    We went for lunch on a Saturday. We were incredibly impressed with how quickly they seated us and served our drinks. We chose the hibachi option and ordered Hibachi steak and Hibachi salmon for lunch. They directed us to a table where we had a clear view of the Hibachi setup. Another family of three was seated with us. The chef arrived with a cart filled with all the necessary items for our meal. He skillfully performed some magic tricks while cooking. It was a unique experience to witness the preparation of our meal. The food was delicious, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly, and we were all satisfied with our meals. To accompany our lunch, we ordered Japanese strawberry and melon drinks, which were also fantastic! The drinks were served in uniquely shaped bottles, and the experience of opening them added to the enjoyment. My wife obtained permission to take the bottles home because they were so cute. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

    Very good food. Fast service and cook was very accommodating of our needs. Reason for four stars: Server. We showed up after the lunch rush, place was pretty empty. Server seemed new/flustered. Didn't ask about food allergies or sensitivities. After the meal was cooked we felt very rushed to leave. Mind you, at this point we were the only ones there. This is the first time this has happened at this establishment so I hope it was an off day for her. Will definitely return.

    I ordered Tokyo 26 on Door Dash for lunch and it was fantastic! I got a chicken bento box and a chicken stick for an ap. I most certainly will for that chick stick ap again! It was $7 for 2 sticks but it was worth every bite! For the bento, I wasn't a fan of the miso soup and I'm thinking that's maybe because I don't like miso soup and not because they did a poor job. The California sushi was good and the extra rice bowl went into the ap bowl to get all the sauce from those chicken sticks! The whole thing was fantastic and there was a LOT of food there. I will be getting it again!

    Good hibachi grill restaurant. Our cook was entertaining and food was good but a bit lite on seasoning. The price is pretty standard for this type of place. They have a good assortment of sushi 🍣 as well. Overall a good time.😁👍

    The food was excellent , 5 star food ! our chef was not fun or interactive and ordered an appetizer did not come until meal was over returned it, the chef cleaning g grill as we ate splattering on to table.

    Love the sushi. Had 3 different rolls - all were delish. Their fried rice is some of the best. They were doing some deep cleaning. Smelled very fresh. It was very quick today.

    Food is ok. Service lacking. I guess if you like getting your food a half hour after the rest of your party (exact same dish) with only 3 other parties in the restaurant and many people standing around this is your place.

    We didn’t have a reservation, so we waited about 20 minutes, which was fine. However, we ordered four Tokyos for two, so 8 people and specifically requested 'Steak, Shrimp, and Scallops.' Instead, they made us a Tokyo Supreme, which included Chicken and Lobster, resulting in a $100 price increase. Despite this mix-up, our Hibachi chef was fantastic—engaging, funny, and a skilled cook. While we appreciated his talents, we were disappointed by the order error due to the significant price difference.

    Sushi portions/quality are top notch. Good/large flavor in the Summer Roll. Skip the miso soup it is bland and comes Luke warm. The California roll was also the largest portion I've gotten in Sioux falls so far. As for the service quality, one girl came a few times to check on me originally. I wish she had been my server. The tall guy I had was horrible. Each time I ordered it took 15 minutes to get my rolls. That is 15 minutes after it had been prepared and sat on the bar ready to be served. I also spent time trying to find a server partway through my meal to order the California roll. It was dead in there only 3 tables had customers. If you have plenty of time come here for the great food. Maybe just grab your food from the bar to save you from waiting.

    We dined in a booth for dinner off the menu. We got the sushi for 2 platter and we asked if the 16 assorted pieces were nigiri and we were told by our server they weren't nigiri after he checked with the kitchen. When our food showed up, all the assorted pieces were nigiri. It is a total 1st world problem, so we didn't say anything and ate our food. The rolls and nigiri were good, but I think our server realized he screwed up because he completely avoided our table. I get it. I was a server so it's easy to think you lost a table and just stay away. I had to get up and go ask someone else for water refills and we didn't get a visit until he brought the check. The food was good, but the service made us not want to go back. The place wasn't very clean looking. Running a restaurant isn't rocket science and I feel like the simple things that don't cost anything are constantly overlooked. With the amount of decent sushi places in town, I'd find a better place to spend your money. Maybe the hibachi aspect of this place makes it worth it, but I'm not sure we will find out.

    I used to love this place! I'm so disappointed that they have such terrible customer service! Today, my hibachi lunch was served with cold rice and undercooked and cold steak. I asked for it to be corrected, and their solution was to microwave the plate for 2 minutes! I had already put yummy sauce on the rice, and it turned to unrecognizable paste in the microwave. I asked for new rice and was told no. I had already paid so I asked for a refund. I was told in no uncertain terms that I wouldn't get new food and I wouldn't get my money back. She even acknowledged that she sees me there a lot, and I've never once complained and always tip well. I paid $20 for 3 bites of steak and 2 bites of rice! I'm so frustrated right now!

    My son and I went here to eat and we were treated very rudely. We checked in with the hostess who told us there was a 10 minute wait to get seated. We proceeded to wait almost 20 minutes when another lady came up to us and said we wouldn't get seated for awhile because we didn't make a reservation. If we would have been told that when we first checked in, it wouldn't have been a problem, but we were told that we could get a table in 10 minutes. It was just really odd how we were treated so disrespectfully and basically told we couldn't eat there after we already waited. We will not be back after this VERY RUDE treatment of basically being asked to leave when the restaurant wasn't even half full! DO BETTER please!

    The young man who was our waiter was very inattentive. He tried to take plates away without saying a word to ask if we were done with them. Didn't put in an order for my father's food and after we asked about it he disappeared for over a half an hour without a word of apology for his mistake. Brought the food out with long periods in between and just set the check and boxes down without saying a word. The sushi tasted like it was frozen. Overall a very terrible experience. We will probably not be coming back here.

    This is a really awesome place to eat at. We bring out family there often. The chefs are super nice and interact well with everyone. The food is always great and amazing and you never leave there hungry. Will absolutely continue to go here.

    Some of their stuff are so rude, there was a girl that say she can't help us because African don't give tips. The cook was very nice, the young girl that took our order was nice

    Sushi was bad and took forever to be made, spent $50 for my family to not finish or enjoy their food. Will never get food here again. Update: this morning (the day after) my brother has been puking from his which was the worse.

    The family and I have been here many times. The food is good most of the time. We have had a few times where the food was over cooked. The prices can get expensive pretty quick if you add appetizers, sushi, and such to your meal. Overall we enjoy eating here on occasion.

    We sat waiting for our order to be taken for 15 minutes. Our server got our drinks right away then, our waitress was in 2 booths behind us the entire 15 minutes on her phone talking about a buying a house. We just about got up and left due to the lack of service we were receiving. Very disappointed that the waitress was sitting 2 booths behind us talking on her phone for 15 minutes. I would like to add we were the only 2 customers in the Tokyo building

    We've been here a few times and loved the experience. This time around was completely different. We ordered the dinners and some sushi, waited and waited for our soup and salads but never recieved them. Our waiter hardly showed his face to our table for anything. He walked around the restaurant multiple times and didn't stop once to check on us. When our dinners finally arrived, we asked about the soup and salads and he said "yeah" and went and grabbed them. Our table was super full and not a lot of room for all the food to sit on the table comfortably. We felt like our waiter could of cared less if we were there or not. It's also bad when other tables had to go find him and ask for items. Would come back for the food but hopefully to better service next time.

    The only reason I will be leaving a bad review is because during Covid 19 we had to do take out. I'm extremely unimpressed that I spent $40 on food that matched the amount I take home on a normal day of actually eating at the restaurant. Let's be real when you eat there you get a gracious amount of food and you almost always take home leftovers. The amount that I just paid for is atrocious and when we tried to call and complain they didnt even answer their phone. I will never be ordering from Tokyo again.

    Found a big piece of plastic in my salad. Told it to the waiter and he told the manager and never heard anything else. Asked to talk to the manager and she ran and hid in the back while I stood waiting for 10 minutes. Will not be returning to this location.

    Went there as a special surprise for our 5 year old as this is his favorite restaurant. Was absolutely terrible. Got there got told to go sit at a table in a freezing dark room. Waited over 20 minutes for no one to come even acknowledge us sitting there. No drink orders nothing. Even had 2 staff members in the room wiping things down or sweeping. I approached staff at the front counter and asked if anyone was going to come to our table to get our drink order and food order and was told yes. After waiting awhile longer and no one coming we got up and left with one very upset and sad 5 year old. My husband called and spoke to whomever claimed to be the manager saying they were backed up in the kitchen with to go orders. Okay well that doesn’t explain why not a single staff member came to even say hey sorry about the wait or anything. This was just awful!

    The food was good and the server nice enough. My family and I came in at 8:45pm. The place doesn’t close till 9:30pm. We got the bill 5 minutes after eating, it felt like we were being rushed out. At 9:15 they started mopping and yes they did put “caution “ signs up. However, there were customers in the restaurant. My daughter was careful when walking, but she fell on the wet floor. There were three employees in the restaurant, non of them came to see if she was okay or apologize. I work at a restaurant, so I now how it feels to have to close it down. But you don’t mop unless there’s a spill, wait till you’re closed , either that close the restaurant at 8:30 or 9:00 pm. We left at 9:30pm.

    Most the time this is a very nice place to visit. But last night the service was lacking... the grill cook rocked it but my son had to get up and get his own water and then when my wife and I needed drinks he got up to start getting it for us. ( meaning my son ) the waiter final did his job and got us our drinks. Someone sat down on other side of table and cook asked waitress to do something and she just walked away and even he went okay.... like why are you not doing what he asked... but this is not normal how it is so I recommend it normal.

    Rjay, was a amazing chef to my family and I. He was funny and sweet, we told him I wanted to be a chef and he let me try a ginger sauce and gave me a suggested show that has recipes to watch. He did some pretty cool tricks and I absolutely loved the new experience will definitely come back.
