The best part of Shahi Samadhan is an open pavilion in white marble on top. I wonder what was the purpose of this pavilion. Being right on top of the Mausoleum, no one would really sit here. Was it just an architectural element or there was a purpose to it in war-ridden Punjab of those times. The Heritage Walk ironically begins from a mausoleum. Shahi Samadhan is the resting place of the royal family of Patiala. The main building houses the memorial of Baba Ala Singh – the founder of Patiala. Behind it are the cenotaphs of other members of the royal family.

About 1.5 km walking path to get the flavour of Patiala. I have posted both in English and Bengali language. 1. Shahi samadhan - royal heritage 2. Pammi puri a wala - delicious Puri/luchi with mouth watering sabhi and chutney, only 20 inr per plate. 3. Patiala’s heritage buildings/haveli 4. Juti bazar - the famous patiala shoe 5. Phulkari market - where Punjab’s authentic weaving stole and popular kaleidoscope shawl/dupatta available. Go, visit the knitting and buy the awesome dupattas for you and gift your loveliest 6. Bartan bazar - though common alike every community market but special to Punjab 7. Dying market - clothes are getting dye 8. Rajeshwar Shiv mandir 9. Quila Mubarak - it was also closed.
