts and sours. Very relaxing place to have lunch or dinner.

Best burgers you can get in Sioux Falls! You also need to order the cheese fries- so tasty!! The peanut butter beer my boyfriend got was to die for !

Great burgers! Got the Totally Slawsome and it was. We were able to share a single order of their fries (they start with raw potatoes!) between 4 of us... could have eaten more, but was really just right!

This was my first time at JL Beers and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed a simple cheeseburger! One of the best I've ever had! Plus, they had Abrasive (Surly beer) on tap which was another surprise. AND, even the fries were delicious! I'll definitely be returning and would recommend everyone else goes too!

Had diner here while passing through town. Great place. The beer selection (so long as you’re not a mainstream beer person) is top notch. And the food is awesome as well. Got the burger with peanut butter, pepper jelly and bacon on it; gonna gave to try and make this myself because it was delicious. The staff was also helpful and courteous. Definitely recommend.
