If you’re someone who believes that “good ol’ home cookin” is a type of cuisine, portion size is important and waitstaff that are quick and friendly make for a good time dining out, then the Fryn’ Pan is for you. Think unpretentious coffee shop/diner vibe complete with chicken and dumpling soup, pot roast, burgers and a freshly stocked soup and salad bar (I mean it, like 4 types of delicious homemade soup). At 4pm on a Wednesday the place was filled with regulars and old timers. Seniors can find an extensive menu just for them to help stretch that dollar a little. Beef and vegetable soup, salad bar (delectable blue cheese) and a bowl of spaghetti hit the spot after a long drive and maneuvering around Sioux Falls. Protip: Wednesdays are Senior Day where they offer a 20% off discount, 5-9pm. Salad Bar hours are 11am to 11pm.

Great food and reasonable pricing. You know you are at the right place when all the locals come here. I recommend their super special. My roast beef was $12 which is big portion. Quality/taste: 8/10 Quantity: 8/10 Price: $

Overall, this is a great place to go if you like a variety of "home meals" and a pretty great salad bar! The salad bar never disappoints. They always have 4 different homemade soups on the salad bar and all of them are good. Changed daily... yummy desserts, pies and muffins...The prices are fair, wait staff can be OK...maybe short staffed... but always seem to get orders right. Maybe it needs a "facelift" inside, but clean and for the money and food taste... it's good. Better than Perkins service, prices and food quality for sure!

We went here last night for my grandfather's 90th birthday. We dine at all 3 Fryn Pan's here in Sioux Falls frequently and I am a VIP member. I almost always get the grilled salmon dinner with salad bar. My grandfather got a patty melt with salad bar because they had ham and bean soup as we arrived, which is his favorite. When we got up to the salad bar, no ham and bean soup. This was at 7:15 pm. Finally found a waitress to ask about it and were told oh, well if it is about 9:00pm. They don't put any more out. Fine. Finally got our dinners, 5 diners, at 8:00 pm. My grandmother and my fries were burned and cold, I could barely cut her chicken strips with a knife, and my salmon, although not badly cooked, had no color other than the burned on "grill leftovers" sticking to the middle part. By the time I could flag down a Manager, everyone at the table had finished eating. The manager told me my salmon was fine after he took my plate and tore it apart with my fork. He then handed it back to me and basically told me to eat it or order something else. I told him I wanted this meal cooked correctly. He said it was correct and handed it back to me. Then another waitress arrived with new fries that were also overcooked and was completely rude about it. I had to eat this poor excuse for a meal as I had no other choice, my blood sugar was too low to argue at this point, 9:15pm. Our waitress gave us a motel discount on the bill but I am so offended, I will never go back here. The west 12th street location is soooo much better. I don't know what happened to those people, but I will pray they have better days today, for them and their patrons.

Ate at Fryn’ Pan when staying over in Souix Falls, SD on our way to The Badlands… I had looked up restaurants when planning the trip. Was looking for “home cooked meals” and the Fryn’ Pan seemed to fit the bill. Arrived about 7:45 so, not so busy. The waitress was less than friendly. My husband ordered Chicken Fried Chicken & I ordered Taco Salad. Both meals were very good!!! And, home made as advertised!!! The main complaint was with the waitress who did not refill drinks or check back at the table. I needed more taco sauce so, my husband had to chase her down… Then, 10 minutes went by & still no taco sauce. Taco salad was getting cold at this point but, I was still hungry. I went to remind the waitress & she said she forgot. Then, another 10 minutes went by and still no taco sauce. I ate what I could and we left. Good food EXTREMELY bad service. FYI- We ate there the evening of September 24, 2023 and the waitress was young with platinum blonde hair (just like me lol)

Server never brought us our side salads. 15 minutes after ordering i asked host and he got them for us. Server came back and said sorry she forgot. Made us feel really special. Salads smelled and tasted bleachy. Server brought out our chicken dinners: Chicken tasted like fish and mashed potatoes had at best 2 tablespoons of gravy. No rolls. At least my chocolate milk tasted good. Worst experience we have ever had at Fryin Pan E 10th St. Usually it's been very good.

Always great food with phenomenal service! Very rarely more than a 5 minute way. The food is fresh and delicious! A great place to enjoy food and conversation without a lot of background conversations!

We were worried about finding a place to eat at so late. This was a good stop not far off the highway. Food was good. The salad bar had good greens and veggie options and I enjoyed the soup. We filled up on the salad bar and took our food, chicken fried steak and meat lovers omelette, for lunch the next day.

Would put this place as a top 5 family favorite! I love this place. Love the price, usually love the food. Kinda become family there because the me and the family go so much lol. Maybe adding some new dishes would be something they could do. Not saying what they have is bad, just throwing a ideal out there with this review!

The food is always fresh and their soup tastes homemade. They give you your money's worth. I am so happy that these restaurants have been open for decades because they are reasonable family restaurants. Their desserts are amazing too.

Our truck broke down and we stayed at the super 8 while our parts were overnighted. I was a child of the 70s and was forced to eat liver do to the family budget. I hated liver. Tonight I ordered there liver and onions was surprised on how tolerable liver could be. To me it was a stepping stone and I now plan on eating liver and onions again.Thank you

So impressed. Hubby had this place scoped out long before we arrived in Sioux Falls, and it did not disappoint. Wonderful selection of senior dinner meals, a delicious, fresh all-you-can-eat soup/salad bar and ... we got a 10% senior discount deducted from our entire tab. We'll be back for breakfast in a week on our way back through.

Speedy service and friendly waitstaff. We got the French toast and it was cooked perfectly, eggs were cooked as requested and satisfying. Very kid friendly, we brought our baby and the staff were very considerate.

I always expect these places to be dingy and dirty but this location was quite clean, neat, well kept and well managed plus our food was very delicious. Great server too!

I love Fryn' Pan! I order the same thing because it is my favorite! I get the cajun chicken alfredo, add broccoli and extra garlic toast with a strawberry lemonade! My favorite meal, ever. Highly recommend this place. Our go to is the one East 10th st! Amazing people. Definitely a place for options!

The service was really nice and the food was amazing. I ordered the hot beef and I would recommend. (There could have been more gravy though ;)

We overhead the night Waitress complain about a couple who very ironically sounded like what we were doing.... ( sitting too long just to drink coffee) She had said she didn't like when people didnt tip her good.... she was very comfortable talking negative that it put me in a bad mood... so i didn't tip her. Her mood wasnt pleasant and the whole time we were there...(about 45 minutes) (we were filling out job apps) she glared at us and sighed to let us know we needed to hurry up and leave... we wont go back again. The guy who greeted us though and helped us out with our questions- you were very kind and welcoming!

Thank you for the excellent service and food, today. As guests to the city, we appreciate hospitality and it did not go unnoticed. Highly recommended!

Service is always excellent. But prices are going up which they can't control and the food quality is going down which they can control. Link sausage should not be cooked in the deep fryer, bacon should not be warmed in a microwave until its tasteless, and american fries should be grilled not deep fried. It didn't used to be that way. They need to go back to basics. Maybe you would be voted area best again. Not happening the way its going now

First time in and exceeded our expectations. Friendly and courteous staff, clean tables and full salad bar. The time from ordering to food on the table was QUICK. Food was delicious!

Home style cooking. Not quite like Grandma's. Food could use a little work, but overall, it is not a bad place for a good meal.

We came on a Sunday, it was very busy. The food tasted good but it was crowded. I had biscuits and gravy. I also enjoyed the salad bar.

I love going places, but I don't always love people. Being open 24 hours allows me to still be able to go out to eat without having to feel overwhelmed by the Sunday after church crowd. Their food is great, certainly better than anything else you'd find in the middle of the night. They also have a stellar salad bar and every server I've had was always attentive, friendly, and helpful.

Service was great! Food was good too. My husband had the salmon and I had the beef tips. Both were cooked just right. Side salad here was big and even had tomato’s. Most places don’t do this anymore.

Heres an experience that's rare. A restaurant like this is hard to find these days. Plan to visit again real soon. Prices are fair not overpriced like most other places. Open 24hrs who can beat that since the pandemic?

You really can't go wrong with Fry'n Pan. BEST salad bar. BEST pancakes! Home town vibes, super great service, not noisy (except for the occasional group of high schoolers). Just an overall comfortable restaurant!

Just had the worst meal of my life at fryn pan today! i placed a pickup order online, A Rosie Special, Side of Big Bacon, Side Of Hashbrowns. I got a Rosie…Burnt bacon, Eggs were cold on the inside, hashbrowns tasted microwaved and i was there before my order was even done. Apparently they don’t do big bacon anymore so they just completely took the side bacon off the order in general, and gave me a side of cheesy hashbrowns that were also cold. Waste of time and money.
