Family was staying here because of a birthday. They got permission for a couple of the kiddos friends to swim. When I arrived I asked where the pool area was and the front desk lady was so so rude. She was like "um exactly what for?" I said there was a birthday party and she said "um no that is not allowed." With most attitude ever. I walked out and snuck in the pool in back to join my family for their party. Worst customer service ever. Lady should not be front desk. I know I will never stay here if she's at the front desk. Pathetic.

The front desk staff was extremely rude. When I checked in I asked for two bottles of water as most Hilton Hotels give these to their silver members. The staff working made me feel absolutely ridiculous for even asking, because at Homewood they are for Gold and Diamond Members only. Which is fine, but there was no need to be rude, all other Hiltons I have been to give water for silver status. While I was getting yelled at for asking for water. A man asked for more pool towels and was treated very poorly and almost yelled at for his small request. He just walked away and went without. Rooms are not clean, our carpet was filthy, several stains and even a spot that was worn to the threads. All in all I hope the front desk staff can become more courteous and make hotel guests feel welcome. It was horrible! We will not be returning!

Though, I have stayed here in the past. I was disappointed with my last stay! I booked a 2 night stay for a total of $518 dollars online. Upon arrival, they tried to charge me 20% on top of the $518 bringing the total to $721, which is more than 20%! I was told 20% is for snacks and liabilities. So, my card was declined, because I only anticipated paying $518 and they couldn't except cash! I never had this problem in the past! So, instead of staying 2 nights, we only stayed 1 night. What really disappointed me the most is the up keep of room #130. The front door looked like it had been broken into in the past! When entering or leaving this room you really had to pull or push this door to make sure it was closed! It was off centered and you could see the damage on the outside were someone tried to pry the door open in the past! The bedroom had stains on the ceiling from what appeared to be a previous water leak. There were cobwebs in the corner. The trimming on the wall was loose and hanging. The furniture in this room definitely needs an upgrade! It had multiple stains and appeared to be worn down. Then, there was also a problem with the toilet and I had to call maintenance! Never, had this problem in the past! And for the price, this room was definitely not worth the money! I decided to make this my last stay! đź‘Ž

All in all a good experience. The room was clean and reasonably modern. The price was decent. I've paid as much for worse rooms, so no complaints there. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Jakob at the front desk. I'd definitely stay here again!

I have been extremely disappointed with my experience at Homewood Suites at Sioux Falls. I booked my rooms through Priceline and they have this weird policy that every name that I included on my booking had to show their ID to check-in even though I paid for the rooms. Essentially, whoever I booked rooms for had to show their ID, even though it was my credit card that was on their booking. This is such a ridiculous policy - someone could very well use my credit card and make a booking, and as long as they wrote their own name on the rooms, I would have no control over it. The front desk person who checked me in was very rude about this policy because I couldn't understand why this was happening. To make matters worse, the same front desk staff asked me: "does your mother have documents?". If I had said that to her, I would have been reported for being racist and made headline news. I feel like we were profiled because we are Asian and she assumed my mother could not speak English and did not have documents. My mother was very offended by her question and spoke up about having documents. At this point, the front desk staff backed off and was suddenly able to add my name to my mom's booking (even though I paid for this room). Why she couldn't do this before, I don't know. I've left a voicemail with the manager, I've contacted the main customer service line, and everyone is passing on responsibility onto others. The main customer service line informs me that the manager had sent an email and it went to my spam (they knew this and yet they didn't even bother to call me). I told them I would like the manager to CALL me to explain and not just apologize in an email. Despite my repeated complaints, the manager is only willing to send me an email. Had I gotten a phone call the next morning to clarify, I would have been fine and let this situation go. I feel like this issue has been treated as an "everyday problem" like issues with the toilet. I am deeply disappointed with how everyone has handled this situation and will NEVER book with Homewood Suites again.

Front desk staffs are friendly, nice & very accommodating. Made a phone call for reservation a few month ago, made a change a few weeks ago & while waiting to check in the front desk was on the phone with someone - I overheard the guest was planning a surprise, check in & check out went smoothly ; all the front desk staffs are awesome, very upbeat & helpful. Room is clean & spacious. Location is good, close to hwy & foods/restaurants. They have a nice outdoor small garden, can be use for event & good place for family photos. Nothing to complain about bfast either. Definitely recommended & would be back.

The whole place is dirty and really in need of renovation - thin walls, wallpaper coming off walls, uneven floors, etc. Staff was mostly friendly. Breakfast was mediocre. Hilton says Diamond members are supposed to be able to get daily waters. When I asked for some was told "we are not supposed to, but I will make an exception." Room description for the "Premium" room we got said it was supposed to have a Keurig which was part of the reason I booked it. No Keurig or even a decent sized pot you would expect to find in a hotel designed for longer stays. The pots and pans were unusable with rust all over the insides. If you run the dishwasher, before bed, do not expect to sleep it is so loud.

I checked in for tonight and asked if I could have 2 bottles of water. Was told only for gold/diamond members, such a very small thing thst I appreciate from every other hilton property I have stayed at. My room is very clean and spacious. Coffee was available for choice of reg/or flavored creamers when I checked in. Went to fitness center to workout. It had decent equipment, 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, 1 bycicle. It didnt have air. I think its on the same as pool area and it was very hot. Couldnt do usual workour because I got too hot. There was a fan blowing but didnt cool room down. No towels available or water cooler which is an amenity almost every hilton property I have stayed at has Thought I would relax hot tub. Hot tub had warm water but jets do not work and was dirty. If you are just interested in clean room this is great. If you care about amenities stay elsewhere.

Most if not all of the staff was great. Breakfast literally made me sick everytime I tried eating it. Wifi is god awful. Hotel staff tries to overcharge every chance they get when you extended stay. Apparently their computers will charge you for a full week random nights at 2 am.

Spacious, but please note that "sleeps four" might mean 1 bed and 1 hide-a-bed sleeper sofa. Room service staff was very friendly and accommodating. This hotel was filled up for the rally but praise God we were able to book out room. Would have appreciated a later checkout, because we were driving through the night 🌙. I was glad to stay here. God bless!

Nice clean rooms. Only issues I had with it was we had a minor toilet clog and when I went down to the front desk, I had to wait for the desk clerk to get back as she was helping another guest. There was a sign on the front desk that said "Dial 0 for assistance," but I couldn't find a phone. Finally saw one behind me in the front entrance. She showed up shortly after I dialed 0 on that phone. It all came out Ok in the end. My point is that the sign could've been clearer where the phone was. That was my ONLY complaint. Otherwise, the room was excellent. Very clean, and the room was very cozy! We will stay there again when needed!

Good location, older property and it's starting to show its age. The upkeep is decent but it's certainty at the end of its service life. Lots of items are broken scratched worn down. They keep it clean and the common areas are fresher. The service was good. Location is good just needs a major reno to keep up with the many other options in the nearby area.

Nice location and spacious rooms. Our sheets and pillowcases had stains. The extra blanket looked like it had been cut and there were holes in it. There was black mold under the peeling wallpaper in our friends room. Definitely needs some updating and not worth the expensive price for this weekend.

Do NOT stay here if you want a good night’s sleep! The walls are PAPER THIN. You can hear every single thing being said by your next door neighbors, particularly the neighbor against your headboard! The bedding, PILLOWS, were HORRID. I did not sleep more than 1 hour at a time. The room/suite was ok, but old furnishings old & in bad need of replacement. The exterior grounds were also in very bad shape. The large courtyard was just DIRT. No landscaping whatsoever! Hard to tell if they are renovating the place or if this is just the way it used to be?!? Definitely would not stay there again.

The short version: Incredibly clean!! So much so that this is including the blades of the ceiling fan! Comfortable, cozy, home-like. Some small defects due to age that need maintenance. The details: I have the Hilton app and was able to pick my own room. With a Service Dog that is incredibly helpful! I chose the room right next to the lobby, 114. The electronic key was put on my phone through the app two hours early. The room was ready at 1pm instead of 3pm. But the e-key didn't work. The front desk staff was very empathetic. They said that unfortunately people had been having problems. Our keys were provided quickly. We were even given a couple dog treats for my Service Dog. (They have magnets for pet owners to put on their room door to indicate to staff that they should not let out an animal that is staying.) The staff indicated that they did not mind where we walked the dog as long as we cleaned up (of course!) after her. The front desk area is monopolized by a stone fireplace. It is a nice looking area. But looking around to the other side of the fireplace, the counters and tables are in an unusual configuration. It made them look beautiful. I turned to the right and directly into my room. There was a kitchenette to my left. It was impressively clean. It included an apartment-sized refrigerator and freezer. There was a dishwasher, sink and a twin burner electric stove top. The cabinets had plates, pans, utensils and any product you could need (that is not disposable). It does not have a door. It has a built in table across from the stove with 2 straight back chairs; otherwise, the kitchen is closed off from the rest of the room. The fluorescent light was bright and made the entire area seem cheerful. The living room area had a leather recliner next to the pull-out sofa. The material is perfect for high use places! It could be wiped down and cleaned off with liquid products. I am not sure what kind of magical, comfortable, soft, waterproof material covered the sofa but I wish I could find it for my home! The leather ottoman was the perfect height. Sitting on the sofa with my feet on the ottoman was so very comfortable... especially after being in a car with my legs folded into the sitting position because of driving all day. The ottoman included a wooden table running through the middle of it. It could be used as a coffee table or moved separately. On the other wall was a dresser, very large TV, desk, rolling chair and a set of two narrow doors. The doors led to the bedroom. On the bedroom side you could lock one door into the closed position or lock both doors closed. All the way down to the right there was a half of a bay window with a chair and a light set up there. The perfect reading nook! It was so nice having the architectural feature and not just a flat wall. Oddly, when I went to close the drapes, there were wands hanging...as of they had taken down sheers but not the wands that were attached to them for closing them. We had two queen beds. Again I found 3 pillows on the beds. Why are 3 pillows standard on queen beds now? Maybe if they were perfect pillows ...... The mattresses were fine. I was on an 8 day road trip, these were not the best beds nor were they the worst. The sink had a little privacy wall but was outside the bathroom. It had a wooden vanity built in front of it. The vanity was dark wood but there were a few slats that were blonde. It was the first real defect that I had seen. There was plenty of light in this area. Putting on make-up or dressing up is easy to do with all the mirrors. Next to the sink, the practically walk in closet is closed off with two sliding mirrored doors. The second defect hat I noticed is the bathroom door. It is the correct size for handicap accessible but it takes up nearly all of the bathroom when it opens in. It is hazardous to your toes and feet! For those in wheelchairs it is difficult to use because the door completely covers the toilet paper and once you get a wheelchair in the room, there is no way to close the bathroom door. There is a bathtub.

Dirty furniture, ripped comforters, stained mattress on pull out couch and what looked like a dried blood stain on a pillow. The hotel is showing its age and a multitude of details are definitely overlooked. Pool area not maintained; dirty towels everywhere and fresh towels not restocked. No daily housekeeping but I guess that is a new thing everywhere now. On the good side, breakfast was good. Definitely didn't live up to the Hilton name.

I stay at a lot of Homewood Suites and this is the first one in which I am disappointed. It’s undergoing renovations but those should have been done 5+ years ago IMO, way past due. Very uneven floors, you can feel them go up and down as you walk across the room, frayed carpets, toilets that need two flushes for paper. Everything just OLD. The courtyard, which should be, maybe will be, a nice place to sit, filled with new supplies and old siding and ladders. Ditto, the parking lot and grounds, filled with supplies, debris. I hope when they start on interior they will add better sound insulation, I could hear showers in other rooms, not to mention the guy stomping over my head. Right now I have to say it’s almost a dump. The noise of the workmen pounding on the walls replacing siding is quite disruptive. I also dislike the location. About a 15-20 minute drive from the historic center but worse, it’s just off the very busy Louise Avenue with no stop lights so it is very, very difficult to get out. The front desk staff and kitchen staff are friendly and welcoming however. Unlike other reviewers I had great service, just didn't like rooms. Normally I would just give this feedback to Hilton. I don't know if I usually get a "how'd we do" rating email because I'm a diamond member but did not get that email for this location.

The hotel was very well equipped, rooms were spacious and clean, kitchenette was nicely stocked with everything that you'd need to cook. My only complaint was the showerhead needed soaked in CLR or vinegar to work better.

I meant to add, I would and will stay here again. The welcome caddy in the room was a nice surprise as well. Overall, just a wonderful place to stay with wonderful staff.

We had been displaced due to a water incident from our upstairs neighbor; we picked the hotel for the kitchenette, the room, and the breakfast. The rooms were clean and up kept. The staff was enjoyable and understanding. The morning breakfast was delicious and it changed from day to day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who may be traveling through. They have options for extended stays as well. They do allow pets in this hotel; of course they have a fee, but at least they allow them to stay here.

Our room was a little well-worn, but was comfortable for a quick overnight stay. The hallways on the first floor smelled strongly of cat or urine depending on where you were at, thankfully our room was distanced from whichever room stank. The outside of the hotel is well worn as well, with missing boards, siding, and exterior touches that show a hotel is being well cared for.

Stayed here for work this week, verified with front desk/website that breakfast ends at 11 am. That was wrong, I went downstairs and it was being put away at 10:13, I was hoping to grab a quick breakfast before leaving. The room was on the third floor “non smoking” but you can smell cigarettes, I didn’t get to use the kitchen in my room but looked through the drawers as I was curious but they weren’t wiped down as they’re was still food crumbs all over. Overall it was a 3/5 as I needed a place to stay and it was quiet which was nice. Just wish breakfast hours were correct as well as the room not smelling like cigarettes

I always stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton. Everyone here at the Sioux Falls location is wonderful. Very kind and positive people. If you have a question about anything...they'll help you. The suite is very clean and spacious. The tasty breakfast menu changes daily for variety, so it doesn't become monotonous.

Nice hotel near the medical centers. Looking a little rough around the edges, and could use some maintenance and updating. Room is huge and spotless, but it sounded like a herd of cattle were occupying the room above. Front desk was efficient and friendly. Evening snacks and drinks were available, and a full breakfast in the morning.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! My dad booked two rooms. Their room was fine. Mine was horrible. First the AC barely worked. When we got into the room 321 it was 87 degrees. We turned the AC down to 70. Didn’t do anything for a few hours. Finally we cranked it down to 65 and by 7am the temp finally went down to 79 degrees. Which is still awful. I got a grand total of an hour of sleep after a 16 hour drive. We stayed at a hotel because I had to turn around and drive another 16 hours. This is going to be lovely!! When we told the front desk about the AC they didn’t apologize, offer another room, etc. Hell, they didn’t even offer the room at a discounted rate. Also, nothing in the room was stocked up. The coffee creamer was solid/ chunky. I had to go downstairs to get creamer that wasn’t expired. Also, told the lady at the front desk about this as well and she stated, “well you came downstairs and got some.” Not the point. And lastly, my dad is military. He served 30 years and they wouldn’t honor their military discount. I have never experienced such awful customer service. We will never book here again. If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. You don’t deserve even 1 star.

Google review summary 4.2 Very good 651 reviews Rooms 3.4 Location 4.6 Service 3.9 What guests are saying "Clean room, comfortable beds, quiet location, and good (free) breakfast." "Great place, great price, great staff!" "I Sheets and beds were dirty. I reported to front desk they just brought extra sheets to put over the disgusting bed. I told them I wasn't comfortable staying there and was told the manager wasn't there but she would make some phone calls and get back to me, we never heard back. So we scrunched into the cleanest bed overnight. Next morning went out to front desk to check on status and she was like brought you clean sheets. I was told I could check out and will not be charged for future nights but would be charged for the night we stayed even though it was them that didn't come back if we could get out of that nights stay, shady. Would not stay here again. I have pictures of the dirty sheets and old urine stained beds. This was 1st floor room 104.
