One must absolutely mention the buffet dinner – a gastronomical adventure that will leave you awe-inspired. It's not just a meal; it's an experience that combines an impressive range of international cuisines with local British classics. Every dish is prepared to perfection, bursting with flavours that excite the palate. From mouth-watering appetizers to delectable desserts, it's an epicurean journey that is simply out of this world. But, perhaps the crown jewel of this hotel is its stunning location. Nestled on the banks of the Thames, the hotel offers guests captivating views of the iconic river. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely breakfast or unwinding after a day of sightseeing, the serene, postcard-perfect backdrop is something to behold. The proximity to Windsor adds to the appeal. Whether you're exploring the royal history at Windsor Castle or taking a leisurely stroll in Windsor Great Park, Runnymede Hotel serves as the perfect base for your escapades. Runnymede Hotel effortlessly blends stunning surroundings, impeccable service, and culinary delights to provide an experience that leaves an indelible mark on its guests. Where do I begin, booked the Christmas package and have had a wonderful stay from Christmas Eve through to Boxing Day!!! The room was lovely, the food was consistently exquisite (a particularly highlight was the poached salmon). And the staff, all incredibly friendly, attentive and helped make the stay even better. Anna and Davey particularly stood out, regularly engaging in conversation with us while ensuring we were always well looked after, but every staff member we spoke to across the weekend was just brilliant!!! The hotel is just stunning. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. This was my first stay but will no way be my last. Thanks to all the wonderful staff for your hard work in making this a wonderful Christmas for all your guests!!!

We had to stay near Heathrow and were very surprised about how good this hotel is. Situated on the bank of the Thames with gardens stretching to the water. We managed to get into the restaurant for the final sitting of the Sunday roast and were blown away by the meal and in particular the beef which was pink, tender, moist and so tasty. The breakfast the following day was plentiful and tasty. But the best thing was the staff. Obviously very well trained, they were attentive, polite, nothing was too much effort and they made the whole stay very enjoyable. We can only strongly recommend and we will definitely return.

We stayed here as my birthday present and it was truly special. The location and the hotel is gorgeous. When we entered the room a personalised note was waiting on the bed to wish me happy birthday. We then tried out the spa which was amazing, just what we needed. For dinner we chose the buffet and that experience was exceptional. As a vegan I was a bit worried that I might not have many options but I was very wrong. The lady there went above and beyond to show me everything I can eat she also asked the chef to come out to make sure she suggested the right dishes. There was no vegan option out for dessert apart from fruits but she managed to get me the most delicious chocolate- orange tart with mango sorbet. The food was amazing, very flavourful. The staff over all the whole hotel is very professional and friendly and welcoming. I have never experienced such great service anywhere before. Will be coming back for sure!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Runnymede. It was super clean, the facilities were excellent and the staff were really lovely. They even left a sweet little treat for me in my room along with a birthday card! Very thoughtful. Nonetheless in the future I'd steer clear of ordering any room service as the quality of the food was absolutely unbelievably abysmal. It was so bad that we called to complain and asked for them to make it again but it was still horrible and inedible! 5 stars for the room, spa, staff and breakfast. 0 stars for room service!

Went to the hotel for a belated 40th gift for a spa day experience. Staff friendly & can’t fault that but it’s definitely not a spa. It’s a nice hotel with leisure facilities. Paying for a spa experience from 10am - 2pm which involves lying by a pool listening to a very loud 45 minutes aqua aerobics class is not at all relaxing. Builders walking in and out to repair the men’s changing rooms is also not what I would describe as a relaxing, chill out day. The therapist was lovely & gave a really good treatment but I left immediately after as I didn’t feel there was any point going back in to use the facilities. The regular members are obviously all looked after really well and greeted nicely by all the staff so perhaps a great place to get gym membership. Not trying to bash a lovely hotel but I would not recommend this as a spa day location but more a nice place for lunch and a treatment.

I recently stayed here overnight on a business trip but have had the opportunity to have drinks and food in their restaurant, lobby and outdoor area several times. It’s a great hotel right on the river . It’s lovely to sit outside and have a drink or a bite to eat. The rooms are great with nice amenities, comfortable bed and linens. The breakfast was as great with many options. The staff is all very nice. I will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

We stayed there the previous night as a anniversary present from the hotel and then the next day we booked afternoon tea. The service throughout was fantastic, we had a light lunch, dinner breakfast and afternoon tea and it was all flawless. We even rented a boat and had a ride down river while there! Definitely will return even though we live 2 streets away. Well done everyone 👏

Overall genuinely the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at before! Great service, beautiful location, delicious food, friendly staff. The gym and pool facilities are really good too. You can tell how much pride the hotel takes over all sides of the business. LOVELY STAY! would definitely recommend! (plus the best Sunday roast dinner we’ve ever eaten in our life)

Had a cream tea excellent service they looked after my wife's allergies nothing was to much trouble. We were seated by a window looking over the river just an excellent view. Good value for the money plus no rush so an ideal way to relax. No room review as we did not stay as we are local to the hotel. We will go back but be advised you need to book.

Stayed here twice this year and also recommended to friends. This hotel is truly beautiful, with amazing service and staff. Each and every member of staff here should be very proud of themselves, such attentive and lovely people. The breakfast is wonderful, delicious, great choice and lovely and fresh. Great facilities and stunning views within a great location. If I had any negatives, our second stay we had a normal double, it had lovely views of river but would definitely go back to a bigger room next time, as bed wasn't so comfortable, mattress and pillows not the same as a superior room. But believe me you will have a wonderful time here.

Nice gem in Surrey! This hotel has a modern lounge and hall, spacious and clean spa area and lovely an attentive staff. Nice and spacious rooms with riverside view, the bathroom should be updated but everything was clean and functional. The buffet dinner is absolutely top and so is the breakfast. The spa treatments are nice and staff is lovely. Will definitely come back again!

Stayed here only one night for a business Trip but will book it again anytime. Breakfast has a very good choice and is tasty. The outdoor pool is awesome and heated. Very nice to relax, directly located at the Thames. But not very suitable for citysightseeing, you will need a car. Close to Heathrow but you also hear the planes.

Set in a really picturesque location and very calm and wonderful hotel spa. The spa pool, massages and facilities were excellent, the staff were very friendly. The room was good quality and spacious. The dinner buffet had lots of selections and it was great value for money if you ate lots of things from there. Unfortunately we were told some items were not available (like garlic and chillis) which should be quite easy to prepare.. The breakfast was disappointing - a lot of hot holding items were cold and dry as they probably have been on display for a while and based on the number of guests for the breakfast for weekdays at least, it probably would have been better if the food was cooked to order. I do recommend the hotel overall - we used the spa away deal available on the website and it was definitely value for money and worth the visit for a relaxing time.

Beautiful hotel with lovely large rooms. Leisure club and spa very modern and clean. The hotel is in a great position by the Thames. Manager and staff very helpful, friendly and caring. I highly recommend this venue.

Very clean and well equipped rooms (coffee machine and hot chocolate, fridge, water, hair dryer etc). Friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful location and great facilities. I enjoyed using the inside Spar and pool. The food was incredible, lots of choice in the evening and breakfast buffet and all taisted great. Visited for a work meeting with a group but would definitely return. Close to Heathrow so lots of low flying plain that you can hear in your room, but slept very well.

5 Star excellence from the venue, rooms to the food, spa and Staff - cannot fault anything Yes this hotel is undergoing refit in the rear (right side of hotel) but didnt hear any noise and no mess - Did see a handy man with a menacing Drill in his hand waking down the stairs once :) thats about it. Spa is one of the most spacious and cleanest fully working SPA's i have been in for years. The Dining experience amazing, nicest cooked food as a buffet - with Pizza Oven where the Chef cooks fresh for you. Desserts - yep put all diets on hold and enjoy ... Reception staff Anamarina, Regina sorted out shuttle and trip to Windsor Castel and as noted on booking - Craig and his team sorted our Wedding Anniversary and Wifes 50th Birthday Cards and on our Dinner at Leftbank did a complementary dessert. I'm not one to do reviews of my trips as do many, but the Staff here - every single one of them from the waiter/waitress's, Reception staff, Spa reception, Chef's - All of them amazing and made the break so special - thanks all

Lovely hotel, gorgeous location on the river. Staff are super courteous and go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. The gym is very well equipped and maintained, and there are lots of conference rooms.

The Runnymede on Thames was perfect for my needs following surgery at a nearby hospital. I was apprehensive having read some of the more recent negative reviews which mentioned the renovation works - I need not have worried though. Check-in was very pleasant, the staff were so lovely! The hotel itself was clean and modern - although being renovated in areas which are dated. Our room was lovely, although not renovated I personally still found it extremely good value for money. The hotel itself is situated near the M25 making it handy for airports, hospitals, theme parks and Windsor. Unfortunately I didn't have time to try out the facilities such as the spa, gym, bar and restaurant - something I plan to rectify once the works have been completed. I'll certainly be back.

We had a wonderful breakfast for £18.95 Friendly staff, beautiful view through the window. Quite and warm. I brought my mum for breakfast as she has her birthday today. She is happy with all the food and drinks. She likes omelets with cheese and spinach. Also mango and banana juice.

  • 5/5 Mick B. 7 months ago on Google
Although being renovated, we only noticed a few areas where construction was being carried out. Staff were welcoming and helpful from check in to check out, including a courtesy call to make sure the room was OK. I've given "rooms" 4 stars only because they are dated. This is being rectified during the renovations though. The spa was very good. I used the pool, infra red sauna and jacuzzi, none of which were overcrowded on a Friday evening. I didn't use the gym but it looked modern with plenty of stations available. With it being right by the M25, the location was perfect for our needs. We'd definitely stay again, hopefully giving that extra room star.

Great hotel with, lovely interior and decoration. I plan on going back again. One thing I would like to let people know about that is the hotel is a trek for those who use public transportation. 2hrs to London and 2hrs back using train and bus was a killer. Plan on using a car next time

Handy meet up place for us heading out of Heathrow. Nice lounge area. Food very uninteresting. Lovely walk by the river. I’m sure we’ll be back though.

🤤 We popped into the hotel for dinner this evening’s for the buffet and it was exceptional. For the quality of food, ambience and good service, the value for money is outstanding. The chefs serving the food this evening were also super friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend this place for dinner or food :) our favourite dish was the panettone 🇮🇹 bread and butter pudding, AMAZING ❤️

We had afternoon tea here with family. We had a great table by the window, incredible river view on one side and nice warm fireplace on the other side. They have adult’s portions as well as children’s portions. Kids ones are half price.

Champagne afternoon tea, great friendly, professional and attentive staff!! Made the experience even better. Vegan afternoon tea, great sandwich selection, no dry scones and nice cakes. All in all, value for money lovely afternoon, not rushed was able to stay from 2.30 until 5pm. Recommend!

We went to the restaurant ( Lounge) Really nice. Easy parking. Superb ambience. The outdoor terrace overlooks the river, Service was nice (order via the app). The food was lovely - we had scones and club sandwich ( which came toasted)with generous portions well served in good crockery with proper thick cotton napkins. Coffee was OK, but tea was nicely brewed. A great experience. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

Nice hotel. Great gym. I love the extra effort of little bird drawings and other quaint details. I love walking along the river ...

We had afternoon tea at the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty, and the champagne was top notch. The best part though, as most people will say, is the location - a beautiful spot by the Thames. The weather wasn't the greatest, but we still went outside, and it was worth it. The views are brilliant, and watching the bustle on the river is a wonderful backdrop. Highly recommended

We had a last minute night away here and loved it ! We were very lucky with the weather and manged to book a slot in the outdoor pool which was great. We enjoyed a swim in the indoor pool too and the sauna etc as well. Before walking into Egham for dinner we had a drink on the terrace. It was so nice to sit beside the river. The beds were comfy and the breakfast fabulous. It really felt like being on holiday even though we were there for less than 24 hrs.

My partner and I stayed here for a few days last week. Our stay at the Runnymede was above and beyond expectations. Staff are incredible and make you feel really welcomed. The rooms are lovely and sweet with a comfy bed. The location is beautiful with lots of local attractions and activities provided by the hotel. The Runnymede does a wonderful job at making you feel comfortable and relaxed. The spa facilities are brilliant and the food is wonderful as well. You can really see how much pride they have in running such a great hotel. Thank you so much for having us. Highly recommend the Sunday roasts! They are outstanding. Best roast I have ever had.

Lovely venue. Delightful staff especially charming Ed. Attentive. Plush seating. Good menu. Enjoyed smoked salmon sandwich. Delicious filling. Thought bread could have been a little fresher. Crusts seemed a bit tough. However certainly worth a visit or two.

I booked a last minute festive afternoon tea at the Runnymede and am so glad I did! We've never been to the Runnymede before, despite living fairly locally and were very impressed with everything, from the parking, décor, cleanliness & facilities. The service was second to none, we felt exceptionally well looked after and the food was superb; genuinely the best afternoon tea I think I've ever had! I can highly recommend a visit here and we will certainly be returning.

Went for the Sunday buffet lunch and was really impressed. Arrived a little early but offered a drink in the cosy reception, whilst the children looked at the painted ducks! Selection was of really high standard and plenty of it. Some of the group though the meat was a little rare, but I didn't mind it! Great for a treat or special occasion.

It has had a fantastic refurbishment around the reception and bar and restaurant areas. Wonderful spot on the river Thames too impress outdoor, indoor pool and gym and spa facilities too. We don't live far so often visit for lunch /coffee / drinks or business meeting venue. Have also stayed here though and recommend it

Stayed for 3 nights with a young family. Generaly very good. Had an adjoining room which was helpful, well fitted and clean. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon, so the only option was an all day buffet for dinner. Which at £38 for an adult and £19 for a child was pricy. Especially for a 6 year old. We enjoyed a variety of things, though I'm not a fan. Encourages over eating and a lot of waste. Plus there was a 10% service charge, strange to include this as it's self service. Found out after we could have used the room service menu. Which is quite extensive. We used this another night for 3 pizzas and chips. Though the pizzas where quite small at about 10inch, for a £18 margarita. Pool and spa was good. Nice position next to the river. Good for long walks.

Great hotel with lovely staff. Nothing is too much trouble. They helped me book a taxi, explained how to reduce the powerful air-con in my room and even gave me duck food when I went on a walk! I had an excellent facial in the spa and really enjoyed the food in the restaurant. Thank you - I will be back again soon!

We had a family meal at the buffet restaurant today. We were seated but not informed about the buffet and what was available etc. The starters looked as though they had been sitting there all afternoon to the extent the salad leaves were warm!Very minimal selection. The carvery area, the beef was full of fat, the chicken looked dry and the pork stringy. We asked what fish it was to be informed the server was not sure as he didn’t sort the fish today! No label was present! Minimal selection of warm vegetables. The desserts were about the only thing that enthused us. The waiters were not attentive other than to ask was it all ok? And when asked for the bill stood over us with the card machine! All in all a terrible experience and we won’t be returning. Extremely overpriced and charged service yet it’s a buffet!
