👍 Great little place. Was featured on Diner's Drive-ins and Dives, and for good reason. I had the Chislic Philly with fries, and the wife had the Chislic Nachos. We read the reviews and said you have to have chislik if you go to SD. So we found this place on the guy fierie thing. The service was awesome...our server took a lot of time explaining what chislik even was haha. Lots of tvs for sports and clean atmosphere. Great food and experience.

Great little place. Was featured on Diner's Drive-ins and Dives, and for good reason. I had the Chislic Philly with fries, and the wife had the Chislic Nachos. Both had lamb, and were really delicious, and filling. The price tag was also very reasonable. The only complaint I'd have was they seemed a bit under staffed, and to us, the place wasn't too busy. So, the 1/2 hour of sitting at our table before making a food order seemed excessive (but we at least we had our drinks). The waitress did keep telling us, that she'd be right back to take our order after she did this or that. Overall, a great place that you should check out (if you have the time).

Went in for lunch for a first trip in and was happy to check it out. We ordered the dumpster. To start, the meat is exceptional on its own. They season it really well and it really is nice to enjoy without all the extras. Then there's the sauces. I love a good sauce, but for me, these became fry dip sauces because I liked the meat on its own better than with the sauce. The fries were very good! They are a little thinner than what I would normally like but tasty all the same. Like I said before, we dipped the fries in the different sauces to enjoy each flavor. The coleslaw was good but a bit more creamy/liquid than I would like. It seemed to have a good amount of extra seasoning but just way too much liquid to really enjoy it. The last part of the meal was the kettle chips. Oh my word! It's like a full family size bag of chips! Come hungry! The chips and fries have the same style of seasoning. I liked them both. We had a good bit left over but will enjoy all that later.

Saw the triple d episode then had to check it out when we were in Sioux Falls. Had a great time and really enjoyed the food. Went there on opening Sunday for nfl and they had all the games on. I tried the featured sandwich on triple d and it was amazing. Friendly staff made it a great visit.

Not sure if anyone deserves a five but maybe this place!! Service was pretty awesome and our waitress was on top of things! We had bone in wings, pork sandwich and a grand nachos. Was all great. Fresh everything! Nice atmosphere here, I wouldn't suggest for a more vegetarian person, call ahead, but for a meat eater an awesome place. Enjoy!

Saw this place on DDD, so wanted to try it out. I was not impressed. Apparently chislic is not my thing. The sauce was tasty, but the beef was a bit dry, and the whole thing was a bit pricy for a little bowl of meat and a handful of French fries. I was still hungry at the end of my meal.

Wow! The food was great! My husband and I had the Dumpster. Of the meats, I really enjoyed the lamb but all were good. Coleslaw had a little different twist to it but was good. I loved the chips. We had a large portion of leftovers that our 20 year son devoured.

Great service!!! The lamb chislic was a bit tough, but still very tasty. Appreciated the fact that it wasn't super busy and that we felt safe during COVID times. Bartender/waiter was very attentive and super friendly. Will be back.

Poor vegetarian options, I subbed my burger for veggie patty. I either got a beef burger or a very convincing imitation patty! Honestly pretty small burgers. $30 for 2 of us. Fun atmosphere though. Would bring the non vegetarians in my family back again.

I was told this place was amazing. We saw it on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. My son wanted to go for his birthday, and we had never had chislic. The server was super nice. The music was awesome. However, the food was not good. We got bison nachos, but the bison was inedible. It was so tough, there was no way to get through it. We also got a burger and chicken teriyaki. The burger was ok. The chicken was so dry and flavorless. After we were done, the server saw my kid got the nachos, which I told her I was ordering specifically for him at the beginning...she then told us we could have done the happy hour nachos which were half the cost/size. Not helpful after the fact. It was unfortunate to spend $70 for food that none of us actually enjoyed.

Seriously, YUM! We will be back for sure. We ordered both the beef and pork chislic, fries, onion rings, ranch, sweet heat sauce, honey mustard, and sweet bbq sauce. We were super satisfied with everything. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!

Asked my wife to stop by today and pick up an order. Never had Chislic here before. She did….$26 later. Chislic tastes like you’d suspect old rubber tires would. Had better just about anywhere in South Dakota. Order is now in the trash and there wont be another!

Ick ick ick ! We ordered food to pick up. Was never greeted while we sat at the window for roughly 5 minutes. Then told us it would be additional ten minutes. It was actually an additional 23 more minutes. There was only a few cars there on a Saturday so that should have been a clue to what we were in for. Food was awful. Only thing that was good was the cheese curds. We threw away almost all the food. The chislic made me gag , (taste was weird , way over cooked and chewy ) my bf ate a little bit and then said he couldn’t stomach anymore and we went and got tacos. Will never give it a second try.

How did we miss the DDD episode? We had the BBQ pork sandwich and marathon chicken bowl along with a Obscure Kolsch and lemonade served in a sugared rimmed glass. Sorry forgot the pictures. The sandwich was an explosion of flavors. Never would have put the crispy onions or cheese on by choice but wow! Had to use fork and ended up leaving half the bun as there was plenty on the plate. Hubby needed a box for his chicken pasta. Waitress was fun and brought out a refill lemonade before the first was gone. We will be back...so many good things on the menu.

Had a great experience at #UrbanChislic we wanted to try some local cuisine that was very South Dakota so opted for this Triple D Guy Fieri visited place. We went with the traditional Lamb Chislic which is deep fried cubes of lamb with Garlic rub on them. They serve it with a sauce we opted for the tasty Sweet Thai sauce. We ordered rice as a side. We also ordered Bison Chislic because it’s something we don’t see often. It’s like a lean, beefier, meat. The dipping sauce we opted for was the traditional Laotian condiment Jaew Bong which was spicy but not to overwhelming. We ordered the Bison Chislic with sides of fries and cold slaw. The slaw was a cream base with vinegar which had great flavor, a nice compliment to the tasty bites of meat. Overall a great introductory experience to this South Dakota cuisine from Urban Chislic.

Had dinner, 5pm, on a Tuesday. Pretty slow, so it came quickly. Only one server, which I thought was odd. She did great though! Atmosphere is great! My sandwich was soaked in coleslaw, which made it a mess.

What better place to get Chislic when passing through SD than a place called “Urban Chislic”. The lamb Chislic was amazing; best I’ve had to date. Interior is pretty no frills and feels like a suburban chain joint. Decent beer lineup; mixture of a few local craft brews and your standard domestics. I highly recommend Benson’s Buff Bowl…Chislic, rice, and veggies…all prepared perfectly. The cheese curbs were also fantastic; piping hot and incredibly salty. Unfortunately both the fries and chicken wings were over fried and lacked any kind of flavor. But if you’re looking for some tasty Chislic, you’ll find it here!

IMO, the best Chislic in town. If you're looking for "real" old-fashioned lamb Chislic (not fake beef Chislic), then this is the place. Exceptional menu options. Served in bowl, not on wood stick. Saves on restaurant expenses. Remember, as much as we would like, we can't travel back in time to 1960's + 1970's; but the Chislic taste will be the reminder of the past.

The waitress was rather flippant and dismissive about questions regarding gluten free options. Two orders of meat, sauce and chips. Meat was 4 ounces cut up, slightly over lukewarm and well done in ramekins. The tiny cups of sauce were fridge cold, the white BBQ was basically big Mac sauce, and the sweet Thai chili tasted like taco bells sweet chili sauce. No cilantro at all. The house chips were cold and stale, and the queso we ordered was also lukewarm. Very underwhelming experience for nearly 50 dollars.

The food was so good! The lamb was especially tasty. It was really loud inside. The food made up for the noise.

Chislic is the local dish and there were loads of varieties with loads of sides. I had mash but there was green veg and rice etc. The woman server was very friendly and helpful. Loved it. If I was there longer I would have gone back.

I'm honestly surprised at the high reviews and constant suggestions of this place online. Swung by on a Tuesday, so it wasn't busy, but the waitress was beyond rude. Anyone with dietary restrictions is going to know that you question EVERYTHING on the menu, but a sarcastic comment that of course the fries and mashed potatoes are gluten-free doesn't sit well with me. In a world where diners add pancake batter to their omelettes to make them fluffier, I'm not going to assume that your seasoning doesn't have gluten in it. The food was barely warm (the dipping sauces were refrigerator-cold, which didn't help any) and was...... fine? I guess? Chunks of meat with McDonalds-style dipping sauces are hard to truly mess up, but it really wasn't worth the $50 we spent.

I almost tried the DDD BBQ pork sandwich. But I went with the beef Chislic meal with mashed potatoes. I forgot that the menu said house style is cooked medium and wanted medium Rare. The service was fast and very efficient. The steak was chewy and not overseasoned or too salty. It was more medium well. I was kinda disappointed because the bites were not uniform and some cooked more than others. It's hard not to screw up chislic if that's all you do. It was 12:30 and perhaps their quality has lessened customers? Or perhaps they are an afternoon/evening establishment? Price was okay, portion was fine, the mashed potatoes were spectacular.

The staff was soooo nice! The place was very clean. The music they played was unedited with cuss words so that was not great. The food was alright. I had the quesadilla and egg roll. I ordered the pork sandwich from Triple D... very soggy and would not hold together. The staff was very attentive and changed the order to the messy bowl. Looked very nice. However, it turned into soupy-like food with a mix of FF, coleslaw, and fried pork. I left most of the food there though I did not let on about it. It is not for me. I would not return for the food, but I am glad I tried it. Very cool visiting a celebrity spot in SD!

Had the beef chislic nachos. Very good but wished the shredded cheese would have been melted to actually stay on the chips. Messy bowl. Coleslaw was an awesome tasty add!

Great atmosphere, great service ,nice cold brews, we got the beef chislic with the house chips the chislic seemed a bit overcooked and the chips were tasty, super fresh house garden salad, the cheese curds are amazing, the ranch tasted a little watered down, the pork cole slaw sandwich that was on the show diners drive ins and dives is good the pork chislic had so much flavour, I must say it's a whole lotta sandwich I'm a burger guy but opted for the pork sandwich which I regret , definitely fair prices.

Amanda does an awesome job of providing excellent service with an outstanding attitude. She is a great example of what every food service professional should be. When she's not personally taking care of a customer she is sweeping, cleaning, resetting, checking on fellow workers and just basically doing everything! What a breath of fresh air to see someone like Amanda doing their very best to set the bar high! Nice job Amanda!! Your service will keep us coming back.

Been here a couple times and have been under impressed. We got the same thing (dumpster) and it was prepared different each time. Meat wasn't the warmest. I've had better at other places especially for the price.

Never had Chislic before or even heard about it before venturing to South Dakota but it was pretty good. Portions were large, especially with doubling the meat. Lots of variety with the sauces and the house rub was pretty well seasoned. Our server was very helpful with helping us order and let us sample their local beers before ordering a full pint, something I don't see many restaurants doing which is a huge plus. The craft beer they have on tap is also really good and they have large beer portions available too.

Food average at best. Service also average at best. Decent atmosphere, lots of TVs. Expected better Chislic for a place with it in the name. Probably won't return. There are better options at lower price points with larger portions.

I was very much looking forward to going to this restaurant. I never had chislic before. I can honestly say, we will never be back again. The place wasn't busy. Service was slow. I ordered the Bbq messy bowl and my SIL had the stir fry, which tasted weird and was inedible. She reordered and got the bbq messy bowl as well. Unfortunately, it took 20 minutes to get the meal. I had finished my meal and she still hadn't gotten her meal yet. I asked for a manger and was informed that no manager was there. They did nothing and we waited a while longer until she got her meal. Of course, we were surprised at the price of the meal. We paid over $20 each for a meal and pop that was below subpar, slow service and a huge delay on food. If you want a good chislic meal with great service, we suggest you do not go to Urban Chislic.

I usually love this place. I was charged a beer on my to go order once. I didn't notice until I got home. What I usually get is 4 regular lambs with uc fries/coin fries. I was charged for just regular chislic not lamb and a beer. So the price ended up totaling out the same as it usually does so I didn't notice. Until I looked at the food. The fact that there not bringing UC Fries/coin fries back is a bummer. Chislic is awesome!
