We have not tried this place yet, so we went here for lunch today. This has to be the smallest portion of Chineese food I've ever received. We were charged for dinner portions and pictured ia what we got. Two meals and 1 soda for almost $40. The service was good, the food was OK. I like the General's Chicken/Tofu a tiny bit spicy. Theirs is closer to the orange chicken. Due to the portion sized, I'm not sure thatcInwould return.

Had lunch here by myself. Waited 15 minutes to be seated, the employee walked between a wall and myself (1.5 feet apart) and pushed me aside to get to the till and take payment. Then she came to me and said “one?”, didn’t wait for an answer, just grabbed a menu and started walking. I followed and she sat me in a booth. The booth has both seats ripped open. She put the placemat on the table and walked away, saying nothing. Waitress comes, stands there not saying a word. Didn’t ask what I wanted etc. I told her I wanted hot tea and she still remained silent and walked away. Got my tea and told her I was ready to order. She said ok and I told her my order. Again not a word, just walks away. My food was good, which is why I gave it 2 stars. It wasn’t a language barrier because as soon as they thought I was finished they asked if they could take my plate and handed me the bill. They handed me a to-go box and again, did so without saying a word. At checkout they also spoke English well. Place wasn’t busy enough to constitute not having the time to be courteous. The experience was horrible other than the food.

Read the reviews of great service and food. I guess we came on a off night. It wasn't busy here only about 5 tables. It was close 20 minutes before the waitress took our order and a hour before we got our food. Don't think we'll be back.

One of the best family owned Chinese restaurants in town. We have tried the orange, sesame, and general chicken so far. Be warned the fried wontons are literally just wonton wrappers (no cream cheese). The menu could include some more descriptions, but all standard Chinese options.

Execellent Sioux Falls Chinese Restuarant. Dine in or carry out! Golden Bowl feels like a remnant of the old Golden Wall! I recommend the Chicken Egg Fu Yong with Fried Rice. An egg roll and wonton soup if your feeling lucky! Great vibe and amazing flavors. One of the best Chinese food spots in Sioux Falls! Enjoy!!!🥠🥠🥠🥠🥠

My family has been going here for decades. We loved the place and the owner knew my dad and all of us kids. My brother ordered takeout and was missing an entree. No biggie...it happens. He called and they took his name and promised him a replacement on his next visit. When he went to retrieve his promised replacement...they said ...sorry...you're name isn't written down. He explained that he's been coming for 25 years and this is the only time he's asking for redemption for a mistake. The guy wouldn't budge. Sorry...you're name isn't written here. SO UNFORTUNATE!!! our family went there once a week for decades and they lost hundreds of dollars of business over one mistake that was THEIR fault. Big mistake!!!

Food is very good but portions are small for cost. Still great option for Chinese food in Sioux Falls. Sometimes not enough staff to wait tables efficiently but waitress was very nice.

The service from our waitress at Golden Bowl was quite pleasant. I must admit though I was a bit disappointed with the protein portion in the meals. It’s possible that it was just an off day or perhaps they were facing high demand during the busy lunch hour. I had heard many great things about this place, and while the overall quality was good, I hope they can improve the portion sizes for a more satisfying dining experience in the future. I’ll try dinner next time

Great food! I've tried a variety of dishes and enjoyed them all. And the staff there is really terrific! They're friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful. Golden Bowl has become one of my favorite Sioux Falls restaurants!

Ordered from the lunch menu for 2 people. Generous servings, very good quality and taste to the food, served quickly and food was hot when served. Entree with a single hors d' ouvre and soft drink for each of 2 adults cost roughly $15.00 not including tip. One of our 2 favorite Oriental restaurants in Sioux Falls.

The few times I've ate here, the waitress is always nice & the people at the checkout are very talkative & polite. The quality of the food makes up for the few minute wait. Definitely recommend people to try their selection of chicken! Lunch pricing is awesome as well

Ordered crab Rangoon, egg drop soup, pot stickers, and honey chicken. All dishes were hot and fresh. Server was attentive. Price was good.

A favorite of my family for years. The food is very good and served family style on serving dishes so you can pass your pick around your table, which is fun. The atmosphere is busy - it's a popular place. The in-house and takeout service lags at busy times. There are usually people waiting for seating and takeout and even to pay so do expect to take your time during peak hours. The staff are pleasant and work hard to accommodate everyone.

I was seated in a cramped booth with a torn seat cover worn down to the wood under the cushion when there was many empty tables. When asked to be seated elsewhere the waitress just walked off. The owner said something not understandable when she walked by. I left to go elsewhere for better service. Sioux Falls has many other pleasant options available.

This is hands down. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Sioux Falls. Their egg drop soup is homemade and their dishes are excellent. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is great as well!

Good but not great... probably wouldn't go again. Egg rolls were 95% cabbage and had barely any meat (tiny little pieces, too), so that were pretty bland. Sweet and sour chicken was dry and just soaked in sauce, and the sesame chicken did not taste like sesame chicken. It was good, but just wasn't right. The broccoli on my plate was mostly cold, and I ordered veggies with no sauce for my baby and they were not tender and not very warm. Honestly think they were just frozen and heated up in the microwave. He couldn't even pull the greens off the florets.

Been to many Asian restaurants in town. This was by far the best if you don't need a buffet. Friendly staff, excellent decor, VERY comfortable seating. Food was fresh, hot and delicious. Perfect portions, great prices! A hidden gastronomic gem in Sioux Falls. Spacious parking and no wait. Highly recommended! A+!!!

Never had a bad meal and have tried numerous items. The won ton soup and egg rolls are always on point. Make sure and ask for Mellisa for the best dining experience.

I'm not sure if I'm going to trust anymore sioux falls reviews after this one... I don't think people here know what good Chinese food is because this place had great reviews and the worst food I've ever had. The Mongolian beef was visibly nasty looking, the taste was just ok nothing special. Same thing with the sesame chicken. The crab Rangoon was ok but the presentation was terrible... folded over triangles no thank you.

Food was alright but was minimal despite paying 15.00 for mongolian beef. Service was great and had no faults. There really wasn't a distinct atmosphere to the restaurant, especially since I presume it hasn't been renovated since its creation. Overall 4 stars.

Got an order of Sweet n sour, spicy orange, and spicy general's chicken. Nothing was spicy at all it was bland and seemed like it was made weeks ago and just got tossed in a pan for 5 seconds, also the fried rice that came with it was odd to say the least... The people seemed friendly but short staffed so not gonna blame the front but some of my chicken wasn't even chicken it was just large peices of breading... First time and last time... 😔

I ate here a few weeks ago, just after lunch rush timeframe. Service personnel were not very polite; it felt like an imposition that I was even there, the food and drink were slow (even without a lot of patrons) and was mediocre. I have been everywhere in town and regularly will drive all the way across town for Chinese food or to try a new Chinese restaurant. Overall, I would say that unfortunately my experience was negative. I would recommend and eat at every other Chinese place in town before coming back here, even the Chinese food at the HyVee store.

If I could give 4.5 starts I would. The food was delicious. It tasted fresh and not like it was microwaved from a box like at some Chinese restaurants. The staff is about as friendly as what you usually find in a Chinese restaurant. My reason for the 4 stars vs. 5: the service was extremely slow. If you have an hour lunch break or less, plan on getting back late or order ahead. It wasn't very busy in there, but in my opinion it was very slow. I will definitely give it another shot in the future.

["I've been looking for great Chinese food since we moved to Sioux Falls. Golden Bowl qualifies as good. The sweet and sour pork and egg drop soup were quite good. They were definitely the best I've had in Sioux Falls so far. However, the Mongolian beef, fried rice, and egg rolls were mediocre. Our server was friendly, and it was a quiet and clean place to have lunch. I enjoyed the decor.\nI felt the price was a bit high for the portions we got. I ended up spending a little over $40 for lunch for two people.",null,[0,237]]
